My experience with ULaw is definitely one of the disheartening deprecating jokes I tell anyone when they ask me about my experiences at this university. One of the main issues with this institution is the lack of diversity, unknowingly doing research of my own while beginning the GDL BPP and ULaw were one of the only considerations in my pool. Being as it may, I went with ULaw due to them seemingly being extremely proactive and advocating for international students as such that caught my eye seeing as I am caribbean and have never been in the UK before. I do believe in institutions being inclusive and I take a particular schools ethnic demographic seriously as it depends on my comfortability for making friends and study groups. Upon arrival, 1) I was the only black international student in my class, despite the fact I tried to make friends I was still met with racial statements from my classmates.. 2) YES, I did email my tutor and whomever else making them aware of my uncomfortable position and asked that they moved me to a class with more international students. 3) I was then told by such tutors that due to the fact the racial slurs happened off school premises that was not enough for me to switch groups. Issue 4) Seemingly upon arrival the university was ready to send my right back to my country, due to a lack of their incapable administration who deals with the VISA team. Issue 1) I have never in my life ever encountered racism towards me.. nor have I ever been in a class room where I was the only black student. I came into ULaw thinking there would be diversity and friendly faces.. Issue 2) The tutors and teachers are equally extremely incompetent as they always reply days - weeks late, or doesn’t reply at all. They give extremely vague replies and overall not interested in the students. Issue 3) understandably they could not do as much due to the fact that this has happened off school campus, but either way if a student is bringing and issue such as racism - one would think switching classes would be one of utmost importance. Issue 4) I do not know what I would have done as I paid and secured nearly £20,000 dollars worth of accommodation knowing that during correspondence with the university they advised me all my paperwork was up to standard. To reaching there and being sent back home due to their incompetent VISA team, issuing too many CAS numbers. I would never recommend this university to any of my friends, families nor associates.. not even my enemies. I am now currently at BPP and have never been happier, the process was so much simpler.
EXTREMELY IRONIC THAT THEY ARE AN INSTITUTION OF LAW WHEN THIS IS THE BIGGEST SCAM OF A UNIVERSITY. Probably one of the worst educational institutions in Europe or even the world. I truly believe their high rankings are either paid-for or forged. There is absolutely no customer service. They probably have 3 people running the phone lines. The finance and visa teams are IMPOSSIBLE to reach. I even FLEW IN and went to campus to speak to those departments in person and was told they were not stationed at the university. I have a an unconditional offer from them with a scholarship and submitted ALL my documents and payments way ahead of time to have them tell me after weeks and weeks of pointlessly chasing them, that I cannot get my CAS and I would have to study online. Not only did they rob me of the chance to study face to face and gain more opportunities of knowing the UK working environment, but based on their offer I had rented a place and booked a flight to start my studying in London. I had to cancel all of that and it cost me a lot. Not even an apology. Straight up scammers. PS. their moto is "please send us an email". NOT ONCE did they respond to mine and when I called they claimed they never got any emails. When I gave them the references and proved I had sent them, they told me (wait for it) "SEND AN EMAIL" TOTAL JOKE
They do not reply to students’ emails. On the rare occasion they do, they ignore everything you’ve said and go off on their own tangent replying to a completely different context. There is poor communication amongst the teams - each time I call in to make enquiries, someone different gives me a different answer. Everyone has different information about the same thing. The concessions/mitigating circumstances procedure is terrible. At my previous university, the concession was either granted or refused before the exam/assignment deadline. At ULaw, you only find out whether you have been granted the concession on results day - if you are refused, you are basically doomed. They constantly send emails asking for monies, which is very stressful. Unless all balances are paid and up to date, assessment results are not published. There are also barely any lectures. I have paid £13.8k for a course only to read from a book and receive the odd lecture here and there - at least the textbooks were included in the fees. Overall, I don’t have much positive things to say about my experience. Only good thing is the reputation, which means nothing compared to the poor service provided.
VERY BAD EXPERIENCE !! BELOW I AM SHARING MY EXPERIENCE Firstly I apply for May2022 intake I got offer letter in just 4 days(December 29) but after one month university mail me to defer my application to September 2022 intake and promise me to give priority in September2022. and i decided to continue with univ of law as they promise to give priority so on May 26 I pay my Full fees i.e. 10500 and fill right to study form on very next day after that they want some additional which i provide on time for 3 months university not giving response i do numerous call and email there are more then 12 reminder in one single mail and on sep 6 i received a mail to defer the my application again to sept 2023 seriously they just play with student emotion and most importantly after saying giving priority in next intake they request me to defer again University waste my 11 months now visa compliance not replying my single mail and on the time of admission or collecting fees they revert within 24 hr PLEASE PLEASE IF YOU RECEIVED OFFER LETTER PLEASE DONT PAY FEES BECOUSE THEY WILL GIVE OFFER LETTER TO EVERYONE BUT ON THE TIME CAS THEY STOP REVERTING WORST UNIVERSITY
If you are an international student please do NOT apply! Their customer care is non-existent once you pay the course fee/deposit. You will have to chase them day and night to get confirmation of payment but even then you can only hope and pray that they send some sort of written proof of having processed it. One week delay is understandable but when your semester is starting in two weeks and you have yet to receive payment confirmation or the CAS from the university it is enough to wear out anyone's patience. Weeks of silence and lack of empathy from the support staff is all that you can expect. Please please choose a uni that fully supports international students and understands their circumstances. Pursuing further studies in the UK is an expensive dream and one that needs lot of planning and support from your family. Having crossed all the hurdles and getting to this point to have the university delay the process is unpleasant to say the least!
I wish i was able to give them zero star. It's the worst university. They function like a big business/cooperation they do not care for their students at all - its all about the money. They refused to give me my exam result even though I've paid majority of my fees and only has about £1,000 outstanding plus i still have couple of months to go before finishing. I pleaded with them to allow me few more weeks to pay, but they refused and now I don't know what exams I passed and which i need to resit. I don't feel as though they understand and acknowledge that Covid has impacted their students mentally and financial. They have zero customer service, they hardly pick up the phones and their staff is rude. The teaching isnt all that great either. I wish i went to another Law school, but its too late now. It's definitely not worth how much we are paying! I WANT MY MONEY BACK.
The course was delayed in 2021, they're asking for money in 2023!!! I enrolled in a SQE course in 2021, that course was delayed for months until I no longer wish to participate in it. I have never attended a single day of class because of the delay. As I had no time for their mess, I didn't attempt to withdraw or request for a refund of 800+ GBP. In 2023, they allege that I owe them 2000+ GBP in unpaid fees, saying that it's because I did not withdraw from the course. The cheeks!! The delay isn't for a day or 2, it was for MONTHS! They never attempted to contact me throughout the time I did not attend the course, then suddenly sends me an email in 2023 to my private email address asking for money as though I owe them a debt. I am still speaking to them about the situation, but if there is no satisfactory answer from them I will look to bring a legal case against them.
Starting my masters in cyber security and data governance this year. I did my Bachelor with them as well in business management and digital marketing. So far I had a good experience. Teachers are very passionate and they love their jobs. They are always looking for ways to make classes interesting by having group projects. I gave 4 stars because the administration team of the university is not good. I got my timetable 1 week before starting classes...they are a bit difficult to reach over the phone and talk with the right person for inquiries is not easy....and they don’t reply to emails fast. The administration of the university is a bit messy, they need better people to manage the university. Overall im happy with this university and I will recommend it to someone looking to study business subjects.
Awful place. International students STAY AWAY ! I was asked to submit documents for my CAS but had technical issue with their portal. I called to report this and was asked to email the team, which I did and never got a response. Instead, I was told days after that I had missed the CAS deadline and my place was deferred. Mind you, they did this in August when I had ample time to submit a visa application in time for the October start. I am now asking for a refund on the fees I paid and have been in limbo for a month despite being told it would take 7 to 10 working days. I have tried calling only to be put on hold for hours at a time before getting an automated response ending each call. Terribly inefficient place, I wish I could give them 0 stars. International students please beware!
I studied the GDL at this university and the course was very well taught and organized however I had a lot of issues with the visa office. I think they have very little experience and they are not up-to-date with current immigration laws. I think INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS should think twice before signing up. Maybe it’s because it’s not a real university that they don’t know how to deal with these situations. But basically right after the course was over they blatantly told me to leave the country without any chance to sign up for the LPC. And go back home and obtain a new visa there. Honestly, I advise international students to go for City law school or BPP as they know how to accommodate their students better. I never had this issue when I was studying at City.
Scam !! (Pictures included) Do not fall into this university (Not a University). If you're a Home Student don't even consider going there! A waste of student finance! Use the same UCAS points to apply to a genuine university ranked in THE, Guardian. International students if you need a CAS you won't get it from this establishment !! They will steal your money and advise you to study from home (Because they are red-listed with the Home Office sponsor list. all applications applying to this establishment are considered high-risk). Unless you thinking to get a visa rejection or banned from the UK is worth the risk! Be my guest.
When I called the finance department the man who works there didn’t solve my problem. Literally laughed at me. Then spoke over me repeatedly saying ‘is there anything else I can help you with.’ But when I had to send money it was a really calm and thorough discussion. Obviously.... your finance department is letting you down BIG time. Sadly, seems like the team really don’t care so it’s a bad look. That said, great teaching structure. But, better management would be great! I presume due to Covid-19 there’s a large amount of emails and stuff to go through but people are waiting a realllyy long time.
Most of the tutors are excellent. The facilities are very good. It’s when you need to talk to someone on the phone that things take a turn for the worse. It’s often impossible to get through to most departments. The Assessments team in particular can be pretty hopeless - the lady who has been manning the phones for the last while has a very loose grasp of university assessment policies, often completely misstating them, and has a tendency to be rather impolite.
Very bad experience. After receiving a conditional offer, I have sent all the documents they have requested a week before the deadline. I called them every day in the week leading to the deadline and no one was able to give me an update, just that the application is with another team. Now I’ve been told it’s too late to consider my application because the deadline has passed. Terrible!
Probably the worst university in the whole UK. I paid my prepayment fee £3000 2 weeks ago via bank transfer but my application portal still says fee not received yet. I have emailed the finance team twice in the last week and they haven’t replied once yet. I’ll also be complaining about Ulaw wherever I can to help other students not choose this university.
I would not recommended at all. This people seems like don't know what they are doing. Especially on SQE preparation courses. They have constant issues with IT, access to online board etc. I am waiting 1 month now for my refund and no one even bother to answer my emails. When I call all the time I can hear that they have issue with system.
AWFUL!!!! avoid at all costs especially if you are an international student. They are extremely extremely unhelpful, it is near impossible to contact anyone and when you finally get through it seems as though it's their first day on the job. They seem to have no actual information whatsoever and refuse to help.
All I remember from this place is negative memories. Absolutely terrible customer service. Spoke to a woman from the assessments department named Sharania and she was absolutely no help towards me when I was trying to find out about my results. She was very rude and patronising towards me. Pathetic.
University of Law London Moorgate campus's faculty is really good as well as the environment and Teaching style is really appreciated, the way they engage students and the events happening in it to educate new international student to understand the culture is really helpfull and appreciated.
Worst instiution in the world, wish i knew how terrible it was. Run in the most inefficient and inadequate manner. Could be run better by a 5 year old. Honestly, run the other way and save your pennies, because boy i wish i did!! Just another life mistake, but please learn from my experience.
I've transferred to the Moorgate campus in January 2023. Modern building in the heart of the city. The library has 3 floors, I believe. The quiet area is actually quiet. The only and only downside is that it closes at 10pm, whereas the Bloomsbury Campus closes at midnight.
There is a good amount of resources to study from in the library. There is also a cyber cafe with PC available and seating areas for students to socialise. Beside Costa on site there is also a cafeteria that provides salads, hot soups and beverages.
I am university of law in business school students and this university is very good and very good my experience and all staf are very friendly and helpful like family type so I like to much this university.☺️✨ …
Worst university Don’t apply in law literally they are wasted our time I applied for sept 2022 thn they differ for Jan nd after 1 month they reject my application Now it very difficult to me to caught jan intake
Was interested in studying here however the rude staff and terrible customer service put me off. They have proven to me that they are only after money and don’t care about the students.
This university playing with student emotions and at the end not issue Cas ..paid fees and after 3 months they defer from sep 22 to sep 23 ..wt a joke Scam they are fraud
Worst helpline,I just want to know result publication date and all they are doing is transferring calls to one another.Samuel and radhika are worst to talk with.
As I am student of it so it creates my affiliation for the place , the facilities here are best for student. Everything available and staff is cooperative
I am student at university of law and my experience is so good or this is the best place for international student to study in university of law
Embarassing. The only law you learn here is how to bring them to Court for their mishandling and damages that they cause to your education
I Went for an open day and it was great . I think I would be a fantastic institution to study with all the support available. …
Can't believe it is even called a university with how bad the programs are. Can't get in touch with finances office. What a joke.

waiting time for calls to be answered is appalling waiting for more than two hours and no response
Never apply in this university , if you're international student they never issue you CAS letter!
On hold for half an hour only to then be hung up on by an automated response
If I could give negative stars I would. Horrible to international students!!
