Close to Subway Line 1 - Banpo Station (Exit A) If you have the time, this is an interesting place to vist. 6000 year old relics & remnants of a civilization is something you don't see every day. Original excavation sites makes this visit interesting. This place doesn't have the grander of the Terracotta Warriors, But it is fascinating in its own realm. Surrounding tall buildings makes you wonder (Whiskey Tango Foxtrot) the city planners were thinking when they allowed all the construction- makes you wonder how much history was destroyed. Not crowded during the visit; 55CNY entrance fee in October 2019.
Awesome peace of art. Great creativity. Its a special treat for eyes. I like all the the designs put on display. Have many varities of restored sculptures from old culture. In first sight can't believe its restored. Very big place. Need at least 2 -3 hours to cover everything. Nice and helpful staff. Well maintained place. Nice infrastructure and management. Great place to learn about chinese culture and history. People should support such a great creativity. Thanks for the services.
This is a museum showing neolithic archeology findings in Xi'an. It is dated even longer than Terracotta warrior's period. Foreigners should visit here instead of Terracotta Warrior Museum. But somehow not many people visit here. Such a shame.
I wouldn't go as far as saying "must see" but it isn't every day you see 6000 year old skeletons. Some of the museum buildings look run down and derelict but the main excavation site building is pretty incredible and the gallery has some interesting exhibits. I'd say go there if you have time!
6000 years ago... banpo village ruled by women. Quiet place. Not so many tourists. Very dusty. If you want to see actual village, skeletons, burial sites, earthen wears, etc. May finish in an hour or so.not as famous as the other sites in china. Worth to see past culture.
The Banpo museum is a must see. I am an archaeologist and I think this is a magnificent museum. This is public archaeology at its best. Every neo lithic archaeologist should come here. The pottery looks like American Native American pottery. Amaziing.
Worth visiting if you have already hit up the other big tourist attractions in the area. They have excavated a village from 6000 years ago. Lots of earthen jars used to bury children. The outside activities were all closed when we went (January).
It is the beginning of ancient China where you could see how they protect themselves from dangers. Eartware already existing and also evidence of rituals they followed at that period of time.
Turned out to be quite an interesting and modern museum. The "kids" area is very interesting, and for 20 yuan they can help you make fire (and light a torch) using prehistoric techniques!
This is the sight where the Chinese government got there Olympic mascot inspiration from! Also there are 2 new excavation pits and you can see body's slowly emerging out of the ground
Absolute gem. Tells you a lot about how the Neanderthals in Xi’an 6000 years ago lived and built their houses. It is also very accessible by the nearby Banpo metro station.
Remaims of a 6000 year old village. Very well preserved. The museum is excellent especially the hologram animation and the large screen. I wonder how this is made.
It interesting if you like history but i would avoid if you do not. If you are short with time skip this. We went with a package to terracotta army.
Absolutely stunning place, the hotel nearby is beautiful. Great service. Relaxing surroundings to get away from the city.
Not worth if you are on day trip. It is not well maintained although some artifacts are thousands of years old
A very historial place on human civilization 6000yrs history;recreated in details.worth a visit
Really interesting historical site. 6500years!
很棒的博物館 非常值得參觀 大大推薦
Interesting to see
不错,就是跟团太匆忙了
儿时的记忆
值得一看
