This place is a cool grandpa's[1] unassuming little cafe next to a happy little playground. The entire cafe is worked by just one dude, but he creates such a cozy and enjoyable atmosphere for everyone, that you don't really want to leave even after you're full. The menu isn't particularly extravagant, but the few dishes that he does create are made fresh with much love, and taste very very good. A neat quirk about this cafe is that there is a rotating exhibition that showcases small artists' works, and you might be able to purchase prints or other products that directly support the artists. 10/10 experience [1] Idk if he's actually a grandpa but he has that vibe going

A little gem of a place! Personal and special, with a kind owner. Vegetarian warm egg sandwich was a great snack, and the black coffee was the best I’ve had for months. Beans were ground by hand after ordering and the coffee prepared with utmost care, really smooth and delicious. Very memorable Kyoto café experience.

A cute little cafe that even my google maps had trouble locating. I took a chance and went to the next street and found this place hidden next a park. I was not even sure the place was open and asked the guy playing soccer with the kids in the park, who happened to be the owner! Tried warabi-Mochi and Japanese tea and it was good. The owner was easy to converse with as well. He seems like a one man show and makes everything fresh in front of you.

A wonderful little cafe tucked away with a welcoming vibe. The food and drinks were delicious and the man running the cafe was lovely and friendly. Everything was very kawaii and we felt very looked after - we had the egg sandwich and the mochi and the prices were super reasonable too. Would definitely recommend!

While we were eating outside this place in a park, a man came walking to us. We thought we weren't supposed to sit and eat in the park but to our surprise he invited us to eat inside and told us we wouldn't have to order anything! Eventually he gave us green tea for free and another couple that was visiting bought a small cheese cookie which was delicious! Will soon come here again as the atmosphere is really nice and cosy, I recommend coming here.

Finding this gem is part of the game ! :-) Off the beaten path, timeslip into a world from 40 years ago :-) Nice, hidden coffee spot on the backside of a park. Kids come here for the home made juice. Adults come for the coffee, sandwich or sweets . Strike up a conversation with the cafe owner if you are bored or need inspiration !

This is the cutest cafe in all of Kyoto! Find it behind the swingset in the park. The owner is super friendly and nice. The food is amazing, we love to get quiche on Sundays. Such a cute place with adorable decorations, books, and toys for kids. I love this place and recommend it to everyone!

친절한듯 친절하지 않았던 곳 일본 여행 중 후기가 좋아 방문했었습니다. 맛은 특별하지 않고 가볍게 먹기 좋은 평범한 카레 맛. 친절한듯 하였지만 다 먹고 잠시 물을 마시고 있는데 자리로 오더니 그릇을 가져가시더라고요. 아직 자리에서 일어나지도 않았고 진짜 방금 숟가락 내려 놓자마자 자리로 와서 그릇을 치우는건 매너가 없다 생각 들었습니다. 심지어 매장에 저희만 있었어서.. 기분이 나빴었네요..^^;;

Highly recommend this spot. The sandwich was everything. Everything is made especially for each customer. You can hear the coffee beans grind in the back as you wait, the service was the best and the experience overall was worth every second of my time. When I fly back to Japan I’m going to return here for sure.

The most magical little cafe. We stumbled upon it by accident after walking down the street and then my sons wanting play in the park. Then we were drawn to the cafe tucked in the corner. The owner is so kind and incredible. The food was simple and delicious. You won’t find a place this unique in all of Kyoto.

先日子どもと行きました。子どもがカウンターに置いてあるおもちゃを見ていると、「席に持って行っていいよ」と優しく声をかけて下さったり、席に置いてある絵本を見ていると他の絵本も持ってきて下さったり‥！お料理はニコちゃんが可愛いホットサンドとアイスミルクカフェオレ(^^) 一つ一つがとても丁寧で思わず写真を撮りました。空間とお料理に癒されて、私ももっと丁寧にお料理しようと思いました(^.^)今度は、いい匂いがしていたカレーを旦那さんも連れて行きたいと思います♪

We randomly arrived at the adjacent park to let our son run around a little. The cafe was a very pleasant surprise. The owner is very friendly and welcoming. Food is good and prices are low. We kept returning here as long as we stayed in Kyoto.

Excellent spot for lunch. The food is simple and delicious. The owner is very kind and decorates his shop beautifully. There is art for sale on the inside as well. This is definitely worth stopping by. If I’m back in Kyoto I will be back here.
