I've had two very distressing experiences with the two owners of this 7- Eleven at Mitcham Rd. Donvale. Earlier this year I went in with my 12 year old daughter. We were buying some doughnuts. When we went up to the front counter the woman there asked me what was in my handbag. I was confused and didn't know what to say. She was pointing to papers that I had in my bag and asked me to take them out and show her. I put the papers and the contents of my handbag on the counter as she asked and I realized that she was accusing me of stealing. After she realized her mistake she did not even apologize or say anything to me at all. The whole time she spoke very rudely to me. I didnt say anything either as I was so upset. I was very shocked and humiliated to be accused of stealing and asked to empty my handbag on the counter in front of the other people in shop and my daughter, who was also very upset. I was especially upset because she did not apologise to me when she realised she had falsely accused me. After that every time I went into that store I felt very uncomfortable if she was serving. Today I went into the shop again with my 14 year old daughter because she wanted a Slurpee. She got a Slurpee and I got an ice cream from the fridge. I didn't have my glasses on so I pulled some reading glasses out of my handbag (which I had bought early that day at a discount store), and put them on so that I could read the different sorts of Magnums and make a choice about which one to buy. I came up to the counter and was paying for the ice cream and Slurpee when the man who was serving said something to me. At first I didn't understand what he was saying, and then I realized he was saying "glasses." I will still confused but he kept on saying this and asking me if the glasses (which I now had on top of my head) were from his shop. I said no and he asked me two more times to which I replied no again each time. Then he walked out from behind the counter to check where the glasses were kept before walking back. Again there was no apology from him. This time I told him that I was very unhappy about being treated this way and left the store with my daughter, who also felt emarassed and mortified. This has never in my life happened to me at any other store I have been into. I again felt humiliated in front of the customers and my daughter of being accused of stealing. I now feel like it is impossible for me to go back to that shop which is my local 7-Eleven. I feel traumatised by the experience and by being treated in such a way twice in the same shop and being given no apology for the errors that were made and the way I was treated. I understand that small business owners need to be concerned about theft and anyone can make a mistake but the fact that I was publicly humiliated and spoken to so rudely and in such a confrontational way by both of them (especially by the woman in the first instance) and given no apology for being treated that way is not okay. I'm also wondering how many other people have had an experience like this and just not reported it?

Came up to the worst customer service ever at 7 eleven Donvale just then . Came up to fill up as I normally do and two Indian males were extremely rude to me consisting that the pump was pre paid on the microphone . When I went in and paid they were extremely rude about it then another customer comes along and they all of sudden decide it’s not prepaid anymore and say “oh it’s because he’s a regular” I’m a black male and it’s the first time in Australia I ever felt racially profiled. They did it because of my skin colour and because it was at night and couldn’t even justify a real excuse . My girlfriend even confronted them and as soon as we left we saw them laughing and smiling. They should be fired. Horrible human beings .

Worst 7-11 I have ever been too!!! Would not even rate them 1 star Myself and a few other students come here regularly as it is close to our class and the way we are treated is appalling. The lady that works there follows us around the store like we are thieves and is extremely rude. One time I was making a coffee and shook some of the chocolate powder on top of it and she grabbed my arm and snatched it off me telling me I put too much on.... The fact that we come in pretty much everyday and make them a fair bit of money you would think they would show a little more respect towards us. Ps: DO NOT BUY A PIE OR SAUSAGE ROLL AS THE LADY PUTS THEM IN THE MICROWAVE AND THEY ARE SOGGY AS ANYTHING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

A extremely rude mid 20's aged roughly, Indian bloke. I'm usually the friendliest person around but this fellow made sooooo angry I've now decide to make it a personal mission of mine to write as many bad reviews on and about the poor service this lame excuse for a servo has in Australia for our standard friendly Aussie type of greeting and pleasant ways, I'm a normal 80kg white mid 30's fella to so I definitely didn't intimidate this moron of a excuse for a person we'd want living in our local community, could only imagine if I was a senior citizen what could have happened!!!

Worst retail experience ever! I just filled up the Ute while wife was inside getting the coffee When I was finished the man stopped my wife from making coffee and demanded she pay for the petrol very rudely! Accused us of stealing petrol!! We have lived in donvale for almost a year now and I go there every day or second day!! How dare you treat my wife like that and then laugh at the way you treated her!!! I live 2 streets away and will not be coming back!!!

I'm not surprised by the number of negative customer service reviews of this 7-11. The customer service I received at this place was very rude and beyond appalling. Not only do they not listen to their customers, but they also wrongfully forced and double charged me for a 1x faulty iced coffee product. I will never be coming back to fill up petrol or buy any of their products again. Steer clear of this place!!!

Went to get $1 coffee x 2, Asian man in cashier, very grumpy, smiles must cost extra, been there 3 separate times and just my luck to run into same grumpy man each time. will not bother going back there.

Petrol price is good but not competitive to other 7/11. Poor customer service at the station. Attendants can be rude and are not helpful. The car wash is a good plus though.
