Though I have not been to every bowling alley and recreation center at all the US military bases located around the world, this one would have to be the epi-center if not the flagship of the Navy's bowling alleys. I am being slightly impartial because I did grow up bowling these lanes;) Experiencing and seeing many of the changes it has undergone throughout the years, the variety of entertainment and recreational options offered here have very few peers in the military. Even on the outside! It has 40 lanes, some arcade games(far fewer than in previous years), bar, cafe(affordable and delicious food items to ease an appetite), billiard tables, chairs and desks for online gamers, video machines to play card games, pro shop, MWR gear rental shop, MWR ITT center, and a banquet hall. Always had excellent customer service throughout the years, and the consistentency was proven on recent visits. The quality and price of food and drink gets a 5.0 for its eval rating. Newer added items populate the food menu(they offer their very own California Burrito), and some OG classics remain. Highly recommend the tuna melts:p Despite the multitude of entertainment and recreational options that are available nowadays, a change up is always good to do every once in awhile. It can be more crowded on the weekends or when their is a league playing. The best prices for bowling is on Monday. All day at $1.50 per game. So what are you doing?! Take your family and friends to have some fun! It is not a 'Commandatory' fun requirement that you go bowling this instant... but there is a far better and immediate satisfaction in accurately positioning and hurtling a round circumferential heavy projectile from afar, down a narrow path that has a deceptive appearance, into 10 standing objects; than say, you smacking a smaller circumferential round object with a club. The sound is unmistakable the moment all ten objects go careening into various directions. Quite gratifying, and more affordable too!! A complete shame the lanes at 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. are not seeing any worthwhile pin action...

Prices were Great. $9 an Hour per Lane or $1.75 / Game. System is a little strange in that anything your purchasing - Lane Time, Shoe Rental, Soft Drinks and Food needs to be paid for at the front desk. One Girl at the front desk has to deal with all purchases, mechanic requests, etc. Stay Away from Lane 29 ! It was plagued with multiple pin placement faults and lock-ups requiring persistent resets and Mechanic Attention. Probably takes 3-4x as long to play a game on this lane due to delays. Plus it's frustrating and doesn't allow a smooth experience. We had rented two lanes side x side so we could really keep things rolling for our 6 Person Party. Lane 29 put the brakes to that idea. We were given enough time finish out our second game and the staff was helpful and nice.

Between 32nd street and NASNI for bowling..... go to NASNI for bowling... 32nd is so crowded, and the set up is not very user friendly. The drinks only come a cup at a time, and you have to pay for each one. Whereas the soda at NASNI comes in a pitcher, and free refills. The family deals are more expensive at 32nd, and the shoes are very old and smelly. The bathrooms are disgusting!!! It would be better to go to a public bowling alley than here. Just not a good experience at all!!!

I went to order a philly cheese steak and onion rings and finally I got my order with fries and the I told the lady I ordered the onion rings and she said I can’t substitute the fries with onion rings so but she didn’t told me this when I had payed for my order. And I had to purchase the onion rings. She was rude and had a straight face the whole time. Not very good customer service but the food was good.

Great Place for a Fun Time, for All Ages!!! 40 lanes of bowling, pro-shop and MWR/ITT services. Cable tv, and a Good Snack Bar with everything from Burgers and fries, to Wings and pizza. Salads and other sandwiches also!!! Huge game and billiards room, full size bar, and smoking allowed outside!! …

Our lane constantly broke down and we had to wait for repairs, which is a big issue since you pay by the hour and they refused to compensate us for the maintenance time and refused to swap us to a lane that worked. The lady even called us liars when we said that the lane was breaking down.

Bowling alley food is pretty good, I'm a big fan of the breakfast choices. The lanes are open most times for bowling and it's free for military on Tuesday. The MWR has a very helpful staff to assist with tickets to shows and rental equipment for weekend adventures.

  • Philip Mondy

Awesome place is you are military. They have nice pool and pinic areas. The best part though is the club house. Sunday brunch is awesome, I wouldn't say it's the best but it certainly is in the top 5 in San Diego. Just make sure you have a reservation though.

Para distraerse del diario del trabajo. Este lugar está súper bien. Para divertirse y olvidarse de sus problemas por un momento de verdad lo recomiendo. Se la van a pasar súper bien. Ade más muy saludable. Para la familia es un esparcimiento. Saludable

  • Brianna Clark

Half of the lanes didn't work. When we finally got to a lane that did, it cut off our game halfway through. They definitely need some technical assistance but the staff were very nice and did their best to help with the ill working devices.

  • Debbie Horner

It is a great place to bowl a few quick games. You never have to wait for a lane. They have pretty good food too.We had chicken strips and grilled cheese .They keep the place nice and clean too.The employees there are quiet nice.

  • Paco Jerome Morris

While this place is good for bowling, nothing else is going for this spot. Cashiers are rude and very unprofessional, shouting at the kitchen and does not care at all with customers. No customer service etiquette whatsoever.

  • Matthew A

I went here for a week just for a Navy class, but I have to say it is a pretty cool place. Seems to be pretty popular for bowlers and they have a game room too! Lots of games and at least 20 tables for billiards!

  • Gen Man

Many lanes available for people who love to bowl! They have some pool tables as well and a few arcade games that actually work. Good place to just spend a little time to have fun or socialize

  • Tommy Izurieta

Low key kinda mid, the lane we had broke once or twice and the dude at the counter was kinda mean and one ignored me when I asked for a drink. Beside that it was alright, well polished.

  • Raymond Porciuncula

Reminder, this is not open to the public...... I love this place, has 40 lanes and very cheap price. Has 8 billiard tables and arcades inside. They also have a bar and cafe.

  • Lane Patrick

If you're on base, this is the place to go. The prices are insanely cheap and all the staff is super friendly. I've been coming here for two years and I absolutely love it.

  • wendell burgess

Terrible service and attitude from the chef himself who chose to cuss at me in front of my family when I simply asked is the pizza ready.

  • Jeff Barteldt

It's a bowling alley on a Navy base. When you have no car, it's a good place to get a drink and walk back to your room... or ship.

  • Jayson Murphy

Nice looking lanes for a military base, bigger than MCRD. However they have more technical issues than in larger/ modern lanes.

  • Sandy Sandecki

It's never crowded and the prices are good also you can practice without strobe lights like Bowlero has going most of the time.

  • Chaplain Kirk

Good place to go for military families who love bowling out together and having fun together. A good place to sweat and bond.

  • Dae Neal

This is a fun place for military to relax especially if you are junior enlisted. Cheap games along with food and beverages

  • Elaine Bryant

Bowling lanes are usually available. Pro shop very helpful, large arcade and ticket office all under one roof.

  • Genis Artiaga

Nice bowling alley, but the machine tends to stop working and that messes up scores and makes you loose time.

  • andrew smith

Great fields. The fields are astroturf, but they are very padded. Lots of parking unlike most of the base.

  • Andrew Schroedl

Good on base bowling center. Food is good, prices are what you would expect for a bowling place.
