The milk aisle in the Woolies perpetually smells like raw sewage, but the Butcher outside is so good that if he were any more passionate about his meat he'd be seen at the beat. Top notch stuff boys. Update 2023: The milk aisle no longer smells like raw sewage, and the entire woolies is now pretty flash. I still prefer to buy fresh produce from the markets outside, when they're on, but can't fault the revamp of Woolies in Kelvin Grove. Nicely done, if not a bit flash for a Woolies, and most importantly doesn't smell. Unfortunately the Butcher is no longer there, but has apparently moved to Carole Park (Adam's Continental Smallgoods?).
This is not a traditional shopping centre. It is a shopping precinct that covers 1 block. There is a Woolworths Supermarket and numerous eateries, mostly serving Chinese food. Subway and Oporto also have a presence. There is also numerous Student accommodation blocks which cater for the QUT students. The surrounding streets have various shops and Service Industry Offices. Street and high rise car parking is available.
nothing new! good for students ..get some deals saturday markets are cute! turkish food is the best in the area! maybe in Brisbane Turkish owner is a pleasure talking with him warm people, charming chef awsome food, bread made in premises turkish authentic delicious food great location turkish music and decoration are awsome great value for money...unpretencious
You can go to woolworth to buy groceries and get fruits for your kids for free. Lately there is a new fruit and vegetable store near woolworth and I think it's the cheapest around Kelvin Grove areas. The car park is provided for 2 hours free. I found problem with the entrace car park gate several times so my car can't go in and I have to cancel my visit here.
The Saturday markets brings all the locals out for a pleasant morning of food, coffee, produce and catching up. The centre itself has a selection of casual (mainly Asian) restaurants and eateries, plus a modestly outfitted Woolies Metro. Services like a gym, swimming pool, barbers and discount store are onsite in the various buildings around the main complex.
Don't use the toilets here unless you like being yelled at by the disgustingly rude and undignified cleaner. Talking to the staff members here reveals that he regularly insults and berates people for using the bathroom like it's intended. I won't be returning until he is fired. Also their contact number goes to a fax machine. Talk about laziness.
Village centre is a very good place for shopping I normally go there for food sometimes there is Nando's there is other Asian food options and there is also grocery shopping fruit and veg I mean everything that you need for day today shopping there's nothing that you can't get when it comes to food and groceries
It's great if you're looking for something to eat, but not much else. There's a butcher, a Woolworths, and a salon, but otherwise the centre consists of restaurants and cafes. The Woolworths is probably the worst in Brisbane, but that's understandable as it is designed only to service uni students
There are some great shops here, good fish and chip shop. Things can be a bit expensive, especially at the " cheap" shop Woollies is small, staff can be fun. Wish domino's would make better pizza. All in all, you will find something to eat. Bws is staffed by great people, Petals is great …
Great music. Great food and the best massage therapist. Daniel is soft spoken but strong Hands and he knows what he's doing. I need him so I can work in the Film industry. His foot massage is so good. I worry about my facial expressions in public. While trying not to cry out. …
This place has been home for the last 10 years. We moved here with our son when he was just a year old, now he has 2 little sisters. When we do move on to a bigger place, we will miss Kelvin Grove dearly. So convenient to everything and the locals are so friendly.
Nice area I visit on weekends for a haircut when street parking is free, it's a short Uber ride to the city from here if you don't want to pay for parking or you can walk in. Be careful in the centre toilets some creep looks over the toilet cubicle wall
Wandered around looking for a coffee. There were no open coffee shops at 5pm. In fact, there is only one proper coffee shop on Carraway Street. There used to be multiple. Many empty shop fronts. Hope the Centre picks up in the new year.
Nice shopping centre but parking can be problematic. Has a Coles, medical suites, newsagent and smoke shop and the best doughnuts ive ever tasted . . . . Benches are available but it can be noisy at times.
The Woolworths metro is wiping out all the small businesses. Its quite sad to witness. Please support the butcher, bakery & stores on carraway & musk. Woolworths does not participate in the village spirit.
It's close from the Kelvin Grove Campus, quite convient but groceries price are not cheap enough for students (particularly Woolworths), variety of products are not enough. It really needs to be improved.
Lots of variety of shops and great restaurants. Parking can be challenging at times, but early in the morning, there is plentyofparking. Love the Kelvin Grove Village Markets! on every Saturday.
The village is great for food and outdoor dining and plenty to choose from, it also has a supermarket there, a butcher, bottle shop and pharmacy, on weekends there is also farmers markets
Few days ago, I had inspection at the village centre Kelvin Grove. I found that a beautiful place and the apartments are spacious, clean and are the centre of market and near QUT
Perfect place for an Asian meal whether dining in or takeaway. Good food and service. Alfresco dining too. Always moderately busy and clearly have a solid following.
Good area with plenty of food options available very close to qut. Really nice area to live and shop. The fried chicken place as well as Yums kitchen are a must try
Absolutely love it, 2 hours free parking for the village centre. A wide range of shops and woolworths. If you don't want to head to a major Shopping Centre, go here
I won't be using this centre ever again because of the terrible parking system. They recently changed it and now making heaps of profit with parking breach fees.
Average shopping area with a Woolworths and a few mixed services including a pharmacy and several eating places. No newsagent and the post office is up the hill.
Woolworths is expensive without too many discount compared to other Supermarkets in nearby Suburbs. Restaurants are ok very convenient and has plenty of variety.
Kelvin Grove Urban Village , has a lovely variety of shops, and wonderful multi cultural food outlets. Close, convenient and lots of parking.
Why everyone has to take ticket to park there as their number plate recognized on the way in. Be environmentally friendly mate. Thanks
There's not much here. Parking is terrible. Good for ducking in if you're already on campus, but no reason to come here otherwise.
Quaint and cozy atmosphere. The markets are lovely, if a little small, but there is some fantastic, exotic food available.
Has everything you need, coffee shops, restaurants, and Woolworths. Across the road is the QUT Health Precinct.
MNy different shops and restaurants at good location, loves there are lots of covered parking space underneath
Great location and clean environment. Plenty of parking slots and easy access to the supermarket and stores.
The days in Brisbane weren't kind to me - 3 days rain, the Shopping Centre gave me much relieve and calm.
Its so expensive and you didn't get so much price down (offer)here cause it is metro compare to coals.
Picked up some essential items for our picnic lunch. Enjoyed the garlic stuffed hot chicken. …
Village is a perfect description, said from the ride Barber each of the stores are kind a friendly
It was clean and their was very good customer service and tasty food and beverages at the cafe
Great range of food & specialties with generally good service, quality & good parking options
Great little village shopping area with amazing restaurants could use a ramen joint though
A very good facility for [surrounding] School district. Every day-to-day need is there.
This Library english conversion was so good for me. Every Thursday at 13:00 start
