Despite graduating from the Pediatric Faculty in 2011, I have always relied on the guidance and support of my Alma Mater. Recently, I reached out to deputy dean of the Faculty of Foreign Students Alexey Anatolyevich Mukonin, for assistance with the required documents for ECFMG's Medical School Web Portal (EMSWP). The response was quick and efficient handling of the necessary paperwork. I was particularly impressed by the university's use of the online portal, which eliminated the need for physical presence and extensive paperwork. This convenience not only saved me time but also demonstrated the institution's commitment to adopting modern technologies and streamlining administrative processes. I would like to express my appreciation to the current rector - Kozlov, Roman Sergeevich, for his exceptional administrative work and for fostering a strong connection and support within the university. His dedication to enhancing support for alumni and the broader medical community is truly commendable. Under his leadership, administrative processes have become more efficient, benefiting individuals seeking assistance like myself. Furthermore, I would like to acknowledge an interesting connection I have with the university through Kozlova, Lyudmila Vyacheslavovna, who is the mother of Kozlov, Roman Sergeevich and one of my former teachers. Lyudmila Vyacheslavovna Kozlova, is a highly skilled professional known for her demanding yet fair teaching methods. Moreover, she exemplifies grace and kindness in her interactions with students. In the common spaces of every section there were fire hoses and manual cum automated fire alarms which have indipendent water supply, then there are fire alarms in every room. I think asking for a sprinkler above your head is a tad bit too much. Now the rating, Where did you find its the lowest rated ? Please share the ratings. WHO has consistently rated Russian Medical schools at ratings that are much better than India. Want to know why? OK i’ll let you into the secret… Its because the infrastructure is so massive. Let me explain further, Smolensk is a city by russian standards, according to which a city is the place of seat of government and has tertiary branches of medical care, and other tertiary level insitutes for education. It is a little different from the Indian scenario. Here, in India a population of 15 lakh may be living in a place and it may still be a village or town, this is due to lack of planning and infrastructure development on our part. In Russia if the population of a place crosses a certain limit there are set guidelines for infrastructures and institutes. for eg. when the Kazan city population crossed one million a metro line was scheduled. If the population remained lower the metro would”nt be made. The same rules are followed for institutes of medicine, literature, technology, etc. So even though the population of Smolensk is around 15 Lakh (small in Indian standards), it is a full fledged city with tertiary level care in all branches of medicine, even transplants. When you talk of IITs let me tell you that they have a system of nurturing their own talent and those clever Russian kids are given a free education, there are also special institutes and cities where foreigners were till recently not even allowed, only thing is their educational institutions do not enjoy a page 3 celebrity stautus like our institutions do. From my experience , if you go to class daily, and read your books well in the evening there is nothing that will stop you from clearing the various entrance exams. Virtually all of my batch mates are practicing medicine in some branch or the other. Due to my personal experience and eventual sucess as i would like to call it, i beg to differ from your point of view.

This is the university I study in. The university has departments for many subjects. Many large auditoriums. A big library. A nice big cloak room. Two big stair cases. A building with 5 floors with various departments in various floors. Some subjects include Clinical pharmacology, history, Latin, Russian, medicinal chemistry and many others. Coming to the main aspects of the university concerning foreign students: If you're looking for admission into medical science, this is the place you'd want to come to. This place is better than Orenberg, Russia. Smolensk State Medical University is better than Orenberg State Medical University. Result wise and rank wise too. The university has strict rules for students that they are not allowed to drink alcohol or smoke cigarettes in their period of study in the place. If any student is caught doing either of these, they are straight away deported and sent to their native country. Overall if you're looking for admission into medical science, you should definitely join the university.

You will probably see much hatred and negativity regarding the university but most of these people commenting are students who have been expelled from the college due to disciplinary or academic reasons, about the college its a decent place to study medicine as an alternative to private medical colleges in india. Faculty and departments are good, you have an option to stay in Hostels or Apartment provided by the firm and talking about the language, you can’t expect local people to talk in English when you are in hospital just like you can’t expect local people to speak in English/Hindi if you are practicing in Punjab/Gujrat, you need to learn the local language, plus it makes your life easier. Ps: I’m a 5th year student

A year in and I'm super Impressed with Smolensk state medical University. Great study environment and the level level of discipline has got to be by far one of the best compared to most Universities!. The place not only teaches you amazing life skills but also to look out for each other. The term Ragging doesn't exist in SGMU!!. Seniors here are actually super friendly, helpful and supportive!!. I'm glad I chose to be a part of this University!.

I am a student of Smolensk State Medical University. It is one of the best government colleges in Russia. We strictly follow Indian syllabus. Teachers are very sincere in their wrk. We do have a constant fee structure for the whole 6 yrs.There is also MCI recognition. The rate of students passing is also very high. So if anyone interested for Mbbs in Russia i would suggest nothing but Smolensk State Medical University

By seeing all these bad comments about this university, we can conclude that this is a clear case of protest against the Smolensk state medical university by some lame jobless people. I am a student of this university. The university has got all the latest facilities and a good faculty for foreign students. People who came here to study concentrates on studies others do stuffs like posting bad comments.

I completed my graduation in 2019 from Smolensk State Medical University. There is good environment for the study. The teachers of the University teaches according to our syllabus and giving proper attention to every student. I just want to say Thank You for all the teachers and staff of our University especially Dean sir, Vice Dean sir & Dr. Alok Sir who helped us alot to achieve our dream profession.

Overall excellent University as compared with other universities of that grade and fee structure. Here professor are also well experienced and are of high knowledge. Rules regarding attendance is very strict specially in case of foreign students. FMGE(MCI) pass percentage is high. Indian mess is also available in the University and here admission is taken through COSMOS EDUCATION CONSULTANT

Для студентов очень удобно, столовая рядом (кормят отлично, вкусно)главное успеть пообедать. Много булочных, для студентов очень удобно. Аптеки в каждом доме находятся.На первый взгляд можно сказать - город студентов...

Worst university I have ever seen.After 1st year They change medium from English to Russian. And threatening students to change consultant. Or go back to india.University is already managed By some counsaltantcy.They are hungry of money. No matters of students futures.They are playing with Indian students.Please don't come here.To spoil ur futures.

My own brother studies in this university....even my friends had their degress from this college...there is no racisim...there is very protective atmosphere for indians...n teaching is very nyc...even my brother goes for hospitals in summer to complete the tasks given by university...teaching is best....

Hello,It is one of the best medical university in Russia. With great facilities and education and friendly surrounding. If you are preparing for MCI in early stages like in 1st and 2nd year, Smolensk state medical university is most recommended by Indian students. As it has highest passing ratio in MCI.

The only university in russia on which u can trust blindly that u will be a good doctor.As student of sgmu i am happy of my decision. Rules and dicipline is too much strict that is the base of good education. Suggest good students to take admission in this university for their bright carrier.

I'm a student of ssmu, it is a very good medical university in Russia. We have strict teachers and good environment to study. Also they ensure safety for girls. Anyone can graduated from there without bunking classes and through hardwork.

Either agents of other universities or rusticated undisciplined students have written the bad reviews of this university. It is one of the best medical University.Best MCI results.Safest and strict place for Indian students.

Im a 5th year student and the experience so far has been good, students are taught according to Indian syllabus and our college has the most MCI turnouts as compared to any other college.

I was student of this university, So my suggestion will be don't take admission I'm this university. For Russian student it might great. But for Indian student it's big NO.
