I earned my private, instrument, commercial, and certified flight instructor ratings with Alamo and couldn't imagine going elsewhere. My instructors were great! Special thanks to Ryan and Jose for your dedication and professionalism and always making yourselves available to help me achieve my goals! I felt like family from day one and never felt like I was being dragged along or taken advantage of. Alamo Helicopters follows a Part 141 syllabus that is easy to follow, easy to comprehend, and sets you up for success. I had one primary instructor for each rating I was working towards who provided ground instruction as well as flight instruction; I never bounced between instructors though I would occasionally fly with another instructor such as the assistant chief or chief pilot for stage checks or enhanced training. Alamo truly set me up for success. If I were to start over from day one knowing what I know now, I wouldn't even look at another flight school but go straight to Alamo. For reference, I earned my private pilot certificate in about 60 hours of instruction, my instrument in about 40 hours of instruction (and in six weeks), my commercial certificate at around 175 total hours, and my certified flight instructor certificate at about 210 total hours of instruction.

FANTASTIC!! If you are in San Antonio to visit or live there you have got to go visit these guys. Whether it is a short tour flight or a sunset tour, which is what I got the wife for her birthday, these guys are the REAL DEAL. In a world where it seems the customer doesn't matter you will not feel that way with A H Tours. They were very professional, courteous and more than that, they were down right friendly and safety is at the top of the list. My wife thought that this gift might be more for me than her (I do love to fly...especially in a helicopter), but once I explained how it was all about her and doing my best to be romantic (yes, I did the whole rose thing) she accepted it was for her and she really enjoyed it. Rain moved in that evening so unfortunately we did not get our sunset and the flight was cut short. Jose was our pilot, what an incredible man. Since the flight was cut short he graciously apologized (even though there was nothing he could do about the weather), refunded us the unused part of the flight and mailed us a really nice note along with a small stuffed aviator bear and a small die cast model of the helicopter we flew in. I booked this helicopter tour as a surprise for our 25th wedding anniversary, and it was the best thing that I could've ever done. I took my first flying lesson here at Stinson Airfield in 1977, so it was great to be back; so much has changed. My wife didn't have a clue until we met our pilot Alex. From lift-off to touch-down, it was an extraordinary, exciting adventure. Alex took the time to explain the instruments, engine start-up to shut-down. He showed us the key spots in downtown San Antonio; although we live in San Antonio and know downtown S.A., this perspective from above was the best. Hovering at about 500 feet, zooming by the Tower of the Americas; we did that twice. We were so close to the Tower dining area that we could see the people waving back at us. My wife is still talking about it and that makes my day. Thank you Alamo Helicopters for an epic experience!! I first went on a tour 10 years ago with my wife and ever since we’ve had children we always talked about taking them as well. This year my oldest son kept getting distracted at baseball and soccer practice by the planes and helicopters at Stinson and I told him I would take him. He loved the tour and was shouting the whole time, my apologies to the pilot. When our second and third children get a little bit older, I will schedule tours for them as well. Ten years later my wife and I have the pictures from the tour framed and hanging on our wall, now I will get to hang the pictures of my son and I next to them. With the variety of different tours, the experience and knowledge of the pilots, I highly recommend them to everyone, couples and families. They offer memories and a new perspective of San Antonio to young and old alike. You may have though you e seen everything there is in San Antonio, but have you seen it all from the air? Additionally they offer pilot training and I will be scheduling an introductory flight in September.

We enjoyed significantly the aerial experience and we were able to take a myriad of photographs documenting our most pleasant experience. After a little bit of confusion at the beginning regarding where my payment went, we had an overall good experience here. We took off on time and our pilot Ryan was very friendly and kindly answered all the questions my helicopter enthusiast husband bombarded him with. It was our first time in a helicopter and he made it a memorable experience! My only suggestion would be to keep in contact with customer before the day of the flight since in my experience i paid and spoke with them weeks before and had to stop by since no one called me to say the date was still on even on the morning of the flight.

This was my first time flying! Alex was awesome. I have a fear of heights and get motion sickness/ vertigo regularly so I was worried. He explained everything and even joked around with us to lighten the anxiety. It was the most amazing experience. I highly recommend doing it. This was an item on my bucket list and it is well worth doing if you're on the fence. It was about a 20 minute ride. We saw the alamo, the riverwalk, the zoo and lots of views of the city. We even saw the elephants and flamingos from above. I highly recommend. Five stars all the way.

The entire Alamo Helicopter Tours staff couldn't have been more professional and courteous for our flying tour of downtown San Antonio and the Quarry Market area. This is one of the best things to do in San Antonio! They are awesome people and the tour is AMAZING! I work at the tower and to get to see it from this angle is beyond impressive. Alex was our pilot and you can tell he loves his job and he's good great at it. Jose was awesome too!! He took pictures of us at the end! We will be back to do a longer tour! The pilot is a San Antonio native and walks ypu throughthe whole tour. It's a whole different view from above. This was in my bucket list and would love to do it again. My wife and 2 small children and I took the "Alamo and more" tour several days ago. It lasted about 20 minutes and was absolutely out of this world. The staff/management and the pilot were both extremely knowledgeable about flying, safety and the San Antonio area generally. My husband and I flew for the first time in a helicopter on March 19, which was my husband’s birthday gift from me. Our pilot was Alex and he made the tour even more awesome than it already was. The flight path happen to be over where we lived and he fly around our home. Alamo Helicopters have an awesome pilot in Alex. If you look closely you can see Alex doing a thumbs up in the helicopter.

Purchased Love At First Flight Sunset for my wife birthday and our anniversary day before. Alex is our Pilot and we are deaf but he made sure that we really enjoy every views with sunset and Christmas light and downtown. Like he made sure my money spend is friggin worthy! We made wonderful memories! I highly recommend this experience. Drew was our pilot and he was very informative, kind, and made us feel comfortable and safe. The ride was smooth, beautiful, and so much fun!!!!! The location is also in a really neat place. We loved learning about the history of the Stinson Airport, walking on the trail system nearby, and driving by the missions. Lovely!!!

FANTASTIC!! This was the best experience ever! The only way to see San Antonio is from 5 to 600' in the air! This tour is worth every penny! Jose is a fantastic guide and a good pilot too! Great service the intake manager taking all information and weight of each guest and he gave a lady a birthday teddy which is super adorable, also the pilot was the best ever. This was an overall amazing experience, we've done helicopter tours before, but this was better than any of those other tours. Our pilot and ground support were absolutely friendly and very attentive and caring of not only our experience but our safety as well. We wouldn't let our hearts take another beat without booking a trip with these guys.

The helicopter ride was a great experience, I think is something you should do at least once in your life. The views of the city were amazing. I am giving 4 stars because I was expecting a friendlier customer service. They are cordial but I think it would help if they smile more. From my point of view they were doing things automatically.

The guys that work here were so great. We called AHEAD of our scheduled tour to let them know i was sick and couldn't make it, so they allowed us to reschedule. The entire experience was great! We did the discovery tour where you get to actually fly the helicopter, and not just a couple of seconds either you get to fly really fly. It was the most amazing experience. This was the perfect ride! We came as apart of our 5 year wedding anniversary and went for about 12ish minutes and got a great view of downtown!!! We also got to listen to Red Hot Chili Peppers so that was extra special, such a great time!!! We wanna come back and do the night time tour.

Airport is small and super-easy to navigate. Really enjoyed how it’s your small party, plus the pilot, in the cockpit. Good experience being in a small aircraft, where you see out all of the windows, plus feel every jostle and move.
