I had no problem with this location until 3 days ago. In fact moving in was a breeze with the other guy that served me. First of all my monthly payment wasn't taken out so I called to inform them. Talked to Alex who told me that he has just started a week ago and after checking he said that auto pay wasn't checked on my account. He thanked me for alerting them. So he takes out my payment , which was wrong because late charges were added and it certainly wasn't my fault that the payment wasn't taken out! I called him back, he reversed the charges, took out the correct amount, which the reversal shows up my credit card only today. TODAY I FIND OUT THAT ANOTHER CHARGE HAS BEEN PUT ON FOR THE SAME AMOUNT!! I called the customer service to speak to a manager and asked a woman to connect me to one She said Alex was the General Manager and before she could connect me she needs to know why I was calling. I told her the story and she wanted to look up my profile. Why? I doubt that she's authorized to reverse the charges so all she had to do was connect me to the manager. I hung up and called this location. Of course no answer. I called back to the call center and a snobby woman told me that they were not available at that location. I'm trying to get these extra charges reversed. Why are they giving me a hard time? Obviously I can't get a hold of anyone so I have no choice but to visit the location myself. Very bad customer service all the way around! Update 10 17 am Sept 30/2020 I talked to the General Manager, Alex again. He told me that that he did not take out any other charges so I sent him a screenshot of my bank statement. He gave me his personal email. He still refused to see that he made another error and said he will call me tomorrow because I'm obviously upset and he can't talk to me. Well he's refusing to see his error..again. Who wouldn't be upset? What kind of customer service is he giving? I asked him if he wouldn't be upset that he was being charged 4 times for one payment! One is reversed but I still have paid 2 charges for one month storage facilities. And if I hadn't have called in the first place, I would have been receiving free storage for who knows how long because auto-pay wasn't ticked on in my account. Talk about gratitude. Makes me wonder if being honest was the right thing to do. He tried to talk over me like I was the one in the wrong here. He sounds like quite the bully. Obviously a customer will be upset if they're overcharged. He started a week ago and obviously he knows nothing about customer service as well as how to put through a payment. I called my bank and they agreed this was quite a mess and to inform them if these charges aren't taken off. Stilll waiting for my extra charges to be reversed. I will be taking my auto-pay off the record and just pay the extra $2.00 and call in my payment every month. I don't need a repeat of this.
This was by far the worst u-haul we have ever dealt with. We had made all the arrangements and done all the paperwork the day before we were scheduled to pick up the truck. When we arrived, the lone clerk was dealing with another customer. They went out to get their truck and we were left standing there for about a half an hour. Turns out their truck was dirty and needed to be cleaned. To be honest, we weren't all that upset at first but as the time dragged on and his apparent lack of concern for us became apparent, we began to get a little peeved. He was totally unapologetic when he finally returned to look after us. But, we needed a truck so we proceeded. When we brought the truck back a few hours later the real fun started. It took the same guy over a half an hour to process a $20 payment. He couldn't figure out how to work his debit machine. After about 20 minutes we asked him if he could get a manager to figure it out because he had already wasted so much of our time. He identified himself as the manager. We gave him a $20 bill instead of the debit card and it took him over 10 minutes to process that payment. When we voiced our concerns about how much of our day had been wasted he couldn't care less. I will still deal with U-haul but will never return to the Inkster location. Do yourself a favour and head to the U-Haul on McPhillips instead. They are polite and efficient. To add insult to injury, they ran the full charge later on the credit card we used to book the truck even though we paid the bill in cash. Is this more incompetence or is it theft?
Trailer hitch installed on my Jeep almost a year ago; first time I tried to hook up a trailer to it all of my tail lights died on the right side of my Jeep. uhaul had spliced the trailer wiring into the right rear tail light - rather than use the factory coupler for trailer wiring - causing a fault. Yesterday I go to hook up my trailer to move to BC and no lights at all. I called uhaul, and was told to "Drop by anytime 7am to 7pm to have it checked". So I drive down at 5pm and they tell me that their tech went home and come back at 8am tomorrow (today). So today I show up AGAIN at 8am and they refused to look at it. They now say that they're too busy and told me that their next appointment was on August 28th (1 month from now!). I took my truck to Saturn trailers and this is what they found; a heat shrink connector that wasn't shrunk at all. That turquoise powder you see coming out of the connector (photos attached) used to be copper wiring - before it rotted away with unfettered exposure to the elements. I probably would have skipped leaving a bad review anyway; except for the "sorry we can't get you in to check the wiring for a month" this morning. That's too much. What good is a "lifetime warranty" if they refuse to get you in? Nothing but trouble with this trailer hitch ever since it was installed.
Upon reading the reviews, I wish I read them prior to renting as I see others have had similar experiences. This is a rating for U-Haul primarily as I'm not completely sure where the problem fully lies. We rented a 6*12 trailer for a 24 hour period from the Inkster location - 615pm Friday to 615 pm Saturday. 5 hours before we were to pick up our rental I got a call from UHaul saying they do not have the trailer for us - something about repairs and offered a smaller trailer. I wasn't happy as we needed the bigger one. The lady on the phone did say that she would give me the $50 reservation guarantee so that was nice. Not even 5 minutes after getting off the phone she calls me back saying as a matter of fact they do that the trailer and the story changed to being something to do with scheduling. When we picked up the trailer, I almost got charged double what the amount was supposed to be. Next day, we are running a little behind so we called 3 hours prior to our drop off time and were informed that there was no other reservation after us and we could extend our rental. Only to get a call later saying that someone was at the location waiting for the trailer and that they had it reserved for 5pm. That's an hour and 15 BEFORE our 24 hours were up. No impressed and won't be renting a UHaul again
Overall Experience with this location was very bad. I booked the 20' truck in person almost a month ago (1st week of April,2022) for 30th April,2022 for my trip from Winnipeg to Calgary. Everything was planned accordingly but 2 days before my schedule pick up I got call and was told that there's no truck available in the Winnipeg. I was not expecting that. lady on the phone told me they have truck available at Red Lake, Ontario (that's almost 6 hrs drive from Winnipeg). I said I would not be able to go there and then she said that there is another one at Winkler but that's 15' truck not the one that I booked. the other option she gave me was to cancel the reservation. WOW. The very next day I went to the office where I did the booking. there were two persons there. there were unprofessional customer representatives. I described my situation to them but they did not even pretend that they care about customers and were having wicked smiles. they said that it was not a guarantee that you would get a truck. I said nobody told me about that at the time of booking. They put me in a difficult situation. ATLEAST LET YOUR CUSTOMERS KNOW THAT THERE IS LESS CERTAINTY THAT YOU GET A TRUCK FOR THAT KIND OF TRIP.
Rented a 15' truck from 8 to 4 as that's all they had. My son and I were the only 2 moving me and at 3 we realized that we needed another hour for about 1 1/2 loads, I called and was on hold for 30 minutes, the guy finally got on the line and put me on hold for another 15 minutes, we decided to quickly drive back and pick up another load, I got a call at 4:05 asking if I was on my way with the truck, I said I called you guys and asked for another hour, the guy said nope, we have someone here waiting to pick up the truck. We need it back. Brought it back gassed up and clean and they ended up refunding me 10 dollars, I asked how I'm supposed to transport the rest of my items, I would need at least a 10' truck to finish the job. I had to go from the century location down to the Inkster location and rent another truck! In the end it cost me 300 dollars to move, I could've hired movers! I was so mad. If you can find an alternative way to move, use it. Staff were rude at the century location, they charged me for cleaning when we swept out the truck and made sure the bags were put back appropriately. If I ever had to move again, I will use movers for the amount of money I ended up spending.
Worst Customer Service in the store. Amandeep is unapologetic, shes always saying its not her fault and she cant do anything. I thought a front person in the store should be the focal person who will help you, will respect and will attend to your needs. I felt discrimated because of my skin colour. This is what stands out on what she told me “i dont care if you are going to file a complaint, my boss knows me well.” Well, shes very tough and not afraid even if i will file complaint. I dont know the reason but this might be the reason why shes very tough and very arrogant. (I’ve been with customer service industry for so long and this is the worst that I have encountered). I’m hoping that the Uhaul company will investigate and do some action regarding this matter. Your campany will gonna be on risk if the said lady will not change her attitude and will be working there for long.
Well, I dealt with Ryan. As long as everyone is as knowledgeable, friendly, patient and respectful as he was, then you have nothing to improve on. He helped me through every step of the way. He suggested a different trailer than what I was thinking was best. (He was right). Even gave tips and pointers how to secure my load in the trailer as well. I was moving a really awkward load. Top heavy and wobbly. But everything Ryan said made sense and there was zero issues. Thanks for you help and knowledge Ryan. This was old school “TRUE CUSTOMER SERVICE”. What I believe the world is missing these days. Someone who actually cares about servicing the customer and the safety of his customers. This is a lost art these days. The only words that come to my mind to describe my experience would be “wow factor”. Thanks again. I will be back.
Well, when we initially made the reservation it was for one location but when confirmed was directed to a different location across the city. Since we are charged by km, I feel the customer service aspect was lacking in this regard. Upon arrival we were told we had to find street parking for our personal vehicle while using the rental. While using the rental, the overall maintained of the vehicle was of concern as low engine oil sensor kept appearing while at an idol. We then returned the vehicle an hour and a half early, however still received a call 30 minutes after scheduled drop off time informing us of late fees, meanwhile the reception had simply forgotten to put the keys back. Overall this was not a great experience and we will likely seek other rental options for future projects.
The trailer rental was above and beyond my expectations. The male attendant was beyond helpful and pleasant. The woman, at the Inkster location, that booked me in was extremely professional and accommodating. The return process was seemless. I highly recommend this location to anyone who needs to rent a vehicle, trailer or what ever they have. The online booking is another story. I was sent to 3 different location before ending up at the Inkster location. The online personal seemed exusitive at times, and informed me that when l book a rental at a specific location that I should expect NOT to pick up from the location of my closest convenience! The people at the Inkster location made up for the online "support".
Terrible... I booked a 20ft truck to drive 1600km almost a month in advance at the Inkster location, only 2 blocks away from my storage unit... They called me 3 days before confirming that my truck was going ready for Thursday... ####on the day before, they move my truck pick up to U-Haul on century#### When I got there they gave me a 26 foot truck old as hell, the oldest in their fleet the receptionist said... I said I only need a 15 ft... I request a 20ft to be safe... Now, I'm sure I will burn way more fuel if this piece of junk make there. And this is not all, has no USB charger and the 12v adapter charger doesn't work. Very disappointed with U-Haul service. If I make there, I will make another review!
Very bad customer service! We have an appointment at 5pm today, AMANDEEP SANDHU the lady in the front teal informed us that there’s no technician around so we need to wait for 30 minutes. After 30 minutes we went inside the building to recheck she informed us that we need to wait for another 30 minutes. Were complaining about how come there’s no technician available since we have booking. She mentioned that its not her fault and on keep on smilling like a wicked smile. He didnt even apologize and keep on telling us that its not her fault. How come a customer service personnel cant even apologize? She keep on saying its not her fault and she cant do anything. Were from outside winnipeg.
The gentleman working here was excellent in trying to repair what U-Haul had done. We had booked a 6 by 8 unit months in advance to move my son from Winnipeg to London Ontario when we went to pick it up we were told there weren't any in Winnipeg and 3 hours away there was one in Elkhorn. U-Haul refused to do anything and the regional level to assist. They ended up giving us a smaller trailer which forced my son to leave items behind and having to purchase new ones. Overall I found our dealings with U-Haul to be terrible in terms of customer service. Not sure why you have to reserve something months in advance to to find out when you need it that it is not available.
As a long-term renter of storage lockers from Alex & his team at U-Haul on Inkster, I am beyond happy with the quality of service and amazing experience we have had to date. Staff are amazing in responding to my inquiries, never have any issues and always willing to go above and beyond when renting any of their vehicles. Even though it's a bit of a distance from my residence and moving locations would be more convenient, I prefer to stay at this location and don't see myself going anywhere any time soon! Thank you to the U-haul team for making our experience a positive one for many years!
As nice as the staff can be, the customer service is horrible. I arrived at 630pm in order to pay my monthly rent for a unit, there was one other person ahead of me and one person being helped. A third person came in to purchase some rope, walked right up to the desk and said "I just wanna pay for this" the gentlemen behind the counter, obliged him as the other customer and myself were made to wait. I spent 25 minutes in there just to pay a god damn bill. I will be moving storage facilities and giving my business to a different company.
Get a call 24 hrs before our pickup and move to 2 provinces away saying we can’t get a truck! They say the best they can do is have us drive 6 hrs to another province to pick one up! No discount no offers no nothing. Drive 6 hours pickup and pay full price plus gas! The reservation was made over 6 weeks ago!! Uhaul is a joke! No customer service at all!! No realistic solutions to help! When asked about how reservations even work and pickups the 2 different people I talked to had no idea and kept transferring me!!
I got my hitch installed here. I booked and paid online. They called me a week before just to let me know that they had everything in stock and I was good to go for my appointment. Fantastic customer service at this U-Haul. I would recommend the Inkster U-Haul over all the other ones in Winnipeg. I think my appointment was for 11:00 a.m. by about 12:30 they were phoning me telling me that my car was ready to go. Good job guys and thank you very much.
I try to rent a uhaul from another location I did not like the customer service .i came to this location received Excellent customer service by mr.Jonathan very fast got my keys and my contract right away he explained everything to me he even took the time to run outside to inspect the vehicle with me I truly appreciate his help. You will receive the best Customer service if you go to this location I Would recommend it to anyone.
Very rude behaviour by the manager Chand. He was speaking in very aggressive way. The vehicle we wanted to take on rent was unavailable and the vehicle he was telling us to take was not fit for our requirements. So told us why you come in store, don’t come to store but first find availability on site than come to us !!! It was very unfair, forced to customer to buy service which is not required, and than insulting customers.
Horrible Customer Experience Cancelled my booking without giving any reason and when asked Lady at counter started raising her voice and told us our booking cancelled because we never showed on time after showing email confirmation and that we are on time and we need our truck. She told us to leave the premises without explaining why our confirmation was cancelled at first place. Never going back
If I could give 0 stars I would. The women I spoke with in the phone and in person had terrible customer service and was very argumentative. They completely over charged me and kept my deposit. The general manager was a big help and had helped resolving this issue. Overall the people in the office are rude, and have 0 people communicating skills and should not be working with the public.
Richard is awesome!! Fixed a bucking problem with the trailer that we got from a neighborhood dealer. Hitch height was too low and he found the elec. hook up the other dealer put on was split. Highly recommend this dealer and not letting central reservations directing you to a neighborhood dealer. Expereiience counts. Thanks again Richard.
If you happen to meet Amandeep Sandhu in this store. Be careful! She won't help you and make all the excuses she'll think of that won't even make sense. She's the master of Worst Customer Employee of all season! She's the WORST! And on the top of that! She is PROUD of her actions. Her manager can prove that! Ask her!
My mom rented a cargo van for moving. We went to pick it up after hours and there was no key in the lockbox that was given to us. Took us an hour and a half of sitting in the parking lot trying to get through to someone in the call Center who could help us. How hard is it to make sure the keys are in the correct lockbox.
Rented a trailer to transport a motorcycle. They had what I needed, and at a very good price. They also loaned me a 2” ball hitch and an adapter to convert my 7 pin to accommodate the trailer’s 4 pin. They have everything you need from boxes, tape, locks, dolly’s, etc. an overall positive experience. Would recommend.
Fraud. Rented a 10' truck took the truck and returned it in same condition. But got chargethe truck and returned it in same condition. But got charged for damage that was not done by me. And i am sure there waw no damage or maybe the damage was done by employee and they put the blame on me and applied for claim.
Worst service we got today. Did not give proper information and even though charging more for miles. Wasted our time for an hour and still did not help at all. We were suppose to get uhaul next week but cancelled booking as they were not good with their service. So unprofessional:(
If you are reading this...Please consider other reviews before renting. What a joke ... Manager's card says I can help ... But this guy was being a complete @ssh0l* on call ... Even hungup call when he knew he was the one wrong. Never recommending to rent from here …
Extremely upset over the treatment from uhaul. I was told one thing by an employee and now they will not honor what the employee told me when I first came in. They have no problems taking your money and tell you one thing, yet will not honor what they initially told.
2019 large improvements in quality of service. New facility well staffed and organized. 2017 Confused unfriendly uninformed staff. I use it for unit rentals and hitch installs. The installers are professional the desk staff are inattentive.
The staff are repetitive to feedback and provide great customer service, in my experience. They take the time to sort out any issues and that is why I will continue to recommend this location and go back for when I need to use them :)
This location seemed to not have enough moving vehicles, I had to go to the King Edward location. Lucky for me they had the vehicle I needed. Unfortunately the location meant I had to spend more money than needed on kilometers.

I was helped by the manager with the rental and usage of the vehicle transporter. He was excellent and made what could have been a frightening experience into one that we handled easily. Great service.
Long line up this morning and one lady working and was putting on a hitch yet and all I wanted was 3 boxes and not tech savvy so couldn't do a scan on my phone so just ended up leaving.
Great Manager, outstanding access with indoor over head doors, heated, alarmed and clean. Really impressed with this location and more should look like this and act like this.

I was returning a truck and the sign says "Saturday closed at 7pm" they closed at 6:50pm just as I was walking up to return the keys and get my deposit back
