I tried for a week and a half to get ahold of this place. For that week and half, every day, I would at LEAST call twice at different times when they were open. Below was the responses I recieved: 1. A woman on the first who was helpful. She told me they only had one day this month open, I said okay let me check with my boss so I can get work pushed back a couples hours to make the hair appt. I would call right back within the hour. She said okay. I got work pushed back and attempted to call back 40 mins later. They were still open. No answer. I called back every other hour they were open that day. Still no answer. 2. A man on the third day. I said, 'Hey I'm just calling to make an appointment for - - day. I heard that was when you had an opening this month?.. " He replied," um can you call back later?" I was a bit taken aback, but I said," okay when would be a good time to call?" He replied, "yes later." Then he hung up the phone before I even had the chance to ask again. I tried calling again twice before they closed this day. That was it. For a week and a half, those were the ONLY responses. I took it upon myself to also attempt requesting to book a time online. No response. I know this is a busy time of year but honestly. I chose this place because it was so highly suggested, so I was waiting. I left messages. If no one seriously has the time to answer the phone, maybe you should hire more people. I'm just really dissapointed.

I can see at least 7 other one star reviews in the last couple of months and I am adding mine. The hairdressing services might be fine. I don't know as like other disgruntled customers I never got that far. It is the business practices surrounding vouchers that is highly suspect, objectionable, time consuming and stressful. One could read this as one disgruntled customer, but as I read through the reviews I find I am not alone. When I made a booking for my voucher I could not get in for months. I didn't have a problem with that as such can be expected. Delia asked me to send her the voucher which I did. A number of times as she kept on losing it. This was against the instructions on the voucher which only asks that you to phone and give your voucher number. When I finally arrived for the appointment, she yet again asked me for the voucher as she couldn't open the link on her phone. When I produced it on my phone she said it expired yesterday. She had booked the appointment for that date I had contacted her within the time frame. Totally sick of the stress of dealing with this business I didn't argue and just walked out. Reviews like mine and the many others written on this business should be taken seriously. I lost my money and my time in dealing with this business. If you are reading this don't buy the voucher and don't bother using these services.

A first timer at this salon and used a voucher to get hair cut and colour. As a small business owner, can applaud the exceptional job Della ran this salon and my hair looks great and is loving the new look!! There is justice needs to be said in regards a comment made by a millennial, whom mentioned making an appointment a month ago in advanced and did not mentioned she “Cancelled” then suggest she had booked another day, where there was no confirmation msg after booking from Della, which i got. It was obsurd she started bursting into tears because she couldn’t get a hair cut, it was as easy making another appointment to get her hair done, however she demands to get her money back from Della, where she purchased through as an online third party provider voucher. This millennial generation unable to communicate as one, but making awful comments through social media are their only great skill.

Not recommended - I booked in for an appointment here three weeks ago but when I turned up today they said they had no record of the appointment and that I must have made a mistake. I actually remember specifically when I booked the appointment that they said they had no weekend appointments until the first weekend in feb (which is why I took that spot!). Very disappointed as I was getting my hair done for a special occasion. I totally understand that mistakes happen - it’s how they dealt with it that was not ok - What infuriated me more was that the lady was insistent that it couldn’t have been her mistake. They didn’t even offer me another time to come back for anther appointment (which would usually be the first thing a good hairdresser would do). Need to learn a lesson or two in appropriate customer service.

I have had "many" hairdresser since 1983 till now. Most of those experiences were disastrous. Naturally, I was very nervous trying yet another hairdresser. I am now officially in love with the staff at Bouquet & Garter. From the moment I walked in, I felt like I was going to experience something different. They asked many questions to find out exactly how I like my hair and then helped create a style that I am completely happy with. The whole experience was different, from being offered a selection of beverages upon arrival to the most comfortable basin chairs ever. Relaxing scalp massage during my washing stage as well. Walking out after my beautiful colour, cut and blow wave, I felt nothing less then Queen of the Day!!! I look forward to every visit. Thank you so much!!

I love Della’s..... A Little Hair Affair. I’ve had my hair done here now four times, each time I’ve walked away very very happy and might I say a little bit glamorous! This time Della suggested keratin for my hair, as I have fine hair and a lot of it which is difficult to control. I cannot believe I haven’t had this done before. My hair is so much more structured and in control. It’s like a coating of protein my hair feels like silk and sits exactly where I want it to. Thank you so much Della what a great suggestion. I drive from Middle Park to Fitzroy to have Della do my hair, her salon is so professional, her family are incredibly kind. The prices are really reasonable and my hair looks fabulous..... thank you very much A little hair affair ....see you soon

Didn't even make it in the door. Friday I booked the appointment for a cut and blow wave, using a cut/colour/blow-wave voucher I had been given as a gift. Never once was I asked for the voucher code excepted for 9:30PM the night before. As I was out and did not it have on me, I did not respond. 11.07PM another text advising that my appointment has been cancelled. Expressing my disappointment with the pour customer service, I could provide the number when I got home or at my appointment. Her sassy response advising how important her time is, she gave me until 12AM to give the voucher. The text was received at 11.52PM. Dellas texts express her value for customer service. Such a shame when the local businesses chase away their local customers.

Do NOT purchase a Groupon for this place - you won't ever be able to use it as they are booked up for over 3 months (longer than the voucher is valid for) and if you want a refund, Groupon need an email from the vendor to say that you haven't used your voucher. After so many phone calls and emails, I never heard back from A Little Hair Affair to get this email from them. Groupon couldn't get in touch with them either so thankfully they have said they can refund this for me but at this stage will only give me Groupon credit. Not sure if A Little Hair Affair over exerted themselves with Groupon and couldn't handle the response but there should have still been some form of customer service...

Seriously amazing, have been seeing Della for years and this week my new colour is her Insta profile - have had lots of different kinds of colour over the years, most recently 2 step colour correction (from a misadventure overseas) with permanent colour, a break then balayage, plus keratin treatments every year. She & Jamie always focus on keeping the condition of your hair tip-top and advise you accordingly. I’m newly addicted to the keratin serum, as my hair is thick & wavy. So glad I discovered them 4+ years ago - and never been disappointed, always compliments from friends and randoms on the street.

Avoid Della at all times,she is a scammer I purchased a Groupon in March and she said the only appointment she had was May 12 th, I called to confirm that she would be open on Mother’s Day and she confirmed my appointment, then the day before my appointment she sent me a message saying that her contact with Groupon was over and that she would not be able to do my hair, I went to Groupon and saw that she had redeemed my Groupon the day after I made my appointment, she said that I had to send her a photo of my Groupon to hold appointment, I have been in contact with Groupon and reported her for fraud

Purchased a Groupon coupon for a full head of foils & cut so really wasn't expecting too much. I'm thrilled to say the service provided by Della & her husband was outstanding. Della took the time to find out what I wanted & was so patient in putting the many foils required. This is a change from many other hairdressers who just want to get you in & out as quickly as possible. The colour & cut far exceeded my expectations & I couldn't be happier. If you need any type of hair service make an appointment with Della, you won't be disappointed. Thank you again Della, I look forward to my next visit.

Della and Jamie are a wonderful team who do a fantastic job every single time. I booked in just after lockdown for a much needed hair cut and balayage and left feeling like a princess. I felt like Della really listened to what I wanted and her professional suggestions lead to a finished product which I was so happy with. She really takes the time to get to know your hair and consider how to get the best possible results. My balayage is natural and flawless - I couldn’t be happier! They refused to accept a scoopon I bought and also refused to refund on the fickle basis of the length of hair. They state not available for "extra long" so surely with reasonable doubt that is for below chest level? Apparently not! Its also for above chest!!?? What a terrible experience and a waste of time dealing with both Scoopon and Della. I'm going to tell everyone we know what a terrible experience this has been. Below 1 star if it were possible!

booked a month and a half in advance and then the hairdresser who I spoke to on the phone claimed I had never talked to her or made an appointment, was left waiting for over half an hour for the lady to treat me like a child and argue with me Infront of a customer. She clearly has no respect for her clients and I cannot believe this foul level of service. I will never come back here and I am letting others know to be wary. TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE.

I went for the first time the other day, having bought a voucher a while ago. Dela was very helpful in fitting me in, late on a weekday. I almost felt sorry that I had the shop to myself and was getting all the attention! Dela did a wonderful job - I love my new hairstyle - and she was so friendly. I almost purchased a Groupon deal for this place, luckily I thought I’ll ring the number and see if they have any appointments on Saturday. So I rang the number and no one answered, tried the number again next day no one answered. Sent them a msg on fb no reply, emailed them no reply. Sent a text to a mobile number they had on the page. No reply. I’m soo glad I didn’t purchase the Groupon voucher. I’d stay away from them.

Bought a Groupon voucher and my expectations were definitely surpassed. Della did an amazing job and was so lovely. She cut my hair exactly how I wanted and did such a thorough job cutting, washing and styling it without rushing at all, and was very gentle too. She is busy and hardworking so it might take a few calls to get through, but it is totally worth it. I will definitely be back again.

Got my hair cut, coloured and styled at ‘ALHA’ for the first time today. Della and her husband are lovely, professional and the salon is nice and tidy. Happy with the end result (although gotta wait for the ash/blue toner to fade) and great value for money. Based on this experience I will be back and would recommend.

The new owner is such a lovely lady, she has done a great job taking over the salon. The salon is always clean, staff are friendly, complimentary tea and coffee plus the prices are very reasonable. I always leave extremely happy with my hair, no complaints what so ever!
