Fast paced subway station. 4/5/6/N/Q/R/W. Many exits/entrances; Make up your mind which exit you want to use ahead of time. The escalators by the supermarket entrance/exit as 3.22.2017 are out of order so just walk up the steps. I wouldn't advise using that questionable elevator either. This station is always busy even late in the night, so you are never really alone even if you are traveling alone. To the person who complained about this station not having a bathroom, you must be a visitor. There are no bathrooms in the MTA subways, well there are but not for passengers (customers). Every NY'er knows to use the pottie before you enter the system. Besides do you really want to use the bathroom if a homeless people have taken up residence in one??? Ah no!! So stop complaining and stand clear of the closing doors.

This station is the east side hub for 10 different train Numbers/letters. Its not an intricate maze like CT, but you have to pay attention to where you are going. Recently, they installed a tech vending machine, which surprised me, since that hasn't happened before in any station in New York City. Relatively clean if folks don't keep throwing trash and causing track fires. This is your station if you have to stay on the East side to get to the Harlem Projects or towards the Battery. You can also catch the M60 at 125 going to LGA if you have to catch the next plane out.

This is a key station bringing together the 4, 5, 6, L, N, Q, R, and W trains where you can transfer, and is a great place to get off at approximately the middle of 14th street, which is a pretty good shopping district much less crowded than midtown. You would have a reasonably short walk to 6th Ave to the PATH station or transfer to the L train to take it to 6th ave. The station entrance is in the middle of Union Square park, which hosts special events including the Wintermarket.

Good enough as far as New York City subway stations go. That is, the Bosch-like scenes from rush hour are part of the appeal, it would seem. Typically service to this station is reliable since it is a major hub. Whether your punctually departed train will break-down in the tunnel, only the MTA’s gods can say. On a up-note, the station’s many buskers do help to lessen train-trapped commuters’ thoughts of homicide.

it was the location of the movie "the warriors of the night" in which the warriors clashed with the gang of "Punks, dressed in dungarees, striped sweaters and rollerskates on their feet, with a look reminiscent of the pop-rock band of Bay City Rollers , which had very little punk, a big battle in the public bards of this station (even if rebuilt in the Astoria Studios set in NY), the nerve hub of the Big Apple.

It's in a great location in Union Square, right next to the park and holiday market. It isn't the biggest subway in Manhattan though. It does its job of getting to the train, but it needs to improve their lighting, as it's a bit dark and spooky. Also, one of the machines to recharge isn't working properly. Overall as generous as I am. It does not deserve more than a 3 star rating.

A very large train station that lies under a majority of Union Square. There are elevators and escalators to access the platform. There's a lot of foot traffic but it's fairly easy to find all entrances and exits, with a station attendant on site. Unfortunately, as a little person, it's hard for me to see the attendant's window and they can't see me.

It is a central location for all kinds of shopping, restaurants, cafes, movie theaters, bookstores, antiques, galleries, educational institutions and more. Several subway lines stop here: the L, 4, 5, 6, Q, N and R. The stations subway exits/entrances go from 14th street near University place to 17th street and 4th avenue.

I believe, and this is my personal opinion, that every subway station should have decent bathroom/bathrooms. And this particular station definitely don't. I rather pay a dollar every time i will use the bathroom, as long as they will look like a place that you don't need to pray to get out alive with no unknown disease...

Well staffed and brightly lit subway station that happens to be a major hub. The platforms are generally clean and can SEEM a bit narrow during peak times. Extremely safe with cameras throughout monitored my the clerk and NYPD who have a mini precient within the station If my review helped, give me a thumbs up.

Great park. The farmers market and Hare Krishnas make it better. It had been getting a little crazy here lately. Between the PS5 Fiasco and seeing one guy fight two people a week apart and the cops just taking him to a hospital for a psych eval the SECOND TIME. Still a very cool place everyone should see.

This is a very good subway station. There are lots of transfers available, like the 4 5 6 N Q R and L trains. Although it is always crowded, there are usually enough trains to handle all the people. The performers are among the best of subway entertainment, so get to your train early and listen to them.

The train station here is so ungodly hot. I’m shocked that people don’t collapse from heat exhaustion here. MTA needs to step it up & modernize its subway system. There isn’t one day where I felt I could say that MTA is capable of maintaining the safety of its passengers, let alone the train system.

There's always something happening down there, it's pretty cool! Almost like another NYC attraction with dancers, music, carnival food (churros, popcorn and mango slices) live performances and mobile art galleries. Always a good time, if you mind the busy and crowded commuter aspect of it, lol.

One of my favorite spot in the city. The park offer a chill place to sit and people watch. Tons of restaurants including the chocolate land of Max Brenner. Burlington and SAW offers great deals for people who wants to shop on the budget. Theres also a movie theater for some movie buffs.

This is by far my favorite Subway Station. It's big & has every Train you need. It also has the best live entertainment of any Station in New York City. If I'm leaving my Apartment in the Bronx & heading to the City. 9 times out of 10 it's to Union Square Subway Station. I Love It....

Almost always full of people, this station consists of the 4/5/6/L/N/Q/R/W trains, all of which have very frequent train service. The Station is ADA compliant, EXCEPT for the 4/5/6 Train Platforms for various reasons. Also it gets VERY hot in the station during warmer months.

One of the busiest transportation hubs in downtown Manhattan, be prepared to be dance around performers and drummers, but it's kind of the essence of NYC. One of the best places to get anywhere else in the city, connecting the East Side to Brooklyn, Uptown and Downtown.

Union Square is like an oasis in NY, where you will find the most eclectic range of street performers. It's a great place for NewYorkers to pause before hopping on the subway or just chill, while in the city. Definitely ine of my favorite hubs in NYC.

I do not like being pressed up against the masses of people on subway platform. In a city with vast diversity, concepts of personal space and personal hygiene can be a little different. During morning rush, this place is an absolute, odiferous mess.

I like the stations that preserve part of their history and this one has remnants of the old station saved in bits and pieces here and there. There's also always someone performing inside this station - and most of the time they're pretty good

This train station is way too LONG. I don't mind a big station- I'm a fan of Stillwell, and Atlantic, and even 34th to a degree, but Union Square is just poorly laid-out. Also I got a summons here for open container once.

Way to crowded, especially when you are waiting for the 4 or 5, on top of being loud the Sharp curve on th 4,5, (6) and <6> Is loud and the station was the scene of a Subway Accedeint in 1995 that killed 5 people.

There are no ticket kiosks at this place as far as I can see. So you should come with your metro card loaded and ready. But at least there are restrooms here. I just think there should be at least 2 kiosks here.

That's the subway station. I get off to work and off from work to home. I like hanging out there after work and enjoying the city buildings. I see many people and some sing, some dance and most enjoy the park.

This station has many entrances but if you're looking for an elevator, you'll want to go to the Northeast corner of 14th Street and 4th Avenue. It's fairly clean compared to the other stations in the system.

Standard Metro stop except this one is noteworthy because there are bathrooms at the Northeast End of the Union Square Park during regular business hours. Also I wanted to upload some photos I took.

The most thorough cleaning detailed that I have witnessed during the pandemic. Despite of the budget deficit faced by the MTA, they are doing their best to bring safety and tranquility to the city.

Its a major train hub with many connections all over the greater NYC area. Many handicap elevators as well as entrances. No public bathrooms. Handicap or otherwise. Please hit like link.

By far the best way to get around New York City and the other boroughs. We take the subway from JRK Airport into Manhattan. 14th St is a very busy Station which is a huge underground .

Very big station and it seems like a lot of cool things are going on here. Worth getting out and checking out union square to probably see live music or some kind of pop up event.

Gotta Love this station. It's a constant reminder of NYC and all its dirty dirty memorabilia. Also it's my main wrk statiom, so for the most part I'm heree on the daily grind.

Union Square is big in summer time. In winter time, unfortunately, is a little dirty and depressive. Anyway, the NYC vibe is always there and always the cityscape is amazing

This station is pretty clean considering the volume of people that pass thru everyday. This is a major transfer point so it would always be crowded it is new york city.

Street artist shows, book stores, coffee shop, shoppings, gym ...you name it and it's there ....such a great place to hang out. Simple commute options from anywhere.

No matter what you do, you’ll end up taking the wrong staircase. Chances are that that staircase just takes you to another staircase back to where you started.

A huge station with a ton of exits, not all of which are entrances, and the crowds get unbearable. It is one of the best spots for subway performers though.

Union square elevator is located near 14 St halal food, across of the Best buy. A hidden treasure for people in need.

A very useful station, but the 456 platform is excruciating on hot summer days. Air circulation is mediocre at best.

The transfer from the Q to the L is terrifying, the platform is very narrow and it’s an accident waiting to happen

One of my favorite parks in NYC not for the park, but what's around it. They have everything.

It's not always the cleanest and in the summer it is one of the warmest but it is a main hub.
