This Target is close to my home. I really like the remodeling they did to this location, which was (for a long time) kinda an outdated and rundown location. The parking lot STILL could use some improvement and some work. It is one of the worst, non-functional, and very unsafe* parking lots of Target of the Albuquerque/Rio Rancho locations (*the lighting isn't great, the asphalt is very bumpy and shoddy and there have been a few instances of sketchy people in broad daylight and darker hours). However, the store is very clean and a lot more open since the remodel. The Customer Service team is on point and very proactive in helping out. I usually see lots of people on the floor trying to clean up and restock things. This particular Target has also improved because they are getting better stocked with their inventory of things. I purchase toys and games and before this location would be the "bare-bones" location and I would usually try to avoid it on my toy-hunts, because I've been let down in the past. However, they seem to keep everything fully shelved; even if it's not what I'm looking for it's nice to see they still offer variety. Their clothing and linens are nicely put together and in an order that makes sense. It does appear that the restrooms did get skipped on the remodel however as they seem just as small and dingy as they were before. It does seem like they have new hardware, but it already seems old and worn-out. Lastly, I'd like to say that I LOVE their Halloween decorations. They seem produced by Corporate and are not gaudy or overbearing at all. Very nice.
As a former Target employee who is now disabled I’m sick to my core about your truly disgusting behavior. I certainly hope the LOD was fired for letting this happen on their shift and whomever was on self checkout who couldn’t be bothered to do their job and assist a paying customer was also sent packing. As retail companies force consumers into the role of employee being forced into self checkout, apparently the Gestapo will come and take you away if you don’t make your time quota. You don’t call the police until you need an armed police response. Was your LP so inept at their job as well? I’m looking forward to seeing the settlement numbers the disabled innocent victim receives. I have already stopped shopping Target due to their false inflation rate that doesn’t match the national average. I guess this is what you can expect from a corporation that’s existence and design is to fleece its customers for as much money as possible rather than providing a paid service.
I witnessed a deeply troubling incident at this store involving the mistreatment of a disabled individual. While the person was attempting to pay for an item at the self-checkout and understandably taking some time to figure out the unfamiliar equipment, the staff showed zero regard for their struggle. Rather than extending a helping hand, they inexplicably called the police. The situation escalated into a distressing confrontation where the disabled customer was handled roughly. I am appalled by the lack of empathy and understanding displayed by the employees. It's clear that there is a need for better training and awareness to ensure that all customers, regardless of their abilities, are treated with dignity and compassion. I would be embarrassed to be associated with this target as a employee and I hope all the employees involved including management are fired and all the staff are retrained properly to be kind and helpful to all customers.
I have been in the retail business for nearly 30yrs and I have helped so many customers, certain ones with disabilities and I’ve always provided great customer service to them. Never in my life have I seen such disgusting customer service, especially on a disabled man who wanted to buy a bike. Instead using the police card, you could’ve provided some customer service and helped this man. The employees who called the cops should also be held accountable for not even helping the man. The cops instead of arresting the poor man could’ve helped him out and said something like “let me help you out there sir” but, power went to their hear and saw the man (who’s name is Matthew) as an easy target. Thankfully one of the officers got fired Officer Kenneth Skeens who was also involved in a deadly shooting on a drunk man. Great job Target for your customer service I’m giving you a huge 2 finger salute.
Ugh I can’t stand the disrespectful employees and profiling yes I’m a guy who wears purses so why did I get stoped by security asking to check my bag?!!! One assets protection probably send them to me because they just don’t show up hello worked has a cashier for Walmart for 3 years you need to be watched to be stopped……..of course didn’t find anything when I asked to speak to the store manger or assistant store manger they just walked away from me went to the front and was being told to clam down I just got accused of stealing with my mother!!!! Then having the recent incident on with the homeless guy, checking out of self, check out and gets arrested for nothing again people at target had to call the cops for them to show up. They just don’t show up out of no where. Target get better with profiling because the people you need to catch y’all ain’t because y’all are to busy profiling.
I need to know why the criminal employee of yours called the cops on an obviously disabled man instead of helping him spend his hard-earned money on a new bike. It should have been a great day in this guy's life but you ruined it with your cruelty toward the disabled. On top of that you pulled the cop lottery and got a wannabe tough-guy psychopath to drag him out, humiliate him when he was so happy to spend his money in your crummy store on a new bike that he was super excited to get before you had him dragged out of the store because you couldn't stand to look at a disabled person for too long. Weaponizing the police is a crime already, but this is really stooping low. I want to press charges on the employee who called the cops on this man. I want to know who the disabled man is so I can make sure he gets his bike, and that he is hopefully alright.
Freaking disgusting . How can you staff be so dumb seriously. You call the cops on a disable man that was taking too long to pay for his items. Now bcuz of this I’m purposely going to target and I will take soooooo long at the self checkout to see if they will do the same thing they did to this poor old man. If I could give you 0 ratings I sure would. Shame on you all you. Im so happy to hear that officer Kenneth Skeens was fired on February of this year. Uuuuuugh this makes me so angry. I hope you guys get drug addicts and crack heads shoplifting in your store on a daily basis. Es que no te digo la gente de hoy en día son como que retardados más que nadie. Vergüenza les debería dar.
This store called the police on a disabled man because he didn’t get through the self-checkout fast enough for them. The man was abused and illegally arrested by the police. I’ve worked in customer service for 16 years and I’m disgusted by the behavior of the employees at this Target. All you had to do was help him. I hope all the employees who were involved in this have been fired. This was illegal discrimination, and just an absolutely disgusting way to treat a person. I also find it abhorrent that Target never put out a statement apologizing for this. Apparently Target condones this type of discriminatory abuse of the disabled.
Love Target!! I can wander around this store for a long time. I see Target as an upgraded Walmart. I love the clothes selections and the work out clothes section too. The JoyLab sweatpants are great! I also found some deals in the clearance section this time. I found some great gluten free options too in the food section. I'm looking forward to have a GF brownie in a cup later tonight. please note... do not try to kick the big red ball outside of Target... those are concrete and I've seen many people injure a foot trying to kick it. If you read this please click "like"... it helps my feelings. Thanks
I believe that I may have discovered a new shopping establishment. Found everything I was in search of. When I entered the store there was a line for miles at checkout with 2 registers open. Numerous of self checkout. When I came up front to checkout there were about 5 registers open,( manned by humans) and the crowd was gone. Good job on management in controlling the front. I know of other stores where they would not have addressed this issue. Target may be a little more on the expensive side but well worth it.
Their employees call the cops on disabled people trying to purchase items at the self checkout. Their employees then stand by while they watch police officers rough up a disabled man who DID NOTHING WRONG and was so scared he called 911. HORRIBLE! All the proof you need to go literally anywhere else to buy anything is all in the bodycam video. THIS STORE NEEDS SERIOUS HELP. An ADA violation for targeting a man for nothing more than having a disability? DISGUSTING. If I could give zero stars, I would.
And she is a law enforcement attorney that was the truth for sure and she is the only one that can do play doh for sure the staff is not allowed to do anything or get anything like that was the truth for sure she can be a little girl for sure and then she can get anything forever and she can get away with it for good for sure and we will get her for sure and then she is still sleeping right now and then we will get her after work for sure and then we want her to get some sleep for sure
They changed the pickup location, and after sitting for 10 minutes I moved and found the new pickup location, unfortunately this was right at closing time, Ryan came to my truck (even though he had just clocked out) and brought me inside to pickup my order. I cannot express enough appreciation for Ryan goin above and beyond to get my order completed even when it was my fault for parking in the wrong place for pick up and he was off the clock… thank you Ryan!
Never have I witnessed such a blatant disregard for customer service and safety more than in this encounter with a clearly disabled man (who was PAYING FOR THEIR PRODUCT) and the so called "public protectors" identified as the Albuquerque Police Department. The On-Duty managers and Head Cashiers for Self Checkout should be ashamed of themselves for not taking the sensible route and assisting Mr.Matthew with his purchase and should be reprimanded.
Didn't know there was a time limit to check out at SELF CHECKOUT. Especially for a disabled person. Or that customer service has pivoted from doing that to filing false police reports all so they can kick back and watch a disabled man be wrongfully harassed, trespassed, and arrested. A hungry ambulance chaser should represent the gentleman arrested to sue this location, the APD, and name the person who made the report in a civil suit.
Disgusting that this store called the police on a customer with obvious disabilities who was just taking longer than normal to pay for his purchases. He should have been offered help, not jail. Thank god the filthy pig who arrested and abused him has been fired. The same should happen to the store manager and the disgusting member of staff who called the pigs in the first place. Absolutely disgraceful. FACT.
Disgusting employees wouldn’t help a disabled man. The guy was struggling to use the Self-checkout and instead of helping him the Racist employees called the Police on him. The police were so abusive to this man, one Cop was fired and charged with multiple felonies. The other Cops faced no charges and got away with their involvement. Recently utilized the new drive up return feature at Target and I now strongly believe all retailers with pickup/drive up options should offer this. They usually have quick service for shopping and order readiness for pickup, and once you’ve arrived the wait time is not long. Target has become my go to when I need something in a timely manner, especially same day within a few hours or less.
First time ever being treat bad by a worker at target . Shopping and no announcements saying that store was closing at ten. She came up and was rude and said we are close now and walked away. As we were leaving after paying shes telling us to leave now. And iPS looking at us like we are stealing while we are paying. Joke target has now become the new walmart low class.
This is the closest target to me i guess it's a first come first serve they are never stalked here and the employees are not friendly especially when asking for help seems like they have a attitude very disappointed the only bright side is the customers are nicer than employees and are willing to help more than the actual employees
To the male employee with the mohawk who was overseeing the self checkout on Jun 10th @ 8am, don’t force me to use self checkout then proceed to stand over me. There are cameras around the store and self checkout for a reason. You being all up on me was gross and you stunk to high heaven. Soap and water should hit you twice a day.
I will be taking my patronage to a different retail store from this point forward. The employees and security love to profile people. If you decide you just want to go in and browse, be prepared for security to huddle by the door and watch you as you walk out. To the guys working security at the Coors location, you're a joke!
Rather than assist him with the checkout process, a manager at this Target decided to call the police on a mentally disabled man struggling to buy a bike. The man had his constitutional and human rights violated all because the manager who was supposed to be assisting with the self checkout didn't feel like doing their job.
Handicapped gentleman wasn’t fast enough on the self checkout tills, so they called the cops…. Seriously, called the cops and had them drag him out and roughed him up, instead of assisting him. If you get fired at the self checkout, just hope you don’t run into the three cops who serviced the poor guy. Video is online.
This company will call armed thugs to remove you if they feel you don't fit in here. They appear to hire the worst kind of humans imaginable to work for them. Deliberately called armed thugs to physically remove a customer who was taking too long to make a legal purchase. Law suit pending for this store and the thugs.
If you take too long at the self checkout, they will literally call the police on you and have you wrongfully arrested and beaten by the police. Every employee here is evil and should be in prison. They have a clear bias against mentally handicapped people. This is so wrong. Disgusting and absolutely inexcusable.
Sickening ableist people. So glad I’m not from New Mexico or at least this part where they treat disabled people like literal animals. No humanity in this store they like to call the cops on innocent people because they are impatient and disgusting human beings. Waste of breathe waste of life. Don’t come here.
Let us not forget that this place called the cops on a disabled man who was trying to pay cash in the self-checkout. It is sickening to know that they would rather call a gun to the situation than help a fellow human out. Screw this place and I hope whoever called that night gets some karma their way!
It seems like every time I go back there is more under lock and key. I’ve just stopped asking for items. Maybe Target is saving on theft, but how much are they really losing in potential sales because it’s not worth waiting for every item you need. On the plus side, I’ll start saving a lot more money.
Great place but the people can’t move any slower. What is with New Mexico and a low sense of urgency. The cashiers they’re moving so slowly it is unreal. Why would you hire slow people to be cashiers? Is it because you don’t have any other choice considering a local population? I would believe that.
This evil company not only discriminated against a person with obvious learning difficulties who was making a large purchase, they actively got him assaulted and battered and no doubt ruined all his confidence and autonomy. Anyone who associates with these despicable people are just as culpable.
The employees that I actually talked to when I needed help we're super friendly and helpful which is very awesome. The only issue I had was with my handicap cart. It died before I was done shopping but at least it died close enough to the checkout that I was able to manage.
I'm just disgusted at why you guys would call the cops on a disable man that was taking to long at the self checkout. unharden your hearts and help him next time he could have gone hurt way way more then he did. he didn't deserve this at all. learn from this and be better.
Apparently you can get the cops called on you for taking too long in the self check-out. Good luck if you can't find the code for red peppers! Disgraceful what this employee did, and what their management clearly allowed to happen. Shame on the people running this store.
These people called the cops on a disabled 53yr old man who was taking longer than usual to pay for his items. Instead of helping him they get him mistreated by cops and arrested. Why would anyone continue to support this store? The video is heart breaking.
Your staff is the most heartless sickening people I have ever seen. I hope you are sued at least. For those individuals involved that called this abusive police department on a defenseless mentally disabled man, all I can say is Karma is a wonderful thing.
I hope everyone who is thinking of shopping at this store sees the video of them refusing service to a disabled man trying to buy a bicycle. They use evil cops to throw him out and they arrested him. This is the most shameful thing I've seen in a shop.
It was pretty terrible for employees of Target to watch with folded arms as a person with disabilities struggled to make a purchase, but it's absolutely inexcusable that they would call police on him to force him to leave. I'm so disgusted by this.
How disgusting what ya’ll did to a man with disabilities who you called the cops on for taking too long to pay for his bike at the check out machine. Hope you guys pay for this injustice and false imprisonment of the man all caught in cop body cam!
You guys disgust me, why don't you help your customers instead of calling the cops on them. Blatant disregard for people with special needs, If this is how you treat your customers I'd hate to see the abuse your special needs employees go threw.
Fire whoever called the cops on that poor man for taking a while at the self checkout. I hope your customers take as long as possible at the self check outs. In the future, HELP or WAIT. No need to call a national gang on a man for being slow.
Don't take too long at self checkout, This Target has a policy of calling cops to come and drag you outside. If you have disabilities, be aware that Target does not want you at this store. You're putting your safety at risk by shopping here.
They recently put locked cabinets around everything in the personal care section, like deodorant, body wash, etc. and over in laundry. I had to interrupt employees from their shelf stocking 3 separate times to get the things I needed. Made
So many items are now under lock and key (body wash? Really?) My wife and I saved over $100 at this store as no employees showed to unlock the cases we needed. Worst Target experience ever! They will lose more money on lost sales than what
This store is flat out anti disabled people. I will no longer be shipping from target after seeing how they treat disabled people. Shame on management for allowing your employees to discriminate against a person with cognitive differences.
Did an online order yesterday for curbside pick up. Went to try on my pants today that I picked up yesterday and realized they gave them to me with the security sensor on them. Now I have to make a trip back to the store. Very frustrating!
Target has lots of issues but this location specifically discriminates against disabled people and has them arrested if they take too long at self checkouts. I would avoid this Target like the plague if you want to keep your civil rights.
There were issues on the receipt printer at self checkout but the manager and staff were very helpful. It took longer for me to get checked out and on my way, but I appreciate that they assisted me and were very customer service oriented.
I LOVE there Clarence I got a pretty green dress and a matching top and a head band for $17.00. I never used to go in Target because a worker was following me around the store after that I never went back until I went with my FRIEND.
I think the Kenneth Skeens affair against a disabled man who was trying to pay his groceries is reason enough to make this negative review. The person who called the cops on the disabled man should be fired and face charges,.
The management here has a history of discriminating against the disabled which shouldn’t be forgotten. Please search ‘Kenneth Skins’ for details. Hopefully this costs this store some money, which they do not deserve.
Really enjoy this Target; it’s clean, well organized and the employees are helpful and friendly. It also has a decent grocery area - not large, but has some different food choices than the usual grocery stores.
Did you all SERIOUSLY call the cops on AND trespass a disabled dude who was CLEARLY having trouble with a self check out and just wanted to buy a bike? You are just as complicit as those room temp IQ cops
Good place to get arrested if you are mentally ill. Fire the employee who called the cops on a man at self checkout. The cop was fired and has been charged - the employee should be fired too.
Hey, if you like places that will call the cops on you for “taking too long at self-checkout” because you’re disabled to get you assaulted and wrongfully arrested, this is the Target for you!
I love shopping at Target and this one is nice, big, clean and organized. The employees on the floor are helpful but the employees in the registers need training on their customer service.
Excellent customer service from the service desk, helpful staff while shopping to the cashier. All were friendly worked diligently to help us which made our shopping experience pleasant.
Calling in the cops on a mentally disabled man struggling to pay for a purchase? What's next? Are you going to start hosing down the elderly for walking too slowly with their canes?
Target always gets my items correct and fulfilled when I do a drive up order. I also shop here constantly for groceries because of their deals and perks, it saves me tons of money.
I don't usually shop at the Target store but this was a really clean store, very well organized and it has a CVS Pharmacy inside it, where I got my Cobra booster. Very convenient
FYI: the manager of this target called the cops on a disabled man because he took too long, and the cops assaulted the man. The manager should be fired and exiled into a desert.
I love target they have everything! However the shopping experience has been un- comfortable! If you don't mind store security watching your every move, by all means shop there!
Target is my preferred place to shop, and I love the large armed security presence. I hate that things are still locked up such as body wash and detergent. Makes me feel unsafe.
Mpat pathetic employees and management.... Called police on disabled, because he was talking too long. How about you offer him a hand.... Store should be closed permanently
Don't visit this store. If you take too long they'll have you arrested. I haven't shopped at Target for over 15 years because of the way they treat people. Scumbag company.
Who calls the police on a mentally disabled man attempting to purchase a item and was having difficulty with the self-checkout. This location is pure trash for that.
If you try to pay with cash at self checkout and take longer than what the employees deem as acceptable, they’ll call the cops on you. Hope it goes out of business.
What's wrong with you people that not only won't help a disabled man but calls the police on him. Utterly disgusting behavior. I know where I will not be stopping
Having goons drag a mentally handicapped man from your store because he was “taking too long” in self-check out is unforgivable. What kind of people work here?!
This is the Target where employees called the police on a diaabled man who was taking too long at the self-checkout. What a disgrace to humanity you people are!
Don't bother going here if you expect to take longer than 5 minutes at a register. They will call the police on you. Especially if you are disabled.
They had a disabled man arrested because he was taking to long and had a disability. It's on youtube. I'd go somewhere else that deserve business.
Target is becoming just as bad as Walmart. Lines are long. A bunch of stuff is locked in cases and it's impossible to get anyone to unlock them.
If I go to Target this is the location I go to it's not the closest one to me I just like the staff the cleanliness and everything is stocked.
Abuse of a mentally dissabled man, why would your employees call the police on a clearly mentally dissabled person for "taking too long"
I love Target! The employees are so helpful, friendly and knowledgeable. I have never had a negative experience. Keep up the good work!
Natalia the girl with ponytail helped me find the perfect hair dye not once but twice!!! 10/10 employee of month give her a raise!!!!
Called the cops on a disabled man taking too long? You should all be ashamed of yourselves and fired on the spot. Disgusting
They called the police on a disabled man rather than assisting him. Disgusting store for disgusting people. Stay away.
At one point target was better than Walmart. Now no one says anything to you and walks around with miserable looks.
Instead of attempting to assist a disabled gentleman they call the cops on him. Whoever made that call is a moron.
Why did you call the cops on a disabled man??? Everything is about the cops but this target is just as responsible
Yo don't come here if you have a disability. They will call police to hurt you. I won't shop at any target again.
I am disgusted that this store called the cops on a disabled man trying to pay for his items. Shame on you!
Just saw the video of the disabled man trying buy a bike. Your employees should be ashamed of themselves.
Store is always clean, staff helpful and store online pickup orders are ready before 2 hour guideline
It's absolutely shameful that an employee called the cops over taking too long to pay for his items.
Never forget these people called the cops on disabled man, and still haven't said a word about it.
Had a problem ordering online so I called customer service and they cleared it up right away.
Workers are so incompetent they can't help a disabled man so they have to call the police
Terrible store with lazy employees who call the cops on people who don't shop fast enough
Very disappointing their treatment of disabled customers. Much better options near by.
Best Target in town. Leadership in the store really leading to a great experience.
I like to get in and out and have my items checked by cashier...so it was perfect
Calling the cops because a disabled man was taking too long to pay is disgraceful
Got my covid shot and then did some shopping. Get done all in one place.
Always fast at drive up--such an easy way to shop for just a few items.
The CVS pharmacy gives injections of seasonal vaccines.
Great shopping trip employees were very helpful
