I love Dart's Akard Rail Station for different reasons. First, right when you get off of the train you can see the Dart Business Office right in front of your eyes. It's very conveniently located so I go there every month to buy a monthly bus pass. (Or you can order online and save a copy to your phone and use your phone to ride Dart). There's a cool clock there and a big cement block with a map splashed on top of it showing you where you are and the surrounding buildings and streets and the street names. Also, I love to eat in this area and shop as well. Main Street and Elm Street especially. Additionally, the buildings and Dart, City and Business decorations in this area are stunning and beautiful to look at. A week ago an amazing violinist was playing on the corner of Main Street and Akard. This area is alive with energy, which I absolutely love, especially in the early morning when people are going to work.
Akard Station is a great transit spot in downtown Dallas for those looking to use the DART rail system, as the orange line separates out at this very location . Additionally, the station is conveniently located near several popular attractions, including the Dallas Museum of Art and the Meyerson Symphony Center. The station itself is clean and well-maintained, with clear signage and helpful staff. There are plenty of benches for waiting and the platform is covered, which is great during hot or rainy weather. One downside to the station is that the area immediately surrounding a junction, it can be a bit busy and noisy, which might be a concern for those who are looking for a quieter transit experience. However, the location is convenient for those looking to explore downtown Dallas.
On the corner is The National art always huge pictures of art. Top of the line first class art. I say this on the cross walk thought I'd take a picture cause for real it's not our way it's God's way He wants us to walk and Thanksgiving square is a place of peace come on down and have some prayers, Give it all to Him and surrender you don't have to be broken just be ready cause once you've done so you will see His work in you Life "like all of a sudden" kind of things will start... Just be Thankful always and speak words from your "Heart" always remember we never asked to be the color we are or the life we have been given we were the chosen to be "Thanksgiving"
They want to raise fare but buses and trains are rarely on time or they just don't show up period. Train/bus operators has really bad attuide. They will pass people up on buses and pick and choose who they want to wait for on the train. This company along with a lot of Dallas based companies are politic based. Meaning they will treat people different in different parts of the city but all riders pay the same 5 dollars. Also the protocol to complain is outrages, you have to call a number to leave a message nd nobody ever get back to you.
Less crowded and more peaceful than other downtown Train stations. When it rains, the supposed shelters/overhangs are worthless; you get drenched. Actually, all DART shelters are only good for seating. The sides perforated, so the wind and rain comes right through. They only provide shade when the sun is nearly overhead. Very poorly designed.
I will start by saying I am new to Dart/TRE. This station is not bad and close to my work in the renaissance building. There are constant Dart trains that pass through every 5 or 10 min on weekdays. I did gave 4 stars because 2 days out of the last 2 weeks there has been a guy yelling in the afternoon and it's getting annoying.
I wanted to go to the DART Store to reload my GoPass Tap Card, and they were closed to the public, awkward because the DART Store supposed to be your go to place to pay for anything concerning DART. It's very hectic trying to find other stores that offer the same services that the DART Store offers.
I like the fact that this location is right by the Dart Office in Downtown. Nice location with all the trains passing through here. You can just get down from one train and transfer to another right away, depending on where you are going. Dart Rail have really improved lately
Not as crowded at west end, Darts old Headquarters is here so less likely to get hassled at this stop as opposed to any of the other 3 primary stops downtown. You can switch to any line here(minus silver when it opens) Here’s some pics of possibly helpful info on their door
Good station right outside the DART headquarters. You can catch the orange, red, green, and blue lines from the station. There are benches and shade from the sun, though not much shelter in the rain.
DART Store @Akard to load GoPass Tap Card has well connected location with efficient functioning. The patience and efforts put in by Agent Johnson to communicate and assist visitors is commedable.
Its nice clean and quiet at night and secure you can see ppl walking going to a bar or restaurants some take their dogs for a walk and others going back to the hotel !!very different at daylight !
Akard Station is located in the center of downtown, compared to West end station much cleaner, less busy, and just as easy to walk to all the attractions in and around downtown.
This is the Dart Headquarters. DART ZOOM , SUCKS. IN MY COMMUNITY. I DON'T HAVE FIXED BUS SERVICE. GOLINK IS SUPPOSED TO SERVICE US, BUT THEY ARE NOT!!? UNHAPPY CUSTOMER
The only problem I have with the DART and specifically this stop is all the homeless people hounding you for money. Otherwise it's not A bad place to people watch.
Akard Station is where the actual Dart building is located and it's not a bunch of not normal people walking and sitting around they just be passing thru
This is one of the better Dart stations there is always security on hand or not far away. There's covered seating, easy access. It's normally quite.
Good must always be alert ignore the needy you never know when your going to be the pray it's OK to help but with caution.
There's always a delay here. Spent 20 min without the train moving. Cigarette smoke and homeless people are everywhere
It's DART's flagship station complete with DART mart, drunks, crackheads, and other vagrants. …
It's a downtown DART rail station. All lines pass through here. Next to Thanksgiving Square.
It is a lot safer than the West End Station, & they are only about 2 or 3 blocks away.
Akard is a safe place you can catch your train and you have your dart police there
Out of all the downtown stations this one is the most secure and less weird ppl
just a stop on my way home. like any other train station in down town Dallas.
Today April 17. Major delay. Only Green line running. Find alternate route
rail doesn't run according to schedule and does not sync with TRE trains
Great facilities! Very clean and clerks are very cordial and courteous!
All public rail lines run through here and lots downtown foot traffic.
Typical downtown DART station. Colorful people shops and residences.
I love that it's right in front of the Dart office!
Be a pass from me I am coming soon after that 6mb
Good Compare to Nearby DART Stations..
Easy and ontime to ride with DART
Too many people hanging around
Interesting shop ajacent stop
Go there. You will Love it.
Great public transportation
