We recently had the pleasure of partaking in the Viking Splash Tour, and we couldn't be more thrilled about the experience. The moment you step onto the amphibious vehicle, you're transported back to the Viking era, with hilarious commentary and a vibrant city tour. We feel compelled to commend our tour guide, Pat, who was not just a guide but a phenomenally entertaining host. Pat's charismatic and jovial personality interacts with all passengers but also the pedestrians along the tour. His hilarious quips and stories kept us laughing throughout the tour, making the experience truly engaging and fun-filled. He has a wonderful knack for keeping the crowd involved, turning the tour into more than just sightseeing but an interactive historical journey. Pat's depth of knowledge about the city's history and comedic timing truly elevated the tour. His funny anecdotes made history digestible and memorable for all ages, and his enthusiasm was contagious. By the end of the tour, we were all chanting like Vikings, completely absorbed in the experience. The Viking Splash Tour is undoubtedly a unique way to explore the city, but Pat's exceptional guidance and true authentic craic made it a truly memorable adventure. I would recommend this tour to anyone visiting the city, and particularly those who appreciate humour, history, and a bit of splashy fun. So, if you're looking for an entertaining and educational ride through the city, don't miss out on the Viking Splash Tour, and make sure to ask for Pat as your tour guide! You'll come away with a smile on your face and a wealth of knowledge about the city's rich history.

"Seats are not allocated. It is a first come first serve basis." This is clearly stated in the booking confirmation email. So we came early. We were the first ones there right at the stop. The boat arrived and a line had formed behind us. We were excited for our tour and the tour guide Brian was brilliant and kind. Then the "Manager" arrived. He started scanning the tickets of the people all the way in the back of the line, thus starting with the people who came the LATEST, and told them to get on the boat. We, who arrived first, were going to be scanned last and let onto the boat last. I mentioned kindly we were here first and the "Manager" gave us an attitude and told us to move and let the other people on first. I stood my ground and told him their email clearly says that they are first come first serve seats. He argued and was clearly miffed but I won't let people walk over me and my wife like that. Eventually he asked my booking name and we went on. All this while smoking on the job right in the faces of young children and other customers. Unacceptable. This man single-handedly ruined our excitement and we couldn't enjoy the tour anymore. I will not recommend this to anybody. This manager proceeded to give out and "talk down" the tour guide Brian about something. Perhaps about not "forcing" us to move away and give up our first come first serve seats. Aside from this, the backseats should be banned from usage as they are high seats and the exhaust of the boat directly flies in your face and lungs. Got very ill after from this.

A must-do experience when visiting Dublin. I loved having a high-energy and enthusiastic guide take us around the city and sharing their vast knowledge of history, language, and culture. The tour starts and ends right by Stephen’s Green so it is super central and easy to find and get to. The tour took about 90 minutes and I was highly entertained the entire time. Definitely bring some warm clothing because it can get a bit chilly on a day when there is some wind. Our guide really made this an awesome experience. He had us laughing every minute, and we loved having so many buildings pointed out to us so that we could learn about their history and architectural style. I also loved getting so much insight to words and turns of phrase that entered the Irish and English languages from the Vikings. I really cannot praise this highly enough.

Had a lot of fun roaring at pedestrians as we went by, but not a lot of viking history: more talk about U2, some notable Irish names, other tourist traps, and heckling people on the street. Worst however was feeling easily unwelcome from the moment I boarded. Once the tour guide began asking where people were from, the riffing began. I played along as usually these things are all in good fun, and I'm usually a good sport, but that stopped when even some passengers began to ask me political questions; very precarious ground given current global events. Distasteful comments were also directed at others dependent on their country of origin. Very uncomfortable. Expensive for what it was and while a memorable experience, it's marred with discomfort and racist vibes. Not sure I'd recommend it. Take this tour with a pinch of salt.

Eoghan was dressed the part and overall great craic. My son really enjoyed the tour and especially the water part. Now to address some negative points Ive seen here - The reason the water part consists of a tour of the Grand Canal Basin and not the Liffey is for safety. Not issues from the water as such but it leaves everyone in the boat open to projectiles of all types from assholes on every bridge they go under as well as the promenade. The tour of the basin is informative and shows a lot. - The tour isnt a historical tour as such so it not as detailed as it could be as its more of an experience. There were a lot of children on our tour including my son and long winded deep dives into Viking history would have been too much. I think they got the right balance of history, humour and banter. - Being stuck beside or behind a bus with the fumes is unpleasant but not the tours fault. - Would recommend.

I think that the tour is mostly for kids. As two adults we didn’t really enjoyed the tour and we were disappointed to pay 30€ each for that. Even if he arrived 10 minutes late, the guide was friendly and tried to interact with everybody on the tour. I think a tried to gave some fun facts around building in the city but it wasn’t super informative, we learned more by googling some places. It was also difficult to understand him while he was talking in a microphone and with the noise of the bus itself. We were also after all disappointed about the ecological consequences this tour can have while seeing the dark smoke coming out of the bus during the whole tour. The water/boat moment consist in doing a circle around some uninteresting buildings. I would recommend if you have children but just for the fun of it…

Entertaining and interesting to a degree, we learned more history about U2 and Riverdance than we did about any kind of vikings, would have been nice to not wear plastic helmets that have been used a million times, for the price you pay for the tour of Dublin and a few minutes in the water they could at least give you a clean new helmet to use and to take home. It wasn't the worst tour I've ever been on but it could be better, and the tour guide seemed like he might have had a hangover which is a bit unbecoming. I get that it's Dublin and people drink a lot but at least try have a backup plan for a hungover tour guide. Apart from that no issues. Great job guys. I would still recommend people try it, maybe they'll be a bit luckier than us, tour guide was very funny.

The Viking Splash Experience in Dublin offers a truly unique way to explore the city. Boarding a 100 year old (take notes they ask a lot of questions) World War II amphibious vehicle, visitors are treated to both a land and water tour, uncovering some of Dublin's most interesting sights. Tour guides, whilst ensuring all are donning Viking helmets, inject a dose of humor and historical anecdotes, ensuring an entertaining journey. The highlight for many is the thrilling transition from land to water as the vehicle dives into the Grand Canal. While the Viking roars might be a bit cheeky for some, they certainly add to the fun atmosphere. A must-do for those wanting a mix of history, sightseeing, and a splash of adventure in Dublin!

If you don't like laughing don't do it! It is a funny city trip with a lot of explanations and stories. Our guide, Paul, gave us a lot of recommendations, too. He asked everybody where they came from (he even knew about our little country, Luxembourg, so plus points for that Paul!) and interacted with us throughout the tour. We were only 3 and half days in Dublin and due to this tour we were able to see another beautiful part of Dublin. I recommend this tour. Buy your ticket in advance, it is well booked. PS: Paul, bus driver would have been too boring for you. You wouldn't have been able mock people there 1,2,3 ROOOAAAR

Really great tour. For us, our Spanish friends and our 9y/o. Informative, interactive and hilariously funny. Brian our Viking guide was really sharp on knowledge and great communicator. He had a brilliant balance and flow between being very funny with ourselves as individuals and the public around us on the trip. Equally as funny and informative for both kids and adults. We were kept safe on the streets and water by our pilot Davide ( the Italian Lionel Richie) You’re part of a show on wheels and on water. Wrap up warm in winter. Well worth the ticket price . Pure gold. Well done lads.

Top banter from Keith, was a really fun tour of the city with a great mixture of history, information/facts and certainly humour. Yes it’s quite expensive, but what isn’t in Dublin?! It’s certainly more fun than a standard bus tour that’s for sure, thankfully we were blessed with sunny weather. Would highly recommend if you want a tour of the city with a side order of fun, thanks again Keith. We later went to the national gallery of Ireland and drew a picture of our memorable experiences from our little city break…My daughter has also called her gift shop bought leprechaun Keith Cheers guys

I booked this for 9 of us on a girls weekend and we had such a good time. Our guide Ken had a wide range of knowledge on Viking history, and was a fantastic guide. With a voice of an angel, he serenaded us through the streets of Dublin. We growled at pedestrians. We cried with laughter at his jokes (sometimes because they were funny and sometimes because they were awful ) "We're not going in here as that would be a disaster" has become a catchphrase in our group now, thanks Ken! Highly recommend, we weren't disappointed.

This is one fun way to explore Dublin! Our guide Keith was full of knowledge and the way he explained every little detail about the city and the Irish history made this trip remarkable! The amphibious bus sure is marvelous and it just feels awesome to be on the same ride while on land and in water! Pro tip: Buy tickets in advance and get to the pick up spot at least 15 minutes before the departure time to secure the best seats!

You feel a little strange at first getting onto a really old vehicle and being handed a Viking helmet. But I was surprised with how good this was! The tour guide was super energetic and gave us lovely random facts about Dublin as well as some personal opinions of his own. I personally loved the banter and picking on various nationalities on board. I hope no one else took offence. Would definitely recommend!

Good fun for the kids. Funny guide with lots of short history bits here and there here and there. I did it when I was a kid over 20 years ago and brought my nephew on it now. He had a great time and loved it. Fun activity for the kids. Just be aware, be there early or else you get the last seat at the end of the vehicle where you get all the engine fumes and get soaked wet if raining.

This was a fun informative ride around Dublin. My wife and I have done similar tours in other places and they are always a blast. The guide was friendly and had a great sense of humor. Tour was about an hour and fifteen mins and went in water and on the road. It's a fun way to get a little history and see some of Dublin and wont break the bank or eat up too much time.

What a super brilliant tour. A belly full of laughs for the entire journey too. Conor our guide was very funny and I reckon he should be on the stage he did such a fantastic job. Even when we had a technical issue before entering the water we were all fully entertained for about 30 minutes waiting. Highly recommend. PS Please tell Conor Mayo for Sam...

Have lived in Ireland over 30 years and yet had never done the viking tour. I thoroughly enjoyed it and would heartily recommend it to tourists and natives alike. Wonderful history lesson, great roars (only when moving, one can never be too cowardly), great craic, a very witty guide, a must for any politician with national aspiration.

Pricey but definitely worth it. It's a view of the city from a "real viking" side. The tour guide from Kildare was brilliant, adults loved it so did the kids, roaring at everyone and 'I seen you with a blonde girl the other day,' put a smile on our face while the weather wasn't great. Great memories!

Did this in London and the Dublin experience was equally as good. Good knowledge from Chris our guide very funny and appeared to be enthusiastic about the subject of Dublin. Driver did well negotiating the tight streets and missing some dodgy drivers. A simple brush up would have made the Ducks more presentable and looking the part. But great time scaring the public with our Viking War Cries.

Good tour and novelty of going into the water along the canal. Whistle stop tour of city. Good way to start but a bit hectic. The Viking hats were fun but daughter found they fell off a lot (:-)) Good tour guide with the good line in patter and bad jokes (!). Good way to introduce yourself to the city.

Excellent day out for the family. I was last on it 16 years ago, before we went this Saturday. Eoghan really makes it a good laugh, and engages with everyone. Definitely worth the money, the kids are still talking about it days later. They loved it, and I learned a few things about Dublin myself.

The tour's a great fun, and the dive in the canal is definitely cool ! Had a terrible driver on my 3rd ride with them though (Paul). Rude and disrespectful to pedestrians, cyclists, and customers including kids. The company should pay more attention to this as it can really ruin the experience.

What a scam. The boat broke down in the middle of Oconnell St. We waited 40min for the new one to arrived. Eventually asked to a refund as we couldnt wait any longer. Highly recommended (might be a good idea to book online before your visit to Dublin, especially if you are only there for a short time)

Did the tour with my friend celebrating her 70th Birthday we had a great time. Our tour guide “ knew his stuff & was hilarious” we laughed so much. For both of us “proud Dublin girls” was a lovely perspective of Dublin Fair City especially on the Grand Canal Basin.

  • Dale Pickstock

Well worth doing regardless of whether you are a tourist or local. Bit of humor but also a lot of interesting facts about the city. Quite pricey for an hour but would recommend to give a concise history lesson for the place your wandering around. Ken was great.

  • Mark Langton

Good tour, the guide (late 50s) is a bit manic though. The humour would suit 50 something Irish or British, whereas half the people were kids. Good effort. To lay it on about tipping is a bit unfair too as the tickets are far from cheap at €25 for an adult.
