Came here for passport renewal for minor. The reception guy who checks all the documents before we go to the window let us in without saying anything that we lack documents. When I was called to the window, the guy in the window of course re check the documents i passed but making a fuss asking for unnecessary documents. In the website for renewal passport (minor), requirment no.5 they were asking to bring original and copy one of either PSA birth certificate, Baptism certificate, and Report of birth. I chose Report of birth which is issued by PE Tokyo by themselves. (I feel that this is the strongest of those 3), but this guy was asking for the PSA birth certificate and he said that without the PSA birth certificate he cannot guarantee that there will be no problem in Manila and the passport can be issued. But in the end he asked me to proceed and pay which made me confused because what if the passport cannot be issued and I already paid for it. In the first place as a staff in consular section, don't they know the requirment written in their own website? I've been living in Japan for 15years and I get used to Japan polite government officials and its very annoying how my own embassy staffs treat their customer like this. Very unprofessional.

I went to the office a few weeks ago and submitted the necessary documents. They said it’s all good and I just have to wait for them to verify the documents. They even said they’re gonna send the documents back to me, so I left my contact details. I waited more than two weeks and NOTHING. So I called their office and guess what? “Ma’am you didn’t leave us any contact details so we cannot contact you back. Thank you for calling.” HUUUH?? WHAT?!!! are you saying you're just going to turn off the call and go on with your day? ARE YOU SERIOUS?! HOW UNPROFESSIONAL! So I said, “I did! I left my contact details and I even remember writing them on a sticky note and the lady who entertained me pasted it on my documents.” NOW WHY DID THEY NEVER CONTACT ME? AFTER TWO WEEKS? The worst part is they asked me questions they should already know the answer to! It’s your job?!!! Why are you asking me? I have been living in Japan long enough to understand just how INCOMPETENT some workers are. Omg please lower your expectations. This office is clearly not any different from the ones in the Philippines. It just gets more disappointing!

We renewed our passports last July 7, 2023. The transaction were done smoothly. I renewed my passport together with my husband and son, and the staffs were very patient, kind and humble especially the kuya at the reception desk and the Kuya’s on the windows who assisted us for the processing and picture taking. Before going to the embassy, I am worried because of the bad reviews from here but surprisingly, while doing the process, the assisting staffs were very kind professionals. I am just concern about the not so old lady at the cashier with short hair, ngiti ngiti din po para happy ang lahat. At wag nakabusangot para hindi masira ang mood ng lahat. But it doesn’t affect my 5stars review because overall, I am very satisfied with their service. And just yesterday, July 21, 2023, our new passports were delivered. SMOOTH PROCESS AND QUICK DELIVERY IT IS! Kudos! TIPS? Make sure to book an online appointment and surely, the process will be done for only 10minutes! It just took us less than 30mins. Don’t expect to be prioritized especially for walk-ins. Booking an online appointment is less hassle and very convenient.

Worst. Tatawag ka wala sumasagot. Mag email ka ang tagal sumagot. Kinuha na nga number mo hindi pa rin tatawag. Worst experience ever. Understandable na man kung busy, pero dapat maayos ang pag assist. Lumalapit sa inyo ang mga taong nangangailangan. Dapat maayos ang direction hindi yung "I was expecting blah blah blah". Kayo ang may alam hindi yung nagtatanong or nangangailangan. Part of your job yun. Dapat Crystal Clear ang direction nyo. Mahirap bumyahe for most of the people needing you. Hindi katulad ng city hall yan na malapit lang. Passport renewal mabilis but other process?? I don't think so. Mahirap talaga makausap. 最悪。星の価値もないです。たらい回しにされた挙句、こちらが悪いみたいな言い方をされました。 電話も30以上待ってやっと繋がる状態。そこで必要な回答/情報が得られるならまだしも、同じことの繰り返しでなんの進展もなし。 手続きの問い合わせ関連は的確な指示を出さないと、時間の無駄、金銭の無駄、混乱を招くだけです。 先日とある手続きを申請をしようと思って言われた通りのメールを送ったのですが、そこから数ヶ月なんの音沙汰もなく、クレームのメールを入れたら○○をしてくれると思っていました。の返事を頂きました。書類、手続きのプロセスは職員が一番知っていることであって、お客さんではありません。 大使館という大事な場所で働いている以上、対応の仕方を改めるべきです。 市役所と違って、大抵の人は近所には住んでいなく、時間、労力、金銭、をかけて皆訪れています。 その事を念頭に置いて、改善を願います。 パスポート更新は受付から支払いまではスムーズでそんなに時間はかからなかったのですが、他の申請は正直最悪です。

I booked an appointment online 7 months ago and they emailed me telling me that they would just inform me if there are available dates. But last January there were a lot of available dates but they never informed me about it. So, I tried to book an appointment online again based on the available dates they posted for January. I completed my application and submitted it but I didn’t get any confirmation emails from them. Then, I tried to give them calls many times .TBH, I used to call them three times a week but nobody answered. My calls are always answered by voice audix. What’s the use of your telephone, PE TOKYO?? During this time of pandemic when we can’t visit your office without appointment, phone inquiry is very useful. So you also have to pay attention every time the phone rings. How can we reach you??? When we email, no replies! When we call, nobody answers!!! When we go there, nobody will entertain us because we have no appointment slip!!! So, how???

The staff have slightly improved since the last time I visited. The man at the door was very respectful and helpful. The passport renewal process took about 15 minutes (granted that I already had my papers in order), however, it could have been faster if the cashier opened her window on time (I was there a bit early and all the workers have started on time except for “window 9”). I wish the ladies at Window 6 (document receiver) and Window 9 (cashier) could at least greeted their "customers" even though they don't seem enthusiastic in serving them, and I can imagine those ladies would be grumpier in the afternoon. Finally, the slightly older man who took my picture in their office was kind and calm. I haven't had the chance to observe the rest of the staff but so far I say "kudos" to the men working there haha. I hope the service at government offices will continue to improve to the point that will make Filipinos proud. “Philippine service”.

We have been in the process of sponsoring our new international marketing manager and followed the procedure step by step! we went in person and handed in the paperwork organized by the middleman in the Philippines. instead of being a smooth service from a department that should know what it's doing! instead, we get asked for more paperwork and corrections which wasn't a problem. the problem is that they asked for more paperwork on our 3rd visit which required 3 documents that needs translation while knowing that we are on an extremely short timetable. this request was not made on the 1st or 2nd visit! on top of this, the staff at the gates were rude, and the hallway lady raised her voice when I could not understand her Tagalog! I am a not native speaker and there was no need for the behavior! you are here to represent our great country and all you have done is put shame to it

Im giving this institution 3 stars because the lady whom I talked to over the phone was very helpful when I told her that we had an emergency situation about our child and were not able to come early for the walk-in appointment for NBI fingerprinting and that the document is really urgent as we need it for visa application as online appointment are all fully booked in the Notarials Section so she gave us a slot. Minus 2 stars because despite me having a good experience, I felt bad for my fellow Filipinos who were treated rudely by the counter staffs. It felt as if their customers are stupid or some sort by the way they treat them. I hope the system would change as this is a government agency of the Philippines in Japan.

A lady with short blonde hair , wearing Ralph Lauren blue polo , glasses ,window 5 for passport process . She’s the only RUDE staff I guess . She’s mad just because I got 3 mistakes in my form . It’s very disappointing coz I was polite and accepted my mistake and that mistake is not a big deal at all (I can just rewrite ). She better say “ maam ,because there’s a mistake , you’re passport will be delay “ . That’s it ! Very simple right ? . You better review our reviews because you’re a government employees and you should be a good example for us . She needs more training (I almost cried by the way ) other than that , the process of my report of birth was smooth .

Their payment system sucks. I’ve visited PE Tokyo many times in the past couple of years to process different types of documents. The attitude of the staff and the information provided on their website have slightly improved. However, their service is far from good. You don’t close the cash register at 12PM just because the staff is on a lunch break and expect everyone to come back at 1PM to pay for the processing fee. They don’t even open on time, resulting in an even longer queue. This is unfair for those who have travelled from far away or have an engagement later that day. At least have a shift system where the staff can take turns at the register.

As i read all the reviews about telephone calls not answering, im a little bit anxious if they were telling the truth or perhaps the staff is busy. But when i keep waiting for at least 11 minutes and 20 seconds and nobody pickup! What is wrong with their telephone lines? Is it the telephone or the staff itself? Please do something to fix it! I can't walk( doctors advice) to go there personally just to ask questions about my son passport. We arrived 11:20 and it just took an hour for my son passport renewal! Wow! Wow! Excellent! Excellent service! Good job everyone! Kudos to all the staff!

They make errors/ mistakes with official documents (specifically passports) even though supporting documents were already provided as references. Then, they will always blame other people as an excuse to cover up their mistakes. Some staff are rude. They are wasting people's time and money, coming back to their office and repaying just to correct their errors on the official documents. It causes delay, inconvenience, stress, and trouble amongst people. I hope they will perform their job well, with focus and accuracy.

そばにある駐車場は非常に狭く、交通の便に難あり。(まぁ東京ですから致し方がない。) 警備員も人を選んで注意したりでちょっと目にあまります。 入口の案内係の女性がかなり横柄でいつか喧嘩になるんじゃないかと思うくらいだった。
