I’ve been to AMC Mission Valley 20 twice in three days. I have loved AMC theaters since the day they opened however things have changed since then. I miss the days when the food prices were reasonable so you didn’t have to skimp on buying food. Now it’s $18 for popcorn and a drink. I want theaters to stay open because I live the experience, and I can afford it, so I do buy food but at least the popcorn could be freshly made! Last Sunday’s popcorn tasted stale and like it was from a bag. Last nights was betters but not great. Buying tickets. I understand why they might not staff the ticket counter out front if they expect a low turnout, but I can no longer use the kiosk because I’m a regular Stubbs card member but they won’t give me a new card that works and I don’t believe the kiosk will allow me to manually enter the number, or my phone number, and the staff don’t know either. I usually don’t have time to try it so I just go to the Guest Services inside. The staff there is very nice and accommodating but if there is a problem with the person at the counter like last night, you waste a lot of time waiting. My last complaint is the sound level of the movies. I’m used to the previews being extremely loud, but does the movie itself have to make you think of bringing ear plugs or cotton? I’ll will try to remember that next time. I saw Radical and The Holdovers. Neither is a loud action movie, yet I felt like I was being yelled at the entire time. My companion stated perhaps it’s needed if there is a large crowd absorbing the sound. I doubt that because I’ve been in theaters with large crowds and the previews and ads still sounded way too loud. This is not the theater’s fault, but on these last two visits, the elevator was broken, the ramp at the west end of the mall was blocked off, and one of the ramps on the east end has been turned into steps. I usually take the elevator to save my knees and last night, my friend would have appreciated that as well as she is wearing a boot due to a foot fracture. Walking the extra distance and taking the stairs was very uncomfortable for her. While we did finally discover the one ramp, it would be difficult to push a wheelchair up that ramp, so I am not sure what the options for more severely handicapped people would be. On the plus side, as I said, the staff always seems friendly and helpful. The seats are comfortable enough and though the theater is aging, it’s holding up well enough. The drink machines and choices are phenomenal, however I would be happy with fewer choices if that will save money so prices can be lowered or fresh corn can be popped all the time. I also appreciate the perks of the Stubbs membership and senior pricing, although that has gone up. And I will likely still come to this AMC (Fashion Valley is a little better but has some of the same issues), but I will prioritize other theaters when possible and when coming here, bring cotton to adjust the sound at my ears.

Casablanca on the big screen, I was so excited. I purchased my ticket online, routed through Atom Tickets. I arrived at the theater about 20 minutes before the showing. While waiting for the movie to start, I was scrolling on my phone. Near show time, I looked up and saw a message on the screen that the "channel was not available." Not sure exactly what that meant but went back to my phone. Time passed and all of a sudden it was 20 minutes past show time. One of the theater goers went to talk to management to see what was happening and came back to tell us she was informed that the machine was not working and the movie would not be shown. A couple of minutes later, a young man, not sure who he is as he did not introduce himself, came out and told us the same, the machine was not working. He informed us to go to customer service to obtain a refund. After waiting in line for 5-7 minutes, I was told they could not refund my ticket as I purchased it through Atom Tickets. I asked why they couldn't issue a refund as I originally started the purchase through AMC and they, then directed us to Atom. I told them I did not have a contract with Atom to sell tickets, AMC did and they should honor their tickets and issue refunds when needed. Nope, they wouldn't. When I called Atom Tickets, I received an automated message stating they do not have a phone customer service presence and to go to their website. What a mess. The company did even have the courtesy to keep us informed of the issues regarding the movie or to advise us of the refund issue. I waited 5-7 minutes to be told and there were people behind me waiting, as the line for refunds was long. Just a complete lack of courtesy. I'm thinking I will not return to this theater.

It pains me to say it but the movie night didn't start out well. I was so excited to be in a movie theater for the first time since January of 2020. Manager was rude when we got there. He demanded to see the email saying we were Yelp guests and made me scroll down to read the whole thing even though It says yelp at the very top of the email. And then after that he told me "oh you're waiting for representatives from the movie studio who are inside setting up. So you just have to wait outside until they're ready. It doesn't have anything to do with us." Well then what was the point of you making me do all that then? After that it went much easier because the reps came out and showed us into the movie theater. We got settled and went to get our snacks. I got chicken tenders and a bottle of water and my husband got a beer and a hot dog. The chicken tenders were not as expensive as you would think they would be. They're only $8.89. For five nice sized pieces that tasted pretty good. The chairs were comfortable but we couldn't find any that weren't stained. The people at the snack counter were really nice. They were working hard to make sure everyone got what they ordered without having to wait a long time.

This is the worst theater I have been to in decades. The seats are small and the aisles cramped. It is tough for people to pass by. The theater smells musty. There was a spill on the way into our theater that they put a “wet floor” sign on and left. When we arrived there was a 15 - 20 minute line for food which meant we barely made it to our movie on time. One of two soda machines was out of order and the second had no ice. After sitting down we discovered that both our drinks were flat. Our movie was starting, so we went without. After the movie ended, I brought my still full cup of flat Coke to the register and asked for a refund. The manager refused and said it was our fault for getting the drinks from a machine that was out of ice since that meant the drinks would be flat. I have no idea how I would know that. When I asked why they didn’t put a sign on the machine indicating it was out of order she shrugged. So many things wrong here. Fortunately there are other better options in San Diego. AMC should be ashamed. We won’t be back and recommend you go elsewhere.

No ice in any of the 6 soda machines, and the auditorium was at least 90° inside. Opening weekend for Oppenheimer and multiple people (including myself) left after 20 minutes. AC wasn’t on and they refused to turn the fans on. Extremely hot and uncomfortable. Not only were other customers getting their refund, but when I was in line getting my refund I heard multiple customers complaining that they just came out of a sweaty 3 hours of Oppenheimer in a different auditorium. Another guest made the complaint that while they did eventually turn the fans on in their theatre, the fans were blowing visible dust everywhere. For the price of tickets that AMC charges, this is absurd. Probably the worst movie going experience I’ve ever had. If AMC knows they are having AC issues, they should start cancelling showtimes. Such an inconvenient experience. The fact that we can’t even go watch it elsewhere because it’s sold out everywhere just really adds a cherry on top of this whole experience. Thanks AMC.

Terrible experience at this theater. Will never go back. For whatever reason the lights were left on until 15 min into the movie. I could deal with that. However, seeing the stains on those chairs I almost walked out. It's disgusting how dirty that place was. The employees there were sloooooow. It took 15 min to get pretzel bites. So we were late to our movie. And as mentioned the lights were left on. I had to go find someone to turn them off. Not sure if they are trying to mimic The Lot or Cineoplois but they now have you pick your seat when you buy tickets so now the line to get tickets takes way longer than it should. The absolute worst part was the seats themselves. Extra tall chairs that seem to sit almost straight up. Four days later I still have a strained neck from those piece of s%$t seats. I'm actually going to be contacting the health board about this theater in the next few days. It should be shut down.

  • Chris M

I'm really shocked to see this AMC location average over 4-stars. I purchased tickets for me and my family to go see Aquaman 2 in IMAX, and it was way overpriced due to the lack of amenities offered. It started at the concession. I had to ask the gentleman about earning points towards my newly acquired AMC Stubs membership. He basically told me since I didn't let him know before he rang everything up that I would have to take my receipt to guest services and get them added there. It seems like it would be normal practice for the staff member to ask before they start taking your order but, ok. Then for the actual theater, it didn't have reclining chairs. No pullout trays for your food. Then it didn't display the movie title for the theater we were in so I had to double check to make sure we were in the right room. Definitely will do more research to visit a better theater next time.

I was turned away by a girl checking tickets since she was insistent on seeing my dates ID. My date explained she had left it behind but had a picture on her phone with all the information. She was still turned away and we were forced to get a refund for everything we had purchased. The people at concessions and customer service were great since I was getting a refund for everything but had a horrible 2nd experience coming here. My first time the theater was extremely hot causing me to sweat and walk out multiple times when it was 9p.m, both experiences here haven’t been the best. Edit: came back to see if anything has change, still a horrible theater. So glad it’s being torn down and made into housing.

AMC Mission Valley 20 at the Westfield shopping mall is the place to see a movie. It is very clean, has all the usual concession drinks and snacks. The customer service is very helpful and quick to serve at the concession area. The seats are older and just tilt back a little, but they have higher head rests to help you relax and watch the show. The theaters are kept clean, I have never stepped or sat in anything sticky. They have a couple really large screen theaters that make the watching more fun. The other screens are fairly standard in size. If you want to take a break while shopping, then enjoy a show at AMC Mission Valley 20.

  • Rachel Jonas

I'm not trying to sound bratty, but if you're gonna spend 20 bucks a ticket and possibly more, then please, for the love of God, keep the place at least decently clean. I held back numerous times bc I don't want to be that person, but the level of disgust in the bathrooms is ungodly. Dead flies on the walls, blood on the floor, leaking toilets. Trash is always overflowing in the lobby, and next to the theaters, the concession area is a wreck. I'm like, who's running this place... a group of ten year Olds? Wth happened with the clean factor? I know capitalism sucks so I'm mostly blaming this on corporate but do better!

  • Darna Lee

First: We we're very disappointed because the complete address in the apps is not right!!!! 4 Stars for Dolby Cinema is awesome! But sitting in the last aisle to the top, Is NOT advisable because you cannot see the whole screen. I am 5'3 , i can only see half of the screen if i will use the recliner...And if i don't use the recliner, i still need to stand a little bit to check down the whole screen. /Restroom was old and not clean. Doesn't matter if its old as long as the toilet is clean and have a complete rolls and sit paper... AMC Mission Valley 20 please change the right address in the Apps!

  • Tanksists

Was watching Godzilla minus one and the projector crashed and it took a long time for the establishment to look into it, they said the projector was broken so they couldn't play the movie. I went to the guest lobby to get a refund but they were only able to refund me for one of the tickets because my father lost his ticket I showed them evidence that I clearly paid for two tickets but they only gave me half of my money back. Horrible customer service, overall this has been a awful experience, 2 weeks of planning down the drain, time wasted and never got a full refund.

  • Grant “Alexander” Hammel-Davis

Great seeing Top Gun here! Nyssa was an AMAZING team Member. The sound and picture quality were incredible. The customer service was impeccable and all the seats and other amenities seemed brand new. Parking is super convenient at this mall as well. It's a wonderful mall too with so many places to go shopping before or after. The line for the snacks was really quick and service was on point. Nyssa honored my points when I forgot them earlier, such great service. I have no complaints and can't wait to come back, I give major credit to the staff and management here.

  • Josh Minzer

I come here for movies because it’s the closest theater to where I live but because I have a Stubs pass, I’m gonna be going to La Jolla from now on for a better experience. I experience interruptions and bad movie etiquette every time I come to watch a movie here without fail. A guy in front of me answered his cell phone in the theater TWICE during a movie. Yesterday a man would not stop kicking the back of the chair, and I consistently experience teenagers coming in and giggling on their phones. So I’m done coming to this location. Watch at your own risk.

Nice, clean theater. App integrations with pre-order food & bar (they serve alcohol) is great. Reportedly, they've upgraded the air system and filtration due to COVID. My favorite go-to theater still, both before the pandemic & now. No longer cashless at the snack bar anymore, but still does accept digital payments or cards. Themed drinks are pretty good but too pricy. Update September 2023: Dolby cinema is great video, audio is loud and clear. Just gorgeous. Update October 2023: A List can enjoy $5 thrill and chiller movies, see website for details.

  • Max Abbey

This theatre is so beyond overdue for a refurbishment. The seats are uncomfortable and desperately need to be updated. The picture and sound quality are terrible. There was a huge line for concessions and overall it seemed like employees were scarce. We saw Oppenheimer in IMAX and the picture was unclear and flickered for the first 30 minutes. Sound was bad and unbalanced. Overall just a terrible experience. I will not be returning to this theatre anytime soon. Go to The Lot or another theatre that actually cares about the experience.

  • Lynn Bivins

Too bad not 1 of the employees we saw standing around (except the nice guy who took our tickets when we got there, then served & made my ICEE AFTER the movie:) could of BROUGHT me p-corn and ICEE! They should appoint or hire a server who splits mandatory 15% tip (on any order being delivered to customer) w/clean-up crew. Sales would increase by min 30%. Do NOT increase prices on posted prices cuz that discourages consumer buying! The tip is enough & consumer thinks that's fair and positve feelings are felt! You're welcome

  • Joel Lehnherr

Worst movie going experience ever. Theater 20 showing Oppenheimer was filthy and rundown. Fans covered in dust and not even working. A/C clearly not working. Sweating head to toe for 3 hours. Oh I know, I'll remedy this by getting a tasty ice cold beverage. Oh wait.. all 6 ice machines were out of ice... 70MM film? Doubt it. Clearly states theater 20 as an IMAX theater... the movie was flickering and dimly lit the entire time. You better believe this will be reported and I will definitely be getting my money back.

  • Nancy Faulkner

Lousy customer service! We were there today for a mid day show of the new Indiana Jones movie. ALL the lights in the theater were on, and stayed on throughout the previews and about 5 minutes in to the movie! We could hardly see anything on the screen, it was very bright. Several people left the theater to find staff and get the lights turned off. After the show, we went to Guest Services where *manager* Kyle was rude and dismissive, blaming us for the problem, and saying we got to enjoy "most of the movie."

  • Jessica Parish

The staff was very unhappy to be there the day we went. Might be because they only had one person working concession on a Sat. And there isn't anyone in the box office... so after you find someone to pay $50 for 1 adult & 2 kids (or give up trying to find someone who works there & decide to pay an extra $4 fee to buy them online), expect sticky floors & seats, $20 stale popcorn, flat $12 soda, no ice & teenage scorn attitude from the staff. Management hasn't shown promise in this location & it shows.

  • Linda Ridge Johnson

I went to see the new movie (full opening on Christmas-2023). The Color Purple is a remake of the 1985 movie. The theater and restroom were clean. The popcorn was tasty, the bottled water was refreshing, and the prices were reasonable. I left my eyeglasses! Sure enough, they had been found by the night cleanup crew, locked in a safe, and were handed to me when I returned to the welcoming customer service desk the next day! What a way to make a senior citizen 'girl' feel special! Happy Holidays!

  • Qiaoyin Gu

We watched Oppenheimer in auditorium 20. The experience couldn't be any worse. The vendor machine is out of ice and missing some flavors. The auditorium didn't have AC on for the first 1.5 hours. The movie even stuck when we went into the most thrilled part, ruining the momentum and excitement of the scene. The most ridiculous is whoever is responsible for playing the movie decided to rewind it back 10 minutes from where it got lagged. And this is the second time I experienced all of above at amc20.

  • Clayton Foster

Went to see a movie last week and the seats in theater 13 was disgusting. When we got in there the cup holders already had trash in them. There was caked on stains. I was so uncomfortable I felt like since the seats were so dirty that it also might have had bed bugs. Highly recommend having the seats steam cleaned at least once or twice a year. Not sure where they're getting these 4 and 5 star reviews from, but it seems fishy that just as many people are leaving 1 and 2 star reviews.

  • james pressey

I hadn't been to the movies in a few years and bought my tickets on the app ahead of time. It was quick and easy to buy the tickets and get them scanned to get in. The snacks were on point and the movie was great. Theater looked clean and they had the fountain drink I wanted. Overall a great Top Gun movie. The only problem I had was the lady had to punch in my rewards # on my phone because the scanner didn't work in the snack area. Other than that I had a good time.

  • Isaac King

The stated address was wrong, leading to me arriving in front of a building that was not the theater and having to ask employees of those businesses if they knew where the theater actually was. I hurried over to the correct complex a block away, arriving late and out of breath, only to discover that their incompetence had cancelled out and the movie was also starting late; I actually had to wait a good 10 minutes or so before it began.

  • Paul

This is my go-to AMC theatre in the San Diego area, primarily for the comfy recliners and IMAX + Dolby formats. Fountain drink machines are often hit or miss (the majority of them have flat soda or no ice). Pricey concessions too, but it is what it is. There is a A-List Priority Lane, but you need to be assertive at the register so not to be overlooked and waiting on the crowded general line. Overall a great theatre experience!

  • skopeez eats

AMC @Mission Valley Mall always has a clean environment, great seating, and the latest movies . Not to mention the all day Tuesday, all movies for only $5 dollars- what a bargain (except Dolby, 3D, or IMAX those are $10 dollars on Tuesdays, but still a fantastic deal)! *You have to be a Stubs member to enjoy the discounted Tuesdays, but you can easily sign up for free online ‍.

  • Lani Davis

I try not to even post if I can't leave a great review but I just had to. The 2-star rating comes from the facility being dirty. The chairs smelled like pee and were very dirty. The food was not good to me at all. The bathrooms were horrible as well. We got there late so I couldn't take pictures of the seats without bothering people with my flash. I will not be back to this facility.

  • The Calm one

I go to the theater the most. I am in Old Town, so I'm always going to this one or fashion valley. I like this one a little bit better because it has an IMAX and Dolby. Become an A-list member if you're going to be seeing all your movies in IMAX Dolby. I've been a member for about 3 years, $25 a month, and 16 movies a month. You can't beat it now that movie seasons back on

  • Sonia Paul

I was very sad to see my favorite theater to be in so unwelcome. The guys at the counters weren't not helpful at all. I could have been told that only a FEW soda Dispensaries worked and had ice. The butter stations were a messy, and they were not too busy to have someone cleaning that hot dogs/ butter stations. The prices were another thing but that's another story.

  • Sarah DeBaca

I was a bit terrified reading the reviews after I bought tickets online but it was totally fine. We went at 11 am to see Oppenheimer in IMAX. AC was working, staff was pleasant, bathrooms were clean. I noticed matinees are $4 at 10:45 on Sunday’s so we’ll def be back again. It’s not as comfy as theaters with recliners but the imax trade off seems worth it.

  • Joel Danielson

Pretty grubby place... Came for my first visit here since moving to San Diego to see a 70mm screening of Oppenheimer and was completely misled by the 70mm part. The screen was smaller than average size and gave the original filmed format a serious downgrade. I probably won't return, but mainly because the theater is outdated and crusty, dirty, sticky.

  • Evan Bryan

So long as you park in the old Macy's parking lot, you should have no problem securing a spot! We went and saw Sound of Freedom, which was a powerful movie. When we got there, it was great to experience the excitement of a large crowd coming to see movies. The employees were in good cheer and the facilities were clean. What more could you ask for?

  • Mike Ferreri

I'm only giving this two stars mainly because they have Dolby Digital theater which in my opinion is the only way to watch movies! Other than that; seating is the absolutely worst here, if you're not in Dolby thrater, be ready for a very uncomfortable time.. went to see Oppenheimer here in the 70 mm and it was absolutely worst 3 hours of my life!

  • John Recio

Employees are always helpful, and expedient in their work. They speak confidently, and have answered all inquiries, with exceptional depth. The inside is aesthetically pleasing, and the food selections are beyond satisfying; to say the least! Chairs are abundant throughout the theatres, and the option to pick seating is always a pleasant benefit.

  • Peter V

This theater has seen better days. The seats are filthy dirty stained and need to be replaced. Went to two different bathrooms that were not maintained: urine, water, wet paper towels on the floors. And each had one working soap dispenser and one working faucet so you had to get soap at one sink and then use the water in the other sink.

  • michael kinzer

Some of the seating could be upgraded but overall a great movie experience and wonderful staff. I have the AMC A-List and recommend getting that if you see 2 movies a month it pays for itself in fees and ticket cost alone. Thanks AMC mission valley for getting us back to the theaters and out of our homes. …

  • Caesar Aceituno

Most of the time I come here is to experience their Dolby or imax theater. And I have to say their AC never works for these massive auditoriums. It’s always hot, watched Mission impossible dead reckoning and most people left sweating from the leather and heat. Also their security during the week is lacking and I did not feel safe.

  • Ryan Marshall

This AMC is old and stinks. The kiosk machines out front don’t work. The bathrooms are old and need badly to be renovated. I paid $20 bucks for an IMAX ticket went in and they are aren’t even modern reclining seats for that price! This place needs updates and soon. Not worth $20!!! And then $5.19 for a water.....really! …

  • ang t

It's been years since I was at this theater. Nice big comfy seats that don't recline. But that's fine! What isn't okay was how warm it was inside! We always expect inside the theater to be cold when it's warm outside, especially yesterday. Wrong, wrong & wrong! Not in a hurry to be back here. The 3 stars were for the seats.

  • Martha Palafox

We were in theater # 9. I felt the seats were not very comfortable. The air conditioning was not on, so we had to ask to turn on. There is a smell that made me very nauseous. Especially when I was walking in the corridor. Don't think I will be going back to this theater. The movie was great that we saw. Return of the Jedi.

  • Chris Lee

$18 ticket for a rerun in stadium style seats. Theater was way too warm, was sweating by the end of the movie. Out of seven soda machines only one was working. Butter and jalapeno station was disgusting. Disruptive patrons and poor soundproofing, could hear the movie two theaters over throughout the entire film. Boo

  • Nana Im

Grossest seats. You’d think with the low turnout of people to movies, they would have some time to clean the place. Every single seat was stained and repulsive. I didn’t even want to lean back on my chair. They didn’t even turn off the lights when the show started. One of my friends had to go ask. Ridiculous.

  • Jay Bird

Went to see a move at 8:30 pm. The theater was hot. My friends and I were sweating in our seats and I overheard several other people say the same thing as we walked out. We were in row K, which is past midway and the surround sound seemed to come from overhead, and overall needed a bit more low end.

  • Nicole Medina

Seats are extremely outdated and filthy. The cup holders are stained with scum. The fabric seats are super nasty. The theater is huge. Great sound and picture and the staff is nice. But for $17 for an adult ticket and no recliner or faux leather seats I think I will pass. First and last time here.

  • Stacy Floyd

My Grandson and I had a great day bonding. We went to see the new Marvel movie Thor Love and Thunder. It was a little expensive because we chose to watch it IMAX. After getting all our popcorn and snacks we enjoyed the movie together. Nice atmosphere and friendly staff. A Priceless Moment!!

  • Ismael Villegas Molina

Fantastic theater, great staff. Sometimes you get people who are disrespectful, and that's frustrating but not the theater's fault. Maybe hiring some people to watch some famous movies and keep crowd in control? Not sure. But the theater itself is great, clean, and the staff is very nice.

  • Jackson McDonough

Decent theater and semi comfortable chairs. But the sound in our theater was dismal, not surround sound at all - no bass either. Honestly glad I didn’t sit in the back on the theater there were parts that I probably wouldn’t have heard at all. Lost of moments felt missed because of this.

  • Neal Langerman

I am not a fan of movie theaters. I have not been in one for many years. Oppenheimer motivated me to go and I was pleasantly surprised. The theater was well appointed and comfortable. No unruly crowds and no odor of stale popcorn. Online tickets added to the positive experience.

  • Sammy Pineda

This is my childhood movie theater and unfortunately they haven't done a good job at maintaining it, the Marquees outside of the screening rooms never work and depending on the line your waiting in, they don't take payments through phone, debit cards or cash, it's really weird.

  • Moni G

It was a bit warm in the room and the seats did not recline. The seating is also arranged different with a minimum of two seats together on the side all the other seats .Other than that we enjoyed our movie but would prefer to go to a theatre with more comfortable seating.

  • Samantha Kelly

The parking was okay, purchasing ahead on the app was easy. Unfortunately, I couldn’t redeem my food ahead so that deterred me from purchasing anything extra upon arrival due to the line. The comfort of the theatre was great with the exception of the extra sticky floor.

  • Sophia Shen

Everything was good except they made the previews to last 30 mins, instead of the normal 15 mins. Not only it's long, it was so unusually loud that it made me felt sick. I had to leave the movie early without finishing it. Would never want to come back to AMC again.

  • Ariel Porter

trigger warning: absolutely disgusting and i refuse to ever go back to amc ever again and all the seats looked like this. ultra star cinema is smaller and way more clean and cheaper for a overall more luxury experience. how’s there someone not overseeing this?

  • Ronnie Williams

Loved the seating and the movie was spectacular. The sound was so good you felt like you were a part of the whole experience. Wasn't too crowded and plenty of seats to choose from. Online ticket purchases are great. I may become a member after this experience.

  • Jonathan Galindo

My visit to this theater was a total letdown. The seats were uncomfortable, reminded me of a spirit flight. To make matters worse, the AC didn't work, leaving us in discomfort throughout the entire movie. Save your money and find a better theater option.

  • Autumn Mays

Last night my husband and I went there to see a movie that wasn't playing in any other AMC theater nearby and were thoroughly disgusted. The place is dirty and the seats look like they haven't been cleaned since I worked there as a teenager 16 years ago!

  • Sheridan Peddicord

Sorry for the 2 stars but the seats are just horrible so sad spending so much money for a bad theater. Not to mention your soda machine was have trouble getting it work have to press it super hard that's not cool. Some horrible customer service. …

  • Nykeshia Safford (Ke’s Candles)

The seats in the movie theater were absolutely disgusting. Every single chair had old stains and the movie theater smelled horrible. It’s absolutely insane that tickets are 20 dollars for adults but the movie theater is so filthy it smells like urine.

  • Gina Menjivar

The service is terrible because I may look young but it doesn't mean to ask for ID twice. Also, my kid is big enough to watch R movie accompany with an adult. We come every time to watch movie R or PG13 but never ask for ID. What a poor service!

  • Michael Garcia

AMC mission valley movie theater as nice and clean, comfortable seating, enjoyed the movie. But kind of pricey. Bought a can beer for $9.00 bud light could of gotten a six pack for that price. But overall great movie and time with the family..

  • Shenoa Loewy

I really love this theater, I always have a good time here. Staff are really friendly and I never receive bad service. It's expensive but literally every movie theater is the same. The restrooms are clean and the Dolby Cinema is super cool

it's an amc that clearly hasn't been renovated in a long time. the seats are stained and quite old. Would not go out of my way for this theater, there are definitely better options, especially ones that aren't attached to a dying mall.

This morning they gave us a burned pretzel, when we asked for a new one and said we would come back once we put things down on our seats came back they gave us the same pretzel, also out of 7 soda machines only 3 had ones that had ice.

Ticket box office closed. Two ticket kiosks, one didnt work, the other bately worked and didnt work for customer in front of me. Theater #12 older chair style and can't lean back at all. When i was leaving all trash cans overflowing.

Nice upgrades. The Dolby theater is amazing. Great service, pleasant place to enjoy a film. Nyssa, the manager, went above and beyond recently to solve an issue with my Stubs account. This is my favorite AMC location locally.

  • Johnathan Springman

Huge A/C issues in this building. We went to Barbie and Oppenheimer on different days, in different theaters, and it was so hot and sweaty both times. The fans in the Oppenheimer theater weren't even on either. Unacceptable.

  • RJ Martinez

I go here once a week on a Tuesday. They have movie deal all day if you're a member. It was at $5 at one time but it's like at $6-$7 per ticket and I will get the popcorn & drink for $5. I have watched some great movies.

  • Elizabeth Belchamber

The seats are more comfortable than grossmont, but it was really hot inside the theater, and the floor beneath my seat was super sticky and gross. The staff member at the front was on her phone and was not friendly.

  • Sean-Colin Fort

Screens are good but seats are uncomfortable and SO dirty. They could really use a steam cleaning. At $16 a ticket, I might as well goto Cinepolis and get table service. Still, it’s nice to have somewhere local.

  • Chamese Dempsey

After seeing that this is what every single row & seat looked like at the AMC Mission Valley theater made me super disappointed. This is what I paid to sit in- didn't know until I was leaving. so disgusting.

  • Ronald Marchesano

Their matinee is is a bargain and the restrooms are clean. The seats are fairly comfortable and the theater is in Mission Valley Mall which makes it convenient to grab a bite before, or after, the show.

  • Nate Skinner

Theater was well staffed, with concessions lines moving quickly. Theater was clean overall, yet soda areas needed to be wiped down. Seats could use an upgrade yet weren't particularly uncomfortable.

  • Sassy Scribbler

Lot’s of theatres for a large variety of movies. Seats are comfortable and clean. This is my favourite place to go. Since it’s in a mall, you can also shop before the show or go to the restaurant.

  • Mark Anthony

This theater is horrible. Theater 15 was extremely dirty, seats had chocolate stains. I’m honestly shocked. OSHA would fine you if they saw what we saw!! I would never take anyone here ever again.

  • Deepak Krishnankutty

The seats at AMC mission valley are just pathetic. Looks like people vomited here and its all dried up. Sad and pathetic. I went to Auditorium #8 and the pictures are from there specifically.

  • Elizabeth Mora

Management needs to seriously invest in new seats or at least cleaning the existing seats and updating the bathrooms. The seats are uncomfortable, covered in stains and feel sticky. GROSS

  • Cynthia Wrona

The horror! This theater is so run down. The seats were disgusting and stained and not comfortable. The bathroom was like a bus station bathroom. Spend your money at a different theater!

  • Sudip Saha

Location is good. But they had wrong language on the movie. When we ask for the refund they only provided ticket fee but deducted service fee. Although they recognized it is their fault.

  • Djana Warner

I mean it's a movie theater. It's kept clean and I have never had any issues there. It's in a location near to me and with the convenience of buying online the walk in process is quick.

  • Jordan Schaffner

They have the most evening showings so that makes it convenient. I can charge my electric car in the parking garage while I watch a movie! They accept MoviePass and AMC A list too!

  • Josh Bozzay

Nice theater however auditorium 6 doesn’t have the recliners like the other auditoriums have. It’s okay though. It was nice and cold inside which is perfect during the hot summer.

  • Michael Gonzales

Theater was nice. Staff were friendly to us. A bit brusk with an elderly lady. She was rattling the door a bit and they could have been a little more patient when addressing her.

  • Eduardo Hernández, Jr

Regular AMC. Employees could be more attentive, since sometimes no one is busy and they're chatting instead of keeping an eye on the concessions line. Theater is usually clean.

  • Sean Ross

This theater is overall passable, but not great. Negatives: Seats and theater overall is a little dated. Popcorn was really disappointing. Sound quality was not great.

  • Rodrigo M

The 70 mm theater has the most garbage compact and uncomfortable seating ever. Definitely not worth seeing movies at that theater unless you enjoy uncomfortableness

  • Claus Trier Bang Pedersen

This is what our reserved seats looked like. Stains everywhere. It seems like it has never been cleaned. I am amazed how it is possible for this to go unnoticed.

  • Luke Wang

Dolby cinema is the only seats worth getting here. The experience is fantastic with immersive sound and visuals. The seats are recliners and adjustable.

  • Nate Magner

The A/C was out in theatre 20 and the screen was flickering the entire film. Everyone was sweating throughout the entire movie. Please fix these issues.

  • Catherine Johnson

I moved to Scottsdale, AZ and ALL AMC theaters now have the super comfy recliners with cup holders And a tray for your food! Cali needs to catch up!!

  • Joe Romney

Movie started 30 mins late causing us to miss our dinner plans. There was no communication about what was wrong or why the screen was simply off.

  • MADDY GOULD

Theater was disgusting. Nothing was cleaned from the previous showing. Seats had trash in them and popcorn buckets on the floor with more trash.

  • zenas

No seat warmers, seats not comfy. I expect a lot from San Diego .My local Temecula AMC has all of the up grades The movie was great. Spiderman.

  • Caesar Mazahreh

Seats too close to each other .. Who's arm rest is it‍♂️ .. From now on I will only go to theaters that offer individual seating …

  • Richard White

This is my family's go-to theater. It's just as good as the more popular AMC theater in Fashion Valley Mall, with less people and lines.

  • Christina Taitano

It's always a great time here. Very busy, so soda machines tend to get flat, but the seats are comfy, and the prices are not too crazy.

  • Mac May

Good service, clean theater, but the base and noise from the theater next door ruined quite parts of the movie my group was watching.

  • Gary Akita-Ayres

It checked all the boxes. It was clean. Staff was friendly. I got through the snack line quicker than I expected. I enjoyed my time.
