"A true backstreet local which is always great to see"
"This is a cosy pub"
"Still a great local pub"
"Was working the bar for 3 years, '96 - '98! Great guv' I had then with his Mrs"
"This is just a fantastic cozy little local; decor is gorgeous, pub is spotlessly clean, and the lady behind the bar couldn't have been more accommodating to us"
A true backstreet local which is always great to see. The keg and cask options were a decent selection too and well kept. They were along the lines of what a Young’s hostelry would be serving. Homemade sandwiches also seemed to be on offer in the fridge. The landlady and locals were all very friendly too. The pub was well maintained and spotless to boot. There is a nice outdoor area at the front, which was nice to relax in when sunny. The beers were very reasonable which does make you wonder why the bigger chains charge a small fortune these days. Worth supporting this local if you’re nearby.

This is a cosy pub... I'm loving the Halloween decorations especially the bat (photo) I met the owners and staff as I completed my work....Really nice people. The lord Nelson is everything you need or want from your local pub. I love quirky and the multitude of novelty salt and pepper pots are a great touch.(photos) Finally It has a large amount of outside seating. I was there at dusk and the outside lighting makes it look stunning... This is a beautiful building with great people at the helm.... A real down to earth local boozer.

Still a great local pub. Beer is tip top as usual, punters are a friendly local bunch. Recently tackified by an unnecessary redec, proper pub tables have been replaced by tables with tops that I couldn't work out whether they were timber or IKEA style foil. Painted wallpaper has been replaced by a plank effect printed wallpaper which only made me ask 'why?' They have kept some features which now look out of place with the new decor. It's exactly the same underneath, same beer, brewery, punters, staff. I think someone was given some bad style advice.
Was working the bar for 3 years, '96 - '98! Great guv' I had then with his Mrs. Guess the old jukebox is gone!! Had lots of fun with the regular guys, Mel, Derek, Tony, Linda & Ray, my golf buddy! A pub as it should always be. Wonderful memories!! ❤️

This is just a fantastic cozy little local; decor is gorgeous, pub is spotlessly clean, and the lady behind the bar couldn't have been more accommodating to us. Sadly, food needs to be pre-ordered and parking is on-street.
A pub that is part of the Youngs Brewary chain. I quite like the beer in here, but am often put off by the regulars who hang around the bar. Place could do with a good spruce up. In balance a good pub for a quick couple.
Rude staff and no atmosphere, no wonder you only get a handful of people in there, won’t be long before it’s finished as the staff do their best to make you feel unwelcome

It is a quiet back Street pub. Plenty of people but the interia is perfect for small groups to chat, with a low background noise level.
A pleasant little pub, well worth a visit. When next in the UK will going back for a second visit and I hope it is as good as my first
