"TL:DR - A surprisingly decent joint for being connected to a hotel if only slightly missing perfect marks"
"Fantastic late night place to get some food"
"Traveling from Florida and was recommened from the locals to check out swine bar and they did NOT disappoint"
I visited Swine Moonshine and Whiskey Bar for Portland Mercury Wing Week 2018. This was my favorite wing of the eleven that I sampled. I would almost describe their Caramel Wings as a 'dessert' wing - they were sweet but with some well-balanced saltiness and mild spice. These large wings were very sticky, (the sauce was definitely honey with what may have been a bit of red Chile?) and despite the sticky sauce, they somehow still conveyed a pleasant crispiness. They were served extremely fresh and held their temperature well. I want more of them. Swine Moonshine, if you read this, I genuinely think they were better than Pok Pok's signature Vietnamese Fish Sauce Wings (which are also amazing), so I sincerely hope that you add the Caramel Wings to your regular menu (presumably at a price higher than Wing Week's $5). Speaking of their regular happy hour menu, I also ordered the Chicken 'Little' Sliders, and they were also exceptional. I have never liked pickles on a chicken sandwich until I had these. I will definitely be back.
After a friend's recommendation, we decided to check out this place post-dinner, and it turned out to be a great choice. I was pleased with the drinks, and what stood out was that they didn't break the bank. The atmosphere was lively and enjoyable. While whiskey isn't my usual go-to, my husband is a fan, so I opted for the Gray Escape—a delightful blend of St. Germain and Prosecco that proved to be quite tasty. Additionally, my husband took on the challenge of joining the whiskey club, striving to order 50 whiskey pours for admission. Living closer might make this achievable, but the sign-up process added a fun element to our visit. Despite the disappointment of Stagg being unavailable (attributed to a shortage beyond their control), our overall experience was positive.

TL:DR - A surprisingly decent joint for being connected to a hotel if only slightly missing perfect marks. A dimly lit and trendy joint which leans a little too hard into what could be described as a "lumber-sexual" vibe. Seating is mostly too short or tall with "just right" being in short supply for people within average height tolerance. A good selection of beverages, a reasonable selection of food, and both are either on or slightly over the mark for pricing. The bathroom situation is a bit awkward so those with sensitive stomachs should possibly figure out a path early.
Fantastic late night place to get some food. The mixed drinks are amazing, one helluva selection of whiskey, and super cool ambience and tunes. The first time I was here was very busy because of a football game, but I'm writing this on a Friday night at 9pm and its not super crowded, but still a good crowd. Bacon cheesecake was outstanding, as was the spinach and artichoke dip and the crab wontons. I highly recommend this place!
Traveling from Florida and was recommened from the locals to check out swine bar and they did NOT disappoint. Excellent food, service and drinks. My husband troed the portla d whiakeh flight which was great, the incline cider was great, and the sangria was amazing. As far as food the tortilla chips and wueo with pork was so great.

This is a very nice upscale, but still comfortable, bar featuring mostly whiskey in the menu but their cocktail list has plenty of options for everyone. Some even include interesting ingredients like chai or matcha flavors! I enjoyed what we got here, the only reason it's a 4 and not a 5 star review is the price tag and crowds. You'll be waiting a while if you try to visit for happy hour or during the weekend.
Joe was fantastic! Very knowledgeable about the different types of whiskey available. The prices were very reasonable on difficult to find bottles. The bar has a few TVs pretty far up on the wall. Overall a very enjoyable experience at the Swine Restaurant.

Holy mother of Jesus this place is amazing. The cocktails are fabulous. The food is amazing. We tried Devils on horseback and ended up ordering 3 more bowls of them. Bacon wrapped, bourbon soaked dates with blue cheese sauce. Heaven. We also tried their bacon cheesecake. Holy cow, another mouthgasm. Will definitely be returning!
Rustic, exposed wood with leather furniture allows this bar to radiate an upscale yet casual vibe. Drinks are hand crafted and unique; the bartenders want to make sure you enjoy the drink and not just spend money. Happy hour prices are great but full price is not bad, $$ for sure.
The fries are pretty good but the wings were meh (we asked for ranch to help with weird taste and they said they didn't have any...thought that was weird). I've been here a few times and sometimes service is great...other times it's non-existent. Hit or a miss kind of thing.
Pretty descent happy hour. Recommend the pulled pork sliders. Brussels sprouts were ok. I feel they could add a bit more acidic flavour to it The drinks were good but nothing stands out amongst other happy hour places in Portland. Our server was tentative and friendly.
We stopped by for cocktails and snacks at happy hour and had a good time. The drinks we tried were all well balanced and the truffle fries were very tasty!

They have Aviation gin! Very good drinks and friendly staff a great place to hang out with friends. Didn't try food. I wish I had gotten the opportunity to try more drinks and the food. What we had was fantastic. Will go back again for sure.
Swine is a nice little whisky bar in the lobby of the Paramount hotel. It has ample seating with a bunch of tv's, but also a bar to sit at as well. They have an enormous list of whiskies to choose from at a fairly decent price. The staff is
Lovely place and excellent service. When we walked in, the bartenders greeted us immediately, which is something I haven't experienced in a while in Portland. I got the impression the employees here are pros and genuinely love what they do,
They have a big selection of what they advertise, but they do NOT make the best foods, nor did they care about us at all. We ordered Tavern Chips-something that by the description seemed it would be fancy nachos. We got a piece of pork
Amazing whiskey and wine bar. I had a flight of Oregon Whiskeys for under $15, although they had glasses up to $380. They served food but we stuck to the drinks. The service were a great help at deciphering the massive drink list.
Nice bar to hangout at. Bartender recommends good drinks. They are accommodative about food. I asked them to remove bacon from Brussels sprouts and they made it happen. Overall great experience.

Classic American cocktail place. Leather bound menus and chairs. For when you want to go to Multnomah whiskey library but you don’t want to deal with all their BS. I didn’t like my drink but I think I chose wrong.
It's a very cool place to have a good time, drinks and especially whiskey are very good. The atmosphere is wonderful and the staff is very cool. Recommended!

Our server was super nice and was very helpful. They were able to accommodate a vegan diet very easily and the food was decent. It would be nice to have items marked on the menu that can be made vegan.
Food was great and filling, whiskey list was extensive. Service was a little slow but really attentive. Would come back …

Super fun hanging out with friends in this downtown bar. Really nice ambiance and feel. Nice service staff. More
Good old fashioneds. Small pub grub type menu, good for sharing. We had the cheese board and deviled eggs.
I had the pork chop and it was quite salty but delicious. Swine old fashioned was yummy too.
