Gulistan is a very busy street of Dhaka city in Bangladesh. It means 'Flower Garden' in Persian, which lead to the speculation that in medieval times there might be prominent flower gardens.[citation needed] Several important streets are connected to Gulistan which makes it busy and crowded. The street is full of roadside shops. Thousands of people visit this place for their daily needs. The road is always occupied with traffic and passersby. One of the oldest transports of Dhaka City ‘Tom Tom’ can be seen in this street. There is a shrine right at the middle of the road. It is called “Golap Shah’s Shrine”. ঢাকা শহরের ভেতর একসময়কার সবচেয়ে বড় টাওটারি যায়গা ছিলো এই গুলিস্তান। পকেটমার আর ছিন্তাই কারির সবচেয়ে নিরাপদ স্থান ছিলো। তবে এখনকার চিত্র ঠিক তার উল্টো। নিন্মবিত্তদের জন্যে এখানে কম টাকায় অনেক ভালো শপিং করা যায়,যদিও ঠিকঠাক মত দেখে না নিলে ঠকার সম্ভাবনা টাই বেশি থাকে। যেমন একটি পেন্ট তারা দাম বলবে ১৪০০-১৮০০ টাকা, আপনি যদি বুঝে দাম করতে পারেন তবে তার মুল্য বলবেন ২০০-৩০০ টাকা পর্যন্ত। আবার পাইকারির জন্য এই গুলিস্তান সেরা,এখান থেলেই কিন্তু বেশির ভাগ ইলেকট্রিক,ইলেকট্রনিক, মোবাইল এর যাবতীয় সব মালামাল পুরো বাংলাদেশে সাপ্লাই হয়।
