I'm a Mortgage Broker & Realtor. Customer service is my main skill set. I'm emphatic about service and great customer experiences. Relationship building is my main strength in my business. This team established that. This cafe has always been a trusted, & welcoming group of coffee experts. The service has always been great. They've always warranted a great review, but yesterday & today they really showed their true colors: We all have challenges to deal with at this time in our present atmosphere. I'm sure everyday we wish for a little easier day than the one before. Yesterday I had placed an order for 2 coffees, 2 muffins, and 2 warm breakfast items. I arrived, was greeted with a welcoming hello and good morning. I picked up my food and proceeded towards my car. As I entered my vehicle, I spilled a venti white mocha all over myself. My car. avoided the food somehow, but still had coffee everywhere. I promptly cleaned myself up as best I could, threw away the empty coffee cup and shamefully walked back inside the cafe for a few napkins. This was my error and never expected to hear the offer I was given by the baristas: "Would you like another coffee Eric? We can make it now for you, we are sorry to hear that YOU SPILLED YOUR COFFEE and we'd like to make you a new one, free." My heart sank. In this moment, I was in full ownership of my clumsy act and didn't feel I deserved such a generous offer. I had to decline since time was of the essence... (My wife was at home waiting for her coffee, and breakfast so she can proceed to help her office navigate the day of challenges ahead). I needed to get home and make sure my wife had a good start to the day, while I'm covered in coffee. The baristas wished me a good day and offered to keep my name and order ready for my next trip to them, as they dedicated a free coffee to me. I smiled and thanked them. My embarrassment felt a little less of a sting, after receiving such an offer. This morning I placed my order as my wife and I have another early scheduled day and getting breakfast is a priority for us both. I opened my Starbucks app. Placed an order for 2 breakfast items, a muffin, 2 coffees. Yes I ordered the same venti white mocha I spilled on myself the day before. I arrived at the cafe and made my way through the entrance and was greeted IMMEDIATELY. "Good morning Eric!! We have your order here and something else.." The young barista had a card in her hand and placed in my drink tray. "Here ya go! We wanted to make sure the next coffee is on us." JAW DROPPED. I began to thank them and insist that the spill was MY FAULT. They didn't have to gift me a coffee. They did everything right and I made the error. "We know and it's ok. We've all been there" the baristas began to explain. "We all know how it is. Spilling your coffee is a difficult start to the day, it can throw the whole day off. Please, take the gift." I can't tell you how thoughtful this act of kindness has been. I'm a Mortgage Broker & Realtor. Customer service is my main skill set. I'm emphatic about service and great customer experiences. Relationship building is a major strength in my business. This team established that. Cemented it. I highly recommend you take the time to realize the good service when it's given. It's expected, sure. But identify it and show thanks. These baristas have provided a moment of positivity that will trickle into my business. " The service was, as it always is at a Starbucks, a masterful performance. I am in awe at how the batista crew are able to hold up such convincingly humongous smiles at 5:43 A.M. "This goes against basic human nature." I muttered to myself as I stoop behind what appeared to be a zombie about ready to order. I had to make sure I wasn't seeing things, so I turned around to ask the person behind me if I was. "I was - - - in the zombie apocalypse!" The entire line of patrons behind me were all zombies just like him! I began to reach for my trusty butterfly knife that I kept concealed in my right pocket but before I could ready it for its first kill something distracted me. "Next! It was the voice of a happy little batista girl patiently waiting for my order. I said the words: "Caaaaaaarmel Maaaaaaccoitta" And the next thing I knew my credit card was being ran and her smile was back and bright as ever on her face screaming for me to get moving. I picked up on the subtleties and fell into the pile of others who had done the same to wait for my name to be called. I saw something that opened my eyes and made me glad to have not dulled my blade on the people in line only moments before. It was the zombie in front of me holding a drink and to my surprise no longer a zombie. The remedy was in the sweet nectar only found at your local star--+ "Mike! Quad shot vente Carmel Macciatto! " "Mike! Quad shot vente Carmel Macciatto! "

I'd have the say that one of the best Starbucks locations on the West Coast other than one in Santa Barbara, CA. One of the employees named Sean was such a good gentleman and by memory, he'd happen to know what you like to drink. he was very polite but that goes for everyone working there. Love the employees at this location. He always knew what green tea I'd wanted with honey even before I can open my mouth. Giving that a score of A+++ Everyday I had to go there due to Hi International Hostel Wi-Fi down the street was amazingly slow but everyday for the ext 12 days while I was in San Diego, felt at ease and happy to be in a Starbucks for once. But it wasn't just Sean but everyone at the 10th and Market location for treating people with kindness even when a customer or three were not so kind to you but were just flat right out RUDE. You guy deserve bonus in a pay raise. (^_*) But I was sad to leave today back to France but I'll visit again in the future for sure and hope the same people are still at this location.

Gabby and Miko (please dear lord, I hope I remembered your names right with my muddy brain) made my day today in the best way possible!! I’m so impressed with the integrity and honesty; I never thought I’d see my phone again. Additionally, their cold brew coffee with oat milk is literally the best ever. 10/10 customer service, professionalism, and experience. Thank you both, you made a difficult holiday weekend better for this tired hospitality worker. You guys are amazing. Great people still exist in the world, and two of them are right here at your neighborhood Starbucks! Give these two a raise!!!

I drove a long distanceto get at downtown, I needed to use the restroom so bad and I saw Starbucks right in the corner. Im a regular Starbucks customer everywhere and I was never denied to use the restroom if I didn't purchase first. There where like 10 people in line to make their order. And I told her I was gonna buy something but not to be able use the reatroom.l, and I needed yhe code to use it in that moment becaise I couldn't hold it more. She was not going to give me the code until I got little mad that I had to go in front of everyone. So she gave me the code. Does this happen every Starbucks in San Diego or even worse the whoke state of California? In Arizona will never do that to you.

Lost my ticket for a mobile order, instead of a apology the manager asked me to check it on my phone again while I had my receipt on my phone starting at her. I did not appreciate being talked to like I didn't order it right, when clearly someone lost my ticket. She finds the receipt two seconds later and was treated politely at all. An employee made my frap and sandwich just sitting there in the back, did not call my name. After 25 minutes of waiting I finally get all my order. No "thank you have a nice day" or nothing, I thought Starbucks was better than that

Asked for a cup of hot water and was told they don’t sell water cups by themselves, because a customer has previously thrown hot water at their employees. The woman at the cashier also said she could sell me the hot water only if she sold it to me with tea bags on the side, basically charging me for a drink I’m not going to drink. I left without anything. I walked to this location for the convenience that it was close to where I was parked, but the customer service is not that great and this isn’t run like other Starbucks, someone probably bought a franchise of Starbucks to run their own, who knows. First and last time I come here.

I went in this location about 8 days ago. Now mind you I always went to this location till the pandemic hit. I’ve been back a few times and it went well. On this day I go 5 employees working. No customers. Not one person greeted me. There where 2 female employees at the register I just stood there waiting for them to take my order, but they didn’t they just kept talking to each other and they knew I was standing their they looked at me. Finally a young man that was making phone order drinks came to the register to take my order. Next time I will get names. If I ever go back.

I find the are employees here are rude an very judgemental on what and who there customers are with a very unwelcoming demeanor and overall attitude. I went in one day after working outside I was a little dirty and had my work bag they assumed I was homeless an I was treated very badly an service was very uninviting. Staff here me to see ppl come from all walks of life don't judge a book by it's cover and not ask homeless are disrespectful of dirty I found some has bad luck but still hold themselves with respect and just want the same.

It's true your experience depends greatly on the people you deal with, but the employees were genuinely nice. I ordered 2 of those flat breads on display, spinach and cheese pizza flavored. Perfect lunch, with a strawberries and cream frappuccino. After sitting down, I went back to the barista and asked if they just use cow milk by default in their drinks, he said yes, and I just mentioned that I normally request soymilk (not expecting a refund or exchange), and he offered to make another one with soymilk and I accepted! I'm a regular at Starbucks in Texas & the experience at this location in San Diego was horrific. The "barista" could not get a simple order placed correctly. I left and had my friend go in to order because I will not return the favor of rudeness but I NEVER desire to go to this location again. Nice area. Service should be first rate. Really disappointing. There was an adorable poster of pics of the k9 regulars that order their puppuccino. That is literally the only positive thing to say about this Starbucks location.

Not sure if the staff was fully trained or not but service at the register was extremely slow. Once I received my coffee I walked to the cream and sugar area and there wasn't any creamer. So I walked back to pick up area to ask for cream and was ignored for a few minutes. As I was waiting for there seemed to be an issue with each guest that was in there. Drinks not prepared properly, didn't have this or that, etc etc. Might have been an off day for this team but the review is worthy my time.

I had the house blend coffee. I was good for a perked cup of coffee. But the feel in the air is so different than it was before. Always was a laid back easy going kind of place. Not anymore thou. Feels more like a business that has a cheap way of doing things. The bathrooms are locked now and they don't want to waist the power on the customers. The plugs are all gone. THat's just all to cheap for me. We didn't stay, left, and went to Pete's in Hilcrest. You can still plugin here.

Last day of vacation in San Diego, noticed a huge bubble on the side wall of our mini van. With 350mi to drive back to Phoenix and my family, I looked up the closest firestone. The service manager (Vic Benneian ) was great, took care of us quickly and gave us a great discount on the new tire. This was one of my best experiences at an out of town auto service center. I would recommend this firestone to everyone.

This Starbucks is so gross. Literally flooded with creepy homeless people, and filled with disrespectful employees who turned the lights out on everyone in the store to signify it being time to close. There's an employee there who took his smoke break right in front of the entrance at the trash can. Overall, this is just a really bad location, with scary people, and completely unprofessional employees.

Shawnee & Zion made our entire month! We are regulars and have been here since 2020 and they not only remember us but took care of us precancer surgery hooking us up beyond when we were struggling. Very kind and efficient and caring customer service at this location!! They even know my children by name which always makes a mom's heart melt..

There is one floor outlet to be had if you are a regular and know where to find it. Otherwise avoid this place but for the endless stream of homeless that loiter and steal endless amounts of food and snack from this place at the total obliviousness to staff and even the police who come here. Quite the joke. But staff is friendly and they have a clover machine...brownie points for that at least.

Love getting coffee here just wish you guys would pay attention. When someone is ordering smaller drinks with more shots it’s for a reason. So don’t think you’re doing us a justice by giving us a venti because we asked for more shots. It ruins the drink. I ask for more shots to help with the 5 GALLONS of milk you add to your ventis. Once again have ruined the whole drink for no damn reason.

I've been here for numerous espresso drinks, cold coffee drinks, hot coffee drinks, free fast wifi & all the pretty women that come in too. Tall ones, short ones, skinny ones & my favorite plump ones "HEALTHY & STRONG LOOKIN' TYPE". Right on the corner of Market & 10th in downtown San Diego. My experience inside was pleasant but as I stepped outside to give a homeless man a cup of coffee the corporation called the police to have us removed I spoke with the officers that came and let them know that I was inside having a cup of coffee and I was just giving this gentleman a cup of coffee cuz he looked like he needed it so they said that I could stay but he had to go

I have never been so thrilled as I was the day the barista and I said in unison, "If it was a snake it would have bit ya!" LOL The quality of staffing at this location more than enhances the total coffeehouse experience and makes me look forward to my next returns. I can't wait to see what those amazingly talented and witty baritas will bring to the table next. ❤☕

Went into Starbucks to and orders 2 drinks and 2 sandwiches. Wait for 30 minutes for the drink and asked for the sandwiches. They said they never charged me for the sandwiches, however on my items orders stated 4 and so did my bank account. Still didn’t get my sandwiches. They are unorganized and horrible service. I will never use that Starbucks again.

Like always the coffee was great, but I was extremely disappointed at the fact that there are no electric outlets in the wall I was expecting to go there for great coffee and charge my phone before going to work but was unable to do so four stars for this review and I hope that they put in electric outlets just like every other Starbucks I have been to

It was first thing in the morning. I couldn't sleep so I thought I would be adventurous and explore the walkways of Market in downtown San Diego! Piece of cake, but I was wishing I had some spare money for a pastry. Nope, headed down to 12th and Imperial for the trolley. San Diego always delivers as well as this Starbucks location.

Customer service can really go a long way. I felt extremely unwelcome as I walked in with 15 minutes til close tonight. I even asked if they were already closed, given the horrific look on their faces. Instead of an answer, I received a very passive aggressive "what would you like?" Just rude. I'm offended. Bad service, bad image.

If you are someone like me that needs a power outlet so that I can spend a few hours and work on what ever I need to work for. STAY AWAY from this place as they Intentionally sealed off all their power outlets for their customers. Otherwise, just your average Starbucks. Oh and the restrooms need a code as well to enter as well.

I bought two strawberry shake for $10.50 and it didn’t taste even strawberry came back to the store however the worker was nice and give me chocolate shake instead but it was worse than strawberry. All it was too much ice in the water. I don’t know how Starbucks lasted so long with such worse business they have here.

Bora Bora type music - anything that reminds me of "The girl from Ipanema" is going to put a smile on my face in the morning. Bright and cheery batista. Crusso and clean, compared to what East Village is known for. Plus I don't have to wait in line, since my friend waited in line, while I got a smoothie next door

Anyway coffee was supposed to be happy hour buy one get one, but they wouldn't honor it without a gold card, (not mentioned in ad), so was highly disappointed. Friendly service and quick. Can have a lot of homeless though depending on the day. Not the place to have outlets if they want to control loitering. On that note not the place to go if you need a quick charge for your device. Some of the friendliest staff around!

Always have loved Starbucks. This location is in a very busy part of downtown San Diego so no matter what time a day you are most likely going to have a line to wait in. That's the only reason I give it a 3 and not more.

The staff here are GREAT! I come in everyday and the staff treats you like family. They are always quick to offer you a free sample of drink, which is great for me since I get the same thing every day. Trenta Green Tea!

A nice and large Starbucks location in downtown. It's rarely too busy and there's lots of seating inside. The prices aren't as high as those Starbucks locations at the surrounding hotels.

Good place to have quick morning coffee if you are staying in Gas Lamp district on your trip to SD. Downside would be no parking and street is one-way.

This shop seems nice and clean. Parking and homeless persons issues are common in downtown. A little better at this location since it's further away.

Dog friendly and pretty chill place to hang. We came in from Vegas and had our pet with us. Nice to know all the locals had there pets here too
