This location needs some serious attention to food storage protocols and dates. On numerous occasions, I’ve noticed that items are well past their sell by date, or sitting moldy on the shelves. Once I brought a bag of rolls to an employee and let them know they were moldy, as I walked off, the employee took the very moldy rolls and put them back on the shelf with the other moldy rolls. Last week my husband bought 2 packs of cheese (different brands and vacuum sealed) only to realize once he got home that even though the sell by date is 8 months away, one was full of slimy liquid and the other was covered in mold. This store is going to make someone very sick if they don’t start paying better attention to food stafery and quality standards. *** editing to respond to Safeways reply. I did already bring the moldy cheese back and asked to speak to a manager. Manager wasn’t phased or even surprised to see the moldy cheese or hear about the issues, they even said something about “well we don’t have the man power to monitor the sell by dates in every department so sometimes things get missed” and couldn’t have cared less. That’s why I posted the review.

This Safeway's customer service is seriously lacking. I was at the self check out buying chicken. I had a 30% off coupon for the chicken that was attached to the packaging. I scanned the chicken and coupon and needed assistance as you always do when using a coupon at self check out. The girl came by and said "I don't know how to input this so yeah. You can't use it." I asked if she could get a manager or someone who knows how to input coupons to help because I've never had a problem using this particular coupon before. She rolled her eyes at me and said "there's no one around." I said nicely "please can you help me? Meat is expensive these days." She found a manager who was also extremely rude to me and acted as if I were a burden wanting to use a coupon. She finally got it to work and I said Thank you very much for your help. She just grunted, rolled her eyes and flipped her hair as she walked away. The level of arrogance and laziness is unacceptable and I have encountered this more than once at this store. I refuse to shop here ever again. I do not feel valued nor are the staff willing to help in any way.

I use this store for my delivery service almost daily to receive my groceries. As with anything new. There are growing pains that lead to mistakes, missed items and poor Quality. I have experienced this multiple times through my Safeway grocery delivery. But, couldn’t do much about it given I had no idea which store was being shopped for me and customer service line being limited on solutions. But, I did recently find that it was this store where my groceries were being shopped. Today there were multiple errors with my substitutions despite my request for refund rather than the suggested substitute items. But, I called and spoke to Navaeah, who I believe is one of the leads there. She listened intently to my concerns and went above and beyond to help resolve them. I’m certain she was very busy. But she took plenty of time to listen to and acknowledge my concerns and was creative in coming up with useful solutions to correct the issues. She provided outstanding customer service and deserves recognition

Let me tell you, I went to this Safeway on my way to Tempe where I live. There was no one in produce, so I walk aimlessly around produce with these two ladies for about seven minutes. Then man with salt in pepper came in was walking face, I said Sir Sir Sir before he stopped in asked what do you need. I let him know what she identified hits himself now as the manager that means two ladies have been walking around aimlessly and produce looking for someone who can assist us, he did ask again what what do you need I said I need someone to help me pick out two watermelons, he responded with I don't care what you need attitude you need them now. Why would i ask you for assistance if I didn't need them now. The only saving grace to this story is produce representative as well as the cashier in the front were very professional and nice this is the only saving grace to this story.

It's your typical Safeway. I really only stopped to take a nap under some shade between landing at the airport and picking a friend up from the airport. That worked out well enough and nobody bothered me. Then I went in to use the bathroom and get some snacks and soda. Got the snacks and soda but the restrooms were only accessible with a keypad code and I didn't want to deal with that so I just went back out to my car. I understand what goes down in store restrooms in certain neighborhoods, but there were three employees milling around near the bathrooms getting paid to do nothing. Maybe fire them, hire some security, and get rid of the keypads.

I complained to the security person that there was nothing to clean the carts with and she said, "oh well" and I took offense to that attitude and I took her picture. I then went shopping, but I stopped when I realized that I was being followed by both the security guard and a manager. The manager did not fix the problem. I am not going to shop here if they don't care if it's clean. It makes me feel like they don't care about other things like their meat or produce. This location gives Safeway a bad name.

This Safeway has the rudest employees. It's always the young ones, or maybe they were not taught manners or good customer service. Every time I use the check out lanes instead of self check out and there's a young employee, they completely ignore me, no greeting, they don't even look up at me. Just scan and go. I say hello or thank you I get nothing. This is why I shop at Fry's most of the time, Safeway is just my stop for something quick because it closer to home. Sorry Safeway, please retrain these kids.

This morning I had a small situation at Safeway on 16th street and Southern, I ordered special cupcakes and they weren't ready. After literally almost crying the store manager was able to get my cupcakes made and DELIVERED! Mr CC( I'll use initials)you made my grandson the HAPPIEST EVER! The cupcakes were a hit!!!! This is the worst Safeway ever. You go the Sbux recharge your Sbux card for $50 the money hit someone's pocket and not my card. The management just proceeded to ignore me via calls and visits. Someone needed the money more then me. I will just no longer spend my money at Safeway or Starbucks!

This is a Fabulous Building that is steeped in a rich history of Nagasaw Cheese and Borneo Bacon Bits. If you squint while exiting the Southern Gates(1 of Steel, 1 of pure Stardust) you can still see the charred remains of the Zantient War God LARZ. Everything else is just a normal Safeway.

I loved this Safeway, it's very clean and has a nice variety of groceries and other services, it even has a Starbucks so you can reward yourself after shopping. They open very early, I made it there by 7am so I got the help I needed from the staff, they were kind and helpful.

Always clean and super friendly staff. The blueberry scones are delicious but please watch the dates on your bakery purchases because they sell some things past the expiration date.. especially the Pan Dulce, it was like rocks
