Smooth and pleasant experience, beginning to end. First impression: Upon walking in the salon, I was immediately greeted. The place has a hip vibe with a R&B, hip hop, pop playlist. Within a few minutes after sitting down, a lady came over to do a hair consultation in English and told me who my hair stylist is - Hajin (Roh Hajin). Hair consultation: I wanted wavy hair for texture and more volume that would last more than just a couple of months, ideally 8 months to a year. I have shoulder length, pin-straight, thin hair. I also did NOT want a hippie perm. In the end, they were honest on what was realistic. I would get a root perm for volume, heat perm for waves that would last for ~4-5 months (with maintenance), and a keratase treatment for hair damage. The process: -Quick snip to my hair ends while keeping as much length as possible. -Applied some sort of solution to my hair in sections. -Sat under this heat contraption that spins around above my hair. I got a refreshment tray with cookies and chocolate, which was a nice touch. -Hair check on hair -Wash hair. Love their fancy electric reclining chair! -More waiting for hair -Curlers for the root perm and wavy perm -More waiting, heat, and checks -Hair wash and waiting - Hajin showed me how to style and maintain my waves Service: So welcoming and courteous. I felt comfortable compared to previous perm experiences. They even give you a little refreshment tray with cookies and your choice of drink. Hajin and his partners were attentive to every detail. Price: Reasonable for everything being done - I'd say $$ for someone coming from NYC and $$$ for a small US city. Not cheap but not anything ridiculous. I personally think it's worth paying more for quality. I also bought the hair treatment they used on me, which was average price for their branded product - $24. End result: Happy with the result. Soft waves that look healthy and a little oomph in my hairline as opposed to flat.

This place ended up being the saving grace of a last minute impulsive decision of getting a haircut as we were able to book an appointment for the same day even though other salons were fully booked. This place was pretty foreigner friendly, with one of the workers seeming to be fluent in English but I do suggest having picture examples for your wanted haircut/ style so it’s easier to explain to the person cutting your hair as their English may not be as proficient (this really isn’t a downside tho as they try their best regardless). As soon as we were greeted, we got sat down and given a small bag filled with any necessities for your visit (the charging cable given being very helpful), you also had the choice of ordering a drink but due to my cut being quite quick I didn’t manage to order anything. Overall the atmosphere was really nice and we managed to get our haircuts done as soon as we got there, Hajin was the person that cut my hair and he managed to give me the cut I asked for in a very proficient manner- making sure that I was comfortable and that I liked the direction the haircut was going in throughout the appointment. A nice hair wash/ massage was included in the appointment which was very relaxing, the styling done after was also very a nice touch. I would love to get my hair done here again and I definitely recommend it for anyone else~

I had a wonderful experience at Soonsiki! I booked this appt through creatrip and came here for a cut and perm. Everyone was very friendly and my stylist, Bible, sat down with me for a consultation. (Pro tip: she did speak English but there were some things that were difficult to communicate so it would help to have a translator app like papago or Google open and ready just in case) I brought some photo examples of haircuts I liked she gave her input on what she thinks would/wouldn’t work for my hair, which I appreciated. I ended up getting a layered cut and root + c-curl perm and I love it ☺️. Then Bible taught me how to style my new hair and how to take care of it. Also, you get a little amenity bag when you come in for the appointment which contains thoughtful items like a phone charger, mouth wash, ice pack, etc. The phone charger really came in handy since my appointment lasted longer than I thought (I have very thick hair so every hair appointment lasts longer than anticipated) And the salon served drinks and cookies too. Also, just wanted to note that they put on little eye covers when washing my hair and a face shield when blowdrying my hair, which I’ve never had anyone do for me before. It’s all the little details that count! Overall, I had a fantastic experience and would recommend Soonsiki and my stylist, Bible, to anyone!

I had a fantastic experience at the Hongdae salon. My hairdresser, Bible, had a lengthy consultation with me to ensure she understood the cut and colour I wanted. Even though I was indecisive and we had a language barrier, she helped me choose based on my current hair condition using translation apps. After settling on a full head bleach + treatment + cut, she and a team of hairdressers ensured I had a pleasant time. The salon was busy so I stayed longer than expected, however I was given complimentary coffee and snacks. Bible was tending to multiple clients but still spent time to cut and recut my hair until I was satisfied. The only negative part was the ‘scalp massage’ given by another hairdresser that was only 2 presses on my head (could have been due to how busy they were). I would recommend this salon to foreigners! Thank you to the team :)

Very easy to find and on a nice location. all of the staff greeted me once i entered the building. i had very dry hair and Bible suggested colors and treatment to lessen the damage on my hair and make it slightly more healthier. I unfortunately had a schedule and was unable to get the treatment but i would definitely get it next time. Very friendly staff and the communication wasnt too bad. It was good communication in english and we also used translator to communicate. I recommend this place as they give you a care pack, drinks and some snacks during your stay! 10 November 2023- This was my first experience at Soonsiki Hongdae Flagship and they are very foreigner friendly. They provide complementary drinks, snacks, and an amenities kit that was convenient. I got a color, hair treatment, and cut. Sun Woo, Jae Hyung, and another assistant with short blonde hair (I apologize for not catching her name) were excellent! I truly felt relaxed and pampered during the entire process. It started with a consultation of what color and cut style I wanted. Then I met with Sun Woo, and she went over more finer details. She understood the look I wanted and gave great recommendations. I trusted her knowledge and am truly happy with how my hair turned out! I would definitely return again on my next trip to Seoul :)

Bible was so amazing!!! She was meticulous and answered all my questions during the initial consultation to make sure I got everything I needed. I did dye, cut, and scalp/hair treatment. I initially wanted a root perm, but Bible actually advised against it since I wouldn’t be able to maintain it back in the US which I appreciated so much. Absolutely in love with the results. The atmosphere of the space is also to die for. They give you a choice of free drink with little snacks and give a little bag with a phone charger, wipes, etc to use while there. Staff were beyond kind and knowledgable and work easily with English speakers- it was definitely the best experience in a hair salon I’ve ever had :)))

This was the first time I got my haircut while traveling outside the U.S. so I was a bit nervous. Also, I was going from long to very short. I have to say Ha Jin did a fantastic job. I LOVE my haircut. I went in wanting a short, very straight bob but because my hair was naturally wavy, he suggested I get a magic perm. However, I was running out of time so I just went with just the cut and he flat-ironed to style. But even after washing my hair and having it a little wavy, I still love me cut. It created its own style and I might love it even more. Thank you, Ha Jin, for the wonderful experience. Will definitely go back next time in a Seoul!

Went there on the 1st october and I really enjoyed the unique experience of a korean hair salon! Soonsiki is really foreigner friendly and I had a great time there thanks to Son Bin and Ha Jin. It’s been a month and my hair is amazing, since I went back to France I only had compliments. Thanks to Ha Jin’s advices I went for a red color and a treatment because my hair was damaged. I also did a wolfcut which is beautiful and again it’s all Ha Jin’s work. Now my hair is healthy and amazing! I can only recommand to go there and enjoy, it’s worth the price if you are travelling in Seoul to experience that especially if you have asian hair.

I just got my hair cut and a hot perm here and they really care about what you want and they take the time to give you exactly what you asked for. They even give advice about aftercare. I love the way my hair turned out and would recommend this hair salon to anyone who's looking for a perm or haircut. Everyone here is also very friendly. today i went to soonsiki for a hair treatment. I had permanent curls set and they placed a volume treatment on the roots of my hair. I am so happy with the result and with the service that soonsiki offers. you get a pillow to rest your arms on, they regularly come and ask if you want something to eat or drink and if you need anything els you just ask. The people who work here are all super nice, polite and listen very carefully to your wishes. i will definitely return.

The store is very nicely decorated and the employees were very nice. I had the hairdresser Min Kyung. She was very accommodating and his advice on hairstyles was very good. The whole treatment from bleaching, hair cutting to styling was very pleasant. I am very satisfied with the result and the visit was very worthwhile for me. I dont know what happened, ive seen so many good reviews, they absolutely butchered my hair.
