I just wanted to share a few weeks ago I sat on the town hall meeting and even though we ran out of time and I couldn't get my answer over the phone, I called the Alderman's office with my concerns. My alley unfortunately is across from a business and because they have a large lot, someone is always constantly working on homes and throwing trash in that location. I also get a little nervous because the alley light was not working and I'm not sure where people are coming from dumping the items. So once I placed a call, I spoke with Maggie in the office and both of my concerns were addressed within a week! I know this may not always be the norm and I try my best not to send in too many requests, but to have both of my concerns addressed as well as receiving a follow up call from the superintendent that they would monitor the "dumping" because they have seen it occur before in that lot. Thanks Alderman O'Shea and your wonderful team for addressing my concerns!
I've had a service request in with the City (via the Chi311 website) for 88 days now, for a new garbage can out back. Called 311 yesterday, expressed that rats were getting into it, asked them if we could speed it up, and they said "You'll get it when you get it." Emailed the 19th Ward Service Office, and within 18 hours, a new garbage can was out back. Amazing!! Thank you, 19th Ward Service Office!!
We had an issue on our block with missing signs on west side of street for zoned parking. The ladies in the office were very helpful with resolving the matter and were very knowledgeable about the process. Dealing with the city can often be a tedious challenge, but I do have to give credit to the staff at the 19th ward office that dealt with this most professionally
Want to put out a hugh Thank You to Will & the 19th Ward personnel to assist me with the power outage at my house from the Storm yesterday. City Inspector came over earlier & took care of what he could do & gave me advice until ComEd can take care of my not having Electric until they come out this Saturday. THANK YOU! The tree in front of my father's house was breaking off and falling on our roof. My father called the aldermans office yesterday and talked to Marjorie about it. Today we woke up to them trimming the tree. We didn't expect for them to get to it so soon. Thank you Marjorie you are a God send.
Keep up the great work Alderman!
