My friend and I stayed here for three nights during our two weeks in Japan and I could not recommend it enough. The hostel was very much homey-vibes, and was very comfortable and friendly. The owner, Mako, is so sweet and very knowledgeable about the area. When you stay here, you also get free welcome drinks every night! Everyone who stayed at the hostel was also great, and the atmosphere at the hostel allowed everyone to feel comfortable meeting each other, hanging out, and talking. It was a very different experience than other hostels we've stayed at where everyone keeps to themselves. The room was also great. My friend and I stayed in a private. The AC was amazing in the July heat and the beds were so comfortable. The hostel was super well-kept and very clean. Mako has also put a list of recommendations for nearby restaurants on a chalkboard in the bar area, which was very helpful. Plus, there is a large grocery store nearby if you want to make any of your own food (we didn't so I'm not sure what kitchen amenities are available). Overall, I would highly recommend staying at this hostel, and if I'm ever in Hiroshima again, I will definitely be back.

What. A. Place. Quite genuinely the friendliest and most memorable experience of accommodation in Japan. Upon arrival, Mako is instantly welcoming and personable. Greeting you in the main bar area, it makes for an instantly integrated experience, introducing you to the main social space and the other guests. We were quickly offered a welcome drink, which we sat and enjoyed with the other guests. It was great to talk to Mako and other guests in such an informal setting, something I haven't experienced in many other hostels in Japan. The rooms were delightful, simple but had everything needed, the AC worked a miracle on the hot June nights we stayed. Mako also gave us amazing recommendations for the surrounding area, including Hakushima Brunch, which went on to become our favourite breakfast in Japan too! All in all- don't put off coming to Roku hostel- my favourite place I stayed in Japan, and a big reason for falling in love with Hiroshima.

Great, clean little hostel for an excellent price conveniently located near a JR local station in Hiroshima. Mako was very welcoming and we felt right at home at the bar/restaurant (they say it's just a bar but the food is really quite good!) chatting with other guests and visiting locals. The (private) rooms are quite small, so be ready for that if you have a lot of luggage, but the dorm-style rooms looked nice compared to other hostels I've stayed at. Definitely worth a visit, especially for the price!

I stayed for one night here at Roku, and it was a pleasant experience. I had a private room, came with two single beds and a desk. The room was good size and it was very effective and modest accommodation. The facility is clean, Maiko was very welcoming and professional, and the shower area, kitchen, and toilet are all well kept. Overall a very pleasant experience, not far from the JR line walk. I will definitely stay here again on my return to Hiroshima.

可愛らしいスタッフさんが、とても丁寧に宿の説明をしてくれたお陰で安心しました。 宿泊当日、街はハロウィンパーティーで賑わっており、宿のBARでも常連のお客さんと子供達で賑わっていました。 「流石に一緒に飲むのはハードル高いなぁ」と思って外に出ようかと思ったのですが、スタッフさんが間に取り持ってくれ輪の中に入れました。 常連のお客さん達は皆素敵な方達で、楽しすぎてついつい閉店まで居座ってしまいました。笑 とてもフレンドリーなオーナーの作る朝食のホットサンドはとても美味しかったです。 今まで泊まったゲストハウスの中で1番です。

Roku n'est pas une ghesthouse comme les autres, c'est une expérience de vie, de partage avec des gens qu'on va croiser depuis différentes routes et qui tous passent par Roku. Vieille baisse sans âge et pleine de charme tenue de main de maître par la patronne qui veille à faire de votre séjour, un bon moment.

ドミトリーを利用。JR新白島駅、アストラムライン白島駅に近い古民家を改装したゲストハウス（広島駅から歩いても行けるが少し距離がある）。アットホームな雰囲気でサービスもよかった。またタイル張りを貴重とした内装がおしゃれだった。 寝床は二段ベッド式で若干手狭なところもあるが、一般的なゲストハウスのドミトリーという感じ。トイレの設備などは新しいものに変えられており、清潔。また、ゲストハウスには珍しく追加料金で朝食を提供している。ちなみに、夜は一階の共用スペースがバー営業を行っているらしい。店主が気さくな方なので色々と面白い話を聞けると思う。 ウェルカムドリンクがついてくるのがよかった。アットホームな雰囲気でくつろげるとても良いゲストハウスだった。

Fantastic small hostel that also has a small bar and cafe (depending on the time of day). Incredibly helpful and positive staff that really create an excellent atmosphere. The private room is perfect for two and has large corner windows that give lots of light. Multiple bathrooms was nice to have as well. Highly recommended and will definitely book again if I return to Hiroshima.

Nice place to stay if you want to meet lots of like minded travelers. Accommodation a bit basic (and I was a bit worried about the electrical installation that could potentially cause a fire in my opinion), but the staff and the other guests were all really friendly creating a great atmosphere... I would say it is more suitable for people in their 20's and 30's.

Great place. In kind of a quiet area of hiroshima. But it doesn't matter. Still easy to get everywhere. We had a private room. The bed was mats on the floor but it was way more comfortable than a lot of the beds we've had in Japan. Smallish hostel with a bar which makes it super easy to meet people. And the hosts were super friendly. Highly recommend.

Simply one of the best hostels I have stayed at while in Japan. Very friendly staff who are just fun to talk to. Dorm room offers a nice quiet place to sleep. The common room / bar area is a great place to eat, drink and meet local's. Had such a great time here, I highly recommend you stay here, I just wish I could go back sometime soon, I miss it!

Roku is amazing!!!!!! The bar at the bottom is amazing at night. Very friendly and amazing atmosphere. If you are considering Roku...DO NOT give it a miss! The rooms are cozy and clean with good facilities and staff are very helpful. It's also only 5 mins from a JR station and is close to lots of convenience stores and food. Best hostel ever!

One of the best hostels I stayed at in Japan! The vibe is homely and social, you meet other travellers very easily over the welcome drink you get every night. The owners and staff are so welcoming as well. They provide towels and toiletries, which is great. Beds are comfy and location is great :)

A very cozy hostel with nice ambience. The hostel is a house with traditional japanese design. It's a bunk bed style with man and woman dormitory. Toiletries (body soap and shampoo) are provided for free. The best part though, is the warm and friendly hostel staffs. They really make you feel like you are at home. Recommended !

I just had a cocktail, but it was reasonably priced and tasty. I arrived a bit late and it was fairly quiet. A few guests were in the bar, then headed to their rooms. The restroom was petite and clean. I would consider staying in a private room. Good vibes.

I could only stay one night, but this place is great. Cozy little guest house with a very welcoming and friendly owner. It’s in a quiet, laid back neighborhood, not too far from the stations. Small bar at night, bathrooms and showers clean. It’ll be a little cramped if you are really tall or on the heavy side.

Such a lovely family environment ! Like a home away from home ! They also have such a lovely lil baby girl who brightens your day up immediately ! Only issue was the microwave which would turn something that was meant to be 5-6 mins to 25 mins D: was quite frustrating. But other than that WOULD RECOMMEND.

Inlove this place, great hospitality and very japenese architecture. Shoku the landlady even stayed up late into the night alto check me in.

The staff is really very welcoming and the place really charming. the mattress a little stiff but very spacious cabin with lots of storage. And especially super charming. The atmosphere is really relaxed. Welcoming drink. Possibility to take a breakfast not too expensive. Great place to stay!

Only went to the bar as the house was full booked. Very nice wooden building, with travelers and locals drinking together in a family friendly atmosphere. Prices are nice and the oil cooked edamame are delicious. I wish I could stay there. Staff is young, energetic and helpful.

This place is great, clean, good bar, and amazing people working there! Be sure to try the okonomiyaki place nearby that they recommend! Great location aswell with only a super nice 20 minute stroll to the center, 1 minute walk to a bus stop, or 5 minutes to the train station.

広島駅からも近くアクセスも良い （新白島から歩くのが一番良い） 建物もおしゃれなな雰囲気で、清潔。 （ゲストハウスなのでもちろん少し狭いとは思いますが） とても雰囲気の良いゲストハウスで、 たこ焼きパーティなどもやっていて交流の機会もあり非常に良かった。 たまたまかもしれないが、他のゲストハウスに比べて若干日本人の比率が高い？ バーもあるので、お酒を買ってきて飲むのもよし、バーお酒を頼むのもよし、たこ焼きパーティで食べるのもよし、近くのお店に行くもよし 選択肢も多く非常におすすめ。 一人旅、少人数の友達となどのシーンでどうぞ！

Very nice guesthouse. The house is simply wonderful and the staff is just great. They made my stay was really nice. They have a bar and first drink is free for guests. Many local people go there to have fun so it is a starting point to meet new awesome people.

Of all 8 places that I stayed whilst visiting Japan this was my favourite. There was a real sense of community in this hostel, and the staff were all extremely friendly and welcoming. I would definitely recommend to anyone staying in Hiroshima.

Cozy quiet and cute with wonderful staff and kind guests. The food is delicious as well. A bit far from the main drag but I think that’s a plus for this place. Definitely recommend for a cheap stay for solo travelers in Hiroshima

ホームページあり。昼はお抹茶パフェもあるそう。宿泊代、コーヒー代など格安でお客もどんどん入ってくるし、コントかと思うラフで楽しいお店でした。お料理メニューが少ないのと、多少の難点は愛嬌で許せたかな～。？偶然通りかかっただけが、スマイルゼロ円の優しいお兄さん(夜のカフェタイム)の雰囲気につられてご飯食べて帰りました。常連客が飲んでいて、初めての女子バックパッカーさんや外人さんが次々やって来る様子が目新しくてユースホステルを初めて目の当たりにしました。

2023年12月に3泊お世話になりました。 広島の繁華街や広島城、平和記念公園にも歩いて行ける観光に便利な立地。 ウェルカムドリンク、洗顔タオルなど気配りと清潔感あるゲストハウス。 オーナーさんやスタッフさんからお勧めの観光地や食事処を教えてもらい、期待以上に充実した広島滞在となりました。

Amazing hostel! Staff are hilarious and very helpful. The dorm beds have a little shelf which is perfect for storing clothes etc. It's a minute away from a grocery store and a short walk to the castle and Peace Park.

Excellent place to stay in Hiroshima. The owner and staff are super friendly and good English speakers. We stayed in both the private room and the dorm rooms. This is the best run hostel I have come across.

Stay here in Hiroshima! One of the best hostels I've been to. Doubled as a neighborhood bar, they welcome you with a drink every night and cheap breakfast in the morning. Very friendly people.

I brought a group of American High School students on a trip through Japan. We stayed in 4 hostels during our adventures. While all were quality and enjoyable, this little gem was the best.

Very cozy hostel with the friendliest staff I ever met! Good location, and a very good yakitori restaurant across it. Highly recommended if anyone stops at Hiroshima.

Clean, friendly staff, and small (8-10 beds per dorm). Crowd was laid back and not too rowdy. 10 minutes walk to Shin Hakushima Station (JR and local).

Cafe Bar Nana is the most fantastic place in Japan. It always provides visitors with friendly services. You can come and have experience anyway!
