If out of any of my reviews, this is the most outstanding and important as we all know how difficult it is to find the unicorn of mechanics but people, something magical has happened and the unicorn is real! Alan was referred to me and I will be forever grateful. He is incredibly knowledgeable, personable, honest and highly skilled at what he does. There is no crazy mark up or rubbish where Alan is involved. Not only does he now work on my car which is not an easy one but also has helped me when I’ve had lights flashing on my dashboard. He will help you when you need it and give you the quickest, fastest and most affordable option. This man is a gem and I hope that anyone looking to find a real old school decent mechanic can take their car to him knowing you have found your unicorn. 5 stars and would give him more if I could, highly recommend.

To put it simply, the best auto mechanic I've had so far in over 2 decades of owning cars and an even nicer person who remembers every customer. More specifically, fantastic attention to detail, picking up even the smallest things that anyone else would understandably miss. Very proactive when it comes to preventative maintenance and safety, advising me to change specific parts ahead of them wearing out. As someone who regularly does weekends away with my family, I really value Alan's attention to detail and safety. Very reasonably priced and looks after any car like his own. I recommend calling Alan early to book in as his calendar can get busy due to demand from his many customers.

Alan is the best mechanic in Melbourne. He is extremely trustworthy, honest, reliable and charges a fair price for his services. On a personal level he is so kind, considerate and all round a top bloke. We stumbled across Alan after I was ripped off by another mechanic in the area and he went above and beyond to fix my car and still continues to do so 5 years later. Nothing is too big or too small, he will always give you any help that you need and will always explain what is happening in easy to understand language. I highly recommend Alan to anyone who is considering using his services, I wouldn't go anywhere else now.

I have taken my 2 cars to Alan at AMC for more than 13 years now. He kept by old '83Toyota Corona going long after its used by date. Al is super friendly, honest and reliable. I now travel more than 40 mins to take my car to still as I live on the other side of the city. He is worth the effort as your car will be happy and you can rest assure it's been looked after. He currently looks after our 2011 Subaru Liberty and 1997 Mazda 323. Good attention to detail and highly experienced. Make sure you book ahead as he's very popular. Love your work Al, Trevor.

If there were more than 5 stars I would rate higher! As a young female I have never felt more comfortable taking my car to get serviced than I have with Al. He is honestly the most reliable, trustworthy mechanic you'll ever meet. It is so hard to find an honest mechanic, who is not there to rip you off, so look no further and give Al a call! I have been taking my car to him since I first started driving and have never been let down. Thank you so much Al! Will be a loyal customer for many years to come.

I would give 10 if possible.... Allan is such an honest, reliable mechanic. Most of all he is one of the nicest, down to earth people I've met. Got to know him through a mate of mine and taken my car only twice to him for service.. He fixed my "brake noise" I had for long time before I went him. I go all the way from Noble Park to Heidleberg for the service 'coz I know he will do a highly professional job without any of the cons or over-pricing that you might find at other mechanics.

I've been going to AMC for over 25 years and have always been satisfied with Alan's work. I've also recommended him to my family and friends. Very honest and reliable. He's an amazing man and great mechanic. When l drove my car to Noirth Queensland he asked me to call him on the way to see how the car was going (as its an old car) and to make sure l got there safely. Alan takes pride in his work and he is a really genuine man. Highly recommend him.

Alan is very friendly and down to earth. Always willing to fit you in last minute for a service and is incredibly flexible with drop offs and pick ups. He is very helpful in that he will give you advice on how to keep your car healthy and happy between visits. He is also incredibly honest (even with younger women such as myself) with anything that need fixing, and does it all for a good price. I no longer dread getting my car serviced!

Thanks again Alan for all your advice over the past couple of years. Being a young lass (who doesn't know anything about cars), he's really helped me with 'the right things to say' during ongoing discussions with my car's dealership. I wouldn't know the first thing about my rights as a car owner and that I had been taken advantage of if it wasn't for Alan! My housemate and partner now both go to him too for reasonable servicing!

This guy is a truly amazing. He has a great ability to listen to his patients and somehow they communicate to him what is wrong. They say some people can talk to Animals well I think Big Al can talk to cars. For many years his has nurtured my babies into fine young automobiles that I am proud of. From old petrol V8s to new diesels he is all over every model worth owning and some models not worth owning.

Alan is an absolute legend!! I am so extremely grateful I found him. He takes the time to really listen, explain things and show me what he’s talking about so I understand it completely. He’s always squeezed me in when I’ve called him and is open early so you can drop your car before work easily. If you are looking for a great mechanic whose also extremely nice Alan is your guy!!!

Alan is an extremely nice man and very honest. He did a great job servicing my car and even changed the battery on my key which I had been meaning to do but had not gotten around to. He also gave me a spare battery and told me to bring my spare key whenever convenient and he would fit it for me. I would hesitate to recommend Alan's services.

Fantastic. Hands down best customer service I have ever received on a car service. Parts and labour costs were lower compared to other mechanics. I'll just let all the other 5 star reviews speak for themselves as there's nothing more to add that hasn't already been said. Alan is a true gem, an A+ mechanic and just an all round top bloke. If only we could clone a few more of him as he works too hard! I wouldn't trust my car (or my family's cars) with anyone else.

Allan is an extremely experienced mechanic who really looks after his customers. He has an obvious passion for his work and does it for the love of it. Always the best price and such a friendly person who always has time for you. We travel from 30 mins away to take our 2 cars to him and wouldn't go anywhere else.
