I finally found this outdoor lot far away from my destination, after everywhere else was full. The machine didn't respond the first few times I tried it, and did not recognize my credit card I used elsewhere the same day. I was able to finally enter by paying for a full price full day ticket ($20) with a different credit card after a long line of cars built up behind me going into the street. Upon leaving about 9 hours later, my ticket had been invalidated and I could not exit. I tried two different exits and finally pushed the help button. I was told the only way to exit was to put in my credit card again for another ticket and that I would not be charged but if I was to email for a refund. I have emailed 3 times and called and left a voicemail. I still haven't received a refund after 2 months and the only response I received was a seemingly automated email response saying I wasn't eligible for a refund because I had 2 entry tickets - although they issued the 2nd one so I could exit which I explained. I paid $40 for event parking for 9 hours half a mile from my destination. Extremely frustrated.
If you have any choice, pick somewhere else to park. The monthly price has gone up $9 over the last couple of years. The pay machines for people paying with credit cards used to be really slow, taking up to 2 minutes for a single transaction. Recently, I timed it taking one person 5 minutes to get in using a credit card. Even with my monthly pass (which used to take about 2 seconds to open the gate), it takes about 5 to 10 seconds for the gate to open. Not a big deal when I'm just waiting for the gate to open. When it's busy and I'm the 5th person in line? Forget about it.
This is a great surface parking lot for a decent price. Of course it's not a garage and it definitely isn't centrally located in down town. However if you want a bit cheaper day parking and are willing to walk a little bit further (the Capitol and church were well within walking distance still) than I recommend this parking spot. It is my personal favorite spot to park when out on an adventure in downtown SLC.
Randomly increased their price by 20% to $10. This lot use to be known as the cheaper option for folks willing to take a walk. At $10 the difference between most of the surrounding building "private" lots owned by ABM isn't worth wasting time on the walk anymore. Juuuust saying.
Does anyone else find the existence of a parking lot of this size in the very center of the city absurd? What a waste of valuable space that could be used for so many other purposes for the betterment of the community, like additional green space, housing, or gathering places.
This parking lot takes up so much valuable space in the city. There is really no need for every commuter to drive 2 ton metal boxes into the middle of downtown
The new parking system is awful, I understand that I have to tap in and tap out, but it does not work 1/2 of the time. Same for my other coworkers.
Continued to increase monthly cost. $78 a month to now $85 a month. Will be looking to discontinue. They don't even fill 30% of the lot.
Good rates and convenient parking for most of the major venues in the area.
Great location and lots of space. As of 5/2021, 67 a month. 8 or 9 daily.
Nobody answered, and then I never received a call back. Not cool
