"I went to Service Canada office"
I’ve had to come to the Sinclair center on three occasions now and every time everyone has been nice. Today I finally got my permanent residency which was a big day for me and was celebrating. I asked a member of staff if I could have a photo with the flag to which he replied yes. I then had an African man come out of nowhere yelling at my face that I can’t take photos. He shouted at me several times as well as my husband despite apologizing and telling him we asked were told we could do so. Perhaps if there is a no photo rule you should have bigger signs?? And this member of staff seriously needs an attitude adjustment and needs to learn how to talk to people appropriately!! He should be ashamed of himself, his treatment of people was absolutely disgusting!!
I actually went there because of the passport office that's shown to be there on the internet, the place was full inside with a line about 10 long outside the door so there must have been 50 people there at 9:15 AM.I balked and walked out thinking I would return the next day, luckily when I told my friend he told me you don't have to go there to get or renew your passport, you can do it at any Canada Service office so I walked to the one at Kingsway and Knight and at 12:45 PM I was the first in line and was finished and out the door 20 minutes later.Don't forget to have your guarantor the sign the back of your passport photo with the stamp on it,apparently alot of people do.Good Luck and Happy Trails.
MY REVIEW OF SINCLAIR CENTRE WITH A DETAILED EXPOSITION OF ITS ARCHITECTURAL STYLES, IN SITU TRAVEL CONVENIENCES, NAVIGATIONAL HACKS AND UNDERPASSES TO CONVENIENCES, OTHER PLACES OF NOTE (GASTOWN, BLOOD ALLEY, SFU DOWNTOWN CAMPUSES) AND PUBLIC TRANSIT STOPS THAT GETS YOU EVERYWHERE FROM THERE) AND INSTAGRAMMABLE SPOTS (ESPECIALLY USEFUL IN FALL AND WINTER) , AND TIME-HACKS DEALING WITH THE PASSPORT OFFICES ALL HAVE BEEN STRANGELY DELETED BY GOOGLE -- OR SOMEONE WITH MINISCULE GENITALS -- AND I DO NOT FEEL LIKE REPEATING MYSELF. BUT THE HINTS I POSTED CAN BE EACH SEARCHED INDIVIDUALLY ON (ironically) GOOGLE. BON CHANCES.
Almost nobody there. It's like the mall that time forgot. However... In the men's bathroom, people get very friendly... I even had a stranger look under the stall at me. I can only guess that he was trying to be neighborly. There was one guy at the urinal for 15 minutes consecutively... I think he was setting a world record... From what I gather, this is a common occurrence in this mall. If ever there again, I will refrain from making use of the said restrooms, but... I wish them the best...
I went to Service Canada office. The people working there were very nice and very helpful. They helped me get some documents through the use of their computers. They helped me set up an account that I needed, to access the information. They also helped me print this information off. I had been told at another office that I could only get this information by having it mailed to me. After 4 months of running around and getting nothing I finally had someone at the government do something for me.
This review is geared towards the passport office located inside. Staff is incredibly rude, overly serious, no Smiles, no thank yous, barely a please. I understand it's a passport office but I've never felt so uncomfortable and saddened by staff in a long time. Absolutely depressing experience, but I needed to get my passport in this is the closest location. note, no free parking of any kind nearby. There are like six free spots on Jervis + Cordova but it's still a 15-minute walk away
Service Canada Centre, Passports, Immigration, EI, CPP, OAS. All services required for Federal Government, Applications, Questions etc. Do not take Security Answer, to your requirements of visit. They are only giving you a General Overall Explanation. Speak Directly to a Public Service Worker for your Factual Independent Right & Information pertaining to your Circumstantial Situation. Welcome to Canada, have a Great Day Eh !! Bon Voyage !!
This is a heritage building in downtown Vancouver. There are shops and offices in the building which serves as a small mall. Most notably, the Passport Office is here in the Lower mall. The Passport Office is well organized. There are staff that help people to be in the right lanes and windows. This saves time for people who come here once in five or ten years. I was quite impressed with the help I got.
Your life is so empty and you're very very good at lying about your true income or your very very rich then this is the most appropriate place for you be my guest and enjoy trying to feel like a million dollars while you have an amazing inability to care for the less fortunate just a small feeling of disdain surfaces if ever you're had to find yourself crossing the same path in line with the inevitable.
The Beautiful modern metal and glass structure is juxtaposed between two historic Downtown Vancouver warehouse buildings. It was one of many treasures we found in Downtown Vancouver, where at first, it appears that they must have torn everything old down to allow for all the glass towers. There is actually a beautiful balance of the old and new if you take the time to walk and look.
Visit to passport office. Lots of ppl in line. They are still very disorganized, but, must better than earlier in April when I visited. Today there were signs for different line ups and security guards and agents walking around directing people. The passport office is government facility and mask is still mandatory, which is good. We are still in the middle of the pandemic afterall.
I am very disappointed how security in the front table behave, we all been waiting hours in the line, and she lets someone with same race with her get the service ahead of me. This is not how you work in government in Canada all are equal and all needs treated the same no matter what others are! I’m trying to bring this to government concerns since Canada is a diverse country!
I was here to get my first Canadian passport. I went around noon and was surprised that it wasn't too busy. I had to wait in line for about 5 minutes for the screening/ quick check. The officers were very nice and helpful. Then I got a number and waited another 15 minutes to get called again for the processing and payment. I got the passport in the mail in less that 2 weeks.
With government services in the building there should be wheelchair accessible parking available - not everyone drives a car - some people who use wheelchairs drive vans that cannot fit underground. Nor can they park next to the Train Station (Waterfront) or they will be towed. This lack of accommodation is really sad to see.
Came to Sinclair Centre to renew a passport, so from that standpoint, the visit fulfilled its purpose. Better known for grouping several government services in this Downtown Vancouver location, the offices at Sinclair Centre are the major draw. There are a few retail options as well; however, foot traffic is never busy here.
This passport office is great. I'm from a small town on Vancouver Island and we definitely don't have a passport office there. I put my application in on a Thursday, not even 10 days later it was processed AND delivered to my house by regular mail. My parents on the island had to wait 3-6weeks for theirs to come!
Typical wait times for the passport office I'm assuming from the line movement. Only realized after 20 minutes that passport pickups don't need to wait in the 'regular' passport line-up. Be sure to walk up to the security desk and mention you're there for a pick up. I was in/out within 5 minutes after doing this
Must have registered on my maps timeline as I was walking by to the waterfront station. I have not stepped inside since I had my passport done there ten years ago. Unless i was there for something else. I might remember later. All in all, friendly respectful fellow visitors and others at the building.
Make an appointment and you will be much, MUCH happier! Very quick (30mins) and easy (have all your paper work ready) getting through to get my husband an emergency passport... had to make an appointment month and half in advance, but we did it and the Canada Passport Office staff were awesome!!
Talk about your downtown towers if inhadnt known that the Prime Minister justin trudeau mom was ms sinclair them perhaps I may not have worshipped at this altar or wealth and fabulous riches as much as I did. This is the building of one of western Canada's wealthiest individual pre 1970s
One of the few remaining heritage buildings downtown saved to keep giving into the future. The main vendor here is the Government of Canada passport office, always busy and full of people. Go early and save lots of time, opens at 7am most days, grab a Starbucks and wait your turn.
The Sinclair centre is one of those architectural wonders that kind of takes you off guard. You go in to deal with the government and you kinda just stew in your own funk. Then you notice how beautiful the building is and the culture of the place overwhelms you.
Very aesthetic architectural layout smack in the downtown core of VANCOUVER. A great place to sit down in a very "cozy" chair to hold a telephone conversation or do online work. Facilities are extraordinarly kept clean. Houses major Goverment. offices.
Very friendly and organized at passport office. Security officers helped everybody to receive the best service. The wait list to see the officer was 1-2 hours, but super active. All 23 counters were open for services. Thank you for helping me.
The elevator access to go to lower floors is open without any access card. But you can’t go back up to ground floor without access card! which is very weird. Their guide board is confusing and unclear. There is no information desk to guide.
It's pretty sad place in midst of the pandemic. Leone finally closed down after decades of time there. The offices are close and the whole building is very quiet. Parking is at $4.25 for half an hour. It is cheaper to park on the street.
The beautiful Sinclair building is one of Vancouver's landmarks it's a historical building as well as having shops inside for shopping but I just went there to renew my passport but that's not to say that it's not a beautiful building
They seem to have a mess when handling the services they offer, they give you an appointment and even if you have to line up, they also don't have a waiting room for elderly people, those who already know bring their own chair.
Very good service. I went there to get registered for a SIN. I doubted of it will get to my turn since I got there around 3:20pm and there were so many people there. Luckily, i was called before it was even 4pm! Great service!
Guards are really helpful, and you get the SIN done in the same day, but being one of the central locations its very crowded for non apointment walkins. Go by 7.45 if u want your turn to come up within the hour of opening.
Passport office, opens at 8:30 am You can start Qing up and get docs checked in pre clearance room about 7ish . As I got there at 8:10 and there was 50 people ahead of me . Was out by 9:30 . So not bad . Thanks staff
Quite a nice little mall, in theory, but it's got no street presence and mediocre shops. I had to go in for UPS but stuck around to look at all the wonderful skylights, an old click, and nice atrium space.
Security guards here are grumpy, old, racist, and have a terrible attitude. I only asked one question politely and they gave me a rude response. They have no respect and zero people skills!
A beuatiful building used predominantly by the Canadian government. It's underutilized and used to have a food court. As well, they did not put the chairs back after Covid. It's ashame.
Terrible waiting time up to 1.5h every day . Was told to go to the other office on Broadway because there is no wait there. There was long line up too. Thanks for accurate information
There's no more food court, can't get a cup of coffee or even sit down as there are no seats. So sad to see this once beautiful and busy venue turn to this sad ghost building.
Well it's a Great Place to Shop, it's a bit Pricey But the way it's built with the walkways and different levels to explore makes it a Interesting Building to Shop and Visit ❤
Helpful staff. All were available for directions which was great especially if you haven't been to the building before and needed to find the offices I was looking for.
Passport office, photo shop, other stores and offices and a beautiful courtyard with tables and couches where anybody can go for the lunch break. Charming building too.
It's a quiet lack of foot traffic Centre. Some retail fronts are empty. Leone is closing soon. There is a fascinating clock bell in the center of the building though.
Used to be a fun mall with food court. Now simply offices and some basic shops. Considering washrooms in the area are in short supply, great place for a pit stop.
The mall basically is only for service Canada and other passport related things. Still very nice I love the clock in the centre and everything is very pretty!
Historic building housing government offices and some high end clothing boutiques. Well maintained. Underground connection to the Waterfront Skytrain station.
Been here today August 30. The lady at “Booth 15” was very understanding and nice, processing all my docs neatly. She made my day ;””; worth of waiting. Thx
Unless you’re looking to renew your passport or the services of Service Canada, there isn’t much here. There are a few shops but this mall is pretty dead.
I had to come here for the 10 year VISA, I got lucky that no one was really there but then again I went asap on a work day for most. Strategic Planning :)
Its too busy here every time one may have to spend a whole day to walkins in centre but its clean and tidy. Sky train and sea bus is available near to it
Love this building. When I have to wait in line for last minute passports, I don't even mind. The architecture is awesome. I love the giant old clock.
I am sad to see that this historical building is not a big draw anymore. It would be great to see if they could bring something fun and exciting here.
If you love Early Vancouver history or enjoy up scale shopping, Sinclair Centre is a must visit. Past and present elegantly fused in a coherent whole.
Relatively quiet. Crowds are small. Passport and Service Canada offices are here as well. Usually not as packed as other offices around Vancouver
Only went to Service Canada, surprisingly quick service considering workload, very polite and very helpful. Made Government offices look good.
5 stars because it is usually calm in here. A good place to go, look at old architecture and have a relatively quiet sit down if timed right.
I was at a gov't office. Surprisingly it took less than 15 minutes to complete the task I was there to complete. I got fast efficient service
You can go to this center for getting the sin number. They staff is really helpful and you will get that in 15-20 mins depending on the rush.
COVID protected fast service amazing bulding is so amazing love it big time if you ever around do visit it viva la bc city well done …
I went to apply for my passport at Sinclair Centre and the line up was ok. I would recommend that location instead of the other offices.
Very well organized, very nice employees . I sort the passport application quickly, in 2 hours I was done even the queue was very long.
Best wellness centre on the planet, they actually care. I feel like a new person after every visit. Looking forward to my next visit.
Wow in and out in less than 15nin for new passport! Now I must wait 13 days to pick it up. Nice surprise Not what I was expecting.
The guards who work here are very nice and treat you well when you need to wait for a long time before the government offices open
Wow, this place is amazing. Like one of the heritage buildings in the City. Came here to renew my passport in Service Canada.
Trying to get my passport figured out got my photos taken there for my passport have to go back to get my passport expedited
One of the most beautiful heritage building in the heart of Vancouver. Well maintained and super clean. Highly recommended.
I’ve done my work permit process with them and It was quick and successful. They are very professional and efficient team.
Parking not so good here. Staff at the passport office are truly amazing. Cheers to Kenny for going way above and beyond.
Super friendly staff at the Canada Services. A corner of history, the building's interior is as beautiful as its outside.
Dying mall. Other than Leone, mostly federal government offices now. However still an architecturally beautiful building.
Not much in this mall other than Leone and the Canadian passport office. It could be very nice but currently it is dead.
Nice clean mall, it was nice to be able to walk in the enclosed area. It contains many shops, store and a food court.
Very quiet mall with a passport office and food court options. The security here is pretty serious for some reason.
Its clean and staff are very helpful but you should make an appointment before you go but there is walk in as well
Couldn't do what I needed to do there but that's because of covid restrictions, I should have set an appointment.
Nice & Clean. Good service. Answer every question. Very fast. If you prepare everything. It will be super fast.
There is no food or coffee here. But it is a beautiful building, and the Service Canada staff are really nice.
Toilets need to be kept clean.I can only speak about the gents side. Management should pay attention to this.
Passport place, Service Canada, passport picture place. Quiet and relaxing area, plus is a historic building
Nice building. The concrete floor they provide you to sit on while waiting for your passport is sensational
Nice shopping center, there is a Canadian Passport Office in it if you need one or if you need it renewed.
It's a beautiful building. Not many shops inside but a really nice place for government related services.
This is historically a Passport Canada office I am visiting this place to renew my passport since 1995
Went to re-new our passports, excellent, speedy service. The Center itself has lost what it once was.
I met the friendliest and coolest security person there and I love how classic and chic this place is
they got good shopping and Canada passport service too, thank you google map plus navigation guild ..
Convenient to have a no appointment office for passport in town. Spent a bit more than 2 hrs there.
Went to get Passport renewal. Get there in the morning. Less wait time. Not much else to see there.
Very quiet, under utilized retail space. Few signs so difficult to find businesses and offices.
Really interesting building beautiful architecture well worth just going to have a look at it
Very nice place. There is a Passport photo place right across from the services Canada place.
I didn’t go inside today but I did enjoy the beautiful architecture and memories I have here.
Very quiet these days which makes it a great place for relaxing, and daydreaming. …
The staff was amazing did my papers so fast. I had an appointment so I went smoothly …
Excellent selection at the food fare, Dollarama,BC Liquor Store, Jewelry & Novelty Store's.
Perfume Shoppe. Love love ❤️. Always come away with the best quality perfume. Thank you
I'm sure it's great, if you're there for any other reason than passport renewal......
Not much inside. Decent path to the skytrain station if you're avoiding the weather.
Getting a passport, then this is the stop for you.. Fast service, helpful staff
Went to passport office at lower mall. Very easy to find. Pay parking around.
The staff was very nice when applying for the certificate, thumbs up!
