This place...this place! It's probably the best drinking experience I've ever had and that's saying something. I'm never one to overexaggerate but this is truly a must see for anyone in Berlin and probably the best thing I've seen in this city. The guy behind the bar knows his stuff, he's perfected a very difficult type of alcohol and has made the makeshift bar area, which is rather small, into a functional experience which has an honest belle epilogue feel to it. I can't lie though, I was sceptical at first. I've always tried to avoid the tourist traps and, most importantly, I try not to drink myself into a mess. Neither seemed avoidable but I found myself doing the impossible. After one drink I remained somewhat drunk, but cognizant and I found myself talking with the people around me. It's not fantastically big so talking is going to be a casualty of the experience. I reckon that's the only downside. If you're looking for the authentic Absinthe experience, where you drink yourself under a table and sit alone dreaming of green fairies, it's probably not gonna work out. I mean realistically you've hit rock bottom at that point, you should really get help. It's an experience an excellent one at that. Really, check it out. I might never spend so much time writing a review for a place like this ever again.

Ich bin absolut kein Fachmann auf dem Gebiet der Spirituosen und eher zufällig in den Laden gekommen. Auch habe ich noch niemals zuvor Absinth getrunken. Trotzdem kam ich am Ende sehr angetan wieder heraus, was nicht nur an dem wirklich leckeren Absinth (ich hatte die Hausmarke für 5€/Glas, köstlich...) sondern auch an Laden, übrigen Gästen und Inhaber des Geschäftes lag. Der Laden ist einfach urig, man fühlt sich in die 20er Jahre zurückversetzt, das Publikum ist international und gut miteinander im Gespräch, der Inhaber freundlich und kompetent, man hat den Eindruck, dass er seinen Job mit Leidenschaft macht. Gerne hätte ich eine Flasche mitgenommen, dummerweise hatte ich mich aus Zeitgründen erstmals seit Jahren mit dem Flugzeug nach Berlin begeben. Nächstes Mal also, ich komme bestimmt wieder! Absolute Empfehlung!

The atmosphere feels like what I would imagine a Parisian absinthe lounge visited by Oscar Wilde to be like. The main drawback is that there is no restroom. Our group tried three different traditional absinthes: Angelique, Lemercier, and a white one whose name I've forgotten. We each settled (conveniently) on different favorites after tasting each one. I preferred the Angelique because of the molasses notes. The service was very friendly and knowledgable. They also offer interesting sodas and beer (the beer is only to-go). Smoking is allowed inside and a few specialty cigars and cigarettes are sold there.

Habe online im Absynthdepot bestellt. Bestellung ging gleich am Folgetag raus. Die Post hat dann leider fast 2 Wochen gebraucht um das Paket mit dem Postfahrzeug in das Startpaketzentrum zu transportieren, aber eigentlich war das ganz cool weil sich dadurch ein sehr entspannter Mailverkehr mit dem Absinthdepot ergeben hat. Da ich aufgrund der Entfernung nicht vor Ort einkaufen konnte fand ich es ganz nett auf diese Weise noch einen kleinen Einblick zu bekommen. Fazit: Sehr nette Leute, große Auswahl, und (eigentlich) auch super schnelle Lieferung! Immer gern wieder :)

Wunderschöner Laden mit einer großen und großartigen Auswahl an Absinthe. Auch darüber hinaus gibt es einige flüssige Schmuckstücke von Mezcal über Wermut bis zu Quinquina. Zusätzlich ist das Depot seiner Geschichte als Berliner Späte treu geblieben. Das heißt, es gibt auch noch Nachts Zigaretten und Bier zum mitnehmen. In der aktuellen Situation ist der Ausschank und der Aufenthalt natürlich nur eingeschränkt möglich, aber ich bin froh, dass ich mich auch während der Corona-Zeit auf das Absinthdepot verlassen konnte!

Absinthdepot is a very special place in Berlin, the decoration look like a very old bar . You can only drink absinthe in the depot but you also can buy oder nice drink like special bier and vodka and wine .They have a very original choise of very testy drinks . This place you can smoke but is no toillette because is not realy a bar is a depot . The best time to go their is when martial working ,he is very passionate about absinthe. The worst time is when the boss is working he as a negative energie.

Wirklich exzellent! Ich war auf der Suche nach einem Absinth bis 35 € und ohne künstliche Farb- und Aromastoffe und mit Anis. Ich durfte drei Absinthe probieren und gleich der erste war genau der richtige. Der Preis ist auch nur schlappe 2 % über dem günstigsten online Preis und es gibt auch Onlineshops, die bis zu 25 % mehr verlangen und das ohne persönliche Beratung und Verköstigung. Ich kann wirklich nur jedem, der sich für Absinth interessiert, empfehlen, diesen Laden einmal zu besuchen.

Sagte ich schon mal, dass ihr Klasse seid? Scheinbar nicht hier. Der erste Kontakt mit Absinth in Berlin und das seid Jahren. Tolle Beratung, unglaubliche Auswahl, super Ambiente Wer billigen Absinth sucht, der fährt besser nach Tschechien und wer einfach nur Hacke werden will, kauft im Supermarkt Stroh 80. Wer aber wirklich Absinth aus Genussgründen entdecken will und "seinen" Favorit finden möchte, der ist hier bestens aufgehoben.

_the_ place to go for absinthe in berlin. i was afraid of nothing proper and only tourist traps, but this one appeared to be what i would absolutely love to see in every town. this is how absinthe should be brought back respecting it's actual roots (belle epoque era europe, and the actual beverage being really tasty and fine) instead of vampire teeth, psychedelic lighting and burning a drink that looks and tastes like poison.

Great selection and good people. Though I recommend going when it's not too busy. Early afternoon when they open would give you the most time to talk to the shop keeper if you'd like to talk or ask for a few recommendations. Oh and don't bother with the Bairnsfather swill the keep on the counter. I wouldn't serve that to anyone. Even with great bottles on the shelf, they still stock a lot of green crap for the tourists.

If you are looking for a special place for absinthe and beer, that is a place to drop by. Small, but very impressive. More of a shop than a bar. You can order your drink and stand or sit at one of the few tables. If you are not an expert and do not know what you want to drink, you will receive great recommendations by very friendly staff. And if you politely as to take a picture,you will be allowed.

One of our favourite stops during our 10-day stay. Maybe #1 ;-) Several available to drink on site. Fantastically, one of those were exactly what we went in to purchase solely based on its global reviews!? We left with 3 large bottles to stuff in the suitcase, and 3 shop-owner suggestions in miniature bottles. We had 3 on site. We’re clearly into the magic!

Berlin is modernized but this place sounds like something from the past. A whole absinth assortment like I have never seen before. Old looking jars with silver dispensers from where absinth comes out to vintage looking glasses. There is also a shelf with Schnapps. Go for the Hazelnut one. The staff is very friendly. Not a lot of places to seat.

This was a nice absinthe bar to stop by on the way around town. They had a pretty extensive collection of absinthe to try. Having never tried it before, we asked the bartender to recommend a few, which turned out pretty decent. The only issue I had with the place was how smoky it was inside. All in all, not a bad first absinthe experience.

Leider kann ich dem Ländchen nur eine mindere Bewertung geben,da das beste bei unserem Besuch der optische Eindruck des Ladens an sich und die zwei netten Gäste an der Tür waren. Zwar war der Mensch hinter der Theke schon irgendwie lustig, aber seine super mürrische Ausstrahlung war alles andere als zum Kauf verleitend. Schade ;)

Ein ganz spezieller Laden. Voll cool und eigen. Mit freundlicher Bedienung und vielen Sorten Absinth zum vor Ort probieren. Zu kaufen gibt es noch mehr Sorten. Und alles was zum Thema Absinth gehört. Zigarren gibt's auch. Tolle Location für die Großstadterfahrung und einen Absacker vor dem ins-Bett-gehen am Samstag Abend.

I love this place, I have been here so many times. It has the biggest collection of absinthe drinks I have seen. Not only is it an absinthe store please also an absinthe bar. I would definitely recommend this place especially if you're a tourist because you won't see anything like this in America.

This place is great but no pictures allowed inside... to show it. They have a huge selection of absinth in bottle and 10 types to taste in house. The owner is very friendly and helpful if you need a guidance to choose your absinth. It's very well located and not made for groups.

Large selection of Absinth. The person in charge is Knowledge and patient. Free sampling and a small bar to buy a shot or two. Normally no photos allowed, but he takes it easy if the group buys 2+ bottles. I visited it many years ago and i'm glad they are still doing well

The selection of absinthe and other spirits, as well as speciality beers is truly breathtaking. Just know that when you're buying a little bottle of green tourist absinthe, the staff are judging you. One of my favourite places to hang out for a drink and a smoke.

I was too stupid to use the web form correctly and ordered for pick up instead by mail delivery. They pretty much instantly emailed me to ask if pick up was correct, my friday order arrived on monday in Bonn. Great customer support on their end!

The classic presentation with spoon and sugar is attractively displayed at the storefront, but when you want your absinth served that way, you are told that it is for cheap or bitter absinth and it is not served like that there …

It's a small, local and cozy bar. The staffs are friendly. The absinth taste in the depot is much better than most absinths made in normal bars. I frequently go there, I recommend it to anyone who wants to taste something different ☺️
