I wish this park was safe and regularly maintained because it is so close to my house. There are consistently remnants of homeless people camping out there in the pavilion in the woods (one time they ran and hid so fast they left their sleeping bags and dinner laying out - I think they were hiding on the other side of the building - it was really scary. Thank god I have a 80 lb boxer). The doggie poop bags are usually empty.....I just wish I felt safe there. Perhaps better lighting? Also - where are the 'sweeping views' that it says on the Google maps description?
Sequestered within a neighborhood, there are surprisingly a lot of little trails within this ten acre park. There is even a spot where you can clearly view downtown. See if you can find it! Because the park is adjacent to the backyards of a number of homes, I have not yet encountered any vagrants. I'm sure that the authorities are called promptly to have them removed. I feel safe here. There are a dozen or so grills and benches here. I grilled and had a picnic here a few times. I hope you do, too!
Allen Park is a nice, quiet pocket park tucked in the edge of NW Hills. Some short, well marked paths run through it, and there's a nice spot to look at downtown from the top of the small hill above Balcones Drive and MOPAC. If you're looking for a spot to catch some shade, or get a short walk in with the doggo that has some shade, Allen is a great neighborhood destination.
We had time to kill and found this park. I’ve got a 1 year old and a 3 year old and it was a great small loop for them to walk without me carrying them. I went on a weekday so it was pretty empty just some joggers. After you get past the stairs it’s all slight uphill or down. Slightly bumpy path and some cactus to watch out for but easy parenting besides that!
The park itself is good. However, with minimal footfall here, I'm not sure of the security. Also, no clearly defined signs/ maps available. The park shares its boundaries with other establishments and homes, so it was difficult to know which was public land and which was private.
Nice little park for a hike, a lot bigger than it looks on a map. Has some picnic areas and grills thatust have been popular at some point as they are all over the country and never used. Looks like they started making a path on the other end of the park too but never finished.
Such a pretty, shady gem of a park tucked away near tree-filled neighborhoods. Great place for a weekend picnic with tables, grills and restrooms. FYI, the trails aren't stroller-friendly so bring a baby carrier if you want to use them and have a little one
Wanted to try out a small park w/ trails & that is exactly what I got from here. It is a little weird being so close to people's backyard in certain areas and that there really isn't any kind of signage, but all around very nice trailing park …
Cute park. Nice trails. Well maintained. Picnic area. Relatively quiet considering its proximity to the freeway. Smells good, like Christmas. Some trails are right in the woods, which is really nice.
Good for a short hike. Around 1 mile to complete all the trails. The path has loose sand and gravel. The paths have slight grades of elevation and some stairs. There are parking spots as well.
This is a quiet trail located in the middle of a neighborhood in North Austin. It's an easy trail, perfect for a quick 30 minute hike. Lots of steps and leveled dirt paths.
It's a walking park with a few tables near the middle. Not a lot of open space. There is definitely some road noise however the trees help drown that out
Small little park with a circular trail and picnic tables scattered throughout. Easy walking mostly, a few sets of stairs to climb. Very nice!
Great place for a quite walk and get some exercise. No bathrooms or water fountains available but if it did I would give it 4 stars!
Nice park in a neighborhood. Different levels of incline. Not a lot of people ☀️ trails are maintained and plenty of picnic areas.
Great sampling of hiking trails in a residential neighborhood. Some decent views of downtown on the backside of the park.
Nice place for a quite picnic in the woods, has tables and a small shelter. Looks like the restrooms were boarded up.
A lovely little park to wander around. Lots of flora and trails make it seem much larger than it actually is.
Around the corner from the office parks and a great place to walk or sit in the natural world for a moment.
Great spot for a picnic and a quick hike.

Nice quiet park, even though it is located a couple of blocks from a busy highway.
One word, bizarre. Strange paths, structure and views. Will definitely return.
Nice little hill country hide away in the city. Good views and simple trails.
It's a little wooded park near MOPAC. small trail and that's about it.
Inviting with a great view in a neighborhood park. Hidden treasure.
Not that long if looking to run long distance but beautiful place
Cool spot for a quick little nature stop mid bike ride.
Love this park. Easy trail options for my old doggos.
Great combination of challenging and novice trails.
