They should have a security person at the door. There is a lot of theft in the parking lot of this place and inside/outside the store theft occurs often so, be aware when you arrive to the store parking lot there, and be sure to lock you car windows and doors if leaving your car in the lot parked and also don't leave your strollers or any belongings unattended by the front if the store..my baby stroller was left pRked right in front if the entrance door and it was stolen during bright and sunny day time around lunch *+2 noon-ish) - and, it was a horrid experience. .the manager on duty just acted stupid and completely useless - for example, when asked about any security personnel Avail for assistance and if there are any security cameras placed at the front entrance if the building to trace the theft, the answers were "no" and "oh, nah, no" ! - -Yikes. Security thete - a bit outdated.

I would give this place a higher review except that the employees here seem very bitter, and hostile toward customers. Especially the Caucasian ones. I was very hurt by one particular heavy set Hispanic cashier, who greeted Hispanic customers with a welcoming hello and short conversations in Spanish. When I reached the register, however, her greeting changed to a set of orders on how and when to remove my card from the machine, she rushed me and became agitated that I wasn't moving fast enough for her. Then, when I finished my transaction, she greeted the next Hispanic customer with a smile. Hispanic animosity toward Caucasians is really creating an uncomfortable environment. I wonder if corporations are doing this on purpose to keep people divided.

I just walked out the store and the cashier by the name adriana rang me up...I did my shopping got in line (one person in front of me and no one behind me) I left my kids in line and went to grab some disposable plates and went thru a small gap to get back on line. She got upset and told me I'm suppose to go all the way around I told her I was already in line so what was the deal. As she was ringing up my food she was giving me dirty look and didnt load my $90 worth of food into my cart like employees usually do. She needs to be taught better customer service regardless of what she suppose to ring up the food and load back into the cart that's her job

This mark's our final holding on our money , ended.. That's right we're now in the process of filling out our bankruptcy forms, we'd like to offer a special thanks to Smart $ Final for making that decision happen for the purpose of breaking up the marriage. Yes now you have shown me how reckless, were we able in careless life's. We are forever changed in our new called acquaintances relationship as I had to pack up, and moved to mom's. I kept Microwave and DVR. Thankfully it is very special folks.

Smart and final is a great store in this neighborhood. Close to many apartments buildings and it has a parking lot, if you have your car with you. This store carries a large variety of milk choices and large size frozen items, I don’t need to go to too many stores for groceries this store carries a lot of stuff I need. Staff are very helpful and fast at the check out lines with customers, I only seen line twice. Outside there is a water refilling station, so the plastic gallons can be reused.

I don't know what the other reviewers are talking about. I find the employees to be unfriendly and just ignore me. So I guess it's just me. I can't even get a greeting or a thank you out of anyone in the store anymore. I've been shopping at this store for years. It's gone to hell in a hand basket as far as I'm concerned. I remember when the employees used to be friendly. I'm sorry, asking "do you want a bag?" - isn't a greeting. Also why don't you clean up your disgusting parking lot.

Good store and decent selection even though it's on the smaller side of locations. First impressions aren't great given the area of town but ione you're inside its clean, well lit, organized and well maintained. The customer service isn't amazing. But it isn't bad. Just okay, they get the job done and honestly I don't need much more then that. Great small store to grab the things you need on the go with a free accessible parking lot.

Great place to shop in downtown area for a reasonable price. The staff is always helpful in telling where to find stuff things do change there some some of the brands might not be there the second time around but the products will be just under a different brand name. But not all the time and First street products are very good. I got the Pastrami from there and the First Street brand and it was Deliciousness

Okay, this time everything was great at the store it's just that it started raining and I didn't have my car and I was hoping they'd let me take the cart back to the church and bring it back but it had lock wheels so I had to walk carry all my stuff. Not their fault, but I was soaked by the time I got back. Hurricane Hilary is really a tropical storm by the time it gets to us.

Our family's been shopping here forever. First my grandmother serving her community and her business. Then I got a job in high school here which helped paid for prom. Then my mother took over my grandmother's business and continues to shop here. And now for my own business I shop here so grateful to have a market so close by that has everything I need even during the pandemic

This smart and final is conveniently located downtown. They have good deals on bulk household and office items. You can find good deals here on cleaning needs, adult spirits, frozen food, and some meat. They frequently have deals on bulk produce and cookware as well. They have plenty of parking, only downside is the lines can take a while if you go during busy hours.

This store has some great selection, prices, and items. Shopping is easy here with great sales. No Membership required. The store is not easily found in the area. Some of the workers are great. There are some workers that need to find another job. It used to be great coming to this store. This store needs an upgrade like the other Smart and Final locations.

This is a decent location. The store is clean and well stocked. I'd say it's a medium sized store. The Point Loma location is larger and has a better variety of items. The only drawback is the street people that tend to hit you up as you exit the store or load your vehicle. If you live downtown, you accept this as normal.

I like the store and a lot of want is there. Its not all bulk buy like other places. I can a get a gallon of milk and a lot of other products in smaller sizes. I think I'm not alone and I see there staff allways restocking there shelves. It's a good deal and a lot of what you need. I like the prices and I do save money.

Well-stocked tiny space here in the east village. They have a small staff so it might be hard to find assistance finding an item. That said, there's an abundance of basics with a variety of each item to choose from. Bread, booze and beverages are the items in greatest variety and with reasonable prices over all areas.

Large selection of items in bulk sizes. Excellent pricing. Customer service above and beyond. Found items the same price as other stores but twice the volume so a great money saver for me. Large frozen selection. Baked goods are delicious and fresh. Check out is fast and friendly.

This is a conveniently located store in the East Village area near Downtown San Diego. They have good prices and free parking. A security guard with a smile will greet you when you enter the store. Don't be in a hurry, because check out can be very slow and painful.

Double check displayed prices vs cash register prices. New info two years later: I accidentally paid $21 for a can opener last week because they cheat you with displayed prices. I thought is was $6.95. Triple Double check your receipt. They steal from customers.

I luv smart and final. They always have what I’m looking for. I can easily blow my weeks paycheck there. The people that work there have always been so nice, too. My cart is usually full of dog food, toys, treats... and the cashiers are always so nice! Ty S&F.

I go to my neighborhood smart and final quite often and some days get dragged in there by my dog. The staff are very nice and friendly and there is a great team work spirit. Prices are very reasonable, I enjoy shopping at this store so does my little buddy:)

This place has some great deals. The management here are great. Very personable, and have actually tended to my requests. Their generic items are SO GOOD. I tried all those first to see. Always parking and sometimes they have special items.

Overall the food selection is fresh and the prices are reasonable. The store is nice and clean and easy to find everything and definitely not as crowded. Checkout lanes are speedy and I never have to wait more than a few minutes.

Cashier Ashenti never wants to help. I was asking help for the locked closet for batteries but she just looked at me and never said nothing even though I tried to talk to her for couple times.

I called ahead and asked if this store had Scotchgard. The person who answered left the phone, returned and said yes. I waisted time going there. Manager said they never did have it. uGH!!!

Fruits and veggies looked fresh, selection on some items was a bit lacking, meaning they had space for the items there just wasn't anything in them. Prices were slightly higher than Vons.

This is a smaller store than the other S&F around here, however, this store carries more of the items I like, & need! So, they've got my loyalty! The associates are friendly, & helpful.

If you go in there for bargain shopping, only certain items are cheaper most of their items are more expensive than other supermarkets I try to stick to the ad sales.

One of San Diego oldest in that area very convenient with plenty of parking. It is well stocked and very clean the staff very helpful and always happy to help
