Unfortunately, this place has gone down in quality tremendously while the prices go up. I had a regular woman, Olive, I was seeing for 80 minute massages every four months or so that I wanted to see every visit, for consistency and so I didn't have to explain a new problem every time to someone new. Not everyone there gives the same quality massages for the price so when I find someone I like, I like to stick with them. I've seen her a handful of times until she no longer could be consistent. One time there was a family emergency, which I understand, then she was sick, then she's on vacation. She only works two days a week...? They would schedule me with her then she would call out. I would move the appointment. Then one time she called out and they didn't tell me. I got there and had a whole other person doing my massage and I had no idea what was going on. If I had known she called out, I would have moved the appointment. If I had known that it wasn't going to be consistent with her from the beginning, I would have already tried to find someone new a while ago. They continued to schedule me with Olive every time after that and I figured it might improve so I was fine with it. From the previous time she called out, I had a 20% off discount for the inconvenience for not being told. I had a massage scheduled for today at 12:15pm with her. They called yesterday at 4pm to let me know that Olive is on vacation until July 28th. Then why did you schedule me with her if she was on vacation? and why keep her on the schedule for someone to have massages with? If I only see her every four months, why is this such a consistent problem? I wouldn't have scheduled had they communicated. So even for the massage I had today, I was not able to use the 20% coupon. These massages are way too expensive for this to keep happening, especially when I am booked with her only every four months and now I am starting to wonder when they will call me to cancel because it has happened the last 4-5 times. I don't want to keep switching people. Olive was someone I already started seeing after the person before her left. I have spent a lot of money here over the past few years. I won't be back to have any more services from here. I will go somewhere else where things will be more consistent and where there is a better control of the way things are ran overall. It's way too much money for the quality of massages you get and I can put that towards somewhere else. The level of communication with clients here is very disappointing.
I scheduled a couples massage for my husband’s birthday in late October. We only get massages about twice a year so they’re a pretty big deal for us. We checked in, waited a while, then were told to go downstairs to wait for someone else. We stood and waited about 5 minutes before someone showed up. A woman then brought me and another lady into the woman’s locker room. She didn’t explain anything so I had to wander around to find things. The robe was small so they’re obviously not prepared for people with bigger bodies. None of this would’ve been a big deal except I was then informed, about 5 minutes after my massage was supposed to begin that there was no therapist for me. Apparently you’re not able to make couple massage appointments online. That’s fine, but I was able to make one online and regardless, two names were on the reservation so I’m not sure why two therapists weren’t available. I was told a manager would come speak to me but no one ever did. I waited the hour for my husband to be done (he had the car keys so I was stranded) and we went back upstairs. When I walked back upstairs there was a really long line of people waiting to get into the locker rooms. I told the woman at the front desk I didn’t get my massage and that’s when management finally showed up. She comped my husband’s massage which we were thankful about but did not give any explanation about what happened and why it wasn’t rectified earlier. So if you’ve gotten this far, my husband said the actual massage was nice, it was good they comped the massage, but we will not be back. They definitely seem disorganized and understaffed, so if you do plan on going I would call to make a reservation and make sure you leave a lot of time to get where you need to go.
Three other friends and I booked massages to celebrate a birthday. We called to book them over a month on advance (10/21) and were SO excited for them. We all took off work and got there about an hour before our massages were supposed to start. Upon arriving, we were in love the the aesthetic and the atmosphere. However, once we walked up to the front desk, they started looking for our appointments in the system and were told they didn’t have them. The woman working the front desk went to get the manager, and when the manager came out she just said “sorry, we don’t have your appointments in the system, but you guys can stay to use the amenities if you would like.” We were all SHOCKED. Being in the hospitality industry and for a place this nice, we were expecting them to be way more accommodating and empathetic. They then told us, “Well, you can book them for another day but we are all booked today.” We were not offered any sort of discount, complimentary service, ANYTHING. Not to mention, they didn’t even seem to feel THAT bad for something that was 100% their fault. Thank goodness we called the Ritz and they were able to fit us all in and we had a WONDERFUL experience there with absolutely incredible service. We were so excited to try the Ballantyne Spa, but unfortunately, this will be my first and last experience there.
The spa was delightful overall!! My husband and I decided to visit the spa together to celebrate a career achievement. We live in the area, so we did not stay in the hotel. We decided to both have a facial and a couples massage. We arrived at 5:40pm and were greeted promptly and escorted to the corresponding lounge areas to change. The attendants were kind and knowledgeable. It was clean and very relaxing. The providers were on time for our 6 pm appointments. We both got the peeling oxygen facial. My provider was Alisha. She was very knowledgeable and gave me a great facial and some advice on exfoliation. My husbands provider was Shanese and she also provided a relaxing and knowledgeable facial. They did not try to hard sell lots of products, as I’ve had experience with at other spas. We were escorted back to our respective lounges and picked up for our couples custom massage. Jill and Buckey were the provider’s. They were very professional. We both wanted medium to deep pressure and some special attention to the back and neck. They did not disappoint. Overall, we had a lovely experience and will choose this spa in the future. Unfortunately due to the time of day, we were not able to experience the pool or sauna, but we will check those out next time.
How disappointing. I booked an appointment with the intentions of using a $250. gift card given to me on Mother’s Day to this Spa on Ballantyne, Charlotte. Unfortunately, on the day of the appointment, I was unable to locate my gift card. My daughter gave me the transaction number and the date of the purchase. I went in there with the intentions of maybe having someone look up the gift card and honoring that for me. Well, the clerk explain to me, the gift cards are treated like cash. If you lose it, you’re out of luck because there’s no way that they can look it up. I asked to speak to the manager and the manager said the exact same thing, she wouldn’t be able to look it up since they sell their gift card without entering the customers info which I found hard to believe so she would not be able to help me. I end up paying for the services but sadly disappointed that they did not even try. I did enjoy my scheduled massage. All went well except for that. That $250. Gift card is in my house somewhere I just can’t find it since I’ve been renovating my house. So I asked my daughters not to get me anyone gift cards from them since gift cards are money in the trash if misplaced. Sad!
I have been going to the Spa at Ballantyne for facials and massages for almost 10 years. Over the past few years, I have noticed the quality of the treatments and the facilities declining while prices increased. A few weeks ago, I decided to try the nail salon and give it one last shot. Here's what you get for your $80 ($65 for Natural Beauty Pedicure + 20% mandatory service fee): **A confirmation e-mail informing you that you will be treated like a second-class citizen at your visit. If you spend less than $100, you will not be allowed to use the "amenities" (spa lounge, steam room, sauna, outdoor pool, etc.). **A nail chair facing a huge window overlooking an equally huge construction site, not pleasant or relaxing. **A plastic cup of champagne. **A foot soak in a tub that is not lined with a disposable plastic liner, like every other nail salon switched to 5 years ago for hygiene reasons. **A mediocre pedicure with uneven nail edges and polish on the surrounding skin. Bottom line: Not high-end or luxurious. I have had better pedicures for less than 1/2 this price, where I felt treated like a valued client, and I was not worried about getting a nail fungus after I left.
This evening a friend of mine and I stopped by the Spa in the Ballantyne Hotel to check on their offerings. We had just finished a casual dinner at the Gallery restaurant on the opposite side of the Hotel. When we entered the Spa area we were greeted with a lovely smile by I believe her name was Hatice. She was just finishing up with a client so I went to look around while my friend asked her a few questions. The Spa boutique they have is very elegant and had a skin care Brand, Natura Bissē which I was delighted to see as it is very hard to find. I even made a few purchases. (Photo Below). The really special thing about this place is the people, our interaction with Hatice was beyond exceptional. I have worked in high-end luxury retail for 15 years, Hermes, Louis Vuitton, and Neiman Marcus. And I was very impressed by by her manor and how eloquently she greeted us, the knowledge she had a regards to the services offered at the spa and how she even shook our hands as we left. I wish I could give more than 5 Stars! One thing for sure the next spa appointment/manicure pedicure appointment I make will be here! Job Well Done!
I called Ballyntyne Spa one morning to inquire on facials for myself and my friends for two birthdays we were celebrating. I was greeted by Lydia, who advised that she was over group sales, and while she normally booked groups larger than 5 people, she would book my group as a group because she was the one who answered the phone. Lydia proceeded to email and contact me via telephone up until the week of our appointment. Once we arrived to the spa evertything was so clean and calm and everyone was so professional and nice and made us feel so comfortable. We were able to meet Lydia and she exuded such kindness and compassion and was very attentive to myself and our group, making sure everyone was taken care of and satisfied. She had conversation with us that was so enlightening, gave us chocolates and just made us feel right at home. Our estheticians Courtney and Sarah were WONDERFUL! We all raved at how great we felt and how relaxed they made us feel. We all had a wonderful experience and I even booked personal services for myself! If you are looking for a great spa, Ballyntyne Spa is the place! We will definitely return.
We love this spa! I’ve gone 4 times and each time is wonderful. When you get there they give you a locker and a fluffy robes in the men’s or women’s separate locker rooms. I say locker room loosely because it is all beautiful carpet wood panels and luxury finishes. In the locker room you’ll find nice clean bathrooms, a sauna, steam room, relaxing lounge with tea coffee and snacks, and showers. Through the locker room they bring you to the spa rooms for whatever services you order. Beyond that you can go to the indoor pools and jacuzzi and beyond there is a huge outdoor luxury pool deck. If you get a service you can spend all day there and get lunch or even dinner in their restaurant. We plan to try the restaurant next time. I’ve gone for small spa days with my mom and friends, did a party of 10 for my bachelorette weekend, and most recently in September with my husband for our one year anniversary where we have a great relaxing time and a couples massage. To be honest the massages are expensive but all the amenities make it worth it Since we normally spend the whole day. We will be back soon!
I came here yesterday with my mom (01/03/2019), as I was in town visiting. I have gotten my nails done so many times. I am a nursing student, so I can only have short nails, and they must always be neat and neutral. I went with a nude color. My tech was Marilyn, from South Carolina. She was so friendly and sweet. She did work diligently and made me feel very comfortable. However, as for my mani, that with tip totaled $60, my polish has already come off. And mind you, I did not get regular polish. I paid an extra $15 for gel polish and it is now ruined. I noticed yesterday, right after I left the salon, that there were bubbles in my nail polish, especially in my middle finger. And while I was scratching my leg today, the entire polish came off! I am now getting bubbles in other nails as well. For how high end this salon is supposed to be, it is absurd that my gel polish is coming off not even 24 hours later. ridiculous, and not worth your money. Get them done at Walmart, at least the polish stays on.
Was highly disappointed. Not only were we told to head downstairs then we would be shown our way around the locker room only to wait so long that we had to go upstairs to say that no one was meeting us. So that cut into our relaxation time of using the amenities before the massage. But a female assisted us into the females locker room yet told my boyfriend to go ahead into the locker room. Never gave him any instruction as to where to go before the massage. She didn’t give any direction regarding how he gets a robe. I had to call him from inside the females locker room and tell him to go into the lounge area and wait he proceeded to tell me how uncomfortable he was because he didn’t have a robe. So when the woman came to get him for his massage she asked if he had a robe and he had to tell her there were none because all the lockers were locked. Not to mention for $175 I received the complete opposite of a relaxing massage. Would not recommend this location nor would I ever come back.
Updated (12/23): ANSWER YOUR PHONES!! Been trying to call for days and yet again, can’t get anyone to pick up the phone. Previous Review: I previously gave this spa 4 stars, but am lowering it to 3. I have called about 10 times over the course of different days and weeks the last month or so, sent an email and submitted a comment on social media to get a few questions answered with no answer or reply. This was the spa I would go to for an above and beyond treat due to the amenities and service... but if the service is not there where I can talk to someone prior to arrival, I don't imagine service onsite will be as good as expected either. Additionally, I was ok paying a premium for spa services to take advantage of all of the amenities before/after a service. However, with services being halted due to COVID protocol, it is hard to justify the costs. Pretty disappointed as I have a gift certificate waiting to use, but don't feel my previous level of excitment to visit right now.
The spa needs improvement at the front desk. We scheduled appointments 6 months in advance and received an email a week before arriving, and all the spa services were on the wrong dates. The night before our services, we received a phone call from the spa wanting to cancel our massages because one of their techs was sick. We booked so far out, booked 5 services spanning over 2 days, and this spa didn't even try to accommodate by finding a replacement or bumping someone who booked after us. They were difficult from the onset and impossible to get on the phone. We were able to get our services as originally scheduled but not without a headache. Not how a relaxing weekend should be. The service technicians were all great, and my services were fabulous, but based on the lack of organization and communication, I will not return to this spa and would not recommend.

I am actually really disappointed at the lack of compassion and consideration this establishment has. I booked an 80min massage in order to treat myself after working 7 12hour night shifts in a row at the hospital. I figured I would have enough time for a nap after my shift since I booked my appointment at 3pm. I ended up oversleeping and missed my appointment. I called the spa to explain my situation and see if their was any way to reschedule. I was told by Natalie, the front desk attendant, that she would reach out to a manager and get back to me. I personally had to follow back up because no one reached out. I ultimately was told nothing could be done and per their policy I was charged the full amount of the massage service including tip. I've been to this spa before and have loved the services. I'm just very shocked about the strict policy and lack of empathy. This situation and their policy has caused me to not be a repeat customer.

. The treatments were wonderful. Massage amazing - and the facial as well ….Best ever!. But after initial (very nice) greeting, no one was available to ask a question or get a beverage. I was there for 4 hours. Got locked out in the jacuzzi area, along with someone else. Later, when I finally found someone to order a mimosa, she said “well you only get one free you know”……? I wasn’t concerned about the price, especially after paying over $400 for the services. How insulting. The bathroom wasn’t as clean as one would expect. Stall shutter doors were a bit grimy and toilet had some brown residue pooled around the flusher. I wish I could say it was the fabulous spa day I was looking forward to, but it wasn’t. Maybe it’s another example of the lack of help since COVID. I hope they can do better or at least don’t book as many guests until they do.
Spent half day here. Started out with a deep tissue massage. While I waited to get started, the attendant brought me a bottle of sparkling mineral water. This was my choice out of other offerings including wine or beer. The massage was 50 minutes long done by an experienced masseuse. It left me feeling relaxed and refreshed. Then I spent a few minutes in the steam sauna, more time in the dry sauna and then to the indoor pool. After some relaxing time here, we were off to the outdoor pool. After spending all the time we wanted here we were back inside to the whirlpool hot tub. It felt very nice and relaxing. Back to the indoor pool then back to the hot tub. I finished up bavk in the steam sauna, the dry sauna then a luxurious shower. We were treated with excellence. After this exceptional experience we were off to the movies.
I booked a sports massage for 60 minutes only to be told once I arrived that it is in actuality 50 minutes, on my confirmation it had two times 50 minutes and 60 minutes, I was told that the first 10 minutes are for consultation. Needless to say the consultation never happened. The confirmation should have had just one time. I was a patron of the spa pre-COVID-19. With the current staff there is a language barrier. I couldn’t understand my masseuse and I felt that I could not communicate with her either. Initially there was no one to check me in downstairs in the spa, and then when the woman arrived she said I was late. Unpleasant experience and overpriced. The sports massage was supposed to be deep tissue, the pressure was weak, this is where the language barrier came in to play. Needless to say I will not be going back
Me and my husband visited the spa today fir his birthday present weve ordered a massage. By the time weve got to the spa Ive ordered also pedicure treatment for me. I remember the cashire told me that tmy pedicure treatment will take place at 1:30 pm. I went to the pools and was ready by 1.30 pm for my pedicure treatment. I was waiting for 10 min downstaires with no one coming. Later I went upstairs to the cashier which told me "oh your appoitment was at 12.30 and we went twice looking for you" I remembered specifically that the pedicure was supose to be at 1.30 pm also no one called my cell phone in the time that they were looking for me. Finally at 13.45 I started the pedicure treatment which because of the late hour it started could be only 50 minutes instead of 80 min and charged for the whole 80 minutes.
Let me start by saying that everyone there is incredibly kind and welcoming, it is very clean and overall a nice spa. I am giving a two star review because of the service. I booked a deep tissue massage and AT MOST received a Swedish pressure massage. Even after I asked for more pressure it just didn't feel like I got what I paid for ($200). I won't return for that reason. It was also a bummer that the hot tub and indoor pool were closed for renovation. I was really looking forward to using the hot tub during my visit. They also charge a 20% service fee with only 15% of that going to the service provider...I am not sure where that other 5% is going...odd. I plan to save some money and go to a provider that is trained in proper massage techniques and pressure levels vs. a "spa" atmosphere.
Terribly disappointing for the cost - not top-notch at all. Bride-to-be spent tens of thousands and we + multiple guests at the hotel yet we received NO discount when spending well over $500 for 2 girls treatments. Staff accidentally undercharged me at checkout by a mere $20 and wanted me to WAIT while they fixed THEIR issue!!!??? Just so we could get charged the extra $20?! Treatments were all 'just OK', and I'm a vet at spa treatments, if I spend over 500, I damn well expect a SPA experience. Really disappointed, and it's a shame because the facility is quite nice - obviously bad management and poor attention to detail. A few good tech's on site, but I expect a place like this to not have spotty providers, they ALL should be stellar and ALL service should be top-notch.
I finally went for my birthday this year. It was a nice break from the everything for a few hours. I went on a Sunday. It wasn't heavily populated which I know helped my experience. As some reviews state, some things are dated and could use a face-lift. On a busy day I'm sure my stars would be minus two because it's tight quarters. There is nowhere to really change without being in the open or going into a bathroom stall. ***PSA...if you happen to like to tip in cash, there is a nice service charge added to your bill and a portion goes to your service provider. My service was $120... service charge was $24. I was told that about $16 of that would go to my masseuse. It's not removed even if you give cash.*** I'm sure I'll visit again but, no rush.
I called three times to talk to them about a spa treatment for my wife. They never had the courtesy to return my call. Went online to make it. When my wife got there on-time for the appointment, no one greeted her or took her to a room to put on a robe. Someone finally came and directed her to a room where she sat with everyone else in their robes while they all had a glass of champagne. When she finally got to the room with the masseuse, everything was fine, and the masseuse did a great job, but everything before that lacked the elegance and consideration you would expect a place like the Spa at Ballantyne. There are two other spas within two miles, LaVida and Urbana. Both are much less expensive and do a great job, albeit without the champagne.
It's a beautiful place, the ambiance is set precisely to make you relax. The service is marvelous, everyone of guest service wants to please. Where this place fell short for me was the actual massage. I ordered 80 minutes of the ashiatu (they walk on your back to create the most pressure.)massage, however what I got was 60 minutes of not very much pressure and 25 minutes of my massuse cleaning the room for the next guest. During the massage oil splatters everywhere. The massuse used a lot of grease and didn't wipe it off, by the time we were done and after she had left the room, I had to w degrease myself. I was very disappointed at the quality of the actual massage, I had been looking forward to it. You shouldn't over promise and underdeliver.
I am writing this sitting in the spa lobby instead of in my couples massage booked for my anniversary. There was a mix up with the gender of my provider and when I expressed how uncomfortable I was, I was simply taken back to the locker room. My husband had already started so he is going forward with our anniversary 80 minute couples massage - while I sit here in the lobby, alone. To add to the disappointment I was just informed I am being charged 50% for NO SERVICE!!! So, one star for my experience, just advice to either avoid entirely or confirm, reconfirm and re-reconfirm and then hope it all works out or just skip the nonsense and have a great experience at the Ritz or Grand Bohemian uptown - always excellent experiences.
I've been to The Spa twice and my overall experience was great. The only thing is the girls alway give me the wrong size robe or shoes I'm no size two and I always feel uncomfortable asking for a bigger size I think they should keep a log or something of their clients size just a suggestion. However the experience is great my first time I had LeighAnn who did my facial and she was great. This pass visit I had Daniel Rueff and there is absolutely no words to explain how amazing he is. I highly recommend if you're getting a facial to book with him he is phenomenal. The atmosphere is very relaxing and the staff is very friendly I love the fact you get access to the gym, pool etc. for no extra charge. I'll definitely be back.
My sisters and I booked services to celebrate a bride to be and were disappointed in the overall service. The place is beautiful but that's about all the luxury you get. I was not greeted as I walked in and the front desk looked like they could care less, my Mani that cost $40+ tip so $48.. chipped the same day! My nails got filed a tad and the edges were not smooth so when the polish came on they looked all jagged-my husband said our young kids could have done a better job. Overall I can't believe I paid that much for "luxury". I won't risk spending that much for it at this spa again. It's a shame because we have another bride to be coming up in a few months and we loved the property.
I went to the spa for a facial on Sunday (2/4/2019). I am giving 3 stars because I am so disappointed in the changes to the lounge area. It has been a while since I have been. But who decided to take out the lounge chairs and make people sit in the MOST uncomfortable upright chairs? This is not relaxing at all!! If your thought was to create more seating...epic fail! You go there to relax not to sit upright in a hard chair. Horrible! I would like to say my therapist was amazing! Her name was Shannon. I got a facial. She was attentive and did an amazing job! I would definitely go back to see her again, if only there was an actual place to relax before you get your spa treatment!
First time at this spa. It works if you’re looking for spa services and relaxation, which is rated on an individual basis, but this facility is far from luxurious. This spa needs a face lift, like toilets that work, doors that lock, mold removal in the showers. A long list of things needed attention! I noticed the staff doing their best to spoil everyone with awful wine and cheap munchies in the lounge area, so with a good attitude you can find a way to enjoy it. The staff is young, lacking experience & organization, which caused me to lose several minutes into my massage. Don’t be fooled with this hotel's illusion of grandeur; it’s nothing more than adequate.
Amazing ARNICA DEEP TISSUE MASSAGE @ Ballantyne. Spa staff was lovely. I was greeted and escorted downstairs to the woman’s lockers after given a tour. Nice changing area and quiet lounge. Because of rules, I didn’t take pictures since your electronics are suppose to be put away. Other woman when I was there had theirs in the quiet lounge which was against rules and no one said anything. Lots of amenities & light snacks in quiet room, indoor pool & hot tubs were out of service when I was there. I had great massage, my therapist sweet and competent, only issue would be not silent but that was okay, just not as relaxing but the massage was just what I needed.
Very disappointed. Friends and I went to lunch/spa to celebrate a birthday today. We ordered food and it took forever to come. We explained we had 1:00 massages and the server and the hostess said not to worry, they’d box it up and we had a 15 minute grace period. When we checked into the spa (starving) the girl behind the desk also confirmed we had a 15 min grace period. We changed into robes and went back at 1:20. Our massages were 35 minutes and obviously did not adhere to any grace period. We paid $155 per massage plus a tip that was added in. Spoke to the manager and got no where. We’ll never again. Absurd

I myself am an esthetician and Was not at all happy with my experience: They sent me downstairs without telling me to go, I was wandering the spa with no idea where I was until I found someone. All the employees at the front desk were very short with me and didn’t seem to care about my spa experience. My facial specialist was very impersonal as well. Barely massaged my face and it seemed like she tried to touch me as little as possible during my service, just applying products. Needs some work on hospitality, I want people to seem like they care about what they are doing to me, especially when it is an expensive, “luxurious” treatment. Very disappointed.
The Spa at Ballantyne is a class act all around. Impeccable service without the stuffiness. I have been seeing Master Hair Stylist, Edwina, for several years and she is the absolute best! She is an artist and she transformed my style and color. I never thought I could have long hair, middle of my back, at 57 years old and I do. I receive compliments all the time. She knows how to style and color to make you look and more importantly, feel your best. Big bonus, she has a wonderful spirit and is an absolute gem to talk with, laugh and share life stories. You will only feel absolutely wonderful, inside and out, after your experience with Edwina.
My go to spa! I have a day here for myself and I leave the feeling of go away but it's within my city. The only I've noticed at the spa is the lounge and rest area is getting very loud as women take this as a hang out spot. It would also be great if the spa gave branded eye mask to make it darker and possibly highlight people that would like a little more "zen" these can also be given to guests who are staying a room, great promotion for the spa! Other than this it will continue to have this as my go to place!

Luxury, Great value
The massage was superb and the atmosphere was great. I did not give it 5 stars because the website is misleading about what facilities are open during COVID. They need to let people know that everything is closed but the outdoor pool. On the website they only say the sauna and steam rooms are closed. I told the front-desk lady they needed to update their website information because except for the lock rooms and lounge room everything is closed. If you go there just for your treatment then you are fine. However, if you, like me, are looking to relax in the facilities this is not going to be possible.
If I could give 0 stars I would. I made a group massage appointment for a friends birthday a month in advance, but when we show up they do not have us in their system. Mistakes happen, but how the manager handled it was very poor. All we got was a very simple, “I’m sorry, can we book you for another day?”. Being in customer service, I would have expected much more than this. It was going to be all of our first times here, but we left and went to the Ritz who accommodated just fine. I would never go back or recommend to any of my family, friends, or clients to do so.
We planned a girls weekend that included spa treatments instead of a baby shower for me. I was so excited for a prenatal massage and desperately needed it. My massage was horrible. The woman was perfectly nice and very pleasant but didn't address any of my problem areas. She also used so much oil that she was wiping it off as she went. I had to shower immediately after as there was no way I could get in the car without staining the seats. This was way too expensive of a massage for it to be this bad. Thankfully the other ladies had wonderful massages.
The Spa at Ballantyne was an amazing experience! All of the staff members did a great job welcoming me into the spa and all of the facilities are beautiful and tranquil. I highly enjoyed the massage, sauna, and even being treated to mimosas after my service! My masseuse, Alexia, did a fantastic job and I left feeling very relaxed. I would highly recommend indulging in this relaxing experience!

Luxury, Quiet, Great value
Completely overrated. I think since this is the only “day” spa in the Ballantyne area they have become lax and the luxury aspect is completely gone. I received a massage with a scalp enhancement. The masseuse barely used her fingers, only the palm Of her hand. I have had many massages and this was definitely not worth it. I contacted the spa afterwards and tried to give them a chance to correct it but they didn’t even bother replying to my email as they are so busy due to demand. Go so where else- make the trip downtown to avoid being disappointed.
Poor service, my facial was a complete letdown, the esthetician started late and ended early, she was extremely rough when applying and removing masks. But also most of the staff that I encountered were rude, the wine glass I was served had several lip prints on it (gross!) And the waiting room was not relaxing, it had uncomfortable chairs and all the furniture was extremely crammed, it was difficult to move when no one was in there let alone if there were other people there. Really bummed, I was hoping this spa was going to be my new "go-to."
The facial was nice with Sarah, but not long enough. It was supposed to be a 50 min service but, I got to the room ten after 11, after undressing and going over options it was probably 15 after and I was finished and out of the room by ten till 12. So, it maybe lasted 30 min. I added the $50 Peel because she recommended it but, it was way to hot and I had her immediately take it off. Needless to say, I do not recommend the peel unless you have tough skin. All in all I payed $230 for a facial. Definitely overpriced. But, Sarah was great.
This was my second visit to the Ballantyne, my first visit to the Spa. I've seen mixed reviews but I'm glad that I made the decision. The staff couldn't have been nicer or more accommodating. Susan B was my massage therapist and she was amazing! Complimentary wine, champagne, or mimosa if you are so inclined. Citrus iced water is available as are nice snacks. My Carolina Lavender Massage came with a small piece of chocolate and iced lavender tea. NICE! What a great way to spend a couple of hours on a Sunday afternoon.
We were excited for a girls spa day but were unfortunately disappointed. The pictures are very misleading as is the information on the website. We had to fight our way just to get access to the indoor pool in the spa even though it says in the spa information that you will have full access to the indoor pool. NOTE-you will not be allowed in the outdoor pool on Saturday’s as it is reserved for hotel guest only. The locker room was sad, it reminded us of the YMCA with a facelift. The place is not worth the money.
Below average spa. After visiting truly upscale spas elsewhere, this place is truly lacking. The waiting area is disappointing and lacks opportunity to relax. The amenities are a joke and the outdoor pool restrictions are ridiculous. The steam room and sauna are tiny. You have to share the indoor pool and hot tub with hotel guests. The services I’ve received here are just ok. I’d go out of my way to go to a spa that offers an authentic spa experience. There is nothing exclusive about being a guest at this spa.
We stayed for three days and had high quality experience. The front desk went above and beyond. The housekeeping did great service and earned good tip! The spa was relaxing and not busy. The restaurant was extraordinary, we had breakfast lunch and diner there, the food was first class and worth it. I wish the building behind was ready so it doesn’t damage the view from the beautiful lobby. However the luxury feeling doesn’t go away! We will go there again.

Had an amazing time today! My husband surprised me with a prenatal massage and pedicure. The spa is lovely. I was greeted by everyone who was quite friendly. After checking in, I was taken downstairs to the massage area where there were locker rooms. Offered spa sandals and a robe to change into. Then I went to my massage with Sharon. She has the hands of God herself! After my prenatal massage, I went back upstairs for my pedicure. Marlyn did an amazing job. My feet are so soft. It was such a lovely time.
I came to the Spa at Ballantyne to celebrate my birthday. The experience was just okay. Outside of the massage booked, there wasn’t anything special about the spa. I was definitely looking for a little more. You do get a complimentary champagne or mimosa after your appointment. They did not do anything for my birthday. I was originally booked at the Ritz-Carlton spa and wish I would have kept my appointment there as it wasn’t anything memorable.

I can't stress enough how well trained, friendly and professional the staff is here. I won't be going any where else for my spa and relaxation needs after today. Now on to why this is 4 stars and not 5, the food. I cant begin to describe how bad it is. Stale chips, and lazily thrown together sandwiches that are more fitting for a school lunch than such an upscale service. This stuck out even more because of how perfect everything else was. So you should 100% come here, just plan to eat elsewhere.
Terrible customer service. I received a generous gift card for my birthday and was so excited to use it on a massage at the Ballantyne spa. I find out after booking my appointment that they had previously charged someone else's spa day to my gift card before I could use it, so I was left with a balance of only $1. Instead of fixing the problem, they just gave me a "sorry, there is nothing we can do about it". I would expect more from a "luxury" spa... certainly better customer service than that.
The women who go there and half the staff are stuck up and judgmental but the massage was great and the spa aspect was relaxing. Had one of the staff tell a lady she was leading back to the back that I must be a kid and it must be a "mother daughter spa day". I'm 25 and I was there alone but I guess she just wasn't used to seeing someone who actually takes care of their skin there . Still would go again just to laugh at the staff and guests. 10/10 would do again.

Me and my girlfriend's recently had massages and facials done here. It was such an amazing experience. This place knows how to make sure you feel relaxed and pampered. The whole atmosphere was wonderful. We took advantage of the extra amenities that came with our service, used the sauna and outdoor pool. All employees we interacted with were very helpful and kind.

Myself and my wife booked $500 in services. A couples massage and facials. The facials were very impressive and well worth the price tag, however the massages were mediocre at best and not worth the $140 for 50min, although we did not even get the full 50 min either. The reason for the 1 star review is as we went to settle our bill, we were advised a 20% service charge was added as a tip to our bill. Surely a tip is discretionary based on the service received not compulsory.
Wonderful Spa Day. I started my day off with lunch and champagne at The Spa and once done started my treatment. Every element of your senses are engage. The eucalyptus smell immediately puts you in a zen mindset. The indoor pool is under renovation so we went to the outside pool and it feels like you are somewhere else other than Charlotte. It truly feels like vacation. Ms Lydia helped coordinate our services and she was amazing and made sure our visit was special.
Fantastic location. The spa was clean and very relaxing. The lights were low (which is a life saver if you have migraines). My masseuse, Bucky, was fantastic at reading where I was tense and needed more pressure. I didn't have to say a word throughout the entire massage. Their products were moisturizing and had a light, pleasant smell. The robes were LUXURIOUS. I would definitely come back here and recommend this place to my family and friends. Total 10/10.
Lovely day at the spa! Easy to book treatments with their online portal. I called to ask about Covid restrictions and received a call back within a few hours from a helpful woman who answered all my questions. Wonderful service from every employee that I came across. The treatment left me feeling relaxed and refreshed. Enjoyed the indoor pool, jacuzzi, and lunch at the spa dining room. Already plan on bringing my mom on Mother’s Day.
Such a wonderful place to get away. Atmosphere is so relaxing and the staff very kind. The spa has a dungeon like feel when you walk down the stairs so feels almost like you're going somewhere far away from every day life and stress - I know, weird description, but I think it every time I go and maybe I'm not the only one!!! Highly recommended!! A bit pricey depending on what you're going for - but well worth it.
Very disappointed.. we booked a girls afternoon and the spa felt cramped and congested WAY too many people!! We talked some ladies we met in the locker room and they all agreed. Facilities felt dated with dorm room feeling showers with plastic curtains. We had manicures while the people behind us were getting blowouts. Conversation was next to impossible and relaxation was laughable. Spa treatments we average.
My wife got a serious eye infection from the spa, clearly the towels had not been cleaned or disinfected. I had also booked additional treatment which are supposed to be an additional 15 minutes each, these were 5 minutes tops. I spent over a week just trying to speak to someone at the spa the phone is never answered Very disappointed! The hotel is great and 5 * the spa 1* don't waste your money or time
Even though we were booked with a huge organization that rented out a ballroom and we rented a room for the night, I could not get an updo on my hair. I felt the spa staff were a bit unfriendly. Even though I called 2 wks ahead they could find no one to help me. Also the bar restaurant food menu was very limited and not very good. For 400.00 a night, they should be giving top, Friendly service.
If you want a massage that transcends space and time, ask for Nina! She did a fantastic job of locating knots I didn't even know were there. I left feeling like I was floating on a cloud. She's an incredibly kind, intuitive, and knowledgeable massage therapist. She's an amazing asset to an already phenomenal spa team. I felt so cared for by the entire staff. Thanks y'all and thanks Nina!
Spent a day of my bachelorette party here with a party of 9 and we had a wonderful experience. Lydia was so sweet and took care of everything we needed. Presenting me with a little goodie back and special dessert and I received a hydro facial that was most relaxing and appreciated. I was walked through all the facial steps, received advice and instruction for my dirtier skin goals. 10/10
I absolutely love this spa! My friend and I come here for every special occasion and it never disappoints. The services are amazing and the amenities allows it to be an all day experience. Bucky is my favorite massage therapist. Not only is he kind and friendly, but very talented and always provides top notch service!! Highly recommend seeing him if you go! Thank you Spa at Ballantyne!!
10/10 if you’re looking for a luxury spa this is your place! Of course I don’t have any photos of the spa because there was a no cellphone policy but it was a super nice experience. Everything was very calm and relaxing the staff was super welcoming and accommodating. The price point is a pretty penny but it’s so worth it. You get a complimentary drink with your services.
Beautiful upscale hotel. A little pricey, but you get what you pay for! The room was immaculate with in suite coffee and treats. Robe and slippers available for use, beautifully appointed bathroom and comfort bed. Sitting area with a wonderful view of the golf course grounds. Large modern office buildings set as a contrasting backdrop to the natural beauty of nature.
This is my go to for spa day period! Upscale is an understatement and any technician you choose is incredible! You get a pool pass for the day as well with your treatment and the atmosphere is just breathtaking! Hands down The Spa At Ballantyne has my business for life! I’ve traveled the world as a flight attendant and I give this spa my GREATEST recommendation!
This is a fact: You are charging a 2% credit card fee. That is a cost of you doing business with me; that is not my burden. If you must, then raise the cost of the services and let me, the customer make a decision whether or not I want the services at those new prices. I do not appreciate to see those fees attached to the bill.

Absolutely beautiful. Clean, spotless, the staff was very accommodating making sure we had food in our room since we would be arriving later than the chef was preparing food. This place was top notch and I felt like a princess. The bed and pillows were amazing and I had the best night sleep. Breakfast in the morning was delicious.
I have to rave on my nail tech Tetianna. She was lovely and gave me the best mani-pedi I've ever had- Not even kidding. It's been 2 weeks since, and my mani-pedi still look fantastic. No chips or cracks. Thank you Tetianna! It's a far drive for me, but it was worth it.

My wife was very pleased with the service. The holiday traffic caused her to run behind and the staff was understanding and extremly accommodating ensuring she received the top notch service they provide . I will be setting up a standing appointment for her and recommend the hot stone service …
Wow! This was an amazing manicure. This was a lavender spa manicure with Tatiana. She was amazing! Beautiful person and very friendly overall. The service was just wonderful. welcoming, and warm. I already have a pedicure planned for next week and I'm so excited to go back. This was definitely a treat!
I've been coming to this spa for years. Really good value. Schedule a treatment over $100 and you can have access the their gym, indoor pool, hot tub, sauna, steam room. They have a lovely waiting area where you can read a book and just unwind. You truly can spend the day here without it costing much.
The Spa is classy, elegant and provides quality services. I feel pampered after a day there. Order a light lunch while your relaxing on the terrace if you have time before or after your treatment. Need a quick gift, they have gift cards and put them in a beautiful gift presentation ready to go.
I went to the spa for a massage with Tracy and it was exactly what I needed! She listened to my needs and met them. The spa itself was nice and relaxing, although could use some updates and perhaps and good cleansing. The staff was welcoming and friendly. I'll be back

This spa is absolutely wonderful! I always wish I had more time to spend there. If you book a service that is over a certain amount, you get access to the fitness center and pool. You always get access to the sauna and steam room. The service providers are always so kind and comforting.

I went for birthday..last year in 30's..was amazing! Massage from Elisha was first class. I got my hair done and colored by Mayka and it turned out amazing. Was a great experience all around. I will definitely be going back. You are tuely treated special and pampered. Thank you !
The Spa at Ballantyne Hotel knows how to pamper its guests! The staff was very welcoming, accommodating, and the massage was unforgettable! I thoroughly enjoyed the 80-minute Matcha Detox Massage with Therapist Keisha Riley today. It was a girls-mother's staycation treat!
Nice staff and facilities - unfortunately there were some very loud children at the indoor pool that drove away many people. I didn’t mind it as much but it’s not what I imagined when I paid $$$ to have a quiet and relaxing time. The couples massage was fantastic though!
Best hotel I've stayed at yet. The hospitality was amazing. The rooms were clean and comfortable. I went down to the spa and had their signature Carolina Lavender massage and thoroughly enjoyed the service and the spa ad a whole. It was the perfect wedding night hotel.
Love this Spa! You must ask for Julie...nest hairstylist, colorist and person ! She brought me from blond to Red in one day! All love for this place..... and did I mention their spa packages are out of this world I can't wait to be given another one hurry please!
My partner and I had a wonderful time! Our couples massage is as fantastic as was my facial. I do wish the esthetician wouldn’t have talked so much during that, but she was very kind and my skin was glowing! Beautiful place and felt very clean and professional.
Lovely spa and incredible massages. Definitely the luxury experience. Took my mom for a relax day before my wedding and we loved it!

The massages at Ballantyne are wonderful, and I would rate them as 5-star. However, the spa services for manicures and pedicures is subpar and overpriced. I've tried this spa twice for mani/pedi's after a massage, and have had disappointing
Service was ok. When I bought 50 min massage I expected to get a full 50 min massage. If I added extra services then I would expect to get that in addition to my massage. The staff should have explained how the service works before we buy.
So disappointed. I scheduled to spa manicures for my mother-in-law and I thinking that this would be a more luxurious experience than the normal local nail places given the price ($60 each for gel nail polish plus a mandatory 20% tip). My
I have not been there lately as much building and construction. I hate that the beautiful golf course is gone. They need a gift shop again for us locals, ad well as out of town guests.

One of our best friends had a wedding here this weekend. My husband and I decided to stay one night to avoid any driving and have the opportunity to enjoy the event. I started my day at the spa which was phenomenal, ordered room service
Disappointed in my last nail appointment. Got a gel manicure, the tips and edges started to lift my the 3rd day. Then within a week half my gel polish came/peeled off like cheap polish. Never had gel do that before. Not happy with result
My mom and I love this spa, the staff is always friendly, massages are excellent, and the amenities are nice as well. Tonight we had a pedicure and it was delightful. Highly recommend the spa at Ballantyne, you can’t go wrong!
Spent the day with my partner at Ballantyne Spa. It was a wonderful way to spend the day! He got a deep tissue massage with Tracey that he enjoyed and the Warming River Rock massage with Bucky for me! Can’t wait to go back!
Basic human rights should include a massage from Bucky. I had the 80 minute lavender massage and it was life changing It was impossible not to be in the moment as he loosened tight muscles. A day later, I'm so relaxed
Such a delightful afternoon! I booked a manicure, pedicure and cut by a senior stylist. Jennifer performed all three services *amazingly* and with such a fun demeanor!! Definitely the best spa experience I’ve had!
This was my first visit to The Spa at Ballantyne and Sarah Clark was my masseuse. She did a phenomenal job! She was very knowledgeable and had the perfect touch. I will definitely be back. Ask for Sarah if you go!
Denny was absolutely amazing. I highly recommend him for reflexology. The Spa is quiet and peaceful. I especially like the respect and etiquette of not only the staff but other guest. Well worth the cost!
I love this place. It’s fancy and clean and so relaxing and really not even that expensive for what you get. I try to come here as often as I can, sadly that’s only about 2-3 times a year. So worth it!!!
Wonderful spa, staff, and amenities! It's a beautiful, peaceful place to relax and enjoy a day. It's definitely expensive and a splurge though! A great idea for a special gift for someone in your life!
Great experience. Sauna and steam rooms. Complimentary drinks. Heated pools. Top notch in every aspect. My massage therapist was Olive and she is amazing. This has to be the best spa in Charlotte.
1st time ever at Spa. Received an hour of massage & my lady, Christine, was absolutely AMAZING! Best massage yet. I would totally go back. It's pricey. It's a great idea for a Mother's Day gift.
Went for Mother/Daughter birthday massage. The atmosphere was luxurious, and the service was top-notch. Very clean, friendly, helpful, and our overall experience was 5 star. I highly recommend!
