It's definitely worth taking a scenic drive to this cafe for their excellent coffee. My family and I also highly recommend trying the Lentil & chickpea pasties, they are a must-have! Additionally, the black olive sourdough bread is exceptional. Overall, this cafe is a must-visit.

Tried this place after noticing a lot of people queuing on Saturday. Sad to say it was disappointing, coffee was not at all to my liking. Although they claim it's all organic my sausage roll tasted more home made rather than organic. It's pretty expensive to start with, to top it off the credit card payment surcharge which I only now notice on my statement is over 5% not sure if this was due to it being a weekend or something else but they failed to tell me about it.

Love this beautiful, rustic Bakery. They didn’t have the sourdough apple and sultana buns we’d traveled for as I’ve had them before from Petties, being one of my favourite sweet treats. Though we had their pork and chicken sausage rolls which were probably the best sausage rolls we’ve ever had. Their brownie, berry muffin and Olive loaf are also very moreish! Amazing goodies!

$49.00 for 2 Chicken and Pork sausage rolls, a Cauliflower pastie and a gingerbread man!!!! I am a big supporter of the small locals, but when they gouge harder than the megacorps, no thanks. Pastries were far too reliant on herbs and gingerbread almost broke my teeth. I so wanted this to be great food...it wasn't.

What a wonderful range of Sourdough bread, it's one of the only places I can get sourdough dark rye in Melbourne. :) The carrot cake and macadamia white chocolate cookies are scrumptious! If you are off to the St Andrew's Market, definitely pop over the road and grab yourself a treat.

Small. Well hidden, tiny view of baking skulduggery inside but what a brilliant pastry/vegetable/cheese bake they do. Brilliant! Go there and find them and buy one, then perhaps just relax. Very nice team and lots of care going into their loaves and bakes. It's just well hid …

The best bakery I've visited in Victoria..the bread is the real Organic Sourdough and quite frankly never had a tastier and healthier bread in Melbourne. Also love the pastries and croissants...we feel lucky to live in Diamond Creek and can visit the bakery on a regular basis...

Been here a couple of times and the food and coffee was great! Today (Thursday 13/4/23 a.m.), though, I turned up to order a coffee and an almond croissant. No staff member or owner in sight. Waited, waited, waited, rang the bell, still waited. Gave up and left. :-(

Been visiting this bakery for several years now. It’s a very expensive experience on a regular weekend compared to other cafes, and the facilities are...let’s say, rustic. But yesterday Easter Saturday the “expensive” reached another level.

Travellling to kinglake today for lunch we came across this quaint little town St.Andrews. Stopping to have a look found the bakery tucked in down a little lane. Beautiful bread, pies and food. Well worth a look .

Amazing food! Incredible croissants, bagets, olive bread and no meat sausage rolls. If you want to go cheap this place isn't for you. But if you want the best bread of your life, you should visit A Local Baker.

BYO cup to save 50 cents but judging by the coffee go elsewhere. The coffees also took 30 plus minutes, had the wrong sugars and were smaller than ordered and burnt. It seems their cakes are good.

Superb sourdough bread baked in an elemental manner, enriched by wild yeasts and a passion for baking. So magnificent I applied for a job there and now work there there when ever I'm required.

  • Chris Hostettler

Best bread, croissants and more delicious bakery far around , at least for those who like European real bread and not American style rubbish which contains more air than substance . …

  • Adam Lyttle

Great little place for a coffee, cake and lunch. Overlooking beautiful vista's of St Andrews. Plenty if space for the kids to run around while the parents enjoy a delicious coffee.

  • Rebekah Jardine

The sourdough from this bakery is out of this world! Great little play area and OMG sticky date pudding delicious! Well worth a visit after a St Andrew’s Saturday market shop.

I removed my first review as the owner of the bakery was very prompt in returning a call and was happy to refund me for my food and I'm very appreciative of that service.
