A great place to shop with wide, clean and clear isles and clearly marked sections with competitively priced items vs. the majors, especially on staples and skincare products. Check their frozen goods section for frozen goods rarely found elsewhere, including spiced chicken wings, heat and eat vegie bakes, Greek Spanikoptia, and more. Weekly specials are a highlight and often a steal if you can nab them before they go (limited stock, get in early and check their online weekly specials stock checker (google it) FMI and download their Apps (search Aldi on your App store) before you shop to help plan ahead!). Byo bags (single-use plastic bags are banned as of 01-JUNE-2022), buy a reusable heshan one or use a box (some supplied, whilst stocks last) and recycle ♻️ / reuse your old ones + buy 2 x trolley tokens (one to use, one as a back up ) vs coins on their trollies in-store. Alcohol is sold at limited stores only (check the app/online for the nearest to you + trade hours). Can get quite busy here + long lines (but usually lightening quick service) at checkout, so if you plan ahead and get in/out, use common sense/curtsey and a bit of polite patience, you should not have too many hassles shopping here. Highly, highly recommended.
Braking Trading Laws. In relation to searching customers personal bags. Staff demand beyond reasonable request to open back packs, even very small ones. And when the customer objects, some of Aldi staff threaten to ban that customer from coming to their store. Even when one has been shopping there for no less than 10 years, lives locally, and has never stolen a thing for 60 years. If Aldi wants to make money in our home area, they need to respect local people, uphold the law, not break it. Customers are protected by law to refuse unreasonable shop searches, and if they refuse they cannot be banned from shops. Certainly the law protects everyone, but Aldi needs to do more: Educate their staff, respect customers, and take all these issues seriously, especially when it has been brought to their attention previously and a number of times. So far, according to my own experience, Aldi has just ignored these legal and rights issues. I wonder: what would it take for Aldi to wake up? With respect Ross Z.
Just had drama at the counter register. I was doing refund and at the same time I bought chicken schnitzel at counter register. The staff told me that I need to go to register for refund before I buy something else. I said sorry, I didn't know about it because none staffs told me every time I do refund at Aldi and I always do same thing and I never have a problem. With the loud tone, She said this is our policy, I need to tell you and you must follow , and I said ok I understand and thank you for letting me know. After that she keep telling me the same words about the policy and she told me to STEP BACK from the counter DON'T TOUCH ANYTHING!!! and she said gonna call manager. I asked her why I need to facing with the manager? I don't have a problem, and what's wrong with you? She said "because you have problem with me and manager need to check your stuffs "!!! Xiexie women, for your attitude and makes the whole people at Aldi staring at me. Thank you manager for your help.
Trolley return system for Aldi trolleys at Marrickville Metro is painful. You take the trolley up to your car, then try to find a trolley bay in the carpark where you can lock the trolley and get your token back- good luck with that, people put their trolleys everywhere and you can sometimes find yourself wandering the whole carpark in the rain to latch your trolley to another Aldi one- or you go back down the travelator to return your trolley to the store. The packeted lettuce mixes are rubbish, they last 5 minutes in the fridge. Trying to navigate yourself through the store is painful as traffic is generally in one direction so turning around if you’ve forgotten something gets on people’s nerves. Aldi bread is horrible, it falls apart and tastes bland. The tinned tuna is also poor. This store decides it’s ok during peak hours to put out their pallets and pack shelves, causing congestion and havoc.
Aldi is a good store and we shop here once or twice a week. The only problems I have had are with the staff. I remember the first time I went to Aldi I had no idea that you couldn't have boxes on the belt, so when it was my turn the Indian guy sitting behind the cash register just grabbed my box and turned it upside down (food went everywhere) then he said "No boxes on the belt" and I said "You could of told me before you did that" and he went "No boxes on the belt". Another time I witnessed the shelf stacker who was sporting slicked back hair and a long beard to walk over to an elderly couple and snatch a box out of their hands and walk off with it. (From what I could see the box had 1-2 items left) but he could of waited for them to take it out first without snatching it from them.
Unfortunately, some time ago Aldi advertised some blank dvd disks on a Thursday afternoon. I went to the store in Marrickville to be told that I could not purchase them until Friday morning. I went back from my then home in North Sydney and arrived at 9.05am Friday morning, to be told that they had sold out. As the store had been open for 5 minutes, I found this unbelievable and told the assistant that this was illegal as NSW law says that unless noted in the add, you must have enough stock for 3 days normal trading. I will never set foot in an Aldi store again and have told all my friends about the shady dealings that Aldi carry out.
I recently had a disappointing experience with the purchase at the Aldi Marrickville store this past Saturday. I bought chicken thighs and meat, both of which had an expiration date at the end of the month. However, to my dismay, they spoiled before their indicated expiration date and the smell was so overpowering that we had no choice but to dispose of the food. This incident has left me frustrated and dissatisfied with the quality of the products I received. I expect the items I purchase to meet the specified freshness standards, and unfortunately, this was not the case.
Great store but very small. Aisle are too small for the amount of people walking through especially with trollies. Also too many people at check out lines with not enough staff. It takes a while to get through as the cashiers go to fast that customers cannot keep up. Over persistent with bag checking as they go through everything on you receipt from other stores instead of believing that your bags full of groceries are from woolworths.
Easy to get to, although parking can be somewhat fraught at times. Later in the day, like now, is optimal. Many businesses have closed, or are in the process of closing, so moving around, getting served is pretty painless. Some checkout queues are a little longer, but still move reasonably well. Always have the opportunity to converse with those around you. Now sitting with a coffee and a book for a breather before heading on my way.
Been here a lot of time, Aldi always win heart for their cheap and quality products, that's why I hope there will be more Aldi near my apartment, luckily this one is not that far. The problem with this Aldi is the closing time is too early for me, and the items is not as complete as Broadway Aldi. Other than that nothing I can complaint about Aldi and their products, keep the price and quality pushed for customer in Australia.
Where's the stock. Never got any stock on the shelf s. You can't buy staples but the rubbish they sell in the middle isle's is always full. Don't call your self a supermarket because your more like a variety shop with some scattered supermarket items on the outside of its store. Don't be in a hurry as well takes ages to get through the checkouts. I constantly have to line up just to buy a few items if there in stock .
Aldi has lost it. Used to be cheaper than Woolies and Coles but there are now many examples of where they're even more expensive. Lines are long, staff seem unhappy which is most likely due to the pressure of impossibly high expectations over the long term. Where you would once see staff as regulars, there now seems to be a high turnover. Miss the old Aldi where the prices were fair and the service was quick.
This Aldi Store doesn't replenish the merchandise in time. Last week checked product A, B, C (Certain Pizza & ice-cream) are not on display, a week later, the same products that I am after are still not on display. Gave people an impression that they do not fill up the planogram or maybe they simply don't care at all. I always have to do another round of shopping at other places.
Decent place, fairly well stocked but they run out of things fast. The store itself is a crammed tight place that is usually full with allot of customers. Between kids running around, old ladies blocking of sections and clueless shoppers there isn't much in the way of shopping, until you run into the crammed aisles. Overall this store feels like a busy day inside a traffic jam.
I love Aldi in general so Marrickville Aldi delivers. I do like that there is always plenty of stock for special buy items. Staff are reasonable with scanning so I don't feel rushed. I recommend NOT using their trolleys though. I ended up having to walk mine all the way back to the store to get my token back. Will continue shopping here - with a different trolley!
Don't know why it says on Google that this place has been relocated or closed - it's still there and still good. Good quality products, wide range (this store is bigger than e.g. Edgecliff Aldi), handy location as it is part of Marrickville Metro. They could work on the opening times and extend them... Cheaper than any other supermarket!
Staff extremely friendly and helpful and know their product range. You don't have a long wait at the checkouts they're quite quick and express you through without any hassles. The Aldi store is not as big as some other out in stores and they don't sell alcohol in this particular store either as it is a smaller Aldi's branch
Hard to buy something here that isn't packed in its own individual plastic box or bag. Pushing the responsibility for that on to the consumer and to local councils recycling services isn't acceptable in 2023. Stay clear of the famed Aldi specials, which are mosly low quality and quickly be destined for landfill.
As usual for an ALDI, great prices for the stuff you need as bulk or basic. I would not buy the meat - though I do not buy from other supermarkets either - only butchers. Staff are lovely at this store. However, the options are limited compared to ALDI stores in Canterbury, Bankstown or Broadway.
I don't think I've ever shopped here and been able to buy all the things I want. More often than not they don't have milk, or the milk will have 1 or 2 days until it expires. I've stopped coming, because I always have to go to a proper supermarket afterwards to finish my shop off.
Yia-yia crash zone. Watch out for your toes! Refurbished and bigger Aldi, good special buys but you'll have to get in quick. Alcohol section and plenty of space. Checkout queues are pretty well managed here, but no self serve so you have to line up for even a couple of items.
This store never has what I need to buy and is always running out of stock. I ALWAYS walk out disappointed and you can't find a staff member who is knowledgeable on products if your lucky enough to find a staff member besides at the checkouts and their not helpful at all
TRY TO SELL YOU STALE BREAD IF YOU SAY SOMETHING THEY GET ARROGANT , MAYBE THEY GET RUDE BECAUSE YOU CAUGHT THEM TRYING TO RIP YOU OFF . RECOMMEND GETTING BREAD FROM THE BACK TRAYS USUALLY HAVE A FRESHER DATE ON IT . I'M PAYING FULL PRICE I EXPECT MY BREAD TO BE FRESH .
I lost phone in there and ask for help from manager and say I cen not help you the cemrers not Working I say how that not Working worker stole my phone and got busted call me saying I have your phone you cen pick it up tomorrow morning w.t f is going on in this place.
Wanted to do a big $500 shop only had card on me no coins for a trolley on me at all no baskets available spoke to store manager he wouldn’t give me a trolley or a basket obviously would rather I spent my money somewhere else ridiculous and abrupt manager x
Aldi Retail chain selling a range of grocery items, including produce, meat & dairy.Located in: Marrickville Metro Shopping Centre , It is one of the big Aldi stores in the area , has products which are fairly priced , worth checking if you are in the area
Good store easy parking, covered aswel. In Marrickville Metro shopping centre. I find it easy & convenient to shop. And if they dont have eveything I need there are many other places in Marrickville metro shopping centre to fill your shopping list.
This supermarket is the cheapest in the city. You can buy a lot of things with fewer money. There are a lot in city, so you will find one very close to your house. But they dont sell a lot of brands, so sometime i dont find many options there.
Love my local Aldi. Terrific prices, terrific products, helpful staff and...... they open other check out before the lines get too long. I don't drink so that's not an issue for me. However if you do, go to the Canterbury or Leichhardt Aldi.
No liquor store. Always busy. I found a broken freezer and all the frozen fish had melted, notified the staff that totally ignored me. I have also seen red meat with a really questionable colour! I love Aldi but this one particular is dodgy!
Friendliest ALDI in Sydney. Not the biggest, but with the expansion underway, looking forward to the NEW. Always something interesting on the specials desk, love the cultural food mix throughout the year.
We're regular customers, good quality and cheaper prices with a decent variety of food, kinda European style, lot of good stuff comes from Germany. Very satisfied. This store doesn't sell alcohol.
This Aldi is fairly small compared to a lot of others but it has all the usual products and specials. No alcohol at this one. The staff are very friendly and helpful if you ever need anything.
In Broadway, and has all the usual Aldi groceries, with weekly specials. Lookout for the catalogue or app. Doesn't get that busy but the self checkout is often unreliable, needing assistance.
Love Aldi with their discount prices and kooky special buys, what I like to affectionately call 'strange buys'. Let's hope they bring in self serve cashiers like they are trialing in England.
It's shaped a like a 'BD' if that helps. If you go on a weekday, go before school school gets out around 3pm. If it's a weekend, go before midday or you will know that hell is other people.
An older and small aldi but very quiet on week nights. Very friendly staff and has good levels of stock. No alcohol sold here and small cash registers so you have to be fast with packing!
This is my regular Aldi. The staff are very friendly and remember you! However the special items they stock disappear very quickly and I go to other Aldi's to get these items.
A point off as this one doesn't have booze! All the stuff that Aldi usually has (love their organic health foods range) and their staff are always friendly and helpful.
Cheapest of them all. I hate new design and some items are missing. Why rearranging the products when you can just add the new ones in the extra space? Feels lost.
Relatively smaller to ww or coles, lesser items, undermanned, empty shells, difficult to get trolleys, lot of not available racks , not a preferred choice for me
Very poor customer service. Was trying to et rid of the coins and the lady almost yell at my face for doing such thing!!!! Was shocked and disappointed!!!!
Good location and parking is very accessible. Good product range and pricing is very competitive. If you haven't already tried it you should give it a go.
Good prices and their museli with almonds and apricot is excellent!. Staff are always friendly and polite in what must be a hard public facing job.
Good sized ALDI store offering an alternative to the mega Woolworths. Unfortunately this store doesn't stock liquor. The staff are always friendly.
Gr8 for groceries although in late arvo they seem to be out of alot of products. Dont hold your breath for specials eaither they never have enough.
Prices and quality is better than Coles. I especially love that they have quality products to an unbeatable low price, and produced in Australia.
The checkout staff here are really great. You can tell they mean business with their speed and efficiency but they still make you feel welcome.
Don't go for short cues Don't go for wonder Broad base selection Go for great hidden bargains Our run around today we got everything we needed
very friendly staff especially Kala is always smiling at cashier, it s like your own local shop rather than a 'supermarket' like many others.
Great store, and always had good deals. Unfortunately doest have an Aldi liquor attached, but the weekly specials are always a good bargain
Bit of a mess today, but usually is.. other than that, loads of weird and wonderful items, great fresh fruit and vegetables and inexpensive
I always enjoy shopping at Aldi Marrickville Metro I have shopped at a few other sister‐stores and found Metro the friendliest and best.
Meat and chicken pieces (except wings/drumsticks) more expensive here than Woolworths by a few dollars a kilo. Not fair prices in meat.
Clean and spacious Aldi perfect for your everyday needs. Friendly staff and only half the price from every other supermarket chain.
I spent an hour and a half trying to find spices and lemon juice. All the staff were on the three registers. Nobody else was there!
the products are in good quality. location is easy to find. the price is cheaper compare to other supermarket. parkings available.
Great selection of products at good prices. Good quality. Have now moved in to plant based food too, which is to be applauded!
Fairly neutral experience. We wanted a discounted rocking chair, we got there early, the staff had plenty so it went smoothly.
This is one of their smaller storws it still has a geat variety of product and weekly specials for those chasing a bargin.
Excellent service, the checkout staff are delightfull and the staff packing shelves will always assist if you need help.
A “smaller” Aldi for sure but I always manage to snag the specials here. Always good to shop here when your on a budget.
Aldi have the most decent prices for groceries. Marrickville seems to run out of items less than other locations …
Good product range.. Good for what I needed.. Aldi is inside Marrickville Metro shopping centre.. Plenty of parking..
Love, love, love our Aldi at Metro. Just wish it was a bit bigger. Hope that's in the plans with the new extension.
Just left there, purchased a black Forrest cheesecake.... opened it up once I left and it was filled with mold !!
Always good value. Supporting a non smokers world. Not to mention the great deals on sale two eneaxh week.
Great store with fabulous products & fantastic prices. Staff are always helpful, and offer great advice.
Not too big but it is cheap! Annoying that they dont have baskets to carry the goods in during the visit
It doesn't sell booze, but it does sell all the crazy things things that Aldi rotates on a weekly basis.
service is good, shelves are always packed, pity it doesn't offer alcohol otherwise would rate higher
Pathetic disrespect for customers. Always closing early with no notice. I won't be bothering anymore.
Premium store. I like it. I do have a different Aldi closer to my home but this one is less crowded.
The best Aldi in Sydney. Everything is always in stock and customer service is fantastic. …
Good, but in the entry or exit of the store there is a smell on a detergent every time we go there.
Prices and variety good but registers are always full and they dont open others that are available
Don't bother going to Aldi marackvile it's closed even though website says open!! Wasted journey
Typical aldi, parking good at Marrickville metro and two other supermarkets for the extra stuff
Easy to get in and out quickly during the week, conveniently located near the carpark entrance.
Keen prices but long queues for the checkout. If you are in a hurry shop at the grocers nearby.
Good for what I needed plus plenty of parking.. Aldi is in marrickville shopping centre..
Always good. If lines are long they open up a new register. Thanks ALDI, i love you...
ALDI please replace popular stock you have many bare shelfs in popular sections …
Great prices and new store layout, great to see frozen raspberries back on the shelf.
Good value.fast service . we would like to see more variety.but better than woolies .
Good shopping experience, only minus is all the yolos that come in and feel entitled.
I don't mine this shop some times it had other things I like the wollies don't have
Very popular but causes long queues at the checkouts, since there is limited staff.
Store is larger and staff are great and unfortunately now have self service …
I like the funny names and the cardboard boxes. The specials aren’t bad too.
I always shop at Aldi Marrickville and very happy with products and service
Great product great prices Self packing a challenge to keep up with staff.
ALDI is ALDI, always good. Nov 22 still good, now has alcohol products too
smallish store. very compact. but easy to shop. friendly & efficient staff
Nice ALDI store, recently refitted, more fresh produce, some great finds.
Recently renovated. Well stocked, typical Aldi good prices on groceries.
It's nice and clean, they did a refurb and it's much bigger and modern.
Found all food items I needed. Staff were very helpful and friendly
Great ALDI store but rediculously crowded with self-centred morons.
