"Their food does not live up to their name at all"
"Delicious food, but sadly always understaffed! There are usually only two ladies (very friendly and lovely!) who work the front desk & kitchen (by the looks of it) and it means there is quite a wait usually"
"Usually good, but today was extremely disappointed"
"I normally order the chip and cheese roti and most times enjoy it but tonight experience was terrible"
"Saw posts saying "best curry in Hillcrest""
Their food does not live up to their name at all. I ordered a deboned chicken 1/4 bunny and when collecting we were very disappointed of the size of the 1/4 bunny. It is ALOT smaller than most places. After opening and tasting the actual curry it tastes more like chutney stew. There are no potatoes or anything in the curry itself and is definitely not hot at all with very little flavor for R75!! Very disappointed and would not recommend
Delicious food, but sadly always understaffed! There are usually only two ladies (very friendly and lovely!) who work the front desk & kitchen (by the looks of it) and it means there is quite a wait usually. If you come at the wrong time they are quite busy and the food takes long. Having said this, we always return despite the hassle, because the food is worth the wait.
Usually good, but today was extremely disappointed. Ordered boneless 'chicken curry', well it was awful, that was not authentic Durban Curry, wishy washy chicken with a hint of curry powder, definitely not made by the right people, not even one potato, shocking, you need to get you act together. I spent R72 on a watery chicken stew, you are not living up to your name.
I normally order the chip and cheese roti and most times enjoy it but tonight experience was terrible. The chips were hard and dry like they were made this morning and served in the evening and the roti was hard and tasted very old. My wife and I both through our meals away. Going to give some like it hot a miss from now onwards. More
Saw posts saying "best curry in Hillcrest". Evidently there can't be many options for curry in Hillcrest if what we experienced today was normal, because this was not a curry. Ordered quarter mutton bunnies and it was a tasty stew at best but certainly far from a curry. The samoosa was more spicy. Very disappointing.
Because Some like it is about the only curry place in Hillcrest the owner is taking advantage of his customers. He does not offer different portions any more you must take a large mutton curry take it or leave it No more Meduim same with the Bunny chow.. It is just no good. Reynhardt The place has closed down
Ordered deboned mutton roti, what I received for R115 was half potato, 5 small pieces of meat with the rest of the container filled with sauce. Never again will I buy from the kloof branch, very disappointed and feeling ripped off on price. I will go to Spar in Hillcrest and get value for money
The portion size and pricing left me astounded. One can buy a complete chicken (from Spar) at the similar price to Butter Chicken (debatable) portion. Obviously my first time ! Defnitely not supporting them again.

I would recommend you eat elsewhere. The food bought at this Hillcrest branch made me extremely ill, and hospitalised me. The curry was not the best, and neither was the service. Not worth having any food from here.

Suggest that their chef go for a course about durban curry and bunnies. I was very disappointed because I have had from Umhlanga rocks branch and it is worlds apart. Cannot recommend still suffering of heartburn after Rennies and bicarbonate of soda
I ordered the lamb shawarma that is advertised on the banner. Firstly it was not a shawarma it was a wrap and probably the worst thing I’ve ever eaten. The lamb was like cubes of rubber the sauce was like a mix of sauces that was absolutely
The best butter chicken bunny chow! Absolutely delicious. I always order a few of the quarter bunny chow and they put the butter chicken in a separate container so I can enjoy for dinner and for lunch the next day!
This was the worst chicken and prawn briyani I’ve ever had. It was just a smoosh mess and the spices were not on parr at all abs the price is almost double their mutton briyani. Will definitely never order again!
Tried the broad bean bunny today. The curry was tasty but was wrapped in unsuitable paper which stuck and resulted in a messy ordeal. Was also a bit cold.

Bought a boneless beef curry from them the large curry is more like medium, curry tasted good but had less salt and the meat was tuff not to mention no patatoes and runny tummy the next morning.
Terrible! Order a prawn curry for R170. Get home to find a tub of curry sauce with a few prawns in it, nothing else!! No rice or anything else.

Re-edited review. Previously 5 stars, now, not even a one. Ordered the chip cheese and gravy rotii..Firstly,NO cheese, gravy drenched over stale/old/raw McDonald's (small) fries. Was horrible.
Veg and bean curry always takes so long to make. It tastes like it is being thawed and heated up in a microwave. Definitely not a true reflection of what a bunny should be. Waste of money.
Online menu prices not up-to-date, Very Overpriced for only getting half a potato in the bowl of mutton curry. Was over R175 per head. Much better and cheaper curry available in Durban!
Lost their minds with pricing. Bean curry is double the price of Swaadisht for 50% less volume. Will not be supporting any longer.

Menu has deboned mutton, but they don't offer this. Ordered two quarter bunnies, one was half the size, meat tasted off........ won't order from there again!!!!!!!!!!
Had the deboned mutton curry and the butter chicken. The butter chicken was tasteless and expected the mutton to be a bit hotter as it was a Durban curry after all.
Not one of the better curry places. Tad expensive and doesn't taste as good as others. And had more than one order taste bad. But still worth it if you are craving
My Girlfriend ordered the potato curry and rice, I got the chicken and prawn curry and roti. Absolutely delicious! So flavorful. We both really enjoyed our meal!
Always come back for the deboned 1/4 chicken bunny. Full of chicken, very filling, hot and saucy. Pity we live in England now. Going to miss this!
Who ever took over this place made it suck. Useless staff, rude, food not the same. Used to go there all the time, not anymore since new owners.
Tasty food and friendly service guaranteed. Always worth a stop when in Hillcrest for a treat of curry, roti and naan to take back to the farm.
Truly the best curry I have had. Very friendly staff and they are happy to do any small changes to the dish should you ask in advance.
Food is awesome Can make you sweat, that's nice hot food. Good tast

Very disappointing, portion size for the 1/4 is more like 1/8, and the golden rule of bunny chows was broken... bread was not fresh
Small portion size for the price. 1/4 mutton bunny was tiny and had 4 pieces of mutton. Bunny was also not filled to the top.
What a disappointing first time experience, bunny chow bread was stale, curry was tasteless. Definitely will not recommend
Best curries in Hillcrest. The breyani is awesome. Staff very friendly and efficient. My best place to go for curry.
The curry is delicious. Great services although their drinks are very expensive. # bring down the drink prices.....
There phone just rings and rings .. or permanently engaged tone! Has happen a number of times this week …

The food is tasty and well priced. The cashier was also quite friendly given the late hour of my purchase.
Very fresh, flavourful food. Quick friendly service. We had prawn Masala an roti and butter chicken bunny.
We food someone's tooth in the food and they didnt refund us our money, their staff is rude and arrogant
Always such great food and good traditional curries. Another great reason to live in South Africa.
Absolutely delicious mutton curry. Will definitely be back. Excellent service. Thanks so much.
Great tasting bunnies but poor value for money since our last visit and the menu revision
The butter chicken was a tub of sauce and 9 pieces of chicken. 90 bucks, feel ripped off
Portion is extremely small. Naan bread was hard. Not an experience to be repeated
Taken over 30 minutes to get a chicken and prawn curry. No key for the toilet
Excellent chicken n prawn quarter bunny. Make sure to ask for it hot hot!!
Enjoyable curries and good samosas. I might get some more samosas today!
Tasty food, service is good. Waiting time a bit long, but worth the wait
Very expensive and bang average food. Potatoe somoosa are quality though
The food here is super yummy but for the price you would expect more.
Very tasty but limited choices when we ordered due to out of stock
