Great bar in Asakusa, the night before i accidentally went in the pig themed restaurant on the floor below, quickly realised my error but stayed and still managed to have a brilliant night with a Japanese chap who took me on the town at his expense! (I'm counting this as part of the 5 star count for A.S.A.B- as soon as beerable) The following night i made it to A.S.A.B., the host is a top fellow and everyone is super friendly, i spent some time chatting with literally the tallest Japanese dude (think Jaws from the Bond movies) who was a massive country music fan, and i mentioned to the owner about the Gaelic sport of hurling, which he seemed fairly stoked to hear about. Anyway, Tokyo can be a bit intimidating (if you are on your own and have no Japanese language and are jetlagged to fuuuuu) but this gaff is highly reccomended if you are in the Asakusa area :)

Like everyone is saying, the owner is indeed super friendly, and is great at speaking English! I went on a whim based on reviews I had read, and I was not disappointed in the slightest. It’s open super late, it's in a great neighborhood, and I had good chats with a lot of both foreigners and locals. If you’re looking for a chill bar to go to in Tokyo, A.S.A.B. is the best place. Bonus points for the samurai-sized beer!!! I’ll definitely be coming by every time I go to Tokyo. See ya then!!

Wonderful little bar in Asakusa. Yorichiro is able to provide a very laid back and calming atmosphere, and can speak english very well. I was able to meet many nice locals here, as well as other foreigners who I was able to share nice conversations with. The drinks are delicious, and I would definitely recommend coming here if you’re up late in Asakusa.

The Best Sport Bar in Asakusa by far. The owner used to be the manager at Samurai Cafe and that place closed down years ago and thank God He opened his own place because it was badly needed. The service is 10 stars and the drinks and food are also top notch. Must go there if you're in Tokyo and especially if you are staying in Asakusa.

Ryuu is an absolute legend, any man worth a grain of salt ought to visit this fine establishment. He singlehandedly made my japan trip with a great selection of scotch and even the odd cheeky VB. それで過ごした時間は本当に幸せだったんだ (^o^) Will inevitably return for more, cheers mate!

This is a mildly grungy second-floor Western-style bar that seems to be catering to the expat/sports crowd. Nothing really exceptional going on up here, but if you're in Asakusa and looking for that sort of thing, they've got it here for you.

Great bar. Became our local during a 2 week stay in Asakusa for my 30th birthday. Do yourself a favour and order a Samurai beer, talk to the owner and locals and you'll enjoy yourself.

They are OK with foreigners, but the cocktails are weak and they allow smoking in the bar which I don't think is legal anymore.

I've been talking with the owner and some locals all night. Learned quite a bit of Japanese as well. Time went by really fast, the first time I glanced at my watch was around 6 am …

Yu is very personable and friendly. His patrons were also kind. He speaks very good English as well. Definitely recommend. He has a samurai size glass which is fun too.

Very unique drinks, tried the plum sour Shochu and sweet plum brandy, which were both amazing. Bartender/owner was very polite. Reasonable prices. Will go again!

Extremely friendly owner. Very open to foreigners. It's a small and intimate place serving drinks for decent prices.

Lovely vibe. Reasonable prices. You are allowed to smoke inside so beware if you’re a non smoker. Would recommend!
