I really avoid coming to this grocery store for many reasons even though it's conveniently located on my way to other places. They have a huge parking lot that is very unkept and has poor lighting. You can find people hanging out late at night drinking and playing music. They also have a poor layout that makes shopping hard because of the small aisles. Lastly, their staff is incredibly unfriendly- on my last visit, 3 of their staff including the security guard stood right by the door and although they made eye contact with everyone coming in, none of them greeted anyone. I also noticed they have installed a cashier-less checkout area and when I was ready to check out one of the staff came close to me but never addressed me and simply stood close by which was a bit creepy. I've been to other Vallarta's that provide amazing produce and variety of Mexican grocery options, this is not one of those stores which is such a disappointment considering the amazing community that surrounds them.
They get two stars because the breakfast burrito was nasty. The tortilla was soggy, and it was falling apart. It was a complete mess, and the worst part is that it was $8.00, not worth it at all. The bolillos, sweet bread, and donuts are very good, but the cakes are old. The fruit on the cake looked old and dry, and it seems that they've been sitting there for days, I personally wouldn't buy a cake here. The rotisserie chicken is bomb, and I do recommend it. The fruits, vegetables, and meat are always fresh, and the ceviche here is the best, in my opinion. The store is small but very clean. The staff is nice, friendly, and helpful. There is plenty of parking space available, but due to the coronavirus plandemic, people have to make a line and wait outside due to store restrictions to avoid overcrowding
Not all grocery markets can be as elaborate as, let's say Ralph's....with the understanding of the difference between a Ralph's and a Vallarta everything just feels like they didn't have enough room to put everything where the store floor planner wanted to....Now, Yes space they are short of, but when it comes to all your favorite latina style comforts and groceries..this is where they make up for the shortage of space..great selection, excellent customer service, plenty of parking and by the way Vallarta supermarkets Parking extends itself past the alley way keep that in mind so you won't find yourself struggling to park you're car.. it's okay to walk a bit "People", it's not gonna kill you, we live in Cali, extra walking will keep us in better shape, So!, I give Vallarta a two thumbs up overall...
Well I had a VERY BAD EXPERIENCE...I have a bad knee, so my husband brought me the handicap shopping cart. I went inside and purchased food from the food already made. Also tortillas. I went to the restroom and then got my order. As I was leaving I backed up and was looking at the mexican blankets and left. As I was crossing to parking lot the store manager and lost prevention attacked me yelling at to see my receipt assuming that I took stuff. As he notice that I had purchased and had the receipt they felt STUPID and now claiming that the handicap shopping couldn't leave the store. Oh another thing as my husband was bringing me the shopping cart their was a Vallartas employee in the front on phone n he didn't say anything or stopped my husband. That we couldn't take out the shopping cart outside.
I love the fact that it's a market that serves the Latino community. What I see is they lack in customer skill they have no clue how to acknowledge there customers. They have the worst customer service skills ... Tip #1 Customers are always right , not the employees from Vallarta! 2nd tip invest some money to send your employees to seminars to touch up on they're skills their facial expressions and their body language. Means a million things " Keep in mind if there where no customers coming into your store there would be no store. I give Ralph's, Albertsons and Vons !! so much credit for what they do to keep every customer happy :) sorry to have to say this but , overall they top Vallarta in customer service ! There cleanliness and not to mention there employees grooming is a plus ...
I have been to many Vallarta supermarkets before and never did they raise concern until I lived near store 25 (Whittier/Lorena). All stores are usually clean and their produce looks fresh. It has happened in two ocassions that we buy fish/meats that go bad the next day. Just as you walk into the store it is clearly different from all the other stores. It is dirty, poorly managed and it carries old products that are sitting on shelves for who knows how long. I myself, stopped shopping here from my last bad experience, but my parents continue to shop there because it is our neighborhood's grocery store. Vallarta's corporate office really needs to look into this store and realize how this store is harming their image.
Horrible customer service at this grocery store. The cashier's will not respect social distancing when approaching customers. I witnessed this first hand. I felt bad for the young lady that I witness today get literally pushed by a cashier as she approached the store. The cashier left her cash register just to push that young lady. Yes, sometimes people forget their masks but don't assult people. The young lady had her mask. All that was needed was her being reminded not scolded. As a person who deals with customers we need to remember sometimes people forget. Vallarta will no longer an establisment that I will shop at.
I went for second time to the market and where the bread case are when I open it I got surprised to see a lot flying insects in all the bread . I let know to an employee and his response was , I know about this it always happens.all the time the moscas are there… DISGUSTING,I TOUGH IMAGINE THE MEAT DPTO . VERY BAD PLACE TO DO SHOPPING,HEALTH DEPARTMENT SHOULD KNOW THIS INSTEAD BUT IM BRINGING FIRST TO THE STORE TO FIX IT ,ITS WHY IM WRITING THIS REVIEW. THANK YOU.
I highly recommend this supermarket. They have a wide selection of many products from Mexico. The produce is fresh, the bread is delicious they have all types of cheese there, a meat market they can cook food they have a pastry section with so much more. And one of the reasons that I am am writing this review is because they actually carry 1 of my favorite types of plant called PAPALOS. SO GOOD !!!
Want to get some lunch with my wife and my son the staff members we're really rude I know it is New Year's and they maybe wanted to be home but please don't take it out on the customers the cashier gave me the wrong change supposed to be back $17 she give me back $12 but I corrected her and she did give me the other $5 dirty not good service first time I went there and it will be the last
I love going to Vallarta! It is always so clean and the employees are always helpful. Their vegetables and fruit are always so organized and fresh. I love everything about this place. BUT, I hate those new self check out machines they got. They need to stay at Walmart and Target where they belong. They are so frustrating to use. Get them out of there! I am not happy with them.
I went to Vallarta supermarkets to buy a cake, my experience was very disgusting, when I went to the bakery section to get some some bread, I opened the bread display door, I saw two big flies standing in the conchas, my wife told to a worker about it, but she didn't do nothing, she just kept staring us until we left. I don't think I going to come back to buy something there.
Just moved to BL been about a whole year I would come to this market often and their quality has just dumbed down significantly and they let this man keep brining in his small dogs into the market everytime I've gone which is disgusting they are not service dogs. I have my own service dog and they are not supposed to be barking, lunging, or pulling their leashes.
I like the vallarta store located in East LA friendly employees with a smile willing to help.and not following me like I'm about to steal or commit a crime. Can say that about the store vallarta located on Vermont and vernon actually waiting for a Chicano to come in and catch him shoplifting. To sad our own people. What about Brown Lives Matter .
I would like to thank the supermarket very much for the way they handled my order when I visited the supermarket. I had a fabulous stay and loved going around to buy all the things I needed. To have my groceries there on arrival and placed in their rightful homes was a treat in itself after an exhausting but uneventful journey. Great touch!
This capirotada was nasty. It only included the moist bread, few raisins and shredded coconut. I want my money back! It was missing a lot of maybe some of these ingredients such as: plantain bananas, cotija cheese, prunes, Japanese peanuts or walnuts, chopped apples! It wasn’t worth wasting my money for that!!! Don’t buy it!
My father just fell down at the handicap ♿ parking lot I screamed for help no security guard around. A couple of men came to help those closets didn't even care to offer to help but they sure wanted to be nosey. Aside from that it is a clean well stocked market but should offer care and safety for the elderly.
We will definitely come back! The things that I need were all intact in this shop. I am very grateful that I came to this awesome place because everything inside was good and perfect. No overpricing and any other issues compared to other grocery shops. Bravo to all of you! Strongly recommended! Tremendous!
Store is good because of current life rules, I experience a customer about to pay refuse to wear face mask properly & customer didn't. It's hard but I hope security steps up stronger to enforce this... but I understand it becomes caos we just don't know who we are dealing with. Let's obey rules
Not only was it close to our house, I love this shop, but it also has great food and food to sell. Here, I have all my conditions. This is the best place where, plus all kinds of customer service staff, I can purchase a product at a reasonable rate. Five-star if that is what I would rate!
The shop is tidy and the workers are healthy. This is a spot that's far better than my home. I'm definitely going back to a different shop here! For my requirements and preferences, I shopped at this store. This incredible and elegant marketplace had everything I needed.
I do purchase goods here that was good for the whole week. Every Saturday, I visited this supermarket. As I had observed, the items in their dry section were properly displayed, and their wet section was very neat and odorless. The reason I always want to shop here.
I love Vallarta markets but this location always puts alot of salt on their food. Salty dried up food. Caldo de rez is gross. They need to change cooks. They should not put any salt on the food to keep everyone healthy.. high blood pressure is a silent killer.
Very over priced compared to other grocery stores. Cashiers lack customer service and for the third time, I've been over charged when purchasing meat. I'm going to file a a complaint with the BBB. If you decide to shop here pay attention when being charged.
The best thing about the supermarket is that buying anything you want is fast and convenient. I even buy my frozen food from their shop, and it tastes amazing! Some products are sold inexpensively! The location is big and clean! Such a wonderful place!
They need to hire teens as part timers to both ease the lines & teach them about work. But after 5pm when the adults get off work the lines become annoying they clearly have the volume of shoppers but they fail at getting them in and out. …
If you’re lazy to season your meats they have a full section with prepped meats for all your taco needs. They also have more individualistic Hispanic items I didn’t know you could even get to the US as I’ve only seen them internationally. A gem!
Thanks VALLARTA SUPERMARKETS for providing us a great selection of fresh fruits, vegetables, meat, fish, poultry ..and the list goes on...at very affordable prices.......especially LATINO ingredients which we can use to prepare delicious meals.
Living in LA and surround by all this culture I have never seen a supermarket that has been so empowered by men only! As a women I would not support this company who only focuses on bettering their own family name and men who are useless
Bought tamales from here this morning. Corn, chicken with cheese, and pork. They were terrible, all Masa no meat no cheese Masa very dry and the pot said Res (beef) but when I got home the wrapping said pork. Worst tamales I've ever had.
This is more of a mini Vallarta in terms of size, and the selection also matches that. There were enough workers on the registers to make for a fast checkout. It was nice but I won’t go back if I’m looking for a wider variety.
Deli service was great. Lots of options to choose from for lunch.

All the food they sell fresh make like a restaurant like better an so inexpensive incredible taste delicious You don't even have to tip nobody You have to try to believe it it tastes delicious fresh-made food everyday.
I was so surprised when I went to this store because they were selling a range of items and all I wanted was available at their supermarket! They still have very welcoming and kind workers, which is very impressive!
Vallarta is very great place to buy you food product and also have gift cards. Vallarta store is very organized and clean aslo the employees that work there are very nice and helpful they're very good discounts to.
Long wait always, service is horrible. Management sucks, girl with attitide and sarcastic attitude and big ghetto tattoo on neck is supposed to be upper management with poor customer service skills and attitude
What a waste of money. I had to trow this tamales in the trash. The masa was very salty and I couldn’t feed this to my family. What you guys can do is taste your food products to check that they are not salty.
Delicious desserts i can drown on them , fresh bakery what more do you want trully love their desserts qnd tgeit chillea rellenos are so taste. And don't get me started with their Chilaquiles are amazing
This supermarket is bomb has the best bread for sandwich and el corto argentino meat which is mmmm yummy and is very cheap i do recommend this place i perfer there to shop then food 4 less which sucks
I was glad by their security and pleasant attendants. They welcome their customers so much and had all the products and items we need. I will always visit this supermarket for my groceries next time.
The beef tamales if it is a waste of money I spent $ 6 on two tamales but it is how you are eating ground cardboard with no flavor it is a thing to spend money for pleasure
They just let people bring their gross dogs inside. These were barking and definitely not service dogs. The parking lot is pure chaos. Great ceviche and pan dulce though…
Worst place that I have ever seen the cashier are extremely rude and they give you dirty look the tall lady with glasses where you pay by yourself she is very rude person
The bakery! The cross eyed guy who works at the bakery needs to be provided with costumer service training . He can not answer Simple yes or no questions . He answers
Great meat...good produce. The checkers are always kind & professional. Put it a auto matic self check out. Got me upset. I never use it. Keep jobs for people please
Great prices. Always went to Vallarta in San Diego this is a smaller store but great selection and prices. The tamales are so good definately eat at the shop inside.
Produce is almost expired. Pan dulce is stale. Bad customer service. Stay away. Their manager is also mask n4z1. Huge mask n4z1, all I wanted was milk for my son.
you would had 5 stars but some foo gave me a damn bone with my carnitas. im not paying by the pound for a bone, gimme my carnitas! i forgot about this till now.
First time in Vallarta supermarkets and I will say it's a Gem. You can find all your needs from eggs to any cuts of steak at a great price. Highly recommended.
I happily bought my husband a pocket watch for our 25th anniversary. The staff was so kind and helpful. I highly recommend you go the the one in Montebello.
Worst place to shop meat department is very nasty they dnt wear gloves when they help u i will never shop there ever again I rather die before I go there
Excellent customer service, there store and restrooms were clean. Plenty of people to help. Excellent choices in the meat department & fresh produce.
They has to be continued whit the same level of preparation of the ceviches always.because this weekend. The ceviche was with execive.amount of salt
I stopped by to purchase some meat from the pre packed packages I was in a hurry but to be honest their meat did not look fresh and it was expensive
A supermarket that will satisfy you with all the things you need, and they have a very entertaining crew that will help you out. Nice service, guys!
Good variety. They sell a lot of Mexican products. Most of the time they only have 2 cashiers working which causes to spend time waiting in line.
Bad! I was looking for PUERTO Vallarta. Not Vallarta's Supermarkets. GPS was wrong. I was looking to see a beach, not a grocery store..so bad☹
good prices, nice deli. Bakery and fresh tortillas on premises. Clean and nice Mexican supermarket, I always pop in when I am in East LA.
When I visit this area, I stop and pick up a take out order of pork in green Chile sauce and beans. The meat is always tender and tasty.
Always come here to get any kind of cake!!! Great prices, you do have to order at least one day before. Can ask for any kind of cake.
Super, I found everything I need it! Really good service, congratulations to the Vallarta team ! Even they opened an extra cashier !
A good place. Obviously not cheap, but there is a wide choice. Everything except the hot bar I like. I am happy to go to this place
A bit small but well stocked.. Averaged priced.. The Vallarta Queso FreshCo and Meats are the reason I drive from Ktown to East LA
Big place with almost no goods in it. The fridge for milk had past due milk only. I think the big space is being really bad used
I've shopped here, the parking is always full, the check out lines are long. The end of the line is at the end of any isle.☹️
As a frequent shopper, I like to greet Cashier and be greeted in return. My experience at check-out...not even a SMILE.
It has most of what one needs to throw a carne asada party. The one thing I haven't found here is Sabritones chips.
Nice place to shop, everyone's so polite. Prices can come down a bit on some items, but overall, pretty good. …
I used to buy my lunch But to much time to order And when is your time to pay they skip you no good service …
Good deli with freshly prepared meals. Fresh produce as well. I go for lunches or to grab something for a potluck.
The cashier Delmi S had an attitude and she did not bag my items. This cashier seems she doesn't like her job.
It was well supplied. Excellent employees. I liked it a lot but I live far from it & I can't go often …
Disgusting meat. Been cooking the beef i bought for tacos for over 30 minutes and it’s watery as hell.
Their Aguas frescas are great just their chicken wasn't that good ..expected more flavor it was bland
Great service. Employees are genuine. Hungry you can order to go or eat 8n or outdoors of the màrket.
Small store but its a local spot I've always found what I needed lines just get a bit long at times.
I like it at times I fine good low price specials specially on the food and seniors assistance. T.Y.
Cool! Better items then Northgate market. I did have horrible incident with the meat on that market
A lot of merchandise and products from all over South America and #Mexico can be found here! …
One of the best super markets .. always fresh fruits vegetables great meat and friendly employees.
In & out....hot today, picked up some delicious shrimp ceviche....crowded but the lines move fast.
Great Clean. Really friendly. There were meat choices. And vegetable choices. At a good value.
I went to buy a freshly made vegetable juice. They sell different kinds. Really delicious!!
This is a store if you want breads, meat, seafood, etc. Great low prices and good quality.
Working is Great!!! Deli is My Job and I Help Every Customer With great Service …
Cashiers are rude and they dont bag your groceries. The pandemic is over, stop being lazy
Had the albondiga soup , so good , great when your not feeling well and not too salty.
Place is clean ...never enough cashiers always same problem...managers just ignore you
Anything and everything needed to cook a delicious Mexican meal can be found here.
This a great Lil ship that helps get somenthings that are needed in a tight spot.
Place is clean and lines are faster .i like going there for quick market shopping
Always has fresh produce . Great price on fresh meat n everyone treat you nice.
I stop here to grab my groceries…. It’s a big store with everything you need….
Small store, but it's fairly well stocked. Self-check out is now available.
Turkish Airlines are usually short so I run in for a quick shop for beer.
Great for everything you need for all seasons , the food is always good.
The best market in the area. I love this store, clean and we'll stocked.
