This place has really opened my eyes when it comes to what my relationship with alcohol can be. Rather than settling for typical run-of-the-mill cocktails that I've been drinking since my early 20's just to catch a buzz, this place offers drinks made with so much love and meticulous thought, and it all ties into a theme, a story, or some kind of meaning. There's so much to get out of your experience here. The combinations of ingredients and flavors are so complex and unique in every single sip. The drink evolves the more you drink it. You take a sip and at first it can be sweet and yummy, then next minute it'll totally surprise you with a myriad of beautifully unexpected flavors (earthy, vegetal, tropical, funky, elemental, floral, perfume, mineral, etc) that you'd never think would pair with each other. It really is like liquid chemistry. And it takes a lot of hard work and dedication to be the kind of person to create this experience in a glass. You can have a drink that actually makes you think and feel awesome things outside the effects of the alcohol. The buzz you get is just a bonus compared to the journey each cocktail takes you on. I can actually have a much more satisfying experience with alcohol because of how these mixologists have taken it to a level I didn't think I'd get to enjoy. It actually inspires me to delve into the world of mixology on my own. You're not going to be familiar with 90% of the ingredients in their drinks. So be prepared for some things to be over your head. But that shows the level of research and experimentation these folks have gone through to bring you something beautiful. They provide you with a flavor profile of each cocktail so you know what you're getting into, which is really helpful. I feel like visual representations of the drinks on the menu really help me make better decisions when choosing drinks, so I highly recommend you look up pictures of the drinks on their website while you're browsing the menu here, especially if it's your first time. The last thing I'd like to add is that this place really does feel very inviting, not just because of the atmosphere, but because of the cocktail experience and how pleasant the staff is. It's just a good vibe here. Everyone is so nice, chill, and knowledgeable. They're also really flexible and they make it effortless for you. Scheduling and adjusting your reservation with their booking provider through their site is very easy. Give yourself at least an hour ahead of time to switch up your reservation if you know you're gonna be running late, and you can switch your spot with a push of a button through your confirmation email. I never really liked going to typical bars alone or having a drink or two by myself, but this place is a place I wouldn't hesitate to visit on my own. I could go here by myself any day of the week and never feel out of place or like something was missing. This place provides everything you need to have a good time, even if you don't have your buds with you. Even other guests are really nice to talk to because everyone is having such a good time. I really like this place a lot, and I'll definitely be a regular here when I get the time to break away from my super busy life. It's so much more worth it than going anywhere else. Inflation is up and everything is expensive. It seems like at a lot of places you don't get what you pay for these days. But here, I can confidently say the value of the experience far exceeds the price I pay, which makes me feel really good. I highly recommend this place! It's alotta fun and you'll definitely have a memorable experience.

Chef's Choice Charcuterie Board
I found this on social media and had to check it out. They Definitely did a great job hiding it because we weren’t sure we were at the right location at first. Definitely love the whole under ground hidden bar theme. The atmosphere was giving hidden underground garden, Alice In wonderland, some type of hidden oasis to me. So 5 stars for that. It’s not a big space very limited seating we had to make a reservation i believe you have to pay a deposit or fee in advance from what i remember and it goes towards your drinks. This was over a year ago so not sure if things have changed. There wasn’t any food but you could order like a premade charcuterie board. I wasn’t a fan of the board but it’s an option. The drinks. I’ll say you are mostly paying for the experience because the drinks were average cute but average. I specifically picked out a drink i saw on their instagram page and what i got was clearly not the same. It was supposed to be bright green and mine was yellow. The service was just okay definitely could have been better. I think the drinks were extremely overpriced and just ok. Again it’s more the hidden bar experience. I wish there was more interaction with the staff/bartenders making the drinks in front of you fun and making it entertaining but we did not get that experience. Drinks were made and served and that was that.

This place exceeded my expectations. One of the better bars I've been to. The atmosphere tranquil and has a heavy touch of magic and elegance. If you are having difficulty locating this place head to the Sip coffee shop on Indian school and it is located inside down the stairs. I chose to roll the dice and not make a reservation as I showed up right as it opened on a Sunday but it did start to fill up pretty quickly so can't guarantee you'll have the same luck. Better to go with a reservation if you can. The cocktail presentation was superb. Some of the better presentations for the current menu are "Tea with the Gods" and "Poseidon's message". The cocktails also tasted good as well. I'd recommend these. The service was great in my opinion. Server was friendly. The cocktails can take a while due to the presentation aspect but this place isn't meant for "grabbing a quick drink", it's an experience that's worth the wait in my opinion. If you just want a quick drink there are other, less refined, bars for that. Come here to appreciate the experience. There is automatic gratuity charged so just keep that in mind. Overall great place. Would definitely recommend and will be back.
Wow. By far the best experience we have EVER had at any bar establishment. First, you MUST sit up at the bar. Watching the skill and creativity these bartenders possess is such a treat and gave me such an appreciation for their craft. We ordered a few off their menu (all excellent) but then decided to try "dealers choice" and by simply giving just a few things we liked (citrus, lavender, etc.), Ethan (for sure the most gifted bartender I have ever met) created MAGIC. I will literally return to Phoenix just to try more of Ethan's incredible concoctions at this fun, funky, hidden little gem. One more note on their service, as we were leaving (already outside) I realized I somehow lost my mask so didn't have one for the Uber. My husband went inside to check, and Ethan checked in with him, and then proceeds to go outside to his own vehicle to retrieve fresh masks for each of us. UNBELIEVABLE. An experience we will never forget.
We made reservations and were sat right away. The space is extremely small and tables are extremely close to each. It’s a very cool vibe and beautifully decorated. We asked if we could sit at the bar (there were 4 empty seats) but we were told no because another party was doing to be seated there. No one ever came and the seats sat empty our entire visit. Our drinks were delicious and the service was good, our server was very sweet and knowledgeable about the menu and gave us some good suggestions. Our bill was about $150 (my husband and I each had 3 drinks) and that included the forced 20% gratuity (that really bothers me) It’s one of those places you go once to check it out, but it’s so overpriced and not really that welcoming of a space that you would ever really wanna go again. It was nice for a date night to do something different, but it’s a one and done.
By reservation only! . This little underground location was not what I was expecting. They had moving art on almost all the walls, which was relaxing. It was extreamly cozy and inviting down there. . The drink menue was definatly fun and choosing just one was not easy so everyone shared all the drinks with additionals being made. . The presentation of each handcrafted drink was super cool and there was not a bad one in the lot. . The excitement heard from each table around us as their drinks were being presented made the experience even more enjoyable. . Friendly service and awesome drinks made me want to go back for more. . No real food available just mixed nuts, mixed olives and a charcuterie board(which they were out of) so plan ahead and grab a bite before hand or not like I did. . Would definatley recommend and will be going back.
My friend and I made a reservation at 9:30pm, and arrived around 9:40 only to find out that the bar was closed already. One server is cleaning up everything and already put all the chairs on the table. We were told that they close “early” despite that the operating hour listed on google says they close at midnight. We were told by the server that we will receive a refund for our reservation, but the refund was never given back to us. When I dispute with the bank, 36 below said we were “no show” and refused to give a refund. Instead we were charged $52. This place is very dishonest, way overcharged and please just go across the street and visit other great bars.

Really cool place, great vibe and even better cocktails. Pretty sure my friend and I made it through all of them except one and they all were really good. However the best and my new goto will be the bourbon Utopia. This drink is not only a show but is one of the best cocktails I have ever had, bravo. I finished with the seed of innocence which is definitely a dessert in its own, but again well worth the niche. Only issue... I do have two, fake flowers and the lighting was off IMHO. At least the flower situation, with these prices and the whole exclusive thing it really was bummer, it would def elevate the experience. Small complaint, u will be back for that Utopia no cap.
We were initially a little disappointed because they sat us at the bar. I wish there was some way to choose a table when making the reservation. It ended up being cool because we conversed with the bartenders to learn more about the curation of the menu, drinks, etc. All of the bartenders were very sweet & knowledgeable. Every drink we tried was phenomenal! We also had the charcuterie board & that was delicious too. Just note there is a 20% mandatory gratuity fee. That’s typically what I tip anyway, but someone else may not like that. Drinks are a little bit pricey & I didn’t feel buzzed when I left, but it was worth it for the experience. We really enjoyed ourselves
The cocktails are very tasty and creative. The Genesis and Coco Arcadian were particularly fresh and made you feel as though you should be on a beach. If you don't mind mushrooms than definitely try Garden of Gypsies - the craftsmanship to pull that off successfully....wow. Seed of Innocence would have felt a bit too strong if it weren't for the cookie "dirt" - great one to share. I'm knocking a star because the non-bar chairs were not comfortable at all. Do yourself a favor and grab a spot at the bar. There were 3 savory and 1 sweet food option. The lighting is rubbish for photos, so just have expectations set there and enjoy the drinks and the excellent staff.
Such a cool place! I love the whole vibe and how it starts from the stairway leading down to the room. The drinks on the menu were so imaginative and whimsical which really added to the experience, not to mention they were delicious. My favorite drinks ended up being the ones I got by doing the "Dealer's Choice" option though where you tell the bartender what type of flavors you like and they completely customize a drink for you, it was fun being surprised each time and seeing what they would come up with. It would be an awesome place for a date or girls night, make sure you make reservations ahead of time though.
So, I need to edit my review (from 4 to 5 stars). My hubby has a thing for speakeasys. It was our first "date night" in 3-4 months and I surprised him with 2 venues: Undertow and 36 Below. Vastly different from each and while we enjoyed both, 36 Below is the one we still talk about to this day. We both agree these were the best drinks we've ever had. To find: go INTO Sip. Walk to center of their dining room, at the back is a stairwell leading down. Drinks were fabulous, bartender was attentive and engaged with everyone. Music was enjoyable and at a volume that still allowed for easy conversation.
36 Below is a great place to check out if you’re in the area. The cocktails were good and I love how trendy they look! The Genesis (with the matcha 36 on it) was very refreshing. The Seed of Innocence (the one that looks like dirt cake) is the perfect cocktail for those who like creamier style drinks! The service was a bit lacking, but it was busy the night we went. They do have a food menu as well, but I believe that is only available during the day. Definitely make a reservation if you plan on going on the weekend ☺️
It's downstairs from the coffee shop. We had to make a reservation & we were only allowed to be inside 1 hour and 30 min. We had to make a deposit to reserve. Once inside, it's a pretty small & cozy place, but it's awesome. Decorations and themes are amazing. The drinks we got all came in a cool presentation, which made us want to try a couple of different drinks. Everyone from the hostess to the bartenders were very friendly. It's pretty pricey but worth the experience
This was one of the coolest cocktail bars I have ever been to. They only do reservations of 2 people. The space is small, but packs a mighty punch. They don't serve food, but you can order a Charcuterie Board to have some nibbles. We went the day before Valentine's Day, so they were offering Chocolate covered strawberries. The Summer Solstice was by far my favorite and the drink presentations are AWESOME!! This concept is very different and I love it!!
We were very disappointed with the atmosphere and felt that the pictures online were not accurate. We found this in a travel blog and decided to try it but sad we did. Pleas don’t refer to it as a speak easy. Stay upstairs at sips. cheaper drinks and better atmosphere. They didn’t have food do to delivery issues. Don’t waste your money.

Fun experience. The theme was Halloween and decorations were fantastic! Drinks were incredibly interesting with fun presentations. They have drinks with macadamia rum which gives it a great nutty flavor! The reservations forced a charge so we had to drink way more than we would have and ended up being over $200 with forced tip for 3 people (3 rounds) The drinks pictured were dealer's choice and fruit of the vine.
Incredible gem of Phoenix. Drinks are cool. The service is attentive and sufficient. The waitresses are knowledgeable about the menu. The tables were cleaned and sanitized. On top of all that, A bartender named Jett played some really neat music. I would highly recommend taking a date here or even a small group to mingle. 5 stars

Descend the stairs of the Sip and travel to another land to try some super fun and crazy cool drinks. I think they change or rotate their menu every once in a while so there's an opportunity to get cool new things. I love the gimmick drinks. You can do dealers choice and get something totally custom and they seem excited to do that. Small place with minimal seating so reservations are encouraged.
It’s a cute place. Drinks are decent, for the price I was expecting something more grand. Gratitude is automatically added to your check… Atmosphere is chill, however, it is a bit claustrophobic. Tables feel extremely closed to one another you can almost accidentally touch the person sitting behind you. Overall it’s a decent place, not planning to visit anytime soon.
Very cute little bar, tucked away in an equally cute restaurant. The drinks are very aesthetically pleasing and instagrammable. Prices set quite high for the little bit of alcohol you’re provided. But a great spot to check out if you’re visiting AZ! Make sure you make a reservation in advance, this is not a bar that you can just walk into without notice.
What a fun find!!! We came here for a triple date night. And the drinks were beyond what I imagined! We ordered every single one on the menu!!! And loved them all! The presentation was unreal!!! I wish we could have stayed longer to enjoy ourselves some more but there is an hour and a half table limit. It’s definitely a place you must experience!
Oh my, oh my, oh my! What an experience this was! Finally had a belated Valentine’s date night and we were thoroughly satisfied. The drinks were delicious, the ambience was lively, and staff were friendly! Note to future guests, the drinks with the asterisks (*) on the menu are the ones with funky presentations. We got 4 drinks and all were yumm!
Ordered a charcuterie board and two drinks. Had an issue with a member of the staff, but after expressing my concerns, the owner contacted me and quickly resolved it. The menu has an excellent variety of drinks and they were delicious. Would visit again.

Well, it's very aesthetically pleasing. It's hidden in a coffee shop and gives speakeasy vibes. However, the service and drinks are not up to par. It took me around 30-40 minutes just to get service, and the drinks were pretty but not to my liking.

Super cute concept bar tucked away underneath sip. I ordered a desert oasis and my friend got the summer solstice. The staff was super friendly and sweet, the drinks were slightly gritty, I'd like to come back to try a few more. The one downside was the air vent that blew right on us and the noise level was a bit harsh and echo-y.
Fun spot. Great service. It's not as fun as the neighboring spot, century grand, but a fun starting point. Our bartender was awesome!!!! He was such an interesting and talented guy. Loved him. Drinks were truly delicious. Maybe we could have used a bit more for a serving for the price. Our drinks were mostly ice, but super yummy!!
The drinks are so cute and taste amazing! Very cool vibe! amazing for more intimate date a small group of friends. Small area I would not recommend larger groups unless you like sitting around the bar. The only think I can complain is that they did not have my table at my reservation time so my stay was cut 20 min short.
Underground bar, say what?! What a neat way to end the night. It's right next to The Grand and from outside, you're looking for the coffee shop. Walking down to 36 Below was such a treat. Staff was great and drink presentations were def unmatched. Even getting the bill, was a cute presentation. Can't wait to go back.
Good drinks but place is very much over hyped. Bartender was awesome but our server was just okay. They add a 25% gratuity so I feel like a level of service goes out the window when you’re guaranteed a good tip regardless of the service you give. Happy to cross it off my list but probably wouldn’t return.
What an intensely unique and fun vibe. Staff is fun and talkative. Drinks are amazeballs! I will definitely be a regular here given how cool and contemporary this place is. Much better than the Undertow was before it changed to this place. Order the Genesis cocktail. Comes in an awesome glass!!!
Small place, big vibes. It’s all about the experience. You come for the atmosphere and creatively presented drinks. True mixologist style with new drinks every 3 months. Not for large, bar hopping groups looking to get drunk. It is an intimate experience with the plus of “gram” worthy pictures.
The cocktails are fantastic and I mean truly fantastic. By far the best I've ever had in my life. They are creative in presentation and they are even better in taste. The concept and execution are done great and I would highly recommend getting out and setting up a date at 36 Below.
Adorable, quaint speakeasy underground. Follow the stairs to 36 Below! New menu on 4/11. Great cocktails with high end ingredients. Definitely a little pricy. $50 reservation fee goes towards the bill. Bar tender forgot to order our food and we reminded him again after 20+ min.
We had a reservation but when we got there they said there was a problem. We waited and waited until the manager came up and told us that the system had double booked us. Instead of just apologizing and telling us the issue, he wasted our time through a rambling explanation.
I really loved it here. The drinks were great and the bartenders were amazing. The music, the atmosphere!! Everything. The presentation in the drinks was very nice as well. The drink we had was very very strong but the bartender did give us a heads up. We had a great time!!!
Ask Jett to make you a drink. Seriously. He asked 2 questions and made me the best cocktail I have ever had. Turns out, some of the components he tried for the first time as he made it. This place rocks.

We enjoyed our visit to 36 Below! It’s located underneath Sip, and the atmosphere is very immersive (currently winter themed). It’s a small space, but didn’t feel too tight. My sister and I sat at the bar and the bartenders were great. They
This ain’t it tbh…online it seems like a trendy spot to hit up but such a disappointing experience. First off, moss wall is a bit musky as you walk downstairs. The space is very tight, not ideal for a date night. We felt very rushed by the
Been waiting a year to go... .was worth the wait. Had a treat time. Super cute and intimate. Drinks where all an experience and unique. Nuts where awesome charcuterie board was just okay. Server was great. Will be returning soon hopefully.
I absolutely love the private room at 36 Below!! I loved going before, but it was hard to go with more that 2-4 friends. So the private room is perfect! There is a minimum to reserve the room but we’ve always gone over because the drinks
Want a drink in a quaint, earthy, yet hipster bar? This is your place. It's like having a drink in an underground garden. Absolutely loved my drink called The Garden of Eden. The customer service was awesome and the vibe was everything.
My brother and cousin and I walked into this place at 4:30pm on Sunday on a whim after going to platform 18. We were pleasantly surprised. Bartender, Zack, is an awesome guy.. Hes super chill and is really devoted to his craft. He even
Love this spot!!! From the moment you walk down the stairs you are transported to another land. The decor allows you to forget about all the day to day and takes you on a social and drinking escape!!! The drinks are well thought out,
Cozy, elegant atmosphere, knowledgeable bartenders, interesting cocktail menu and the star of the experience is the presentation. Brilliantly artistic cocktail presentation making it an experience, enhancing the delicious concoctions.

Came with some friends to celebrate May Day and had a lovely time. Made a reservation beforehand. The staff were very friendly and attentive and the drinks and food were delicious. Expensive but a great experience :)
The drinks were really good. I was actually expecting a little bit more. It looked better on Instagram than it did in person. It’s a nice intimate place to have cocktails. I would return we did not have any food.
One of the most unique craft cocktail bars in Phoenix. Step into a magical garden of Eden inspired bar and let the drinks transport you. Each drink highlights a unique and playful mix of ingredients.
The best part of this bar is probably the presentation. All the drinks looks very cool and are pretty good. Prices are lower than the cocktail bars next door but the drinks also seem a bit smaller.
This super cute hidden gem is in a basement of a coffee shop just so cute & the drinks were amazing. The bartenders were so nice and helpful. Something definitely worth expecting
Delicious and engaging. Staff was knowledgeable about their beverages, environment was unique, and most importantly, drinks were strong. They need to answer their phone though.
I thoroughly enjoyed my time there. Thw drinks were perfect and I love the atmosphere and decor. I was mesmerized by the motion pictures on the wall.
Really cool "underground" bar. Prices are steep but you're really paying for the atmosphere and creative drinks you can't get elsewhere.

Drinks were good , but kind of pricey. We had 4 drinks which were a total of $125 which included a set tip.
