This was my first experience with a car rental agency in Scarborough and I was not disappointed. It was an easy and simple experience with no headaches. I made an appointment online after checking out what services/vehicle I wanted to rent and for what time period. The website was simple, easy to understand and straight forward. I chose the Honda Civic 2018 model with insurance which cost me $224 for 4 days. Without the added insurance it would have been about $100~ less expensive. I read the fine print and everything else before going through with the purchase and was happy to see that this place does not have any hidden fees. The number that I saw online was the exact same number I paid for in person. The car was clean and provided everything that I really needed in a vehicle. However, I did order a Honda Civic and was instead upgraded to the Ford Fusion without any extra added fees due to the Honda Civic not being available during my pick up time. I was okay with this because the website stated " Or similar vehicle " and was open to that. Although I was disappointed in not getting the Honda Civic I was completely fine with the Fusion. Make sure to check your car for any and all kinds of damages that are already present when you pick up the car. Fill the gas up with the same amount as you received it or more. Ask about what to do if anything were to happen to the vehicle (randomly stops/unable to turn on/ accidents etc) And make sure to bring it back in time or you may incur extra charges. For buyers who are interested in going with Advantage I would highly recommend them as a reliable and easy to work with car rental service. I would advise you to always book an appointment online and do not rely on being able to walk-in for a car. The business has a very limited fleet and has yet to expand it. I noticed their rise in business and I would expect them to expand their fleet soon to meet demands. Great service, great vehicle and easy to work with. Make an appointment and you should be good to go.

I'm a return customer to Advantage, usually renting from the Danforth location. I needed a truck so I called up and was redirected to this location. Called up and ordered a 16 foot truck, and was told I'd be guaranteed a cargo van if the truck was already taken. The next day I get a call asking what times I need it for, again guaranteed at least a cargo van. Day before the pickup I call to confirm the booking. I was expecting a call but I had to call to them. The guy confirmed I would get a van at least. Morning of the pickup I'm waiting for them to open and the lot is empty. The guy (Barag) arrives and brings me straight in and then he is on the phone and on his cell phone at the same time, and is explaining to me there is no van or truck. The client who had the van didn't return it on time and it won't be back until 11am. The best he could do for me was a Caravan and he would try and get me the van when it was returned at 11am. What option had I got, I took the deal and got on with it. 11am came and went, no call. I called in the afternoon and was told the van still wasn't back. My neighbor ended up renting a U-Haul trailer and he moved the bigger furniture for me. All of this stress and headache because someone didn't return a van on time. The caravan was clean but smelled like an ashtray. UPDATE The original review got me a lot of follow up calls from the guy who dealt with me on the day, the store manager (Raj), and I asked to talk to the Regional manager (Lil) also. Great communication and offers from all involved, but this issue still happened, albeit it was out of everyone's control. Regional management have advised they will look into having better controls/deterrents in place for customers who go over their rental timeframe.

This place is a complete rip off. We reserved a car online (standard size as we are tall people needing the space), and once we arrived to pick up the car, we were given a Ford Focus, which is not the car we reserved (even though when I called earlier to confirm the car, I was told it was there waiting for us.) When I asked further about the car, the Rep said that the Ford is an Intermediate Car, and is therefore larger than the Standard. I would've argued further but I realized that it was because they didn't have any other cars (except an SUV) for us to choose from. So instead of accepting their mistake, they lied to us and KEPT THE SAME RATE AS THE STANDARD CAR. This ticked me off. Now when I check their website, all the quoted prices are different than what they were on Friday. Honestly I will never rent from nor recommend them ever for personal or business use. Wondering about the car? Well we were told it was in perfect working condition, but once we started driving it, you could tell there was definitely something wrong with the brakes. A squeaky rumbling sound. We also couldn't figure out how to recline the seats. Being very tall people, we were seriously uncomfortable in this rental car.

They should change their name to DISadvantage. I recently rented a Honda Civic from there. I returned it with a tiny chip in the window that they didn't see but it was upfront about it. The cause was unknown but I'm guessing it was from a pebble or something of that nature from driving on the highway. The gentlemen at the counter wanted me to sign an insurance claim and said they would send me the bill. Obviously I refused as he wanted me to pay $1,000 deductible from insurance to get the chip repaired. I personally contacted Star Glass Repair who quoted me only $40 to fix the minor damages. When I returned from the repair both of the front desk men were very rude, and proceeded to speak in their language in an aggressive tone. I didn't react to their actions but I just thought it was rude. There are so many other car rentals on Sheppard alone that I would suggest driving 2minutes west and visit Avis instead. Much better customer service and rates.

I have made reservations at multiple Advantage Car & Truck Rentals locations across the GTA, and for the most part, I have always received great service - ESPECIALLY from Raj at the Scarborough location on Sheppard Avenue East. Whenever I have needed anything, he was always very helpful, accommodating and customer-centric in his approach to dealing with people. Besides general affordability and convenience, I would HIGHLY suggest renting from Advantage Car & Truck Rentals. Ask for him if you plan on doing so. PS. The only thing I would say needs to change is their overall fleet. Some of the vehicles they rent out are, for the most part, fairly recent models, however, some of them are starting to age and you can tell this from the amount of kilometers customers have racked up on them. Besides this, I would still rent from them.

This is my second time using their service and I was more than happy with the exceptional customer service provided by Raj at their McCowan/Shepherd location in Scarborough, Ontario. I have read their reviews and I totally agree with the overwhelming positive reviews. Honestly, I suspect there is more than meets the eye for many of the few negative reviews. They were very understanding when my flight was switched which delayed my arrival/pickup of the vehicle by a few days. There were also some other issues which they were more than happy to assist me with and I left them as an extremely satisfied customer. I highly recommend doing business with this company/location, the prices are amazing and their staff (especially Raj) are courteous and flexible with excellent customer service, unlike a lot of their competitors.

Rude employees. The girl sitting in front, was so arrogant. I agree there are requirements, but I had called earlier to book the car. To make a sale they called us to the store, saying okay sir come. When we asked questions about why we have to share the last three digits of our credit card, super mature and intelligent answer from that girl was, "that is how it is" So we didn't rent from them! Also, people were roaming around in shorts, hello? Are you at your home or in an office? Also, the girl asked me where I live, i told her Mississauga, she suspiciously and stupidly said why are you renting from Scarborough then? Who are you to decide? Do your job dont poke in personal life, Job that I think these guys should be trained a lot more for. Literally, unprofessional and bad atmosphere. Worst rental store. Worst!

As 21 year old that has his own car, car insurance and a high credit score, getting a rental should be an easy task. When I first called I was approved to pick up a car. Then they called back and asked me my name, when it was told to them on the first phone call. A man put me on hold and I could hear the conversation. The women was rude, I could hear her say “charge him more money”. Then she answered the phone and told me to “call Enterprise they will rent to you”. In this case without a doubt I was blatantly discriminated against. Not only because of age but also my name. I would never recommend this rental company to anybody. Take your money and spend it with a company that respect its customers. This incident happened Friday, April 26th, 2019.

I rented a 8 seater Kia Caravan from Advantage Car and Truck Rentals Scarborough. My experience with the entire team at Scarborough was exceptional. Raj and his team went way above and beyond in giving excellent customer service. At the time of booking they made sure that I had proper insurance. They gave me the car early in the morning at 7:45 AM. The car was neat and clean and the guys there helped me even to configure my blue tooth so that I could use car play. Raj even called me a weak before to reconfirm my booking. Overall I am so happy with the service that I would recommend this place to all my friends and to everyone. Raj and team thanks for the wonderful service. I will certainly come back again!...............

Update on my review After this horrible experience, I was able to reach out to Lil (who's is the Regional Manager for Advantage Car & truck rentals) we spoke in length in regards to my issues, she reassured changes will be made! It wasn't your usual typical corporate spiel. I truly felt as she understood as well as connected with me. She did address all of the issues and made things right, which I'm grateful for. She turned a sour experience into a positive one; We went from never wanting to rent from them to we have a future reservations with them. Many thanks to Lil, she is amazing and outstanding Manager, a true definition of excellence, efficiency and commitment to customers service.

It’s a first time experience for me with this company, having a rental replacement through my dealership (Ford) for two weeks, It was extended for two more weeks, I didn’t even feel like I’ve missed my car, I had gotten to like this one a (Ford Escort), leaving my everyday tags in it, considering it my own, after the months of having this car I had to give it up, unfortunately. In doing so I have left my daily tag in it for nearly 2 months. It wasn’t a problem at all. It’s at work but I dawn on me one day. These guys are a scam, zero customer service. If I could give 0 stars I would. We had reserved a 16' cube van for our moving day 2 weeks in advance. When we got there in the morning we were told they rented it out to someone else for an hour they would be back in 20 mins, two hours later they are now telling me they have no truck on my moving day. Apparently the truck was never returned the night before. We received no call the night before advising of any changes, nothing but lies and half truths and nothing to accommodate us for their mistakes. I WILL NEVER do business with them ever again. Avoid this company at all cost.

I have rented two of their trucks to move my things from GTA to Kitchener. Mr. Raj was the branch Manager. Had a pleasant overall experience. 1. Excellent customer service. 2. Flexible hassle free pick up and drop off locations. Got my trucks on time and also they have late night drop off option. 3. New model trucks with exceptional fuel consumption. This saved me a lot of money in fuel, since I have to do multiple trips. 4. Got the best price in the market. 5. Great customer service and good communication. 6. I highly recommend for cars and truck rentals.

Easy and quick rental process with excellent service that makes you feel at ease. That's why I use their services regularly. I interacted with Raj, Dhanush and John. All of them are very friendly, accommodating and willing to have a conversation which makes you feel comfortable. The prices are very reasonable and vehicles are always available, clean, well maintained and relatively new. They also offer all the insurance and add on services as options to have a worry free driving experience. I don't intend to look anywhere else for my car rental needs.

I am really feeling the urge to share this store with you guys since it is the most recommended car rental store I have ever had! First of all, their cars are new and clean. I got a brand new Hyundai Elantra with less than 2000km mileages from them! Second, the procedure is simple and convenient. They have direct connection with insurance companies so if you have insurance coverage, you don’t even need to pay for the rental and they will contact your insurance company for you. I will definitely recommend this store to my family and friends.

I am a regular renter for this company and my experience over the past 6 month has been excellent and I keep returning every month due to the superb service. This place is by far the worst customer service experience I have ever faced. I guess if you are “BROWN” you get some kinda of appropriate customer service. After waiting 30 mins while no other customers were in the store the manage started giving me and my mom the worst attitude after being patient and polite for him to finish his cell phone call. We continued to show respect even tho he was very nasty towards us. Now that I’m home I am upset at myself that I even support a place that treated me so poorly . Never again

Highly recommended! Raj is the guy. Wasted my time looking for a deal at the Toronto airport location and was left with no car availability even after reservation in advance for a long weekend. This is my favorite place to rent a car and more often they offer better pricing than other rental places. Their cars are clean, tidy and they mostly have a new cars. I used to rent Ford fusion for reasonable prices and their staff are very friendly especially Raj who is very customer attentive and flexible. There was one time i had to wait for 45 mins to receive my car and they gave me new Jeep wrangler instead of usual fusion for my patience. I definitely recommend this place for rental!!

I recently rented a Honda CRV at the Advantage Car & Truck at Sheppard & McCowan. I was looking for a vehicle to rent on the Saturday of a long weekend. Owner Raj came through for me with fast, friendly service and gave me some choices without inflating the price. I felt I was treated fairly and respectfully with "service for the customer" first and foremost in mind. Vehicles are great! Raj and his efficient staff are number 1!! Highly recommend Raj at Advantage! Five stars all the way!!

This place is definitely short staffed and doesn't respond to customer queries within a week or even two! When called for seeking clarification on the money deducted we were asked to call back later as they were busy!! Deducting hundreds off dollars off the account for a scratch with no accountability for over 6 weeks. We lost our peace of mind and the whole process of having to continuously follow-up begging a response from the team has left us mentally tormented! not recommended.

We rented a very decent car (Ford Fusion) from this place, the Store Manager Raj and his Associate Adhi and the rest of the staff are very accommodating and friendly. They give us a very good deal for like a brand new car and we had a best trip experience to Montreal and Toronto. My whole family really appreciate the service. I have been renting from Advantage for over 20 years and I am rating them a 5 star for recognizing the great service I have received from Raj and his drivers. I am however not happy with the service from Sue whom filled in for Raj. She was not very personable, charged me an additional charge on top of my weekly rental charge, asked me to return my rental 3 hours earlier for another renter and did not follow up with me when I inquired about a lost item.

Not impressed with the customer service at this location. The lady never smiled never explained anything just demanded my driver's license credit card etc. Made to sign bunch of papers treat rudely. When they check the car over before I left I had to point out marks on the car. The lady showed no interest but keep pushing for my signature. I bet they will not refund my deposit will find some excuse to keep it. Rental was being paid by the dealership.

My cousin came from U.S.A for my elder brother's wedding. We needed a rental car, and we got a Nissan Rogue for two days. Raj the person who got us the car is a great person. He took care of us like we were family. He went above & beyond our expectations, and we were very happy with his service. Hi good morning I am from Orlando Florida I rented a Honda accord’s blue from this company they charges was different from what was said by the employee $100.00 per day that was Ridiculous and was told it was going to be $50 per day they are on your Card for extra 5 days Tuesday to Saturday night I will never again this will be posted on Facebook Tik Tok and the air port review

They have got cars that are value for money. But the car I got on a snowy morning was stinking and I only realized after over half a day. Although I was not penalized for it, sure enough I was inquired if I had pets and the smell was result of it. Suggest them to prepare the vehicles nicely before handing over to the customer, specifically when advance bookings are made online.

Very accommodating and friendly staff. Most importantly reliable. We needed to pick up the car outside of their business hours, the manager Raj was more than willing to come after hours and even do drop offs at our home. Also, Rachel was there for us and came up with an arrangement that works with good price. Their cars are new, always clean , strongly recommend this place

Worst customer service, they said the insurance claim is easy, hassle-free and fast but turned out to be a nightmare of a process. I had to wait over 6 weeks, numerous follow-ups via emails and phone calls, only to be treated with neglect. Plus they charged super high for a minute scratch which I found very unethical. Never again, we will rent from this location.

Very good experience. Professional and very accommodating. No car rentals locally were opened on Canada day which was ridiculous. I would have had to go all the way back to the airport. Raj the manager opened for me and picked me up at home to get the rental. When I dropped the car back, he also took me home. I was very appreciative. Thank you!

I've been going to this location every month for 2 years or more and this place is by far the BEST car rental service in the city! Prices are GREAT! Customer service is absolutely AMAZING!! These guys provide the best customer service so I refuse to go anywhere else even though I live closer to another location, their service is worth the trip.

I need a car for a week from Sept 18, 2017, but had to leave early morning on Monday. Knowing urgency of the situation, Raj was nice enough to open the store after hours the evening before especially on a Sunday. I've been a customer for many years, in summry amazing service and great people. Fresh and clean cars that you don't usually see in commercial rental companies. Very flexible with the best rates in the GTA that I've ever seen! Ask for Raj, he's been a great service since day one, also all the great staff there!

Courteous staff. Very accommodating. Price is quite reasonable. Vehicles are in good condition. Mileage is not unlimited but large enough for the time frame in which you may want to use it. The only reason I gave it 4 stars is that they don't have GPS in their vehicles. It's not the best thing for non-locals.

They say cars are clean. Find tissue and used mask all over the car. Car alert showing so much issue. They say it's okay. Then, all of a sudden, it stops middle of the road. There are plenty of cheap car rentals with better cars all over town.
