"Terrible customer service and unreasonable unethical business practices "
"Absolutely thrilled with their selection, prices and customer service! I don’t know how but they had a couple Moxi Classic Gummi wheels still in stock, I have been looking for them for weeks and they are sold out everywhere! I ordered some purple ones and Claudia messaged me to let me know that she only had one pack left but had some green ones, I had a feeling this could happen due to everyone being sold out and honestly was expecting there to be none left at all"
"Disappointed"
"Yet again, another incredible customer service experience with Claudia"
"Ordered a pair of Chaya Voyager skates online and they're exactly what I hoped for - thank-you Toe Stop! You'll absolutely be my first shop-stop in the future for any skate needs"
Terrible customer service and unreasonable unethical business practices . Order somewhere else! My experience buying online as I have never been to the store in person: I found the pair of skates that I was looking for on the website and for my size it read “only one left in stock” so I went ahead and purchased it right away. I came back to the description page after paying for the order and noticed that at the bottom of the page when you scroll down, there was some text saying that they would not be actually available to ship for maybe 2-3 months. I immediately emailed and asked if, given the confusion from the website I would be able to cancel. They told me that the skates were actually in pre-order and they did not know when they would be available to ship, but 5 minutes later I had a cancelation email with the full purchase amount listed. I figured, since it was only 15 minutes between order and cancellation, the payment shown as pending on my credit card would just disappear, but A few days later, I checked my credit card and noticed that the full payment was billed and a refund for the total -40 dollar was issued. Note that this was not informed to me when I asked if a cancellation was possible nor when I received the cancellation email; which listed the full order amount. I emailed to ask about it, and instead of giving me an answer, I just received a screenshot with a red circle over the text “pre-orders subject to shipping charge when cancelled” or something along those lines. Not even a Hello, or any text on the email, just the passive aggressive screenshot. I sent an email offering pay for any hardship imposed during my 15 minutes of holding their inventory or processing fees for the credit card, but asking to reconsider a $40 fee for such a small amount of Time and effort, I did not hear back. In my opinion this is a very unethical practice. $40 dollars is such an unreasonable cancellation fee, specially when the skates are not even in-stock. I can’t see how my 15 minutes of confusion could have caused this cost to be incurred . Even if there was nothing that could be done, I would have expected an explanation on why the $40 dollar was spent or a quick note instead of just ignoring me and sending rude screenshots. This is not good customer service and it makes it seem like they just made an easy $40 dollars by doing absolutely nothing and within 15 minutes of not very hard work.
Absolutely thrilled with their selection, prices and customer service! I don’t know how but they had a couple Moxi Classic Gummi wheels still in stock, I have been looking for them for weeks and they are sold out everywhere! I ordered some purple ones and Claudia messaged me to let me know that she only had one pack left but had some green ones, I had a feeling this could happen due to everyone being sold out and honestly was expecting there to be none left at all. Decided to be spunky and get one pack of green and one pack of purple. Claudia replied back agreeing that it would be a good colour combo and said the order will be shipped tomorrow! Shocked by how fast she has put together the order and gotten it ready to ship, I was expecting it to take a few days since skate shops have been pretty busy. Also think she’s stayed at the store a while later to get the order ready as she messaged me after store hours, this shop truly goes above and beyond. Everyone needs to check out this skate shop! I wish I moved to Edmonton instead of Calgary so that I could visit in person, I guarantee I would leave with a million different colours of wheels and laces. I will have to plan a trip once covid is over! Also dog friendly??? And open late??? Yes please
Disappointed. My wife found this place on Facebook and was really excited to check them out. We arrived in the early afternoon on a Saturday to discover that they are not allowing people inside and that all orders must be placed online. After some research I did find this policy on Google but it wasn't made clear on their Facebook which is where we saw the shop in the first place. This in and of itself wouldn't have been a problem as I respect a business' right to protect their staff and the public but when my wife asked to come in and browse she was simply told "No". That's it, just NO. Not "I'm sorry but due to public health concerns......" or "We'd love to have you but due to AHS protocols...". Simply NO, and after a long pause she added "Not for the past month". With a strange look we turned around and walked away feeling awkward. It was a terrible customer service experience. One last note for potential new customers to be aware of that isn't mentioned on the Facebook page is that if you are looking for the shop it isn't actually a store front. The business is run from what I assume is the owner's home so when you pull up in front of a house you are indeed in the right place.
Yet again, another incredible customer service experience with Claudia. She told me about the amazing Chaya Melrose Elite skates, and I knew I had to have them. Once they arrived, there was a small manufacturing issue, which Claudia swiftly sorted out for me. These skates are seriously fantastic. The padding feels like memory foam, and I could skate in them in hours they are so comfy. They are so light, I could not believe it. It feels like I just have regular shoes on my feet, which allows me to jump much higher since I don't have any extra weight! They feel extremely sturdy and safe going down ramps. The stock wheels and bearings they come with are sooo smooth outside, I didn't know it was possible for stock wheels and bearings to feel so good! No need for an upgrade here! And the toe stops.. they are incredible. Plus Chaya donates some of the proceeds to LGBTQ+ charities, (who wouldn't want to support that!) and the rainbow pattern is stunning. Over all this is an amazing skate for the price point straight out of the box, and don't need any upgrades. I am so happy with these skates!
Ordered a pair of Chaya Voyager skates online and they're exactly what I hoped for - thank-you Toe Stop! You'll absolutely be my first shop-stop in the future for any skate needs. For anyone reading reviews before purchasing from Toe Stop, especially those of you purchasing online like I did because you don't live near the shop, their website is accessible, efficient and what's pictured online is exactly what I promptly received in the mail. I used the website's sizing recommendations and ordered a pair of skates that fit more comfortably than any pair of shoes I own. Totally looking forward to a summer of commuting to work on my skates!
I just bought my daughter her first pair of skates, a helmet, and protective pads. I was able to speak with Claudia on the phone beforehand, and she clarified sizes/fit and answered all my questions. My daughter LOVES the new gear, and everything fits perfectly. Thank you, Claudia...we will definitely shop again soon!
Super fast shipping! Ordered fundae wheels from Toe Stop on Friday, shipped and arrived all the way from Edmonton to Toronto by Tuesday morning! I also liked that the packaging was small and not a box in a box in a box with a bunch of packaging waste. I plan on shopping at Toe Stop Derby Shop again
Customer service is essentially the main thing and look for. Loyalty comes more for that than pricing. I was super impressed with the speed and enthusiasm I was shown. I will for sure be back!! Side note. She helped me replace a part under warranty. I didn't spend a cent this trip. Many thanks!
The most amazing experience getting my first skates today. What a super sweet women and a sick shop. Showed me the budget buys as well as the next step up, super helpful in sizing me for all my gear. Great conversation and super clean/safe! Thanks so much I recommend this spot to everyone.
Claudia was so helpful while trying to outfit my daughter with roller skates. We booked a time online and it was well worth a bit of a drive to visit in person. I could not believe the variety of stock that she had in Edmonton. I love supporting a local business!
Great experience dealing with the owner of this shop. All my protective gear came in the mail and nothing fit. She let me come by the shop and exchange for the correct sizes and recommended a better wrist guard. I’ll definitely come back in the future.
Bought my first pair of skates ever here and the owner was so helpful! I have pretty bad feet (bunions and joint issues) and was having trouble finding info online elsewhere but one call to the shop and the owner let me know which brands
I feel that I was sold poor quality, ill-suited skates in place of the brand I originally intended to purchase. At the time, the ones I wanted were on back order & it’s my belief that the owner took advantage of my lack of wherewithal &
Couldn't have asked for a better experience. I had tons of questions and the owner was extremely knowledgable and helpful. She set me up with my absolute dream skates! If you're ever in Edmonton make sure you check this place out! <3
Excellent customer service and super nice owner. She was so helpful with my skate purchase, and all my questions leading up to my decision. She went above and beyond my expectations. Definitely visiting again for future purchases.
Had the best experience buying from toe stop derby shop! the owner was so helpful and patient while I asked s million questions! Definitely recommend picking up all your roller skating gear here!
Excellent service throughout this pandemic! I bought my first pair of skates and they fit like a glove. The lady who helped me was very kind and knowledgeable.
Shipping to the US was so quick - my skates arrived sooner than expected! They also fit really well as I used the size guide on their website. Very happy!
Had a great experience! Customer service was great, super knowledgeable and a great selection! Super happy with my first set of roller skates !
Great customer service. Honest opinions about gear. My next pair of skates will be purchased here. Thanks for being so cool Toe stop!
Super stocked shop. Staff is attentive, knowledgeable and will help you find what your need. I'll be back soon
She rocks! Super helpful with answering any questions and gives affordable and realistic recommendations.
Great selection of helmet colours and super fast shipping! I got it in less than a week after ordering.
Wonderful customer service. Very friendly and had great advice for a first time roller skater.
Ladie talks your ear off, and I guarantee she tells every new customer about her daughter
