Great great dentist. If you are traveling Tokyo and have a dental emergency, this is the place to go! Dr. Oikawa was trained in the U.S. and even worked there for a while. His English is perfect. I had a piece of my tooth break while traveling, fortunately I was not in pain. The next day I went to Trust Dental and Dr. Oikawa saw me in 30 minutes. Amazing! I was afraid I was going to need a crown, but Dr. Oikawa said we could just do an inlay to preserve as much as the existing tooth as possible. Music to my ears! A dentist like this is awesome. He cleaned out my tooth and gave me a temporary while the inlay got made. 1 week later and I am all fixed. Truly amazing speed and help for someone in trouble. Further, Dr. Oikawa publishes all the fees for his services right on his website (they are really great compared to the U.S.). Why don't American dentists do this? Fillings and xrays mostly cost the same for everyone. If you want to try claim his work on your insurance back home, his staff will give you paperwork to take with you. Such a great dentist, I will consider flying to Tokyo to get work done if needed in the future.

I went to several non-English speaking and English speaking dentists in Tokyo before, and then a friend recommended me to visit Trust Dental in Harajuku. Never looked back again. I'm perfectly fine with speaking Japanese but the dentists I have visited before in Tokyo(which had many positive patient reviews in the internet) didn't impress me, felt rushed, and/or wanted to rip me off, with unnecessary expensive ceramic inlays and other services. I am very glad that I went there for a second opinion. Also, their teeth cleaning procedure is just as good as the one I received regularly in Germany in the past. They take an hour for it, which is way better than the other teeth cleanings I had in Tokyo, which lasted between 20-30 minutes, without stain removal(AirFlow) and were very expensive. Office is clean and the staff is very friendly, fluent in English(which isn't important for me) and supportive. I really think that I can trust them. Highly recommended!

I never review anything but This dental clinic inspired me to write a review.... In short, really great place. I had a terrible terrible sleepless night from pretty horrific pain in the lower right side of my mouth and needed to see a dentist ASAP... Without a reservation, walked to Trust Dental clinic nearly in tears, the receptionist told me they were fully booked but saw I was doing pretty poorly and so asked Dr. Oikawa if he could fit in time to see me and he said could. He was able to find the problem relieve the pain shortly after, remove the dying nerve and schedule the full root canal a week later. I feel like he saved my life. Dr. Oikawa is a super friendly and caring Dentist, and could fool you that he was born in the US with his English. Furthermore, his secretary is completely fluent in English and fun to be around. 10/10 will return.

I've had multiple procedures done here over the last months including wisdom teeth extraction, cleaning and cavities. I highly recommend this dentist for any foreigners or Japanese returnees who want a professional, full English speaking service. In fact, I would recommend it even to Japanese people as this dentist has a no nonsense approach and will not make you come back 50 times for each tiny incremental 'step' like so many Japanese dentists do. Each visit gets the job done. My dentist was very effective, professional and she answered any questions I had. NHI is accepted so you're fully covered here. This place won't break your bank like a lot of 'foreigner friendly' private dentists in Tokyo. Also, it's just 1min walk from Harajuku station. I won't be going anywhere else in the future.

Saved my holiday. I was having tooth pain from a deep filling and couldn't get an appointment in the UK before my holiday to Japan, so called here to see if I could get one and was seen 2 days later - and seen early on the day. The dentist was kind, reassuring and friendly. He spoke fluent english, confirmed I had an infected tooth, injected the area with antibiotics and gave me some more in pill form. Instant relief that lasted the whole of the holiday. I couldn't be more grateful to him! He did say I could have the tooth out there (I have since had it removed) but we agreed it would be a pain to deal with that over the holiday and it would have ruined it, I was just glad to stop the pain. Also, it was incredibly cheap compared to the UK.

As a foreigner living in Japan this is the best I have felt since visiting a medical facility. I felt as if I was in the western world. This was my first time to do an extraction and eventhough the dentist was unable to remove the tooth because of how strong it was, he did his best. He was amazing. I always dread going to medical facilities and eventhough I do my dental checks regularly I'm very much afraid everytime. He reassured me that it would've been smooth and it was. His attempt to extract the tooth was painless and comfortable. I really do recommend this dentist. His English is excellent, his explanation is very clear.

I have an appointment! I thought it was at 15.30 but when I arrived there the nurse told me my appointment is at 15.00. And then the other lady come I don’t know who is she maybe the doctor or the costumer service. She is so far far away from nice service like what I thought! I think it because I’m late. But if it’s difficult to get me in why not just give me a new appointment or send me away! No need to hard to customer/patient! I need a service not a military. And then I said if it’s difficult it’s ok and I go. And then she try to nice to me after I upset. I said it’s ok I’ll not come back again! SCARY

So glad I went there. The entire staff speak fluent English and also take insurance. As someone with a severe dental phobia, the staff are very understanding and caring. I will continue to go to them as long as I live in Tokyo. Update... just finished getting a wisdom tooth extraction. Doctor was very comforting and nurses were very kind. And they were very understanding when dealing with a panic attack. Gave antibiotics and pain meds. I recommend this place to any foreigners in the Tokyo area if they have any dental needs!

Absolutely the best dental clinic in Tokyo. The staff is amazing and friendly. I had a bit of an emergency and was seen quickly by Dr. Kazuko Hagiwara. She was extremely professional and caring. My options were clearly explained (in English). We settled on the best course of treatment for my situation and I am very pleased with the results. I highly recommend Trust Dental Clinic.

Best dental clinic in Tokyo, bar none. The staff took careful yet quick and decisive action on a painful tooth problem which was seriously affecting my quality of life. Conscientious and trustworthy advice given always. This explains why they are fully booked oftentimes, and yet they will flexibly adjust in case of an emergency. I wouldn't go anywhere else.

Absolutely fantastic. My wife had an accident in Hakone, she chipped her front teeth and they had began to cause her pain. They squeezed her in on the afternoon of the day we called and did a brilliant job fitting her a crown. Honestly so happy and they spoke great English. Recommended to any travellers who need help. Thanks again!

During my trip I was experiencing some extreme pain. I emailed Trust dental and they managed to get me in the same day even though they were fully booked. The staff were extremely kind and explained everything. I cannot be more grateful to them for making sure I could enjoy the rest of my trip pain free.

Awesome experience. Very professional and kind. I felt like I was back in the western world’s standards for dental care, and I couldn’t be happier. No rushing me into a 30min time slot, very professional doctor, thorough cleaning! I’m so pleased and will be back for all dental needs :)

Amazing place! Everyone was very professional and kind. Detailed explanation was provided and they were very open to listening and answering my questions. They accept Japanese health insurance which makes the treatments very affordable. They speak English very well which is a bonus.

Had a filling today and my experience was fantastic! The dentist who treated me was very pleasant and patiently outlined what she would do and made recommendations where necessary. I made my follow up appointment right away. They take the national insurance too.

I went in knowing I would surely need a root canal treatment. Everyone was friendly, the treatment was quick and most importantly, it was painless. I've never felt that relaxed in a dentist's office. I would recommend it without any hesitation!

I just had my two upper wisdom teeth removed. It look like 1 minute per tooth and only cost me ¥3,300 (with insurance), that’s including pain meds and antibiotics. They all speak perfect English. Give this place all your business!!

I had to do re-filling for my cavity, as it came off unexpectedly. The staff and the dentist were welcoming, fluent in English. Would definitely recommend for foreigners in emergency cases like mine!

  • Dario Lanfranconi

I have sent them 4 emails from different accounts over the last 4 weeks and never got any reply or error message. Disappointing to have their website list a contact e-mail and then getting ignored.

Great dentist. Dentist and assistants were attentive and seemed to care about my comfort. Was given pain relief for cleaning which I was never offered in the UK. Great English from all staff.
