I read all the glowing reviews for this place and thought it would be completely suitable to get a gift certificate for my bestie to get a nice massage for his birthday. I purchased this gift certificate right before the Covid closure, so unfortunately he was unable to use it until June 2nd of this year... When I called to schedule the appointment for him ( he was unable to book the appointment online himself, the online system refused his credit card despite charging his account a $1 fee). I spoke to a friendly woman named Sydney. Since it was a gift and it was his actual birthday, I didn't want my friend to have to pay a dime. I had noticed that their prices had increased and clearly expressed to Sydney I would like to pay the difference if there was any. She assured me that there would be no additional cost, they would honor the cost of the certificate. However, when he checked out using the gift card it was requested he pay the difference. He arrived 5 minutes early as informed, and was then requested to fill out medical forms which could have easily been filled out in advance, and his Massage therapist was late in collecting him for his massage. Slightly unprofessional. He was booked for 60 minute massage with Rachel Young. The first 10 minutes of the massage was spent confirming and questioning the information on the forms he filled out previously in the waiting room AND then proceeded to try to push another form of treatment on him numerous times before starting his massage. While I understand and empathize employees may be encouraged to up sell other services, he politely declined immediately and was still pushed until not so politely declining. This is unacceptable and unprofessional. Between the few minute initial lateness, the extra time with the forms, and her finishing slightly early he was only on her table for maybe 45 minutes! After the massage his issue was still unresolved and as time progressed his pain actually got progressively worse! He is now in pain in places he didn't have pain previously and she didn't even help resolve the issue she dipped into his massage time to question him about! Consumers beware! Services may not be provided as advertised and prices may be subject to change without notice despite claims otherwise.

I was here today for a massage and facial. The massage was nice however it is such a shame that the walls are paper thin. Even with music playing you can clearly hear conversations from neighboring rooms and the front desk. Hearing noise like that is far from relaxing and it's too bad the rooms can't be set up differently to ensure quiet, especially for the price you're paying. My facial was done in a room down the hall and it was much quieter. The facial was ok. There was a period of about 15 minutes where a product was applied on my face and nothing else was happening, I was just laying there in silence. I felt like it was a real waste of time as another service could have been happening during that time, like a scalp or neck massage. The facial ended shortly after this and I saw the girl's cell phone was on and laying on the table and I felt like she was using it during that 15mins. I wouldn't go back for that treatment. My friend also had a facial and she received an itemized list of all the products used on her, I didn't get anything of the sort. They have paper towels as hand dryers in the washroom, it seems really far from environmentally friendly, hopefully a better alternative can be found.

Today I went for my first personal care experience since well before Covid. I was nervous as I had no idea what to expect. The say the least, I was extremely impressed. From walking in the door, I spent minimal time in the waiting room with no other patrons as their appointments had been well spaced out. My esthetician was masked and went through an extremely thorough screening process before we began. She changed masks depending on the service (I had multiple services) and wore gloves that she put on when we started and discarded when we finished. As impressed as I was with the impressive safety protocols, I need to talk for a moment about what a fabulous job the esthetician, Melissa, did on my waxing. After 6 months of trying to mimic spa procedures at home, I cannot hold a candle to the job the Annex does. I feel like a new woman and I have the Annex to thank. I truly would not recommend another spa in Kingston ahead of the Annex.

I just had my second session with Larry Burcher and this guy is dynamite. I have had chronic leg/hip pain for years and have seen other RMTs and PTs and none of them took Larry’s approach to long term treatment. Larry gave me the option of a relaxing spa style massage or for a more involved therapeutic method which focuses on long term management and resolution through release, engagement and incorporation once he understood my issue (he’s an excellent teacher) and I opted for the more involved method as I need a fix to this chronic issue. For the first time in years I’m sleeping through the night and having less pain by the day due to his recommended at home maintenance tasks in conjunction with his thorough massage sessions. Can’t recommend him enough. His energy is infections, he’s very knowledgeable and has helped me greatly in just 1 week! Book in advance - he’s gotta be popular with this much talent!

Alex is one of the best in Kingston. Finally, I found my “go to” RMT The space is calming and positive. I always feel relaxed and repaired every time I leave. Kudos to Tiffany and Emily You two have a great company (East End is amazing too) and you both know how to hire rockstar staff. I’ll always be coming to The Annex. And if anyone in Kingston is still searching for their right fit for RMT, try my recommendations: Alex, Emily, Tiffany, or Kathleen. There’s 4 names to start with, but you can’t got wrong when you go there. Thanks everyone! Mahalo!

So disappointed with The Annex Spa! Our daughter arranged for her Bridal Party to have mani- and pedicures on the Friday before her wedding. The Matron of Honour had her shoes ruined with excessive lacquer, as the manicurist was upset that the girls had the gall to ask for a touch-up since both the MOH and bridesmaid’s nails were not well done at all. And, now, the lacquer has come off two of the bride’s nails and she hasn’t even left for her honeymoon yet!! The cost was shocking and, obviously, the service and quality is not there!

I lived in Kingston three years ago and the annex was one of my regular places to repair and relax. When we moved away I knew I would miss this space. Back to present, we are back in Kingston and within my first few days back you can bet I was in the annex. The staff was awesome, my RMT was insanely talented (low table-if you know you know) and I left feeling loose and limber, with just a touch soreness. The perfect massage! Plus I also have my Eminence supplier back too! Very safe covid protocols as well.

I’ve been going to The Annex since they opened. Always a great experience. I have recently been much more physical at work - where I am already on my feet all day - so I decided to treat myself to a massage. I usually see Sarah and she is AMAZING. But was booked this time, so I saw Rachel. She was fantastic. Very knowledgeable and had many great suggestions for things that could help with my specific needs. Just another example of the best people being available at The Annex. Thanks as always.

My massage therapist Tiffany is amazing.... Can't say enough about how good she is in her field & love catching up with her every couple of weeks. I suffer from chronic back and neck pain - from past injuries, my desk job and I am a highly active 24 year old. She always helps me to get back at it!!! Can't wait to try the Glow Treatment in a couple weeks (my first skin care treatment at the Annex) !! Not to mention.... the place absolutely has the "chill, modern" vibe they are going for.

I have visited the annex three times. My two experiences getting a massage have been very good. The RMTs were very thorough. However, I got a shellac manicure recently & it has left a really bad taste in my mouth as it began chipping less than 24 hours afterwards. Less than a week later and my nails look worse than when I got there. For such an expensive manicure (compared to most shellac manicures), I really expected to be impressed rather than disappointed and frustrated.

The atmosphere is so calm and welcoming, everything you'd hope for in a spa. I had my first appointment (60 minute massage) with Tiffany. I have to say, she made it feel like we weren't even strangers! She made me feel comfortable so quickly and worked to address my concerns. I've had massages in the past with other RMT's who have actually aggravated my bursitis in my shoulder - not Tiffany. She did an amazing job and made me feel like a 1000 bucks. Will be rebooking!

Had a 60min session with Alex...fantastic. She listens well to what you want/need, and has the strength and muscular conditioning to totally follow through. I generally request VERY hard deep tissue massages that are VERY painful, and I can always tell when the therapist really is in tune with what they are doing since some areas can tolerate more pressure (and thus pain) than others. Re-booked for another 90min appointment for two weeks after. Thanks Alex!

Sadly what was once my favorite place to go is now on my won't go back to list. The receptionist was not very friendly when I spoke to her on the phone. She clearly didn't understand that nobody had asked for my credit card upon booking and I wasn't giving it to her to reschedule either. Told me to "have a nice day" and hung up the phone. Sadly people must not be showing up for appointments which means the ones who do follow business asks pay for it.

I had a massage with Nik and I was very pleased with how knowledgeable and professional he is. I also had my brows waxed with Jess. She listened to what I wanted and worked her magic on my disastrous brows to make them look amazing. I can tell the staff teally enjoys working here and that makes a difference for me as a client. I appreciate the fact that they respected my appointment time and got me in and out in the expected time frame.

Unfortunately, this last visit was not at all what I had booked before, the masseuse had me do 45 minutes of stretching and resistance “training” and then the last 15 minutes was a half fast massage with my shirt on which I found the whole experience beyond odd. When I reached out to see if this was their norm I didn't get a response so I will be avoiding this place from now on and not recommending it to anyone. Very disappointing.

I just had THE BEST massage EVER. First, when you book an appointment over the phone the receptionist is very nice. Then when you come into the Annex, the environment is clean, seriene and luxurious (in a practical way). Then, personally, my 60 minute massage was so effective and targeted! I feel amazing. A little head and jaw massage at the end too was the icing on the cake. Definitely recommending to all my friends and family.

I visited Annex Spa in their east end location and had a fantastic experience! I received a pedicure and shellac manicure and then they fit me in for an eyebrow wax. All services were excellent, it was a calm and relaxing environment and the friendliest staff. They were upbeat, professional, and smiling! I will definitely be back to visit the new east end location again and try out some other services. Thanks ladies!!

I feel like I’ve died and gone to heaven every time I lay down in a facial room (Amanda is a goddess). Most relaxing experience ever and you get such amazing at home care advice. Suuuuper knowledgeable and likable staff. Also if you have benefits and aren’t using them you will hate yourself for that after a treatment with any one of the RMT’s, I’ve seen a variety of them and never ever been let down. A RARE GEM!!!!!!

Melissa gave me the most relaxing facial I have ever had! The entire treatment was a dream from start to finish and I left with my skin feeling clean, fresh and velvety smooth. Not overloaded with products or greasy. Melissa is so knowledgeable about skin care and the products she uses- I also left with some samples to try at home which was so appreciated. Thank you so much Melissa! I can’t wait till my next one!

I've been going to the Annex spa for 2 years. After an accident, regular appointments with an RMT became necessary. RMT Nik Keating has provided excellent care, professional, knowledgeable service that has absolutely improved my quality of life. His calm, attentive personality and his interest in my well being has ensured that I will continue to visit the Annex spa. I highly recommend RMT Nik Keating.

What a wonderful experience! I visited for a massage after I experienced back pain for days and my therapist was Sarah. Not only she was friendly, professional and highly skilled, but she provided me with loads of post-treatment advice. I had Heidi for an eyebrow and one arm wax. She was wonderful. Very sweet and didn't look at me like I had 6 heads when I requested a single arm wax (had surgery and the hair grew in weird and patchy) the whole place is gorgeous and so inviting. The smells are also amazing. I wanted one of everything in there. Looking forward to going back :)

This was my first time at The Annex and loved it! the decor is modern but inviting, its relaxing but not dead quiet, and the services were amazing! I was with Amanda for an eye treatment facial and a shellac manicure and I'm very happy with her polite, personal but professional way of business! I can't wait to come back soon!

Got a massage with Sam D. It was amazing. Probably the best massage I’ve had and I wish I would have book it for 90mins instead of 60. I also got the body polish which made me feel so smooth and relaxed. Great service and everything was started and finished on time. I’ll definitely go back when I’m in the Kingston area.

Wonderful registered massage therapists. I’ve seen several (4 or 5 different ones) over the years and all are wonderful. Staff are friendly, atmosphere is restful. Parking is easy (paid) for the downtown location. Went to the east location once (free parking) and it had just as nice of facilities and staff.

I have found it difficult to find an RMT who really can do a deep muscle massage. I’ve met a few but they left the city. I was lucky enough to be referred to Tiffany. She is amazing. I honestly don’t know how she can maintain the pressure for an hour. Very knowledgeable. Only wish I could go more often!

I've been going to the Annex for the last 5 years and have always had great experiences. Tiffany is an amazing RMT. The annex is very clean and I greatly appreciate seeing the staff clean all of the tools throughout the process while I am getting a manicure or pedicure. They do a great job everytime.

Love this place! Massage, waxing and nails are always perfect and the staff is all so friendly and wonderful. Love the location as there is usually parking in the lot and it's close to other downtown favourites to hit up after treatment. I've never had a disappointing experience at The Annex.

I have been going to The Annex for several years now, and one of the features i really like, other than the very qualified staff, is the on-line booking system. It is efficient, very easy and can be done at your leisure. In today's world I find these characteristics impressive.

I have been getting my eyebrow waxes and tints from ANNEX for a long time now and have always been satisfied. The skilled staff listen to my requests and fulfill them each time. Great vibes and friendly staff. Also there is always tea in the waiting room which is a plus.

Love everything about this spa! The people, the services , the atmosphere! Tiffany Brick is hands down Kingston's best masseuse (especially if you're athletic and need deep tissue work) and Heidi can shape a mean brow! You can not go wrong with any service at the Annex!

I get my eyebrows done here and I have sensitive skin. The aestheticians I've had do a great job shaping but also making sure I'm not stuck with all those red angry bumps I find I can get after waxing sensitive skin. The massages are really relaxing too

Nik provides excellent RMT services. On top of the effectiveness of his massage, he also demonstrates the breadth of knowledge and clinical acumen neccessary to execute a treatment plan. The spa itself is well appointed, clean and welcoming.
