It's a good location train station that could well be seen from the main road it's located on the side of the four intersections that cuts it so it wouldn't be very big problem to find the station....the only problem is the display of English language which is totally nill in the station.... everything even the posters and hoardings of the train timetables are in Burmese language....so forget about experimenting with their language by using Google lens to translate it in English and so on....directly go to any counter windows u have to bend a little to see their faces to start an investigation about places and trains....one thing what I did I will share with my Google fraternity is to take the help of sticky notes better if it's paper notes rather than notes in your smartphone....write the desired destination you want to travel with the date of travelling and the quantity of tickets you want.... then give the paper to the person you are conversing with he will definitely help you by reading your note and when he hands over the ticket politely give him the amount and you are done with.....the upper part of the station building is decorated like Pagoda structure and the name displayed there of the station i.e. Mandalay station is too small to be eye catchy but definitely sparkling with lights so you will get a glance of it.....but it's two adjacent buildings are hotels rather than stations so be very careful ...and there is a bridgeway connecting left and right to the station counters directly....so it's better if you take those bridges

Basic facilities. Ticket counters open at 6am and close at 4pm and there’s virtually no English information about timetables, train schedules, routes and prices. Anyway don’t worry! It’s Myanmar and people will find their way to help you out. Some staff speaks English as well. We got our tickets today Mandalay-Hsipaw for tonight at 4am, will arrive at Hsipaw at 3pm. In this route there are 2 classes available: ordinary class 2000MKK with wood seats; upper class 4000MKK with couch like seats. Anyway depending on holidays and festivals it might sell out.

After the improvement of the railway system in Myanmar a few years ago, travelers could be able to travel by train cheaper and easier. The location of the train station in Mandalay is the best I have ever seen due to a short walk from my hostel. For anyone who loves travel by train, it would be great to see the old buildings and to mix and ride with the locals. In Mandalay Railway Station you can experience them all.

A typical train central train station choc-a-bloc passengers on the platform, some camping with makeshift mats and household items probably waiting for trains which might take a little longer to arrive. Conveniently located above the station is Hotel Marvel, which is ideal for travelers who wish to put up at a lodge that is conveniently located, and accessible to most amenities required.

数年前に行った際には、2階に軽く喫茶店があり、薄暗い、独特の雰囲気を醸し出していました。 外国人は外国人席を購入する必要があるので、事前にチケットを購入しておくといいかと思います。 ちなみに、タイ国鉄が5分前後の差で発着したいた当時、夜9時の便が明朝3時発になりました。また、線路が物凄く、おそらくは経年劣化と朝晩の寒暖差により、怖いくらい電車が揺れます。 席も、外国人席はそれなりの価格ですが、なぜか席が刃物で切り裂かれていたりしますし、ガタガタだし(余計揺れて感じる)、とにかく夜はめちゃくちゃ冷えるので、電車は面白い経験で後悔はしていませんが、まあ次は絶対夜行バスにします。 ミャンマーの夜行バスは、こちらはうってかわって綺麗で、タイのものよりいいなとさえ思います。 揺れが尋常じゃなく、乗っている際には事故るかも…と思いましたが、かなり大切な思い出です。

It's a functional train station. I can only comment on arriving around 9am: quite crowded, many taxi drivers soliciting as expected. Just followed the crowd, head to the upper level where the taxis are, then start making your down on the sidewalks (unless you want to hire a taxi). Very close to the Palace (due north), so you won't get lost.

Place is a bit decrepit, but I managed to reserve my ticket to Hsipaw there. You can reserve tickets for other people too, as long as you have their passport number. They might say you need the physical passport and that you have to come back at 3am, but just keep insisting and they will relent.

1층은 역의 대합실, 2층은 매표소와 각 플랫홈으로 내려가는 계단이 만들어져 있다. 만달레이를 여행한 후, 양곤으로 가기위해 기차를 이용하였다. 3일전 부터 예매가 가능하고, 2층의 매표소 좌측에 어퍼글래스 기차료를 예매한다. 오후 5시경 기차를 타면 다음날 10시경 양곤중앙역에 도착한다. 침대칸은 없으며, 1.2열 어퍼글래스칸은 좌석이 넓은 편이며, 식당칸이 딸려 있고, 저녁과 아침 시간에 식당칸 직원이 주문을 받아 배달해 준다. 그 외 음료수와 물도 배달해 준다.

Terminal station in Mandalay. But there are not much a reasonable hotel and restaurant in around there. Also When you arrive at late night , you may be worried here is in dimly place. If you are alone , you had better to avoid late arrivals. Jul_2017

Good central location. Better to take train out of mandalay. MTT office on ground floor at eastern (main) entrance. Good cafe on third floor to pass time. Possible to rent a mat and sleep on the floor at your train platform if you have a late train.

Well organised train station but doesn't open before 3a.m and lacks some directions and information in English for foreigners. Worry not however, the locals are very helpful and try their best to answer your questions with a smile! :)

Mandalay railway station should not be partially allocated with Marvel hotel.It should be separated only and we all would like to labelled it as a train station and not a creepy hotel.Weirdest station in Burma.

∆Best Central Station. ∆Parking area is very big. ∆Fully neat and clean area. ∆Staffs are good. ∆But the hotel of the area are not give good services as they charge money.

Personale della stazione parla poco inglese, ma con gentilezza e cordialità cerca di aiutare in ogni modo. Treno per Bagan costo bassissimo. Esperienza da fare!
