This is a cultural heritage site of guangzhou China. The pagoda contains 500 statues of Arhaths and 1000 statues of buddhas. There is no charge to enter the temple. You can get incense sticks at the entrance and light them up in the designated brazier. The temple also contains a very large hall where golden colour statues of buddhas are placed and you can worship there.

One of the oldest Buddhist Temples in Guangzhou. Even if many buildings, figures etc have been damaged or removed during "Revolution", renovation and new adons brought back a real temple situation and atmosphere, making it the most visited Buddhist Temple in the center of Guangzhou. - See also the many temple-related shops nearby...

A bigger temple than Temple of the six banyan trees. Very airy and tranquil. Paid 5 or 10 yuan for the entrance fee. A temple where the locals come. This temple seemed popular with the locals but it is also perceived as more ritualistic. There are many eateries outside the temple which serve good local food.

Nice temple in Yuexiu district near the Ximenkou metro station. The temple is well maintained and preserved as one of the oldest temples in Guangzhou. Do visit if you have some time during your trip to Guangzhou.

広州市内最古のお寺。起源は紀元200年となる古いお寺。現在の形には南宋時代の1151年になった。中の菩提樹は三蔵法師が持って帰った苗で、中国内では1番初めに植樹されたそう。五代十国時代に建てられた塔が(西塔963年、東塔964年)あるとの事だったが、工事中で見ることは叶わず。涅槃佛や大きな仏像、髪パゴダもあり。日曜日の午後に訪れましたが、参拝者の方がたくさんの人数でお経を動き回りながら読んでいた。5元の入場料で入れるのは満足度が非常に高い。地下鉄1号線西門口から徒歩10分程で真っ直ぐ進めば迷わず到着出来ます。

Один из старинных храмов Гуанджоу, известен с 7-го века. Место паломничества дзен-будистов. Меня удивило огромное количество цветов перед входом в одно из строений храма. Совершенно одуряющий аромат лилий. Интересно, здесь всегда так или по праздникам?

An extensive temple complex, very busy on Sunday. It was s great experience to immerse in the atmosphere, admire the architecture, flowers artworks while hearing the worshipers rhythmic chants in the background.

Pretty, in a modern, commercial way. Everything has been repainted and updated (reminds me of a lot of Japanese temples, but not nearly as peaceful). I preferred the Temple of the Six Banyan trees to this one.

Reconstructed, oldest Buddhist temple in Guangdong province, with a history dating back to the Han dynasty

光孝寺是廣州最大的一所佛教寺廟。庭園內有一顆菩提樹，寫著是從佛成道處帶來的一株菩提樹苗種植，樹杆頗大，有大量青綠的菩提樹葉，沾滿了佛氣，隨喜讚嘆。還有，這亦是一所禪寺，寺內有六祖惠能大師的肖像，值得大家來參觀。

令人感動的千年古廟！六祖壇經：「值印宗法師講涅槃經。時有風吹幡動。一僧云。風動；一僧云。幡動。議論不已。能進曰。不是風動。不是幡動。仁者心動。一眾駭然。」歷歷然，如昨日。有幸能走入歷史景點，緬懷六祖風采！
