Wow, if you need a new bank, or just looking to switch your branch. Scotiabank Waterdown is the answer every time! The staff are incredibly welcoming and always looking to make your experience a good one. I have to also recognize our advisor Kristina K, Kristina has been supporting us since we moved to Waterdown a little over a year ago. She is kind, supportive and accommodating. Kristina makes banking a breeze and is extremely knowledgeable! I must also add Gorete at the front desk is truly refreshing! In these uncertain times she makes your experience welcoming, she is always cheerful and even with a mask you know she's got a huge smile on her face! Scotia this bank needs some kudos!
WORST Bank in Canada!! over paid my down payment by $10,000 and played it off until i threatened the Officer of the President. Failed to invest my RRSP as requested. Doubled my interest rate on a loan for non-payment but refused to provide proof of the non-payment when i had proof of payment. The employees are lazy, under-trained and only want you to pad their stats. The Manager will stand by his employees no matter what, don't waste your time making a complaint. Trust me make the move. Went to Royal Bank...OMG customer service is an understatement.
I'm a current customer with a mortgage looking to transfer accounts and investments to scotia. The earliest appointment that fit my schedule took 3 weeks. Despite showing up on time we sat for over 30 mins waiting with no idea if or when we would get in. No respect for our time. We left as it didn't look like we would get in any time soon. An hour and a half past our appointment time, Shami simply canceled our appointment. No follow up from the bank, no explanation. Disappointed.
Just be careful. We made a large transfer between us 2 and when we got home I checked online and the money still wasn’t there. So luckily we had an appointment the next day and they told us that the money should have been there right away - once again luckily I had the receipt and they fix the mistake. Not sure where they transferred the money to in the first place. The person who did that - still works there by the way.
I made two deposits one to my chequing and one to my savings. the one for chequing went through the one for savings they took $1000 of deposit and claimed there was a much lower amount even though I had witnesses in the car even though they were the exact same amount. The bank claims that the money is not there investigation will take a few weeks I guess my mortgage payment can wait
Went on a Saturday and only one of the customer reps were at their desk, but as the line up increased other desks opened up. They could not help me reset the PIN of my brand new debit card, but they did try. Any activity outside the norm such as merging of different accounts needs to be sent to a major branch as this location can't handle such transactions.
It was a worst experience at this Waterdown branch. Advisor doesn't knowledge about over payment limit and interest. Above this , she is not even bothered to ask colleagues for the help . After spending 15 mins ,i had to leave without solving my issue.Worst Customer Service.
So! After the Drive-Thru ABM ate $450 and gave no receipt, no cash back, and no deposit into my account (hahah scarrryyyyyy stuufffff), I was given a great run around for 6 days of nightmare But! It's all good. After 6 days it was kindly returned to my account. …
The bank is normally fine, just like any other bank. However twice now I have arrived at 4:50 (10 minutes before closing) and they have had the doors locked and just stared at me when I tried to enter. For people with day jobs this is super frustrating.
Shami did not call for a phone appointment and then canceled my today’s appointment. In general I have never had a good customer service experience because of employees like her. One of the main reason why I am moving everything away from Scotiabank.
Terrible bank, very nosey. Always getting asked if my pay i deposit is the same. So what if I get a raise for my job it's none of their business!! My old bank never asked so many questions!!! Not professional in my books

Banking experience has been fairly standard, but mortatage services are terrible. I can’t wait to move my mortgage. Make sure you check other options.

Tried to open a account...they wanted me to wait on the phone for 20 mins...looks like I will open an account somewhere else.
