The service is fantastic when you first join, then once you are a paying member they seem to forget about you. I recommend 3 people to the gym and they received a "free sign up bag" - I had only singed up a few days before them and received nothing (not even a water bottle) Bathrooms always smelt like wee and are not properly cleaned. I complained about this issue numerously. I was locked in the bathroom at 20:50 when I was still getting dress and the lights went off as they wanted to close - trading hours are until 21:00. Equipment is not always hygienic as I once used a weight only to find that it had blood on it. There are some friendly staff, dont get me wrong, however across the board they need some work on interacting with members especially if they are trainers. One trainer always spends their time in the changing room eating, I addressed the matter to the manager and said "I like that you have security in the change rooms" - that is how often they where there. I cancelled my membership (of which I had the most expensive option) on 01 March 2016 and then get an SMS on 06 May 2016 that I am in the rears. I went into the gym, paid them CASH to cancel my membership and was charged an additional amount for paying cash. Overall - I wouldnt recommend it.
I've never been to this gym before and I joined now with my boyfriend. People have been helpful and friendly. Everyone keeps out of each other's way still for those who are a bit more self conscious like me. The boyfriend lost his wallet actually the other night not to worry though! Someone found it right away and about 30 minutes later when we found out he actually did lose his walletmmm suuuure we don't need a bag today got it at the front desk not a problem the water is sometimes not super cold but eyy here's some science for you, cold water actually has a negative impact on your workout. Drink the room temperature water and sweat trust the child. Anyway I thought that an invested membership requires an invested review so I hope they keep up to the standards that I am seeing now ⭐⭐⭐
The air conditioning is never working, it's hot as balls. When I asked the kid at reception to please open a window I was told they have to ask the manager and he is in a meeting talking about money and that he is also getting hot....the attitude sux! You get what you pay for, this is a no frills basic gym with minimum facilities and cheap equipment. It can be very busy with children in the afternoons. Can't wait for my contract to expire! Was back today after not using this branch for months. Again it was a disappointing experience, its filthy, looks like rhe floors havent been cleaned in ages and the equipment is covered in a layer of dust. Plenty of staff farting about.
My contract expired in July this year. I was on a 1 year Club Membership for R350. In April this year I extended my contract on a R199 plan. Every month since April, R350 was deducted. Last month R350 was deducted twice and I had to stuggle for my refund. I've e-mailed employees who promised to rectify the situation and stay in contact. I've had phone conversations with employees who promised to get back to me. None of this materialized. I requested to cancel my already expired contract, this was not even responded to. I am severely disappointed and hope that I can get my money back, cancel my contract and gym somewhere where I will be valued and respected as a customer.
My husband and I are new members, but strongly thinking of cancelling our subscriptions. Can't understand how Zone Fitness can justify closing whenever there's evening loadshedding due to "no natural light", while the rest of Cobble Walk runs as normal on back up power. So in essense, every loadshedding close down is a profit in their pocket. No equipment usage, no utlity expenses, yet everyone pays full subscription. Very sly as none of this was mentioned during the initial tour/or in the contract. Sad to say that you will lose a big chunk, including us, of your members if you don't roll up your socks and get with the times. Swak man!!
Even though I am paying for the Super Club access, I prefer gyming at Cobble Walk because it is one of the cleaner ones. I do find it ridiculous to pay for a membership when you close your doors during loadshedding. I don't understand why we can't use the equipment without the electricity, especially when it's still light out. I'm sure Cobble Walk Centre can supply power to you guys, if not, just get some lights so that we can at least use the weights and the bicycles then. Loadshedding is often the reason why people go to the gym so I would like you to be more accommodating seeing as we pay for it. Thanks!
I asked for a 12 month subscription MULTIPLE times and I was promised that it's a ONE year contract ONLY... The employee told us not to worry about reading the info, because it's just standard paperwork and we'd be paying R500pm for the next year... But now when i wanna cancel they asked for R5k for the leftover 17months... I'm so pissed that the employee didn't listen to us AT ALL and kept this info from us... Please read through the contract even if they say it's just standard paperwork... I'm really dissapointed.
I can't understand how the gym closes at 19:00 one night and the following night at 20:00 due to no natural light. Loadshedding is not going g away, so you guys will need to get lights or a generator. I only come home at 18:00 from work and then leave for the gym, how do you guys expect me to do my workout in 20 min? I pay my gym fee every month and at the moment I'm not getting the services I pay for. And a few of the staff members have a bad attitude towards customers giving suggestions.
The gym is okay, the machinery isn't the latest but does the trick. Staff are okay, not friendly like other gyms, a little cuatomer service goes a long way. There could be more people to help on the floor, not just all gathered at the front desk. Overall, if you looking for a quick workout and live close by its worth it but remember it's cheaper for a reason...machines are older, weights area is limited so almost always booked and the gym is cramped.
Doesn't have a pool. But gym equipment is quality and well maintained. The only issue that I've had is that rules on weight storage isn't enforced, the single squat rack and the lack of lifting platforms. I would replace all the bench presses and the single squat rack with power cages on a platform for the extra flexibility and to save some space. Still the most competitively priced gym, which more than makes up for the minor shortcomings.
I had no issue with the equipment thusfar. Except for the occasional machine being out of order every now and then. But no gym should be closed during loadshedding. We make use of the gym in the morning as to avoid the afternoon "crowdedness". Use the monthly payment of clients to prepare for situations like these. The air-conditioning is also poor and people have complained since we started going to this specific gym 3 years ago.
Bullied into keeping contract going during lockdown and no reprieve for loss of income due to covid related job loss. Only focused on themselves. Greed is a terrible trait, they would be well served to understand their clients life situation. Especially with Covid. Very unimpressed. My recommendation is that you should never sign a two year contract with any gym. They will debit you even when you are dead.
Gym here Monday - Thursday and occasionally on weekends. Ill never train on a sunday staff extremely unpleasant they were busy vacuuming when i was gyming and dust was flying all over. I asked the cleaner how long he was going to be he responded "not long, dont you worry" Sunday staff on 24th October 2021 at around 11am was appalling, rate them 0 for customer service.
This is probably by far the worst gym every. The staff is super arrogant and they treat there clients poorly. The equipped and floors are dirty and properly clean. The equipment is mostly broken. I wish I never signed up to this gym. Multiple other members are unhappy. The air-conditioning is almost always broken. And so many other things. Worst gym ever.
Looked at other Zone Fitness branches and could see that this one can improve. Has only one squat rack that's always occupied. The benches don't have enough bars. We need to bring our own foam blocks. Staff is not always friendly. Aircon is turned off 10-15minutes before loadshedding starts. I won't recommend people to sign up
It has a welcoming atmosphere and very clean and organised inside. The staff and patrons are friendly people. Machine are well looked after and the shower and locker room are spotless. Not overly crowded you will be busy from entrance to exit. Nice social distancing and vaccination is readily available.
Good environment to go gyming, but the music is terrible, very little space, might not be comfortable for claustrophobic people. My phone was also stolen, do not come here if you care for your items, nothing was done about my stolen items. Staff are friendly but not always inviting... …
The facilities are okay, but I'm having a hard time understanding the bizarre weekend hours. It opens at 7am and closes at 4pm on a Saturday and opens at 7am and closes at 3pm on a Sunday. In what world does a gym close that early? Quite an inconvenience for anyone who has busy weekends.
Location is important and they had a good idea to put this fitness place close to the houses. It gives Cobble Walk live at night. If you live in the area you can go home first get your gym gear and go and train. Staff is friendly and helpful that is a big one for me.
Hi everyone, I invite all members of Zone Fitness to come and participate in my Cardio Raw Insanity class. It is fun and energetic class that I provide exercises to suit each individual needs. It is a fantastic way to end your day on a high note. Thank you Juliette
Awesome Zone Staff - friendly and helpful. Personal Trainers actually care (helpful with correct technique on machinery) even if you're not their client. Club space smaller than old club, doesn't matter though as the positive atmophere makes up for that!
Good all-round gym but it is a very small gym. Does not have enough equipment for all exercises and can get crowded. Gym is always clean and staff always help. They need to expand the gym in a way to make more room available for more wheights and so on.
The gym itself is all right, nothing fancy. When you go early morning and there is load shedding, they will chase you out. On public holidays they will sometimes not open at all or open later and I don't know where to find out what the times are.
Cancelling a month to month membership at this point seems impossible. They billed me for 2 months now after cancellation, even when I told them the issue after the first month. Very helpful when signing up, dreadful when cancelling.
Nice gym with all the equipment that you would need. A no nonsense gym where you go to work out without the pool or shop.Good covid protocols in place.I recently joined and I am very happy with what it offers at a good price.
You're always greeted by the friendly reception. The equipment is always clean and well maintained. The gym membership is very cheap and the actual gym isn't so crowded so there is always some machinery open for you to use.
Worst Gym ever to be at!!! The staff is incredibly biased when handling situations and threatened to terminate me and my girlfriend's contract, most of us will be leaving Zone fitness for good after this month!!!
This branch needs to Jack up! Equipment not working, never anyone to assist but always standing around chatting at the desk. Never management around always busy. A little bit of assistance can go along way guys
Always an excuse to close earlier than necessary, this time they closes at 7 when there was still ambient light. They are too cheap to get backup lights. Will be canceling my contract and go elsewhere instead.
Clean. Friendly staff. Very good for the price. Often have specials when signing up. Can get slightly cramped (pre-covid), especially with limited stretching and free-standing workout space.
Cosy gym upstairs in the mall, staff are friendly and helpful, lots of group excercise class to choose from! Zumba fitness classes every Thursday evening at 6pm and Saturday morning @8.30am
Great gym. Friendly staff and all the equipment you might want or need. They have classes you can attend to do different fitness exercises in the afternoon. I am unsure about mornings.
Uneventful, dissapointing when you think supporting each other in this crazy world right now is the thing to do don't ask Zone fitness for that support, it's all for themselves.......
I am a member of this club, gym here everyday, I meet Robin the duty manager tried to charge my phone and was not allow. Got asked lots of questions as I dont know the rules.
Don’t DARE! leave your gym card at home more than 4 times in the space of 4 year membership - you will be told on 4th time is the last last time with attitude from staff!
Clean, friendly staff, super vibe, love the atmosphere. Cobble Walk is the best of all the Zonefitness gyms I've attended. Keep going guys, keep it up and thank you.
You guys need to be more serious... Like really you still dismissing pple because of loadshedding in the evening... Get a generator guys... This isn't it
Service not good. Manager makes promises and doesn't deliver. Given them numerous chances to up their service but they keep on disappointing.
Awesome. Especially the Sauna feature. Friendly staff and Management is a pleasure to speak to. Well done. Clean and safe. Well done
Free weight area has limited equipment. Manager very rude. Regional manager says he can't do anything as he wasn't there. Canceled.
Members pay a full membership fee yet the airconditioning has been broken for months and management doesn’t seem bothered at all.
They cold called me trying to sell a membership. They had my number and knew my name and surname. Is that not illegal?
By far the best gym ever I would definitely recommend it more than virgin active and the staff treat you like family
Good gym. Just normal equipment, no fancy tech. Lack of wifi, or the option to even pay for it, is a bit annoying.
Very small and equipment sometimes take long to get repair. Also need to look at some other machines as well.
Never getting new machines. You with them 6 years , if you forgot the card then you not allowed in. But all
good gym, but would appreciate more olimpic bars. we need to share the same bars as the bench press stations
Has everything that you need, although when the power is out in the morning the gym doesnt open till later
A bit on the small side but good gym. Doesn't get too crowded most of the time and the staff is helpful.
Love this Gym Always Space and equipmnet working and clean 6:30am good time to gym Great service from.
Wonderful gym. Never busy and a very nice place to work out. Highly recommend you join this gym.
Quiet in the mornings, clean, well looked after facilities and enjoy the variety of equipment.
Never too busy. Friendly staff. Great equipment. Always a good workout at this Zone Fitness!!
Great view of the Durbanville Hills from the 3rd treadmill from the left Lekker gym …
Sometimes wish there was more than 1 of the bigger leg presses, but no complaints otherwise.
Great gym, not that busy and it's got everything you need to work on those gains …
Nice facilities, would just like a dedicated area for deadlifts, other than that. No issues
Nice clean gym. Have almost everything you need and is better than most of the other Zones.
This is my big come back, to get myself in shape. Brilliant facility and so neat and clean.
Why should the people of Zone Fitness still be working if the place is closed for lockdown.
I love the gym, because it is never full of people and the staff are friendly and helpful.
You guys need to get an inverter. Closing just past 18:00 for loadshedding is ridiculous.
Steam room broken for months now. Sort it out i am paying every month for this facility.
Kind, friendly staff, especially Tony, went out his way to help me with my contract
Clean gym...just avoid rush hour. Otherwise you have to wait to use the machines.
Awesome gym, great equipment. Price was better than expected!! and so convenient
Gym is a little small but Staff is very friendly and helpful, Keep it up team...
No help at all have been trying to close my contract for 3 months now...
I absolutely love this gym. The pilates class is fun and really works
Great spacious gym, thanks for keeping men's shower facilities clean
Good, clean gym, never has a peak period. Friendly and helpful staff
Great place to train. Friendly staff. Equipment in good condition.
Closed before 19h00 due to loadshedding. Canceled my membership.
Great gym, extremely helpful staff, my new stop on the way home.
Amazing neat gym that dose include a sauna in the rest room. Q
Great Zumba class on saturdays 8:30am, worth a visit for sure
Nice gym, except for lack of good airconditioning. Very hot.
Great price and all the machines and things one could need.
