We stopped to fill up a rental car at ARCO at 5201 W Century Blvd a bit after 10:00 AM on Sunday, August 6. We chose it because it was close to our drop off and had the best prices in the area. Because we do not have a zip code (we are Canadians) we could not use a credit card at the pump and we had leftover US cash, my wife went in to pay a $60 deposit while I filled the car to a final total of $22. Because there was a line-up of cars behind me, I moved the car away from the pumps once I was full. My wife went back in to get a refund of the difference and a homeless guy came to the entrance of the store and sprayed something into the store that caused the 2 female workers to cover their faces and exit the store, then after a few minutes they returned and were spraying something inside the store. Meanwhile, my wife had walked through this unknown spray to the talk to the male worker who was at the cash and behind protective glass. She asked him for our refund and he only told her in a dismissive manner that he could not do it because I had moved the car and another car was using a credit card at the pump we used. My wife came back out to tell me about being blown off about our refund and gave me our paper receipt for the $60 and I lined up to talk to him. Once at the start of the line, he explained to me that he could not do the refund until the other car was finished (an explanation he did not offer to my wife) and he provided $32 cash back. At this point the female staff had returned to the store and my wife came in while he was counting out the refund. She asked him what do you think was sprayed by the homeless man that drove the female staff out of the store and he told her "It's none of your business". So 2 complaints. 1. Why do the female staff abandon customers in their store when a homeless man sprays something that drives them out of the store? 2. Why does ARCO tolerate a misogynistic employee to verbally abuse female customers. My wife had every right to an explanation for why he could not process our refund "at that moment", not just "can't do it" and she certainly had every right to know what he understood had been sprayed in the store that drove the 2 female employees out of the store with their hands over their faces. If there is any health issue arising over the next few days, you will certainly be hearing from us.
Never been so humiliated by anyone tell today. I am elderly man with disability stopped to get supplies before heading to our hotel coming from Santa Barbra to pickup our daughter from the airport at the cashier "Daisy" carded me for beer I did not believe it as I left my I'd in the car and I am not a kid "65" so my wife showed her of and said the will pay for it "Daisy" refuses insisting that I to go to the car and get my is I asked for the manager she came and before hearing me out as I request for her both talked in Spanish "she told her that I bad mouthed her and she will not sell me the drinks and asked her to back her up" the manager told them me I'm English not knowing that I understood what they agreed on that whatever Daisy say will be final and she left. My wife went to the car and got my id and that was not the end of it after giving her the money she actually throw the change at me.THIS IS WHAT ARCO EMPLY NOW Arco you have thousands of more qualified people seems of the opportunity to get job and more than keen to help the public willingly even the orderly and disable.Thank you for your service
The machine does not accept my debit card which works well for sure! And the worker inside took my credit card and asked me to go out to fuel my car and then the receipt shows 10.9 in total. However the bank texted me that there are two claims 30 and 150, the strange thing is these two happens in one minute! It is a international credit card. I think you guys know what happened. Usually the purchases will have decimals for sure, the numbers look ridiculous right? I called the bank then and rejected these two claims. I never used this card before' and now I am sure the Mexican woman worker inside made something. I am writing this review in anger cause I have lived in this country in WI for a year and CA really gives me a new impression. When I check the email from my debit card bank I found there first was a 30 dollar purchase rejected. I think the worker tried to "steal" my debit card and failed so that she told me my debit card does not work, and then she stole my credit card! I will also report this thing to ARCO and will not let the 180 dollar go away so easily. No way!
Beware. I was tired and I reclined my chair to catch a snooze at least a 10-minute nap. Inside of those 10 minutes A Street person made his way into my car maybe 12in away from me stole my phone stole my phone charger stole my phone charger cable and actually went looking for my wallet while I was asleep. No one in the store did anyting to help. And no one that Patron the place, I can only assume, did not want to get involved. When I demanded to see the security camera recordings I was told I needed to go back I needed to return to the store the following morning not an easy task when you live an hour and a half away. Why were you there in the first place? I'm a Lyft driver that needs money and I picked up a passenger that needed to get to the airport.
I stop here from time to time even though the guys show open racism. One night one of the old guy darn near laid down on the floor to look around the gundola because he thought I was trying to steal, I told him I have worked all my life and I do not steal. Tonight I ask for restroom key big bald headed guy behind counter said out of order and told me to go to Macdonald’s. While I was preparing my coffee another guy of a lighter skin requested key, bald headed guy behind counter hollow loudly out of order, BUT then directed the light skinned guy to the Employee toilet in the back. The girls here are pretty cool but the guys need to be on an alligator farm.
I went for quick fill ups, gas and food. I understand that they can't have condiments ( peppers, onions, relish, etc) as usual due to Covid. But how about napkins? Seriously anyone grabbing food/snacks here is in a hurry, I can put chili & cheese on my burger but not able to clean any spillage. Have to wait till I go to cashier, request napkins and you hand me one? I bought 2 chili cheese burgers and wanted to clean the counter after myself. This cashier was kind, understanding, respectful, couteous and the only reason I am giving 2 stars.
Great Gas station, very handy, clean and not too expensive, you can fuel yourself cash or credit cards acceptable and they have a mini market, very nice and clean, found my favorite snacks and drinks, the employee was very nice, polite and made sure that I got everything, everything looked very clean and they follow all the biosecurity offerings gel soap and cleaning after every costumer, it's very close to the LAX, I really have a great experience ✌
This store has definitely people without training Just purchased a bottle of coke the bottle was opened and when I left and tried to take a sip of the drink it found the seal broken I call and try to explain the girl who answered the phone very unprofessional told they don’t do refund on food I told her not expecting refund just exchange And she hung up on me and left the phone off the hook so I wouldn’t call back
I used this gas station frequently during a stay at the holiday inn beside it. Music is blasting out across the forecourt 24 hours a day and there are lots of homeless people hanging around outside. Very good selection of coffee and creamer options. Good point is that you can walk in 24 hours, service is not through a window hatch, unlike the other gas station across the street.
Maria is a rude employee and she discriminated against others and myself. Asked to use the restroom age declined. Even after telling her I would buy something and pump gas. She just said no, with no reason or explanation. She also denied a woman and her child. As I looked over to the restroom a white man came out the restroom thanking her. White man always win right?
The Manager Cindy is a dirty individual and it reflects on the state of the store(am/pm). The condiment dispenser is dirty and as a result squirted my work shirt. I told the manager cindy and she said it was my fualt... but clearly the machine is dirty and unkept... Cindy needs a new job as she is failing at keeping a welcoming atmosphere at this arco station
Most pumps out of service and the pumped cheated me out of Gas it just kept Ed clicking and I out another gallon to top of the car and nothing it just dripped I lost 10 and had to go to another gas station just to top off the car so I can return it to the rental place avoid this gas station
Very busy arco. Because of where it is located there at La Cienega and Century, it is constantly busy right outside of LAX. It is also a little bit difficult to exit out towards the airport, as Century there is three lanes on each side and people speed very quickly on that street.
I visit this gas station when I am near Los Angeles International Airport. I find what you would expect in a gas station that also has a convince store incorporated into it. This location can get very busy with people returning their rental cars before they depart on their flight.
Gas was only $5.79 a gallon I can't believe I just said that everywhere else in town was at least $0.19 / $6 pretty soon we're all going to have to walk that being said it was a decent gas station and they didn't put a hold on our debit card which we appreciated
Gas station is pretty dirty and the quality of diesel fuel that I got was not as good as other stations. As soon as I started my truck it burned differently with this fuel. As soon as I put different fuel in later on it burned clean and ran fine
I pulled into the driveway to refuel and there were "Out of Order" signs all over the pumps. The attendee said it was "ok" as she removed the sign from Pump #1, but I had to pay inside. I went in and Pump #1 didn't show on her screen; I did
Stopped in to top of fuel tank on our rental car before returning it near LAX airport then was curiously meet by the shuttle driver promptly to drop us off at our Airlines check in stop. Dang the cost of gas in California is REDICULOUS!!!
Horrible. Came here and not only did the machine not give me a receipt, upon knocking on the window the employees said "hey, you out of luck, the pumps are open and that's enough for most people" and went back to what they were doing.
Stopped in briefly to pick up a few beverages after flying into town after getting settled in the hotel. It was clean, didn't appear to have ridiculous price markups in place and the person behind the counter was pleasant.
Asked attendant for $40 on pump 12, they put it on 4 and lectured me twice on giving them the wrong pump number. Threatened that if someone else used pump 4, I would lose money. Be careful, they have hearing problems.
Bad Experience Buying Here, Never Will Be Back Here .. A Starbucks For $4.80 And I Told Them I Prefer 2 For $5.00 They Didnt Wannt it To Make The Process Idk Why They Are Like We CAN'T Its Too Late ... #^$<%*÷;#
There is always a problem, they don't take credit cards or there machine is broken or SOMETHING... I've given them chance after chance well I'm tired now Shell gas station here I come. Really I give them no stars
I always stop here when I'm near LAX. It's a welcome break in my journey and I get a 24oz Hot Chocolate for only$2.09. It makes the drive on California's crowded freeways much less stressful.
The staff was really nice to us when we had a question. The homeless on the outside made it a little sketchy but I can't place blame on someone who's homeless. They didn't bother anyone.
Quick and convenient and they take debit. Prices were a lot reasonable than the gas stations next to it. The only thing was there were a couple of panhandlers asking for gas money.
It's awalys clean Thanks to the lady Maria when she's not there the place looks disgusting!! Maria always brings a smile to the customer's everyone loves her!
Very busy traffic with small pump area, quite a lot of times that cars have to line up and wait outside the road, efficient check, fair good price and clean
Run down facilities. More than half the pumps on the islands were non-functional. Too bad, I remember a time when this gas station was the best in town
All sorts of shady characters and lurkers here. Avoid at night. Several pumps not working. No paper at pump so can't get receipt without going inside.
Even you want to buy a small bottle of wine for her and only one bottle beer for him one ID is not enough. Unbelievible, the Californians . …
Good location, but tight lot, hard to reach with bad traffic and I had to try THREE pumps to find one with a working Credit Card reader.
Nice staff. Be careful of people who aggressively solicit money. They walk between cars and come up behind people as they pump gas.
Worst cashier!! Don’t remember name but mid age Mexican woman ! Don’t know coustmer service and rude ! Sorry arco need to improve !
Lizz is very rude and disrespectful. For no reason. She was outside talking to her boyfriend and got mad. I walked in the store.
I love this place, really convenient on my way to Montclair. Excellent customer service and the prices are so reasonable. ❤️
Very helpful! Kind staff, compassionate and even printed me a second receipt after I lost the first one! Highly recommend!!
This place relies heavily on its location prices are high and it's always packed. Nothing great about it, just convenient.
If you're looking for a place to buy fuel and use the restroom, don't stop here. Their restrooms are closed to the public
this place is expensive and not big on choices. I hate when they take advantage of their location to double the prices.
Gas is cheap comparatively and is close to airport rental car return. You may encounter homeless people around.
Clean, price's ok Not great due to location, its pretty much always packed w/cars due to location..
I buy gas here with my friend bodybuilding Ash on our way back to Beverly Hills from a car auction
Great gas prices. Just hate the fee to use debit card, I drive Lyft I fill up 2 times a day
AM/PM...Too much good stuff! Especially the fresh baked cookies and fresh brewed coffee.
Quick stop to get gas and snacks Beverages and More restrooms available for the public
My gas station in L.A. before returning rental cars. This is the place to fill em up.
The station is a good location and price. Parking lot is small and hard to maneuver
Nice to get gas in business district, but rough clientele. Bathroom was not clean.
Gas was cheapest in the area. Paid .35 additional to use debit card at the pump.
Gas is gas is gas. But not all bathrooms are created equal, and this one sucks.
I come here for my cigars every time I land at LAX. Wish they had beer though.
Community station,we'll lite 24hrs centrally located, reasonably priced gas
Just as it says, it is a gas station with possibly the lowest gas prices..
Poor service the lady in there was so annoying and definitely ofenciv
This was a great place to get coffee in the morning and cheaper gas!
Credit card wasn't working at pump, always a line for the bathroom.
30 cents cheaper than all others in area. Tight parking lot though.
Can't pay at the pump how to go inside time-consuming and crowded
Clean and close to LAX for filling rentals before you return them
Use to be well-priced, not anymore. Difficult to use credit cards
Didnt go inside but easy off freeway before returning car rental
Love the AM/PM Scratchers app. Arco and AM/PM is the way to go.
Nice filling station with assorted homeless beggars out front.
Very busy place to stop. 2 cashiers working very efficiently.
You know what's not good they charge you to use a credit card
Crowded and more expensive than places a couple of miles away
Affordable good quality of gasoline with a convenient shop.
Friendly staff but dirty store ouod use a good cleaning
Customer service excellent and clean and fully stocked
The employees have no manners.. not friendly at all...
Way better prices than the chevron across the street.
Best place to fill gas before return your rental car.
Best prices for the gasoline. Good service and shop.
I hate the 35¢ extra charge when you pay with debit.
Staff is super friendly and willing to accommodate.
had problems with nozzle stopping on my vw passat.
Always covient fast in and out service nice staff
Gas prices are still reasonable at this location.
The worst and slower gas station the I've use it.
They let people PARK at the pumps and pan-handle.
Very nice people small selection mainly for gas.
Convenient and cheeper than other gas stations!
Conveniently located for LAX car hire refuels.
Good place for gas. Had to ask for a receipt.
No over priced snacks and amazing service.
High fuel prices. But it's Los Angeles. ❤️
Gasoline is over a dollar compared with tx
Reasonably priced gas and quick service.
Usually has good prices. Came here a lot
Good Price, and easy in asznd easy out..
Very congested. Lots of upset motorists
Easy! Next to The car rental places....
Clean and stocked, just what I needed.
Quivk & nice service with nice staffs.
Gas nozzles worked perfectly here. A+
Convenient and easy to get in and out
Self service station located near LAX
Good gas prices but that's about it.
