I stop by Sullivan's frequently on my way home from the Office because I find beauty in the neighborhood and beautiful indigenous Indiana plants not to mention warm friendly service in both the storefront and the garden, but I especially love the garden. Earlier in October 2021, I had just missed the big mums sale, however, I purchased the twin to this beautiful concrete planter to showcase what I thought was a perfect pink mum. Yes, I saw, the other twin during my visit, but, he was filled with the beauty's that are in bloom pictured here, so, I didn't inquire for purchasing. But, nearing the end of October, I returned to purchase a leaf blower, and moseyed on out to the garden where the twin planter was still there, so, I inquired, as to its availability and if it were the same price I had purchased its twin at, and to my surprise it was, and to my further delightful surprise the plants in it which are the pink blooming flower pictured here were included, no price increase. And, guess what else, the pink blooms go to sleep at night, and open during the day...What a beautiful free treat! If you live in the area of Broad Ripple or Meridian Hills, Rocky Ripple, heck anywhere on the Northside, even Carmel, stop in to see the indigenous garden at Sullivan's over on N Pennsylvania, you won't regret it!
Don't want to come back here. If I have to go the distance to another hardware store so be it! I've made few trips here cuz they closed the Ace Hardware on 39th and Illinois that was in our neighborhood and this is next closest. Went to make a purchase yesterday and white folks (the exception of a young lady that was the cashier; she was very nice and helpful) act like they don't want black people in their store just cuz they're in the Meridian-Kessler area. Plus because this location is a smaller store they don't have much of a selection and the prices are high as hell. I will go the distance to Lowes, Menards, or Home Depot if I have to. I'm not handing my money over where I'm not welcomed!
It's more than a hardware store. They have different events all throughout the year at each location. I love taking my grandkids to ride the train in fall and at Christmas. It's so festive during Christmas. They even have a restaurant inside. The employees are always helpful and friendly. If I lived closer I'd probably get a part time job there. Get on their website and check out everything. They have the best selection of Christmas trees too. Can't say enough good things about them.
I love little place. It smells of a hardware store. That smell that makes you want to buy a new hammer and grill during the same visit. Not to mention one of their antique sodas RTD. It’s in a gorgeous part of town and the gas station across the street has decent price gasoline. It’s a win win at this store. Only downfall is they don’t service Stihl (I think) and they don’t always have what you need. Regardless, always shop local first. It’s worth the time and money.
Staff here are so very helpful and polite. This fact makes this hardware store stand out among the big chains. At a place like Lowe’s, I have a hard time finding someone to ask questions to or get help from. Here, the staff are so eager to help you and go over and above. Also, they have always had what I need when I go there. Thank you to a great local business!
Shoutout to Carol! My first time gardening and she helped me understand what I needed to do. She wasn't afraid to tell me if I had a bad idea, but was also willing to help me with my bad idea if I really wanted to do it anyway. Seemed super-knowledgeable and was very patient with me. Carol, if you're reading this: my plants made it home safe.
I normally love purchasing plants for my business at this location as they have a beautiful greenery. However, I went this morning and received immediate awful service. I don't know if the staff is just sleepy this morning, but everyone outside in the garden area was very unwelcoming. I instantly decided not to spend my money here today.
I came in with my niece and my dog and i was blown away by the kindness of the staff. The service was 10/10. Such kind people there. We bought 3 pansy flowers. It was so fun for me and my niece and the awesome staff really helped make the experience. Thank you guys!!
Just a great business overall. Knowledgeable staff and reasonable prices. Not to mention the fact that it's pretty much the only hardware store close to residential housing. Nice to be able to get what I need without driving 30 minutes out to lowes or Menards!
Very wonderful staff that greets you at the door and offer assistant as soon as you walk in the door. That is customer services at its best which I can honestly say you never gets at the bigger retail stores. Thanks ladies and gentlemen keep up the good work.
Smaller hardware store. Have most of what I’ve needed. Most of the staff is helpful. Have a good assortment of plants and seek Christmas trees in the winter. If you live close worth coming here before lowes or even their bigger store on keystone.
In my opinion all hardware stores should be like this -- neighborhood focused, great employees, clean, old fashioned and convenient. I moved from the neighborhood but have never found a better hardware store anywhere. They deserve over 5 stars.
Sullivan Hardware is a pretty small place but very convenient to get in and out and get what you need. I needed trim paint and the staff was very helpful, helped me find the color I need and I was quite happy with my trip.
The customer service is next to none! Fall Mum sale $6. They have great varieties of flowers and a restaurant inside! Love shopping local. Adam Westfall Realtor Westfall Real Estate Group.
Wonderful customer service. There was a mixup in my order and they worked to find a solution to make up for the inconvenience. Highly recommend supporting this store!
Great local hardware store. Decent selection and super nice people. Try to make sure you talk to one of the older guys if you really need help, though!
Very nice hardware and small garden store ! They had red mums which made us happy. The workers were polite and pleasant. This place is a hidden gem.
Everything you want in a Community hardware store never surprised when I run into neighbors and friends here
Love going to this neighborhood store. Knowledgeable. Hire high school kids in the summer
Very personable staff. I had an old lamp repaired for reasonable price. Dog friendly.
