Love this library! I started going to Agave back in 2014. I found that they had a toddler class every tuesday. Miss Mavis was the teacher and my son loved her! She doesnt teach the classes there any more sadly, but the teachers after her were good too. I also loved the culture passes. They have changed since then really wish they still had the phoenix zoo pass. The only one that is always wanted now is the science center. Better get there early for it. Plus if they dont come out with the passes better run, one time i was waiting in the spot where they have you wait for the passes they forgot to bring them. I was first in line the lady behind me ran and stole it from me. Other than that love the people here. This library can be a bit noisy but not to a point it that it sounds like a train. Always a good find and alway organized. When i cant find something the staff always is nice and willing to find it!
I walked in 2nd. time there and got a new library card. It took a few minutes, because the girl wasn't from here and it was hard to understand. She printed out my card and I preceded to use it at computer. It wouldn't work. I called her over and she tried it and it would 't work. She fixed it and then I needed help with the computer. She sent over a rude man that didn't know a thing, then another woman and finally the librarian that finally helped. What an experience. Please hire people who know something!!! I also came to the coloring class. They scheduled the class for 10:00. The library doesn't open until 10:00. Lady didn't show, another lady came 15 minutes late did 't know where anything was. They were supposed to have coffee and they didn't. There were only 3 people. The need music. The flyers are misleading. Bad!
Up your game people. I needed a password re-set on my card, this is not my usual library system, the person at the desk was short and rude with me and didn't want to reset the p/w- telling me 'its your last name' well no its not. then she finally gave in and reset the darn p/w and the items still would not check out so back over the desk again, obviously interrupting her social conversation. Finally got my items checked out and remembered why I use the scottsdale or glendale library systems. If you cannot employ helpful staff or staff that speaks English, its not worth coming here.
I wish we knew this was here sooner. Lived in this neighborhood for 3 years and didn’t know about this library until I searched for my closest one. It’s tucked behind the businesses on Pinnacle Peak Rd. It has lots of parking, it’s super quiet each time we’ve been, they offer discounted tickets to local / city attractions at no cost, computers, books and a great assortment of recent movies to rent. There’s an area for kids and teens and an outdoor area as well. Close to local businesses if you wanted to walk for a bite to eat if you’re doing extended studying.
Make sure you check any books that you get for damage before leaving library. I had checked out some books at the beginning of January and brought them home and put them on my dresser. Time got away from me and I knew I wouldn't be able to read them. I NEVER even opened them Took them back early and received a notice saying one of them was.damaged and I needed to pay $28. I would have no problem paying fee if I was responsible but it makes it pretty obvious that they do not check books after every use and then an honest person like me gets screwed.
My girls love coming to this library at least once every two weeks. They pick out tons of books, we read them all together, at least twice. Our library day is something we all look forward to through the week. I also pick up some good reads! I love the fact you can check out everything yourself, the kiddos can even scan the books themselves! If your ever in need of help they're always there to help in a kind manner. We have never had a single problem here. This library is perfection.
Nice to be able to use the computers but the staff is rude and the security guy, I didn't get his name, told me I couldn't eat a banana because there's no food allowed there, I'm not a child and I don't need to be told where I can and can't eat. He's a ridiculous person. Also the kids are allowed to scream all day long like it's a jungle gym while no one tells them to stop the screaming. Not a great library at all. I pay taxes to be in my library this one is the worst around.
I have been going to this library for many years and I LOVE it. However, I am a little surprised at the size difference between the children's large section vs the teens much much smaller section of books. The only problem I have had is where I returned a book and they said they did not receive it. I had to pay a $10 loss fee however I didn't mind because I just can't help but love this library. Extraordinary compared to other libraries I have been to.
This library was clean and quiet and well stocked. Graphic novels are in good supply as well as reference books on coding and resume writing. The staff were fantastic, well informed and quick to offer suggestions and or ideas on additional reading and resources. This was my first visit to a library in over a decade and the staff helped me with a library card and helped me navigate the stacks. Best library I have visited in a long time thanks Agave!
My son was using the computers trying to listen to an audiobook while following it with a physical book. We're working on our reading skills. A bunch of adults were standing nearby, hanging on the low wall that surrounds it and talking so loud he couldn't even hear the audiobook. Three librarians were standing at the desk, not far away, not doing anything. Not even after I made a comment. Just don't go. Pick a different library
I've been going to Agave library for over a year now and never encountered a major problem before. The library is neat and very relaxing, the ambiance is really good for studying. The staffs are okay however some are not very good at communication, other staff are sometimes quiet and cannot entertain some of my problems. But overall, this library is great and I will continue to read magazines and books here in the future.
This library is close to my house, so its not far. It is clean and well lit inside, the librarians are professional, helpful and nice, I went in to use the computers to print out some work ñdocuments. I like looking at the area where you buy cds, dvds and books. Theres always something to buy. The Agave library us a good place for multiple family activities and their selection on books, music and movies. Check them out.
Positives - The staff is very kind and helpful and can be a nice place to find all types of media for your pleasure. Studying and reading can be done here for the most part. Cons - Seems to be the best place to bring your screaming children to. I would highly recommend to any parent looking to bypass those playgrounds and bring your unruly children right here as it seems to be the spot to do so.
First time at Agave Library. Great service! The two ladies there gave me informative information. They were very pleasant and helpful. I didn't have a Phoenix Library card and on the spot she got my information and issued a card for me. It was delightful. The Agave Library is actually very close to me - within 7 miles - I will be visiting them more often!! Thank you Agave Library.
Awesome library, especially for kids! The play area is fantastic, and weekend story hour has been a wonderful way to escape the summer heat. (We love Ms. Ellen!) I’m thrilled to give my son access to so many books and hope it will inspire a lifelong love of reading. And yes, this location is small in size… but you can request any book through the system and get it fast!
This is a small neighborhood library. It is clean, friendly, and offers many classes. Agave is part of the interlibrary exchange so if they don't have what you're looking for another Phoenix library can ship it to this location for later pick up. There are multiple computers for public use. They even have a free seed exchange to help you grow seasonal veggies.
Not the biggest or the most scenic library, but for us graphic novel fans, it has a pretty impressive array of graphic novel series, and the movie selection is hefty. The kids section is cozy, and the teens section comes with comfy seats nestled next to windows. Staff members are okay for the most part. The guy that's always there is always friendly.
This must be one of north Phoenix's best kept secrets. Clean, cool, and lots of current titled movies and books to peruse or, just surf the web, either with your smart phone or laptop using free wi-fi. You can also use one of several networked public access computers with your library card ID number. Very friendly and helpful staff.
Staff is friendly and the library is organized and well kept. However, if you are planning on doing any type of studying or just want quiet time, I suggest you find somewhere else to work. They let the kids run wild and scream incredibly loud. Parents don't try to maintain their kids and the staff doesn't say anuthing
I was impressed by the interior design. Spacious and felt fresh. Staff was helpful despite being busy. It seemed quieter than some other libraries, probably due to its location. Book and multimedia selection is good. Would recommend this if you're looking for something in the northern Phoenix area.
My 3 year old son with autism was not permitted to come into the library because he won’t wear a mask. My 1 year old can come in without a mask but not my 3 year old with autism… if he was a little younger, it wouldn’t matter somehow. Just because of his age. It’s so incredibly wrong.
I just wanted to laugh at the person below me that said “unhappy customer”. Hey, my friend, you’re not a customer when the books are free! This is a government owned institution that offers something for the people for free and you’re complaining? Some people are never happy, smh.
We love coming here. The library is clean, updated and has amazing staff. The books we want are usually available and if not, come fast!! We are in the middle of summer reading right now and love the prizes available and would totally recommend this specific location to anyone!
Outstanding and very pleasant staff ready to assist every time I have asked for same. While at times a bit too loud for me, there is a wonderful area for younger kids to explore and learn. Noise well worth it given the value to younger minds of this area!
Stop by Agave Library to rent the newest books and movies from friendly librarians who are ready to help 6 days a week, closed on Mondays. Come to Phoenix Libraries to borrow items and find schedules for the next computer & technology classes near you!
Love this library: friendly, efficient and knowledgeable staff with a fine collection and assortment of reading and media possibilities available from a relatively small building. And a particularly loud shout out for the security
We come here every Saturday for Kids story time. All Staff does a great job on this event and the library is nice with a great kids play area. There is also a nice desert outdoor area for reading and enjoying nature.
Such a nice library! We came back today for the first time since covid, and my kids (from 8-15) were all so impressed. We will be back soon and can’t wait to become regulars again.
Love it here, I was looking for Pitbull music, one of them was “Global Warming Meltdown 2012” and saw you don’t have it. Please place orders of the CD. and my name is Bobbie.
The library and staff are excellent. Their attention to detail is high and their assistance is always prompt, kind, considerate and results-oriented. High Kudos!
Love this library. Really great selection of books and they always have really cool activities going on. My daughter loves it too, we come here frequently.
One of the nicest Phoenix libraries. Awesome design, well laid out. Great kids play area and also an outdoor area to hang out and read or converse.
Great selection of nook and resources librarians help you with is outstanding. Library could get loud from time to time because of kids in there .
Not crowded, very friendly staff, lots of "extras": seeds, tickets to museums and gardens, kits to go (adults and kids)... and perfect AC!!!
It's honestly just a really dope library, check em sometime, I have spend alot of hours reading and studying there has a younger fellow
The library staff is very kind. There are not many books in the library, but the environment is very good and suitable for reading.
Printing my documents there wasn't as straight forward as I would have liked, but the excellent customer service made up for it.
It's a nice little library. Clean and the staff is very friendly. There are free activities if you have kids which is nice.
Very nice library for all ages. And definitely have something there for everyone. Staff is very helpful and very friendly

The staff were really, really nice. We were only in and out making a few copies, but again they were awesome!
Really good library. Clean, good staff, and prefect for research. I would really recommened this library
Nice and quiet library and the staff are very helpful. Masks and Covid-19 testing kits also available.
Very helpful staff. Super friendly and inviting. Thourough when assisting me.
