The China Eastern Airlines Lounge in Terminal 2 close to Gate 77 is probably my favorite lounge at Pudong International Airport. I also sometimes go to the Air China (Star Alliance) Lounge located within the same Terminal, but definitely prefer the choice of food, drinks, and generally layout of the China Eastern lounge over the Air China lounge. Throughout the day, even for breakfast, you can enjoy noodles made to order with a choice of rice noodles or regular noodles with a good selection of toppings that you can add on your own from the counter. They also have a good mix of Chinese and western food options as well as wine, sparkling wine, and other alcohol. I also like how the lounge is very close to the gates that I use to fly to Japan. This is a picture of the Air China Lounge. The Air China Lounge, however, does have showers, three bedrooms for those wanting to catch a nap, shower, and a bar downstairs.
All eight photos I took yesterday at the China Eastern Airline V.I.P. Lounge at the Number 77 at the Pudong International Airport Terminal 2 can tell you that the overall quality at the V.I.P. Lounge is near outstanding. However, it is a pity that the Swiss Made JWIA latte & cappuccino machine is too old because both Cappuccino and Latte always come out poorly, meaning the taste is not right at all, in addition of lacking milk etc. That is the worst Cappuccino and Latte machine I have ever seen. Even three staff members there admitted to me in person that the machine is too old. They told me that the machine is often broken again and again. This is a bit inconsistent with China's current rapid development in the areas such as hundreds of high-rise skyscrapers, massive subways, high-speed rail bullet trains, bridges and tunnels etc. It is worth noting that a round trip economic-class ticket from New York JFK to Shanghai PVG costs $1,400 recently because the China Eastern Airline is the only airline that can offer a direct flight of JFK (New York) to and from PVG (Shanghai). It's time to replace that old coffee machine with a modern coffee machine ASAP for the benefit of all its customers.
We have transferred through Pudong International Airport a few times in our travels on the way to South East Asia. We even featured spending a few hours at Pudong airport on our layover from Toronto to Singapore on our YouTube channel @KassyPlusOne. Very clean and well maintained airport. Love that they have karaoke booths located in some of the terminals, so you can have fun while on a long layover. The biggest shock to us (as North American travelers) was the hot water stations instead of cold water fountains that we are used to. Grab a few tea bags, reusable bottle with you and enjoy a nice cup of tea while waiting for your flight. Great selection of restaurants and souvenir shops. We tried the Korean Traditional Restaurant and had some delicious bibimbap for the first time ever, plus indulged in some Mochi and Waffle Ice Cream. Also, Starbucks nicely surprised us with very cool cup carrying nets. Would love to have those available in Toronto, Canada locations. Overall, great experience on a long layover. Safe travels to you!
Do not expect anything during the shutdown. I was told my flight was one of 5 flights that day. While i was waiting 2 hours to check in, I did not see a single flight come in or go out. Bring your own water and snacks until you're checked in. No vending machines. No stores are available. Your flight may be delayed or canceled. I was told some passengers have waited days. I assume food and water were likely provided for those cases. After you checked in, take the time to complete the electronic form as you're waiting in line to go through security. If you complete it correctly you're have a qr code. Without it, you're not getting through. BTW. The day I went through security they confiscated sanitizing agents, even the travel sizes. Dress comfortably, no air conditioning. If you do have first class access, the lounge cooked food is not good.
The only irritating thing is that fake iphone sellers haunt this place (departure area)and keep asking the travellers to buy it. The cops do nothing about it and let them in inside the departure area. The police/security personnel inside the airport are fully aligned with the fake iphone sellers. They take photographs of iphone sellers and the traveller buying it, which creates panick for the traveller for getting caught while buying fake iphone and so they hurriedly buy the phone handover the cash and leave for their gate. Once they have left, the police officer meets the iphone seller and get their commission from the sale. The personnel near the airline counters for check-in, see that the passengers being persuaded by the fake iphone seller, but do nothing about it, nor inform any security personnel. Experience from TERMINAL 2 Pudong.
Once you are in China you won’t be able to read this review, as google is restricted. Pudong airport makes travelling an actual enjoyable experience. The airport is well laid out, bright, light, easy to get around. It’s designed to get people into the country as fast and conveniently as possible. Queues are short, people are helpful. Signs are clear. It’s what you want from an airport. Little touches make it exceptional - there is a separate baggage pickup line if you have status or paid for a more expensive ticket. Transport from the airport, especially on the MagLev is FAST. 15 minutes to Shanghai when the car takes 45 minutes. I can’t think of a better airport for getting into a country.
Very spacious with a lot of seats. Has a little museum at one end. Food court is on two floors. Has a Costa Coffee if you fancy something English. There are a lot of water dispensers, but they are either hot or warm water, not cold. Can use them for pot noodles. Has some interesting Chinese shops for souvenirs.
But boring. Some restaurants in departures on the top floor. Cheapest way to eat by far is to buy instant noodles from the little smiley face store in departures called "cheerway easy go". Other restaurants are quite pricey. We had Turkish food but it wasn't very good turkey food.
Workers are very rude, border security uses this scanning device and physically touches you. In China you just have to ignore the rude people and enjoy the rest of everything. The structure is so nice and the subway and high speed train is…...

Çok büyük bir havalimanı 1. Terminalden 2.
From here you can take the bullet train towards the metropolis. The only challenge is there arent many english speaking staff especially in the immigration. You'll have to follow your own instinct to find your way in and out.
Modern and well-designed airport outside of Shanghai. Connected to various city centers via direct subway & bus systems. Though transit between terminals (T1 & T2) is not the easiest if you have a tight flight transfer.
The airport is still amazing. But the check in process is still the same except the implement of filling up the custom clearance through an App and not form on the point of clearance can cause many confusion. …...

In aeroport mare cu toate facilitățile moderne.
One of best Airport. Very clean and spacious. Very Informative. But not enough seats for passengers in waiting area. And less number of mobile charging units. Usually crowded and need to wait in long que.
For getting to level 2 with a trolley, you'll have to use one of the two elevators. Also the food and drinks dispenser doesn't accept currency or credit cards. You need Alipay or a similar phone pay app.
It's an iconic airport, to say the least. Although it can be very confusing for English-speaking tourists. Unless you know Mandarin, it might actually be difficult for you to understand where to go.…...
Very well maintained, too big Only issue with some fraud public inside Aiport selling many item , they will show some gadgets and tell its stolen and selling in low price
It is one of the busiest airports in China, but it spacious enough and it does not feel crowded. There is a decent choice of cafés, restaurants, and shops.

It's getting confusing with all of the Covid measures. Still an impressive airport nonetheless. I look forward to a new normal in the near future.
Airport is set up for covid distancing. Did not really see much of it. It was well organized tho for processing and quarantine
Really bad experience, even i am in ETIHAD airlines here didn’t support Halal Food in the launch
Instalaciones impersonales. Inmigración con controles redundantes y muy lenta
China eastern plaza premium lounge
