Went here a couple years ago to color my dark hair brown, I specifically asked for a senior stylist who has experience with curly hair. Who i got booked in with definitely did not know what she was doing and bleached my hair to the point of gumminess. The color was also nothing close to what I wanted, I asked for a simple neutral brown and got a bright orange. They then made me pay extra to "fix" it which just resulted in her putting so much toner in my hair that it went back to black. Then in another attempt to fix it she put a shampoo cocktail ( more bleach) on my hair to strip the toner, the end result was a blotchy fried mess. The owner of the salon was also there during the entire process "helping" the stylist, was extremely rude when I said I should not have to pay even more money to have this fixed. She said "I should not be trying to get my hair done if I do not have the money for it". I have never experienced a worse hair salon and to this day I am trying to grow my hair back from this disastrous experience.

wow wow wow I don't know where to start, I went yesterday and it was my first time, I just wanted to cut my bangs and guess what she didn't charge me, I was just moved by this great gesture, we don't find people like this anymore,honestly I don't regret it, what an atmosphere, what an excellent service, really it's the best salon, I made an appointment for my coloring and I can't wait to go there, thank you so much for your kindness and your excellent work and service , I'm so happy to have finally found my salon and my hairdresser that I've been looking for a long time

I used to be so afraid to get my hair done because I had such bad experiences in the past. I met Bri a couple years ago & will never switch hair dressers now that I've found her. Bri never fails to give me exactly what I'm looking for & I always leave feeling like a million dollars. I honestly can't even put into words how much I appreciate Bri & her staff. Thank you guys for not only being the best people, but also providing the best service!!

Beautiful Salon with amazing, friendly staff! They are all very talented too. My main stylist is Claire, she listens and actually does what you request and can always see my vision. She's done everything to my hair from bayalage to my current do, which is a weave! And it's amazing and so low maintenance, my hair is thick and long (touches my bum lol) and looks so natural, no one knows it's a weave or can believe it's not my natural hair!! Anyway, give his place a try, you will not be disappointed!!

Alter Ego's is awesome! The salon is lively and fun and all the stylists are so sweet and attentive (everyone I talked to went above and beyond!). Erin is a master of colour, such a talent. I normally get blonde highlights and layers but sometimes I mix it up with something crazy and fun - she can do it all! I'm an introvert and used to hate getting my hair done but she is so fun and kind, it's like spending an hour with your best friend + I always love my hair.

Love my hair!! I went to visit Shelly at Alter Ego, at the suggestion of a friend. I wanted to get my hair back to my original colour. After discussing the various alternatives, on how to get there, we landed on a plan. Shelly nailed it!! It was EXACTLY what I was looking for! I also found the rest of the staff at the salon, to be super inviting and relaxed. A warm, pleasant experience.. and they have delicious Raspberry tea! I would definitely return.

If I could give Alter Ego and the girls there 10 stars, I would! They are the most attentive, creative, positive, caring team of hair stylists I have ever come across! Not only do they work magic on your hair, but they give back to their community and the less fortunate. I will never, ever trust anyone with my hair again after visiting Bre and the team! Wow this was a great experience. Cassidy layered and highlighted my hair. I told her what I was looking for and she was able to do exactly what I wanted. The salon was so happy and cheerful, everyone was joking and laughing. They offered me coffee, tea, cookies etc. Not only that, it was packed! That's the sign of a good salon. Price was very reasonable as well, I even bought a hair product. Thanks alter ego!

Alter Ego has friendly and knowledgeable staff. I see Bri for my haircuts and Terri just permed my hair. I respect they don’t dabble in things they are not great at and excel in each area of their own specialty because that’s how you get an awesome stylist and you get to look fabulous. Prices are comparable for perms, and I find the haircuts a reasonable price. I am so happy with the service at this salon.

I didn’t know they did men’s haircuts at first, but turns out this cute little salon does and wow are they good. I told my hair stylist, Halie (who is an awesome chick) to “make me look good” and she worked her magic. She even made me a coffee to sip on during my cut and gave me a grape candy after! It’s the little things that I loved here. 11/10

Best colouring I've had in Calgary. They are especially good with vivid and vibrant colour requests. I went from medium brown to vivid purple to a balayage light brown and each time colour was long lasting and my hair was healthy and happy.
